I really disagree with the outcome of this one. *SPOILER ZONE* I think Laurie nailed it with the division argument. Tempests booking may have been the more epic story and a bigger moment on paper. But Lauries booking provided a much more compelling view on the whole division at that time. I would rather see Laurie's booking come to fluition because at the end of that story there is so much more excitement to keep watching the product.
I agree cause I liked Laurie's one more too, but I think the reason he wasn't voted well is because overall the center focus of his story wasn't on the streak and it was like Asuka is just there & winning here & there.
sure but it's also booking, and part of the job of booking is to consider where what you are doing now leads, because it's an ongoing product. Is it tell a story of a streak that never was or is it book the streak that never was in one it matters what you left yourself to work with going forward. It is fantasy but to just put the story in the vacuum bubble and say it's fine we'll just ignore anything outside the topic is a little too unrealistic to how wrestling stories are told.@@theoneandonlymichaelmccormick
The fact that Laurie’s booking nailed everything that they said concerned them about Tempest’s booking, and then called those same things flaws was a fucking joke.
1. *Skip to **1:50**, **15:09** & **28:59* 2. Honestly, this has been my favorite Fantasy Booking episode. I enjoyed both rebookings, because (imo) both made sense, both serviced the story, both had the rightful person in Ember Moon (aka Athena) breaking the Streak and both bettered the SmackDown Women's Division as a result. 3. I also LOVED that they both had Asuka NOT lose to Charlotte, because it never made sense, and, to this day, it STILL never made sense. 4. I can't wait for the Finals (aka The Shield 3-way)!
I feel like you can’t simultaneously say “Tempest booked Asuka to beat too much of the women’s division” and “Tempest should have booked Asuka to have also beaten Ronda Rousey”
I agree cause I liked Laurie's one more too, but I think the reason he wasn't voted well is because overall the center focus of his story wasn't on the streak and it was like Asuka is just there & winning here & there.
@@parth_gotawalaYou could argue the fantasy booing is only of the END of the streak, not how the streak went. So I think a generalisation of Asuka wins a lot is absolutely fine rather than just painstakingly listing the people she’s gonna beat like Tempest seemed to do.
@@CliffJackerI still think tempest makes more sense for the prompt itself, because this prompt isn't about booking the women's division or trying to have the involvement of Ronda Rousey, it does kind of baffle me though that the judges criticized tempest about things they didn't like in his booking (like the absence of Ronda Rousey, and the fact that he buried the women's division in their opinion) and yet Lori still lost despite the fact that he essentially fixed all of the problems that they had with tempests booking (even though I actually like tempests booking, it's the argument about why Roman reigns was such a good heel champion "heels shouldn't beat baby faces, they should crush dreams"and that's what tempest booked there to do, and I don't really think that makes anyone look weaker, that would be like saying that you look weaker because you only got one punch in on a 400 lb grizzly bear, if you can stand toe to toe with asuka I feel like that still maintains your credibility, even if you lose)
What I did enjoy from both Fantasy Booking conclusions was Asuka finally meeting her equal in Ember Moon and bow or smile once the dust settled down in her defeat. And thanks to the judges for pointing out the cons to stand beside the pros of both stories.
When this season started, I was hoping it would come down to Tempest v Oli; I'm not happy about this episode tho... Laurie had a ROCK SOLID booking, Tempest had a good one too, but he had a lot to explain afterwards and while he did have very good answers I still feel like Laurie did the better job with the booking as presented. If there were no follow up questions from the judges then Laurie would've had the sweep here, if this was like last year and it was Fan votes on Booking presentation alone, Laurie wins in a landslide. I'm sooo pumped for Tempest v Oli, and Tempest needs to step his game way up if he's gonna "ramp the champ" but I'm not happy about how we got here... Laurie, you deserved better, buds.
Those ifs are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Maybe instead of trying to book the entire women's division, Laurie should have focused on what he was ACTUALLY being asked 🤷
I do believe that the judges are having double standards, they criticise on how it’s booked but then decide to choose the one who disregards those rules or don’t lean into those standards. I think there’s needs to be a new system in place next year where both the audience and judges get a say in the decision before a final verdict.
