My big problem with Pete's booking is that Logan and Jake basically screw Cody out of the WWE Championship and yet at no point does Cody ever care about that - not even getting a rematch
@@TheCaptainBenis Not true. Cody challenged Roman to a rematch the following night on Raw, where he got jumped by Brock. Then he and Roman were drafted to separate brands. He's made it clear in recent weeks that he's still seeking a rematch with Roman.
I felt this was a really tough decision to make, and it came down to one thing for me. Pete's booking was more coherent and told the better story, but the judges were absolutely spot on with pointing out the fact that this is LOGAN PAUL. Pete was essentially booking a "global megastar" gimmick, but missed out on the fact that the individual in question is much more than a gimmick. My heart voted for Pete, but my brain voted for Laurie, who got the assignment, even though he tweaked it to suit himself.
Personally, I found Laurie’s was the best; liked the way the indie darlings got involved and MJF/Logan at Mania sounds like a treat! Edit: Nina with a sick burn before revealing who she voted for, goodness me
I was actually expecting him to bring in AJ Styles, who is up there with Punk, Samoa Joe, and Bryan as one of the biggest Indy Stars when Indy Wrestling hit it's surge in the early 2000s...but I was also expecting it because he used all of Pete's other choices. I think I would've shimmied Styles in there just before MJF.
Why not just have Logan Paul, when he wins, force people to have to challenge him on his Podcast.. which would annoy the fans even MORE! And even ONLY defending the belt because Management FORCES him. Oh well.. That's why They are there and I'm here in the comments. Happy Birthday Pete. Congrats to Laurie.
I note this feels like the perfect opponent for LA Knight to beat for the title. Like who better too beat him that the Megastar LA Knight? As stated the opponents felt quite weak. Like surely having him take on like a Rey Mysterio early would make sense

Really liked the story Pete was trying to tell with the megastar vs pro wrestler angle to it; but I gotta give it to Laurie on principle bc of his minute long intro talking about how disgusting having Logan be the champ is
Laurie's direct opinion on Logan would have instantly won in my eyes. I don't care how much money he makes for the company. He sucks and he should never have a platform.
Within like a minute of his booking, Laurie made Logan Paul look like a badass. _I feel nauseous just saying that but thats on Logan, not on Laurie. Laurie is a Legend._
I feel like Pete's booking was built around the idea of turning Logan Paul face but then at the last minute he realised that was a terrible idea so he just slapped on the ending of "Oh when he comes back he's still a heel tho." Like if you're gonna do an idea like that you've got to commit to it. Lauri's was more simple and logical, use him to get as much heat as possible and then have him put over the next star, even if I don't think MJF is the right guy for that role, he's to much of a natural heel. If Laurie's was exactly the same but with LA Knight as the guy to beat him then it would be perfect.
Yeah I know it’s not part of the “championship reign” like he said but I absolutely would’ve noted that when Logan comes back he’s face and gets into a feud with his brother because that’s just potential left on the table that they’re not doing anything with. I’m not a fan of Logan like as a person (as a wrestler he’s fine he’s pretty good even) but I think it’s difficult for a lot of the IWC to see that like a general audience probably doesn’t hate him as much and would be willing to follow a face run if presented properly which I think Pete’s booking builds to well
I don't know much about the UK indies scene, so I wasn't super familiar with Michael Oku. But God damn he is a funny charismatic bastard, can see why he's the top guy of his promotion.
Ok yeah I wasn't sold but they need someone with an outside perspective on the panel. Some of those questions they leveled at Pete meant absolutely nothing to me as a fan. "Why is his first opponent not bigger?" Who cares? The story isn't foremost about the opponents.
I don't know how much Dom Allen actually knows about wrestling but I like to imagine it's very little and he's confused as hell during these voiceover reads.
