I disagree with this score, deserves at LEAST a 7.5 it is a fun game overall, my only complaints are that I feel this game should’ve had at least coop like borderlands has since it’s based around an mmo game. And it was kinda sold as a coop type game, yes it has it. But it’s not the best. It’s not very deep. I think playing in this games open world with a buddy would’ve been great. It’s not a very long game, but it’s not even a full price game so can’t complain too much. $50 on steam isn’t so bad. It was worth the price and it is fun. But other than that the only complaint I have is the AI is kinda bad. Again could be fixed with coop. Anyway I would love to see an MMO title of sword art with this combat and bigger open worlds. Overall this game is very fun!
Yusei255 I think that if the coop was done right for example in a similar way to the way that borderlands was done I think it would be great. It would need the proper scaling based on the amount of players for bosses and enemies. Dark souls does that as well with the bosses. I think they could’ve done several things to make the game deeper. I also think they could have done something with the new game plus because as it stands right now it seems there is very little point to doing it, but still overall the game is fun. I do see what you are saying though. I just think that as a game that is representing a show that is based around team work, and “raids” and things like that it would be cool to see more coop and pvp mechanics. For example, it would’ve been really cool if those pvp players in the open world could’ve been actual other players. Similar to the way that dark souls has “invaders” it would’ve added some challenge and made sense in this game. They could’ve added the option for PVE or PVP servers for those who didn’t want it
It's full price (59.99) and is definitely not worth that price at all. It's on sale for the Switch at $12. Probably worth it for fans at that price, but not for me (someone who doesn't care for the anime and never watched it).

In my personal opinion, I am enjoying fatal bullet. Maybe because I've never invested heavily into the anime. Most people I talked to that didn't like this game were the hardcore SAO people. That's how I got it for free because my buddy bought it, didn't like it and he gave it to me. By no means is the game a masterpiece but I still like it. My only real issue with the game is I wish you had more dialogue choices like a positive, negative, and a sarcastic positive and a sarcastic negative. But again, that's knit picking. Other than that, I say it gets an 8.4 out of 10.

MGS survive was a shitty zombie game, hence it got a 6, for its respective genre. SAO is a shitty rpg game, heck it gets a shitty score. So yes, saying MGS survive is better than SAO is wrong. I love this game for many reason. But the main one is this... it's the first xbox game I've played in years that dose not need a freaking patch to play it. And yea it's had like 2 updates but those are super small and it added 4 more characters. My point is I like it mainly because it's playable and fun and the story was good. Although I'll admit it certainly felt shorter than the other games but I can forgive that because over all I had a great time with it.

Yeah, I got it on Xbox. It was on sale. Like, $30 for the base game, plus all the DLC included. I wouldn't say this game was worth $90, which what games cost here after taxes, but for $30? I got my money's worth.

Who cares if the plot doesn't make sense? SAO's strength never was its writing. Here, the gameplay is what's important, and it is quite addicting, if repetitive.
It should be a 6 or a 5. The game was good, but it lack in a lot of things. Pvp it was laggy af, you could hardly find a decent 4v4 or someone leave then you have to wait all over again. Your best chance is Pve but it get boring real quick after your fight all the bosses over and over again. The clock tower seem so empty should fone a Xenoverse lobby, should add bullet and bullets mode. Basically you will only come back to this game when your bored or when you have a squad on to play.
If you are still curious, yes-- you can play without the online membership. It is mostly a single player game, but they have co-op missions to play online with other people that also have the game (and there is technically matchmaking for pvp but not a large amount of people who play on the switch lol)
Based on this review it doesn't look like you got very far in the game. You didn't mention the dual wielding guns and swords. Did you even beat the flugel bow?

People need to realize that IGN giving a game an objective score doesn’t mean you can’t like the game. My favorite movie series of all time is the mission impossible series. Best movies ever? Helllll no. But that doesn’t matter.
Bought the game and quit in a day. If you want to sit through 3 HOURS of the tutorial, go ahead, but it isn’t worth it. I remember constantly clicking next on each screen as I was barraged with pointless character information. After you finally escape that part, the game expects you to remember everything you just learned, and tells you to do something, but you have no clue where to go. I’d ask steam for a refund, but they won’t give it to me because I’ve played for too many hours due to the tutorial.

they could have deffinitally made the inviroments more intricate and more of a co-op or online setting like a online lobby where you can hang out but i really enjoy the game nonetheless

I love this game for many reason. But the main one is this... it's the first xbox game I've played in years that dose not need a freaking patch to play it. And yea it's had like 2 updates but those are super small and it added 4 more characters. My point is I like it mainly because it's playable and fun and the story was good. Although I'll admit it certainly felt shorter than the other games but I can forgive that because over all I had a great time with it.
20 to 25 hours is short now ? like really ? How low IGN has descended....

I recently got into SAO after deciding to give the whole series a shot and now I want to try the games out. I'm a sucker for RPGs and looking at all the SAO games that have been released, I can't decided which one(s) to pick. Can someone help out a bit?
i'm not a fan of the anime , but i played three sword art online games so far . they were fun and i loved them .. rating should be at least 7.6 (they should make a vr version though)

IGN while I respect your opinion, I think you’re being a little too harsh on this game, I’ve seen games with much worse frame rate, load times. After playing this one for hours, I gotta admit the progression is well done and it’s just straight up addicting
The reasons why today’s Anime games don’t have English voices because Bandai dropped out the R1 anime distribution industry years ago, which is where they pulled in most of their voices for the video games division. Nowadays they only dub the games that are expected to pull in a large amount of profit like anything from the Tales franchise.

Yeah, I got it on Xbox. It was on sale. Like, $30 for the base game, plus all the DLC included. I wouldn't say this game was worth $90, which what games cost here after taxes, but for $30? I got my money's worth.
I knew this wouldn't be good , and it isn't , but is it really worse than the previous games and metal gear survive ?they did say the game can sometimes be alot of fun and it has some depth, doesn't that deserve at least a 6.5 or a little more ? It should be a 6 or a 5. The game was good, but it lack in a lot of things. Pvp it was laggy af, you could hardly find a decent 4v4 or someone leave then you have to wait all over again.
Your best chance is Pve but it get boring real quick after your fight all the bosses over and over again. The clock tower seem so empty should fone a Xenoverse lobby, should add bullet and bullets mode. Basically you will only come back to this game when your bored or when you have a squad on to play.

If you are still curious, yes-- you can play without the online membership. It is mostly a single player game, but they have co-op missions to play online with other people that also have the game (and there is technically matchmaking for pvp but not a large amount of people who play on the switch lol)

Based on this review it doesn't look like you got very far in the game. You didn't mention the dual wielding guns and swords. Did you even beat the flugel bow?

People need to realize that IGN giving a game an objective score doesn’t mean you can’t like the game. My favorite movie series of all time is the mission impossible series. Best movies ever? Helllll no. But that doesn’t matter.

Bought the game and quit in a day. If you want to sit through 3 HOURS of the tutorial, go ahead, but it isn’t worth it. I remember constantly clicking next on each screen as I was barraged with pointless character information. After you finally escape that part, the game expects you to remember everything you just learned, and tells you to do something, but you have no clue where to go. I’d ask steam for a refund, but they won’t give it to me because I’ve played for too many hours due to the tutorial.