Great bookings by both men, great points by the panelists, and Laurie bringing up that the fans don’t vote for this had me in stitches. Inner heel is coming out 😂
As much as I liked both stories, there is a BIG plothole omitted from both stories: how did either of them forget Carmella's Money in the Bank briefcase she held onto for nearly a year? Even if it was in passing, either of them could've addressed her failing to cash in on Asuka or instead cash in for the RAW championship since Carmella winning the Smackdown title was one of the biggest post-Mania angles of that year
I mean, she can cash in on an injured Nia Jax at Money in the Bank in the Alexa Bliss spot of 2018 - it's a contract with a full year on it, and it makes sense from a timeline perspective that she holds it longest as due to her being stripped of the case and forced to win a second time, she has an extra five days to use the damn thing. To be honest, that was where I thought we were going when it was mentioned how long she'd held the case as we came up to MitB 2018 in real life - that she was going to be the person to hold the case for the longest before successfully cashing in. Then Ronda can take on 'Mella at the next PPV and handily win the belt. It's not perfect, but then Carmella is the kind of upper midcard heel who benefits most from MitB stories like this and there's not really an argument that her winning the title should lead to anything major considering the calibur of competition who constantly hover around them since at the time, there are only two top belts and nothing else. WWE could really do with establishing a secondary title for the Women's division so that they can get more women into title feuds if they can't think of actual reasons to feud, and so that someone who is a face can be the Workhorse of the Division without needing to be World Champion and thus allowing you to do more smarmy heel stuff such as Big Time Becks or Ronda's Title Run. Hell, let's look at the last two years - Gunther's phenomenal Intercontinental Title Run has been built due to him being an absolute monster Workhorse in the face of a majorly part-time heel champion.
This was a really tough call, but I preferred Tempest's because of the Chamber match. Eliminating her 5 opponents the same way she beat each of them in their previous challenges was a nice touch.
I feel that Laurie was absolutely robbed there. He protected the rest of the roster and created a new star whereas Tempest basically buried everyone for a year. And since I also believe Sully should have beaten Tempest last round the only logical conclusion is that THIS IS A FIX AND TEMPEST BRIBED THE JUDGES!
Felt inspired, wrote my own: Laurie's Rumble finish? Key. I just wouldn't have Ember in it but Baszler, Sasha, Asuka, and (yes) still Brie Bella. Everyone teams up to throw out Shayna, Brie gets thrown by Shayna over the top, Sasha and Shayna eat backfists, Asuka wins. Wins the title versus Charlotte. First contender? Shayna, the new NXT women's champion. Marina Shafir attacks during the match, ending in a DQ. Fans boo, HHH restarts the match. Asuka traps Shayna, who passes out. Shayna returns to NXT (for now), Asuka calls out Marina and beats her in less than 5 minutes. The women's tag champions (the IIconics) hit the ring and corner Asuka. Charlotte makes her return from WM hiatus and stands beside Asuka. The two beat the IIconics, setting up a second match for the tag titles. Asuka refuses the match, saying she doesn't want to carry Charlotte again. The match is changed to a Last Woman Standing match between Charlotte and Asuka at Money in the Bank. Ember Moon wins the contract, and Asuka retains her title in a brutal match. At the PPV, in a singles match, former tag champions Bayley and Sasha face off after both basically blame the other for the loss. Bayley wins in a close match and Sasha attacks her after with a chair, attenpting to Pillmanize her arm. Asuka makes the save, and Bayley is hesitant to accept a hand up. Bayley leaves under her own power. The next week, as Asuka is cutting a promo about how she respects Bayley, Sasha attacks her with a chair, going after Asuka's arm. Returning the favor, Bayley comes down and saves Asuka. The next week, Asuka says 'I wouldn't be standimg her if it wasn't for you. Anything you want is yours'. Bayley says 'You know what I've been wanting since I was a little kid. A ti...' SD GM of the month JBL comes out. Bayley needs to beat someone else who deserves the title, a returning Shayna. Shayna initially beats Bayley but gets DQd for not releasing the hold. Match can't end like that says JBL, so it's restarted. Shayna locks in the submission, but Bayley rolls her onto her shoulders and doesn't break the hold in time. Bayley versus Asuka at Summerslam. Big build, Asuka is no longer the underdog, Bayley is no longer the aspiring hopeful. They've come into their own and it's a classic. At the end, Bayley covers Asuka with her feet on the ropes and Asuka kicks out. Dismayed, Asuka hits a diving back fist for the empathic win and refuses Bayley's hand. She mentions how this title has cost her friends and how she should be happy but sometimes winning hurts more than losing. Bayley, reeling from her loss to Asuka loses a return match with Sasha, and Sasha finally Pillmanizes the arm, with Asuka nowhere to be seen. Sasha loses at Hell in a Cell but Asuka bleeds for the first time on the main roster. The next week, she cuts a promo in her entrance mask saying she bled and 'Asuka doesn't like that..' before taking the mask off, revealing crazed face paint and saying 'But Kana does' as she smiles wickedly. At Survivor Series, Asuka goes to a 30 minute draw with Ronda who destroys the ringside area after the match. Becky Lynch, face busted up and defiant, cuts off Asuka on SD, saying she wants a piece. JBL stops her, saying she isn't cleared and fans boo. Paige's music hits, and she gets into Asuka's face. 