Genuinely preferred it so much over, we’re gonna take the big star from the other company who’s doing great face work. Make em heel again because who needs actually developing characters in wrestling and book a heel v heel mania match because they’ve infamously always done well
I really thought Pete was better… it was a better told story & had a better payoff while Laurie’s was kinda disjointed and bounced to the destination with MJF
Laurie wins because he had Logan Paul win MITB and then cash in on Seth Rollins which is exactly what should have happened in real life. Also losing it to MJF is honestly better than Logan Paul losing to Gunther and something I could see Triple H doing if MJF did jump to WWE.
How I might’ve taken Pete’s idea; Instead of having Logan beat Cody, have the Bloodline thing happen as it did irl. Seth loses to A.J for the World Heavyweight Championship and acts as a sort of end boss for Logan’s rise to champion. Have Pete’s gauntlet of indie wrestlers be the lead up to Styles, keep the ‘global megastar vs professional wrestler’ thing the same, only adding an extended promo-off between A.J and Logan along the way. Chip away at his overconfidence bit by bit, along with one or two physical confrontations where Styles can showcase Logan’s weakness to technical wrestling. Logan has a way of taking the wrestling out of the arena, what with his social media presence and podcast, and you could have him begin by disrespecting the championship, disrespecting the idea that a ‘professional wrestler’ could ever be superior to him - a ‘global megastar. But over time, after squeaking victories over people like Gargano and Gable, maybe he slips some references to people like Kurt Angle or Brett Hart or even famous matches from the careers of the people he just beat through the occasional tweet or mention on a podcast, or even in a promo against A.J. Eventually, having fought his way to a title shot against Styles, they fight a flashy vs technical match, like Logan has been doing, but maybe he’s a bit more adept at getting out of holds and the like, show off the homework. At the finish, when Jake inevitably gets involved, have Logan hesitate. He’s having second thoughts (again how Pete said) and the ending is a sort of weird mess that ends with A.J winning. Have A.J see that Logan could have won, would have if not for his own desire to win clean and prove Styles wrong, and offer him a rematch at the next PPV where he wins clean through a submission. Or something like that, idk.
While I hate the idea of Paul as Champion, these guys did a good job with the booking. Honestly the booking of the last two videos has been really good.
I checked out a bit on Pete the second he brought up Cody losing at Wrestlemania. Dude get over it. And then having Cody split the belts and getting rid of one of them? You hate Seth's belt as it has a secondary belt feel yet he thinks Seth tossing one away would not? Plus why would anyone just willingly toss away a belt?! Just have someone challenge for one of the belts and Cody losing. Rough, rough start Pete.
Regarding Pete's ending, you could have Jake eliminate Logan in the Rumble, then have them face each other at Mania (in some form, perhaps with a partner for Jake). This will bring in casual fans.
Honestly Instant DQ on this one for Laurie NOT BOOKING THR WWE TITLE! I dont care he did the World Heavyweight title the task was BOOK THE WWE TITLE which Roman has. This is going to be a controversy if Laurie wins.....
One of the biggest picking points for Petes booking is that Logan Paul cant be getting out wrestled so handily but somehow also be a Submission specialist.
I don't like that the judges just kept repeating that neither are realistic due to it not being a big money match. They are fantasy bookings, since when are things like "wwe would want a bigger first match" and "logan would be too busy to have that schedule" important to it? Most bookings literally contain literally changing the past, but the problem is that Logan isn't fighting Lesnar???
I’m with Nina. This is the only episode I didn’t like either booking despite the good storytelling. Between Logan tapping AJ out with a kimura and Logan knowing the term “indie darling” this was more nonsensical than Luke’s nWo.
I think Laurie's booking is good on current conditions and gives the gold back to wrestling as a whole and I like Pete's becasue it is rather different and takes us down a whole new path. Why would it be pointed out that 'they're not perfect." DUH. Who cares. This was fun
These judges are terrible, not because of the outcome, but because of how they judge. Quentin Tarantino is a connoisseur of film, and if he watched my fair Lady, he would say it was a masterpiece he would not take a dump on it because it’s not a Quentin Tarantino movie. You do not judge something on how you would do it you judge something on if it is a good story. These three keep saying well I would make the story go this way, well, then quit being judges and be contestants. Otherwise shut the hell up and actually judge the story on if it’s a good story, not on what you would do.