'She's not.. I AM!' And hits Rampaige before lifting the belt over her head. Asuka, incensed, demands a match with Paige. Once again, Asuka goes to a time limit draw. JBL makes the rematch at the Rumble a triple threat match with Toni Storm, given the chance after winning the Mae Young Classic. Paige has Toni beat, but Asuka steals the pin, laughing and running away with the belt. Toni arrives on SD, and Asuka beats her down. Paige makes the save, but it's now going to be Paige versus Toni for an EC qualifiying match. Joining Toni are BOTH IIconics (who help each other win their qualifiers), Nia, Asuka, and a debuting Iyo Shirai. Asuka starts with Toni, and they take out one IIconic before fighting again. They team up to eliminate Nia and fight again. Asuka hits Toni with an errant backfist and the IIconic pin Toni. Iyo enters and she and Asuka crush her, leaving the two to face off. They shake hands but Iyo tosses Asuka into the pod and slams the door on her, leading to Asuka and Iyo flipping the babyface / heel role. Asuka's still a bit of an asshole, but she's got the fans respect (very much like an MJF type). She kicks the door into Iyo's face and hits two backfisfs to end a 20 minute classic the finish the Chamber match. The next night, Becky (who still wins the Rumble) challenges Ronda and Asuka is incensed. She demands Becky to face her, she is the dominant, she had Ronda. She would have won. Asuka was standing, Ronda just survived. Becky refuses, so Asuka attacks both Becky and Ronda just 3 weeks before WM. HHH, not seen from in months, arrives, confirming it will be a triple threat match. But we need two champions. So at WM, it will be winner take all, for this.. the Undisputed Women's Championship. At WM, Asuka continues her dominance, becoming the first woman to pin Ronda BUT she doesn't win the match, because it's not just a triple threat match. It's a triple threat elimination match. So no one can say 'I didn't lose, I wasn't pinned!' HHH wants there to be no excuses and no doubts when everything is said and done. Becky holds the title, on her knees, clearly very emotional and opens the next night on Raw (admitting she's on SD but couldn't wait 4 more days) when Ember Moon cashes in for a match at Backlash. Later on Raw, HHH announces a tournament to crown a new Women's World Champion and none of the contenders are Ronda or Asuka (who have yet another time limit draw, better than their first and this time 60 minutes, at Backlash and hug after the match). Ronda can take a hiatus while Asuka reconciles with Iyo and they go on a run with the tag titles, elevating them considerably in the process.
Have Asuka dominate all the way to the rumble. Afterwards she challenges Ronda and its streak vs Ronda's perfect rookie year. Have Becky still win the rumble and the main event of mania stays the same, but with Asuka instead of Charlotte.
The part I don't understand about either booking is the complete disregard of Carmella and her MitB looming. That is a big plot thread, but it just sounds like she was booked to hold onto it and never cash in. Some address of that would have gone a long way
Ohhhhhhh my. I was hoping Adam would have made this video for the longest time but now the topic is finally here! And I'll get to hear two pitches! I can't wait.
The last kick Ember Moon kicks out of, make it look sickening (Ember's leg twitching, Asuka looking over the carcass. Slowly pins, refs hand comes down for Ember to kick out BEFORE 1. Stunning Asuka, Firing up Ember to lead to the rest of Tempest's story. Just a little WWE/AEW cinematic for the home audience
Personally I think Carmella should have ended Asuka's streak and won the SmackDown Women's Championship in the process either at WrestleMania or 2 nights later like in real life because it would have made Carmella the biggest heel in WWE Women's History since she not only ended Asuka's streak but robbed us of potentially another great title reign. As far as this fantasy booking goes I think Tempest should have had Asuka beat the 4 Horsewomen at the Big 4 (Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34, Sasha Banks at SummerSlam, Bayley at Survivor Series, Becky Lynch at Royal Rumble). Have Asuka and Charlotte Flair rematch two nights later where Carmella cashes in during the match and Asuka retains after pinning Charlotte Flair. Carmella talks her way into a rematch at Backlash where she loses to Asuka then Asuka defeats Io Shirai in an Extreme Rules match at Extreme Rules match, Kairi Sane in a ladder match at Money In The Bank, Naomi inside Hell In A Cell at Hell In A Cell, and Toni Storm in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. At Evolution she should defeat Meiko and at Elimination Chamber 2019, she should defeat The Riot Squad and Fire & Desire with Ruby Riot coming out last. Alternatively have Carmella cash in at Backlash and get her rematch at Extreme Rules then have a triple threat match between Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Iyo Sky at Money In The Bank. But even though I would change more his booking than Laurie's, I still think Tempest had the better booking because we got more matches with Asuka as opposed to more deja vu.
Sometimes it feels like Michael be being difficult just to be difficult 😂 bro be in his head tryna come up with the most outlandish question he can think of.
37:05 I’m so much on Laurie’s side here, and I’m getting pissed off because the semantics favors his narrative, not the other way around like how Michael keeps badgering.
While they were both good I really would have given it to Laurie, they say Tempest's is more simple but I disagree, I feel like with the Kairi debut being executed that way, and then Meiko, Io, and Toni all sorta happening at the same time was alot to take in and I agree that the division feels kinda run through by the end so idk Laurie's was alot easier to take in and it still told a great story of Ember's redemption, and built up a great challenger in Shayna. Definitely not what id pick but at least Luke isn't in the finals lol
Judges: this video is about asukas streak, but where is Ronda Rousey,? Laurie: here she is I booked her and she's completely pointless to the prompt, but she's here For as much as Lori's booking is the one we would probably want to see, tempest definitely deserved the win here, because he definitely booked the prompt and made it the focus of his booking, where is Laurie book The more fleshed out version of the women's division that can thrive after the streak is over, but it kind of made the streak itself feel like an afterthought, I'm happy they gave tempest the win for this one, it just seemed hilarious to me that they were badgering tempest for not making the women's division look strong, and not trying to give fans more of a reason to watch the show after the streak ends, the show is called fantasy booking warfare, you are given a prompt and asked to book that prompt to the best of your ability,, you shouldn't have to book a women's division that can survive the streak, because again the point of the video was to book The streak (props to Laurie though because you had a really fleshed out scenario that you put out there, and they are right about the fact that yours would be the one I would want to watch play out more)
I wish these were even slightly unscripted. Laurie's was so much better but they just wanted Oli vs Tempest in the Finale. such a stupid panel of judges
I don't really think he did, putting up a fight against Oscar in her prime is the equivalent to going toe-to-toe with a grizzly bear (at least that's what it is meant to feel like/so I don't really think anyone who loses to or comes off as worse, just because tempest lists off all the people she beats, doesn't mean she squashed them all, because remember asuka can at least put on long form matches unlike Goldberg, so most of the women she faces would still come off looking strong
Tempest has had the toughest/closest rounds out of everyone. His round against Sullivan was close but I think the slightly better booking won. This time round though I feel Laurie had the slightly better booking. The judges said it themselves, in Tempests version Asuka has absolutely dominated the whole division making them look weak. Laurie on the other hand has a handful of women and multiple stories that could follow on from Mania. Congrats to Tempest though, looking forward to hear what the topic for the final is going to cover 👍
How I would Book Rhea Ripley losing her title and other stuff Part 1, Part 2 is continued in a reply to this comment So on the Raw after Survivor Series, Rhea in in the Judgement Day locker room and a WWE intern walks in and hands Rhea an envelope and inside is a black piece of paper with red lettering with a message that says "Your time is coming to an end." Rhea asks the intern "is this a joke?" and she says "no i swear." and Rhea shoves the intern into the wall and the intern runs away. The following week on Raw, Rhea is getting ready for a match, she goes to grab her title and she sees another message taped to the inside of the title strap that says, "I wanna have fun." The next week on Raw Rhea attacks Shayna, Zoey, Nia, Candice, Indi, Raquel, Ivy Nile, hoping one of them is the culprit. At the end of the show Rhea walks into Judgement Day's locker room. She finds a mask that's half red and half blue, it has yellow swirls on it for eyes and a yellow mouth drawn on it. Rhea looks inside the mask where it says, "I can see you, can you see me?" On the next Raw, Rhea opens the show demanding whoever is leaving her messages to come out now. Out comes Becky Lynch who says she's not responsible, however is Rhea's opponent for the Royal Rumble. Also during the show Dominik is himself, barges into a meeting between Adam Pierce, Ricochet, Chad Gable & Xavier Woods. Pierce says it's great to see Dom, because he was going to tell Dom his next opponent for his Title. Dom says he doesn't care who it is, he'll beat anybody. Pierce says well his Opponents are the three gentlemen in the office, his title defense is the main event of the evening & the rest of judgment day is banned from ringside. The Alpha Academy are walking to the ring for Otis's match with Apollo Crews, Maxxine Dupri notices Tegan Nox by herself and says that Tegan should join which Tegan declines Maxxine suggest they do a tag match sometime before Alpha Academy walks off A little bit later in the show Dominik is getting encouragement from Judgement day, the camera is showing Domink making his way to the ring. When he turns a corner a mysterious woman wearing an outfit that's half-red & blue and wearing a mask like the one Rhea found is following Dom. The show the goes to commercial, it comes back with Ricochet making his entrance to the ring, followed by Chad Gable and Xaiver Woods. The music for Dominik plays but he doesn't come out. After a few seconds of silence, Pierce walks to the ring, saying no one can find Dominik. The rest of the judgment day ran out to the ring with Rhea saying "What