Funny... i was less bored wirh the 2nd one, but i think the 1st one that bored me was actually the much better booking. In hindsight admittedly ONLY INITIALLY the 1st one bored me, but it turned out to be the much better story, and one of rhe only ways i could see him actually getting some legit babyface pop
I preferred the Megastar story, but agree that the actions didn't match the narrative. A constantly title-defending champion is the opposite of dickhead behaviour. Make him too famous, too busy, too good to waste his time showing up or defending the belt. Have him pose with it online and on talkshows or whatever, have video montages of him showing off everywhere but not actually appearing on WWE tv at all until it's forced, and then have him win with shitbox tactics and Jake inteference. Gunther ending it would be fine too, but Logan wasn't acting like a dickhead in Pete's, while Pete was telling us he's still a dickhead because of being Logan Paul. Don't show his personal development and overcoming adversity with him improving his wrestling ability. Have him win while being cocky and pretending his flaws aren't real. For all his faults, the dude can put on a great match, I don't think anyone needs convinced anymore that he's good.
Honestly I think the best way to do this, and they both missed the boat on this one, would be to have him win the belt and not defend it. Like he’s not on raw every week and he basically has a Roman reigns schedule lol.
I had Pete all the way through, but Laurie kinda got me at the end with that unbridled Logan hate lmao. I didn't need the MJF part but he is truly pretty irredeemable.
I'll say this, Pete isn't maybe the best fantasy booker lol Pete would be the guy who needs someone to take his ideas and massage them into a proper angle.
I love how this episode airs on the day that Logan Fucking Paul wins the US Title. No ACU AND Logan is a champion in WWE!? We are truly in the darkest timeline.
So Logan beats Zayn, KO and Styles by submission via fujiwara armbar a move that rarely beats people but he doesn't beat Gargano, Vinci or Kaiser with it that's some ass backwards booking there. Also dude really MJF? Why?
Before I watch this I'm going to state how afraid I am somebody might convince me I want it, because I don't want to want it. Update: Nope still really don't want it
So finished the episode personally I didn’t like either story because it’s Logan Paul, I would have him sitting front row championship around the waste purchased ticket to aew, Roh, Tna hell go on a indie appearance run
1. *Skip to **1:27**, **15:00** & **27:05* 2. (1:32-1:38) Get. Over. It. Pete. 3. Like it or not, one way or another, we will inevitably see Logan Paul as WWE Champion. Oh boy.
Laurie had the better moment with the MJF reveal, but I think Pete had the better story. The judges are acting like WWE NEVER books little plot holes, but Pete explained what happens after the plot holes and how those wrestlers get continued stories because of them.
Okay… easy. Have him win money in the bank. Have him be an asshole bragging about it constantly. When Cody beats Roman, have him cash in and steal the moment. That gives him a feud with Cody. Schenanigans and he wins. Keeps it for a bit, until he gets into a feud with LA Knight, and we crown LA Knight at summerslam. So we elevate 3 people with this feud. And Cody winds up feuding against whoever screwed him out of the title in the Logan Paul rematch.
I do not think that WWE should be giving Logan any time at all. His stunt in the Japanese forest was the catalyst for the original adpocalypse here on RUclips. The related apology was so worthless that it's literally become the standard by which all other apologies are compared... and his return to RUclips involved him tazing a dead rat. And that isn't even covering the recent stuff: pretending to "go gay for a month" for clout, buying a house in Puerto Rico for tax benefits, scamming his own fans out of millions while never following through on refunds... the guy is evil. The only thing WWE could possibly do that's worse would be to bring in Donald Trump and have him dethrone Roman.