do you mean he can't be found?" The screen goes static and then security footage of the parking lot is shown. Where the masked woman has put an unconscious Dominik in the backseat of a car & she's holding a crowbar. The masked woman looks up at the camera and waves. The titantron goes black and words in red appear and say "Can you see me now Rhea?" Which is how Raw goes off the air. On Raw things are obviously hectic, Adam Pierce is confronted by Shawn Michaels asking what are they going to do about the North American Championship???? And yeah Dom too. Judgement Day comes out to tell Pierce and Shawn, but Shawn points out whoever this Masked Woman is wants Rhea. So if Thea gives her a title match maybe Dom will get brought back, to which Rhea says she'll find this woman and end her. Shawn says so be it, but in the meantime they're going to have Ricochet, Xaiver Woods, Chad Gable, Jey Uso, Bron Breakker, Dijak & Tyler Bate battle for the NXT European Championship in a ladder match at the Royal Rumble. During the Show Becky taunts Rhea before wrestling Xia Li, Rhea comes out to get involved but Rhea ends up costing Li instead. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeat the Creed Brothers, Otis & Akira Tozawa and Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser in a fatal 4-way qualifying match for the Triple Threat Undisputed Tag Team Championship Match at the Royal Rumble Maxxine Dupri & Tegan Nox win a Tag Match against Zoey Stark & Shayna Bazsler For the Main event of Raw it's Seth Rollins vs Bronson Reed, Damian Priest comes out during the match. The ref goes down, Damian comes in to hit Seth with his MITB briefcase, however Seth dodges and Bronson gets hit instead. Seth hits Damian with a superkick, knocking him out of the ring and then Seth hits Bronson with a stop on the briefcase. Seth then pins Reed, Seth gets the title and starts walking up the ramp, watching Reed yell at Priest. The tron then goes static and live footage of an unconscious Finn Balor in the backseat of a car is playing, the door is closed. A crowbar is tapped on the door, the camera pans to show the masked woman, before the screen cuts to black, ending Raw. On Smackdown, AJ Styles & Karl Anderson defeat Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde, Grayson Waller & Austin Theory and Elton Prince & Kit Wilson in a qualifying tag match for the Triple Tag Title Match at the Rumble. On the next Raw, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley & JD McDonaugh demand for Adam Pierce to come out. They ask Pierce what he is going to do about this Masked Woman. Pierce replies the authorities are working on it, but in the meantime WWE has to keep going, it's the nature of the beast.
Part 2 of this booking Damian says he doesn't have a tag partner or the other half of the Tag titles. Pierce says first he is holding two tag titles so that's not a problem and says he does have a partner, JD McDonaugh. Pierce says the Judgement Day like all teams can use the freebird rule to defend the Tag championships, so JD can defend the Tag Titles with Damian at the Rumble. Maxxine & Tegan defeat Nia & Nikki because Nikki just walks off leaving Nia alone, but Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn come out to greet Nikki, making them a trio. Becky and Rhea have a contract signing for their match, the two go back and forth at each other. Becky opens up the contract to sign it, but gets surprised. Rhea asks what she's doing? Becky pulls out a small black piece of paper, opens it and it says with red lettering. "You haven't answered me Rhea." Becky and Rhea each carefully sign the contract, the grandson goes black with the message "I'll be watching." On screen, which is how the go home Raw to the Rumble ends. During the Royal Rumble, Priest & JD can't get on the same page, which allows AJ Styles & Karl Anderson to win the Tag Titles. Jey Uso wins the New European Championship. Zelina Vega wins the Women's Rumble, Sami Zayn wins the Intercontinental Championship, Jey & Cody help dispatch Vinci & Kaiser. Rhea successfully defends against Becky, after that match The Masked Woman wearing The NA Title around her waist hops up on the apron. Priest & JD come out to the ring. Rhea yells "Where is Dom & Finn!!!" The Masked Woman points at the Tron. It shows footage of the same car The Masked Woman has been using in the parking lot. Damian & JD run to the parking lot, the camera crew are struggling to keep up. They get to the parking lot, Damian opens the car doors and where Finn and Dom are unconscious but alive. Rhea turns to the Woman and she points at Rhea's title, before running off. Following that on the show, Seth Rollins defeats Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre & Tommaso Ciampa, Lastly Gunther wins the Men's Rumble. On the Raw after Mania Gunther challenges Seth for a mania Match, Seth accepts the match. Rhea calls out the Masked Woman, but instead it's Nia, Candice, Shayna, Zoey, Raquel, Ivy & Indi who all want a piece of Rhea after she attacked all of them two months ago, They all jump Rhea, laying her out. Adam Pierce then comes out and says Rhea will defend her Title against all of those women inside the Elimination Chamber. Walking up behind Pierce is the masked woman still wearing the NA Title. Pierce turns around and says on the Mic "What should we call you?" The Masked Woman says "Charley." With an AI disguised voice. As Charley starts to walk off, Dom confronts Charley demanding his NA Title, Charley kicks him in the balls and leaves. Later that night Charley has a match against Chelsea Green, where Charley creeps out Chelsea and wins. Charley raises the NA Title she has acting like she's the NA champion. Jey Uso, Sami Zayn & Cody Rhodes have a promo together where Jey & Sami are celebrating their wins. Cody says since Roman doesn't have an opponent he asks to be in the chamber Match to decide Roman's mania opponent. Dom comes out and demands Jey hand over his Title since Dom has his stolen. Jey says Charley is Judgement Day's problem not his, but Jey says he'll defend his European Title against Dom at Elimination Chamber, but Dom must agree to everyone else being banned from ringside so it's truly 1 v 1 to which Dom agrees to. During the show a graphic appears on the train showing that the Elimination Chamber Match is Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Santos Escobar, Kevin Owens, Sheamus, Karron Kross & LA Knight. Damian Priest & Finn Balor are given a Tag Title Rematch against AJ Styles & Karl Anderson at Elimination Chamber. Charley is found by Becky who says she's not afraid of her and since Charley has a title how about she defends it against her to which Charley simply nods. Also online Kiana James & Tiffany Stratton had been "making fun" of Maxxine Dupri & Tegan Nox so on NXT the four will be having a match. In a segment Piper Niven is consoling Chelsea Green in the trainer's room. Adam Pierce walks in to see how Chelsea is doing, Piper says to Pierce she wants to get payback on Charley and wants to take that title from Charley, to which Pierce says it's now a triple threat. In the main event Rhea is facing Katana Chance, Rhea's chamber Opponents all come out to watch. Rhea is distracted which allows Katana to stay in the match. Rhea manages to win, but her chamber opponents run into the ring and Rhea manages to escape, Charley silently walks up behind Rhea and hits her with a crowbar. The ending scene of Raw the other women's reaction to Charley as her music plays. On NXT Maxxine & Tegan defeat Kiana & Tiffany and after the Match Maxxine offers Tegan to join Alpha Academy along with the other AA Members to which Tegan accepts. On Smackdown Zelina challenges Iyo Sky to a title match at Mania. Fast forwarding to the Elimination Chamber, Charley successfully defends the North American Championship against Becky & Piper by pinning Piper. Jey Uso successfully defends the European Championship against Dom Styles & Anderson successfully defend the Tag Titles against Balor & Priest. Sami Zayn successfully defends the Intercontinental Championship against Ludwig Kaiser & JD McDonaugh by pinning Ludwig. Rhea retains her championship in the chamber. Iyo Sky successfully defends the WWE Women's Title against Bianca, Isla Dawn & Mia Yim. And Cody wins the Chamber for a WWE Title match at mania. For Mania 40 Rhea Ripley faces Charley in a He'll in a Cell match for both Women's World & North American Championships which Charley wins and then she unmasks to reveal that it's Liv Morgan. Zelina Vega beats Iyo Sky for the WWE Women's Championship. Damian Priest cashes-in his MITB Briefcase during the Seth vs Gunther match, beat both for the World Heavyweight Championship There's a massive Tag Team Gauntlet Match for the Women's Tag Team Titles. Maxxine Dupri & Tegan Nox win the match against Chelsea Green & Piper Niven, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance, Bayley & Kairi Sane, Zoey Stark & Shayna Bazsler, Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae, Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, Roxxane Perez & Gigi Dolin, Tiffany Stratton & Kiana James and Cora Jade & Blair Davenport. Bronson Reed wins the Andre Battle Royal. Sami Zayn successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against McIntyre, Gable, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Ludwig Kaiser, Ricochet & Kofi Kingston in a ladder match. Jey Uso successfully defends the European Championship against Jimmy Uso. Solo Sikoa beats Logan Paul for the United States Championship. Cody Rhodes defeats Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship. On Raw after Mania, Liv said she went crazy while being injured watching Rhea and remembering Rhea turning on her. So she knew she could out power Rhea, however she could play psychological warfare. And she knew how to make Rhea tick, Liv says she gave Rhea clues that it was her all along. Liv's Harley Quinn style colors on the outfit, the horror vibes on all the messages & that she used the name Charley which is a nickname for her favorite horror Villain Charles Lee Ray aka Chucky. Liv ends by saying "Do you see me now?" Before laughing.
I’m shocked by that decision. Laurie had the more concise idea and left a bunch of women setup for interesting stories for the coming year while booking Asuka how she should have always been booked. Tempest ran through an entire division of women and by wrestlemania I would have gotten sad Asuka’s streak was over and no longer cared about the women’s division because I wasn’t left with anyone to care about. Laurie was robbed
I’m…not really a fan of either of these bookings. It just boils down to “have Asuka beat everyone except for Ember Moon because basically ‘finish the story’”. Personally, I would have Asuka’s streak be broken by a major heel, in order to put over a new major threat.
Tempest's booking could have used a promo AFTER the Money in the Bank, on Smackdown, where Ember Moon says she isn't ready for Asuka. Right after the win seems...off.