I would keep everything as it is have Logan beat Rey for the us title then at wrestlemiana Cody beats Roman for the title and with smack down not having a main title while Logan has the us title on smack down and defends it every time then at night of champions we have a 4 way match for the wwe championship with Cody Logan Sami Zane with the heavyweight championship and Carmelo Hayes with the ic belt and Logan win being a double champ and bring the title back to smack down
I think I'd be less incensed about some of the pick-a-part nature if it made more sense. They focused very hard on Logan cashing in immediately; its within his character to be that cocky and pull it off. They find it disbelieving that MJF vs Logan at WrestleMania could garner anything: never mind that the two of them on the mic could do some interesting things, but MJF has literally been a heel that caused the fans to cheer for him SEVERAL times before swerving them, compounded with the heel draw of Logan. The fans will bend themselves backwards to make MJF the face just because they dislike Logan (see: feud with Roman Reigns). And then they focus on Logan not having "star level opponents": who are you going to get at that level who is also going to put Logan over? Maybe Brock? But then nobody is going to believe the man who victimized John Cena and put the Deadman under got got by Logan. Maybe you'd get Cena to do it. But who else are you gonna get to do it, and at what point do you then transition over to letting actual full-time wrestlers take chances at the title? I almost want them to do the booking, but I also don't believe in them to do that well.
How is Logan winning the title a “mainstream moment”? I don’t think you know what mainstream is. You seriously think there will be headlines about him? He’s social media famous, not mainstream famous.
I mean... To be fair Logan is annoyingly good at wrestling, so while he would be a painful champion, he would honestly be a pretty good champ wrestling wise
That the thing we hate him because he’s good at the thing we love it’s so sickening at how talented he is at wrestling and unlike some he’s not been doing it for years
In fairness to them both, when it comes to the matter of Logan Paul's first opponent needing to be a big name to keep the media buzz going (which I do understand), anyone who'd fit the criteria you can't have lose to him unless it's some typical chicken shite heel BS which Reigns is already doing. It's gunna get very lame very quickly. That's the intrinsic problem with Logan Paul being WWE champion as a concept, it's doomed to suffer the same fate as The Miz when he was champion in the noughties. He's got a lot of credibility in a certain spot, mid-card title is perfect if you wanna grab the headlines as they've done in real life, put the main belt on him & the perception changes - how limited/one trick he is comes to the forefront & no amount of booking armour will disguise it. With someone like The Miz, relatively unknown outside the wrestling bubble, who cares? With Logan Paul there's no reason to expose him like that when you've got something too lose!
Michael's hatred of tweeners as a concept is so funny to me, love his reactions.
My big problem with Pete's booking is that Logan and Jake basically screw Cody out of the WWE Championship and yet at no point does Cody ever care about that - not even getting a rematch
Lol just like in real life with roman

Wwe gonna need to create a new mid card title cuz now Smack Down to Champions who barely gonna be around 🤷🏽♂️
Booking Logan as champion isn’t as much of a challenge as booking Logan as a baby face in general.
Lets gooo!!!

Genuinely think that if Pete hadn't had Ludwig Kaiser beat Logan Paul, he would have won
Who else was distracted by the stain on Bradshaw's shirt?
I would keep everything as it is have Logan beat Rey for the us title then at wrestlemiana Cody beats Roman for the title and with smack down not having a main title while Logan has the us title on smack down and defends it every time then at night of champions we have a 4 way match for the wwe championship with Cody Logan Sami Zane with the heavyweight championship and Carmelo Hayes with the ic belt and Logan win being a double champ and bring the title back to smack down
Laurie
Okay I swear this is going to be a miscarriage of justice if Laurie wins considering HE DID NOT DO THE TASK.
Pete should have won, Laurie did good but my god lol judges get all twisted up about the smallest shit
Laurie booker of the year because he doesn’t want to be 😅
MJF...L gets the W for that
I would just like to point out this say WWE Champion, not the world heavyweight title, Laurie booked the wrong belt lol
That the thing we hate him because he’s good at the thing we love it’s so sickening at how talented he is at wrestling and unlike some he’s not been doing it for years
If Logan Paul goes full time, I would love for him to become a world champion just because he is so good at being a prick
Mjf is only unlikable in Kayfabe... Fans woukd absolutely get behind him if he faces Logan Paul for the WWE championship
Especially considering that he is pretty much a baby face in AEW right now
11:50 You have them running around calling themselves megastars and they lose to Gunther?