The way to book the end of Asuka's streak is to have it happen The Smackdown after Wrestlemania where she beats Charlotte. Know the angle they did where the IIconics made their debut and beat down a not 100% Charlotte and then Carmella came out and cashed in on her? Thats what you do, except instead of Charlotte losing the title that way. Have it be Asuka. The IIconics get themselves over by beating up a battle worn Asuka and then Carmella cashes in and ends the current longest streak in WWE via MITB cash in. The amount of nuclear heat that would get already starts Carmella on the right foot as a heel Champ. It gets over the IIconics as a heel duo threat and it protects Asuka on losing her streak but she keeps her aura. Everybody wins in that scenario! But Vince gonna Vince.
Well I'll stick *Spoilers Warning* In my opinion, Laurie should have won. Sure, Tempest booked more to the actual streak but honestly that falls of a cliff post horsewoman, who he goes through quickly. His only hope is that the Mae Young Classic becomes really for reasons. Also having 5 top stars all pinned by Asuka at Elimination Chamber makes them all look really weak and you'd have to waste 3+ months afterwards trying to build all of them up. Meanwhile Laurie books a satisfying conclusion and while the forced break in the middle is a bit of a down, I think the time undefeated and follow-up build provides reasoning enough to allow Asuka to comeback strong. Alongside this Ember Moon earns her final match through impressive performances and leaves and exciting roster heading into the post streak era.
I would have gone with Laurie's booking. Tempest's booking is strong and gives Asuka a character, but it really does come at the expense of the entire women's division. Yes, you don't make the plucky ones afraid of Asuka and want to challenge her, but at the same time Tempest was booking a beatdown of the women's division. No one was ready for Asuka, thus no one earned her respect. And then suddenly that became her character and she was a heel now. Didn't really like that. I did like the extra star power Tempest inserted aside from the 4 Horsewomen. That was a nice touch. But, in the end Tempest's universe 'is' missing The Man Becky Lynch. The one complaint I have with Laurie's is that Ember is too booked. She's suffering from an injury and still beats Asuka? C'mon. It's a great story for her earning her shot at Asuka, but don't pull a 2021 Cody Rhodes on us. And lastly for both, I get why they chose Ember Moon, but at the same time this would have been a perfect chance to build someone completely new/deserving. Ember already was NXT Women's champ and had a good run. She already has history with Asuka. This would have been a great chance to build someone else.
I love Excalibur breaking down not using Ronda Rousey in his booking, Focus on Asuka and the Smackdown women's Roster and use Ronda to boost the Raw Division and not have one Built on the back of the other
I lean on the side of Laurie ever so slightly for this one but they were both great actually and I'm not upset to see Tempest being the one to move on here. Go topple the boss man Tempest.
The right person won here. While I liked Laurie's booking generally, I felt Tempest's was stronger. Sometimes you don't need some overly complex story. Sometimes you just need something simple, concise and straight forward. I mean let's look at it this way. Roman's reign up through WrestleMania this year was pretty lauded as fantastic. Beating everyone put in his path. It's only when the payoff didn't happen at Mania that people really started to turn sour in full on the reign. With Asuka you get the same kind of dominant champion, you get a face to heel arc AND you get the CONCLUSION of the story with a new champion being crowned and the previous champ's current story being finished and ready to move onto the next one. So yea, like I said in the beginning the right person won here. But both did a really solid job. Kudos to you both.
While I do agree Tempest booked the better story for Asuka, Laurie booked the better story for WWE. It fully depends on what your looking at. The judges were likely looking at how the two booked Asuka so I do agree, as a self contained booking, Tempest's is better. BUT as an actual in real life booking, Laurie smokes Tempest.
Tempest smashed this out of the park. If "How Blank Would Have Booked" episodes are to become a regular part of partsFUNknown's video output again, I think Tempest would be an excellent candidate.
Both great, hard to choose but I'm going to miss Laurie just being Laurie😂. Might have to have a losers bracket for that one. Tempest you savage! These are great
random idea. how about a fan vote to make it a triple threat and well choose one person whom we think shouldnt have gone out to add to the triple at the end (or we think would be most balls out im sure luke will get votes for that) but if i had that vote i think it would be tough between luke, for his insanity (but not really) laurie here or dan who 100% should have beaten luke in round 1 but the judges wanted to meme on us or something.
im a bit confussed on what the judges want out of some of these. on the one side they question how strong asuka is in one booking and then on the other question weather she was strong enough. in this case i absolutely think laurie won that (close though tempest your booking was very good but it does leave a basically dead womens division) i am also not sure why "where ronda" being answered with "because i diddnt want to do them yet so shes not involved" gets the green light and "is that okay for a streak?" being answered with "well historically thats exactly how theyve worked (including part of this same stream over a year ago at that point btw) doesnt. overall im happy with both of these bookings even if i do disagree but the judges confound logic sometimes.
Heel Panel robs Laurie. The injury and vacating of the title may not have been super helpful, but how can we keep letting people through who book absolute nonsense (looking at Oli and Luke's round one wins)? Tempest did a solid job here but at he built a single challenger and the whole division suffered by the end.
I don't like Tempest booking to be honest, and I think it's because the "Mae Young Classic arc", it starts with Asuka facing the winner of the tournament Toni Storm, and later face Meiko Satomura (semifinalist) and Io Shirai (finalists), don't get me wrong, I would've love to see those matches IRL, but for a casual fan, why would people care about two newcomers who lost a tournament challenging the undefeated champion, when the winner of the tournament already lost against said champion? If Tempest wanted to acknowledge the Mae Young Classic, he should have built more Tony Storm to made her the challenger at Royal Rumble, not make her face Asuka instantly and then going down with two less credible challenges. It's a shame because Asuka turning heel by becoming desperate to have someone to beat her sounds really interesting, but damn, having almost 4 months of filler would be horrible not only for the division, even for the streak because no one would expect those newcomers with almost no build up to break it
I didn't like that neither booking included the one woman who actually came the closest to ending Asuka's streak pre Mania 34 and that being Nikki Cross she should've had a place in this booking.
it was the same year point is Nikki Cross still should've been involved with both bookings especially if you are gonna involve people from Asuka's past @@urbaindelva7869
Wwe needs to hire this guy to book asuka before she retires i don't like ember moon i hate her wrestling skills and character asuka should lose her title to kairi sane at WrestleMania
To be fair, either booking is better than Vince McMahon's 'I don't know what to do with or I hate having Japanese talent on my roster' booking. I mean, this man is almost as bad as TNA literally having Tanahashi and Okada on the same roster and doing NOTHING with them for a solid year. Granted, Vince had the fucking ULTIMO DRAGAON on his roster for almost as long and squandered him.
I honestly HATE these judges. These used to be so much more fun when it was just the guys doing their pitches and then letting us vote. The judges are trying to make this way more complicated than it needs to be.
The only problem I had with Laurie’s was that by removing Charlotte from the Lynch/Ronda match, we don’t get to see Flair’s fantastic knee to Ronda on the go home show to Mania. Even then, that doesn’t affect the actual fantasy booking, so was this a pointless comment? Probably
I really disagree with the outcome of this one.
*SPOILER ZONE*
I think Laurie nailed it with the division argument. Tempests booking may have been the more epic story and a bigger moment on paper. But Lauries booking provided a much more compelling view on the whole division at that time. I would rather see Laurie's booking come to fluition because at the end of that story there is so much more excitement to keep watching the product.
That’s the difference though, isn’t it?
What was the prompt? Booking the WWE 2018 women’s division? Or booking Asuka’s streak?
1. *Skip to **1:50**, **15:09** & **28:59*
Genuinely baffled me that was even a point. Rousey could easily be involved in the RAW match
@@austindrinksfanta Besides, after the year she’s had, it’s really funny to hear several people go “You know what we need? More Ronda Rousey matches”.
@@theoneandonlymichaelmccormick Lmaoo
@@austindrinksfanta I also personally cannot stand her as a performer, or as a person, and never understood her hype.
@@theoneandonlymichaelmccormickSame which is why that's a weird criticism to bring up. The less Ronda the better lolol
Laurie was robbed!!! The way he fixed the past while honoring the things that worked great was excellent!!
Agreed lol they have some weird choices, at least Luke isn't in the finals lol
I agree. Both are very logical but Laurie has a bit more callbacks and building from the past
So tempest booking for asuka part of it is sort of like kraven in spiderman 2 game where asuka just wants an equal, a challenge that can beat her
I do believe that the judges are having double standards, they criticise on how it’s booked but then decide to choose the one who disregards those rules or don’t lean into those standards. I think there’s needs to be a new system in place next year where both the audience and judges get a say in the decision before a final verdict.
Laurie's delivery is something else
Going into this I expected Tempest to destory this round flawlessly again but Laurie stepped up and I ligitmatly can't pick between the two bookings.
Getting some Kagetsu vibes from Tempest's booking, in the best way ;)
I like Laurie's too, but I think he lost the lead a little and left me wondering what wins Asuka is stockpiling as the fire rises.
Even if it was in passing, either of them could've addressed her failing to cash in on Asuka or instead cash in for the RAW championship since Carmella winning the Smackdown title was one of the biggest post-Mania angles of that year
I was thinking the same thing, it at least deserved a mention, especially in Tempest's where he skipped right to the next MITB match.
Laurie was robbed. Tempest did good but Laurie kept the whole division feeling more interesting.
This side of the bracket has been so much better than the other, I’d almost be unfair if Ollie wins the tournament.
Felt inspired, wrote my own:
Laurie's Rumble finish?
Well, unless Oli can seriously improve his performance I think we just saw the real finals everyone!
I'm going to have to start a channel of fantasy bookings JUST so I can eventually get on this, aren't I?
...
Yeah, I thought so.
Best part of these videos is the way Nina introduces herself🔥
The lil shoulder thing is a serotonin boost
While they were both good I really would have given it to Laurie, they say Tempest's is more simple but I disagree, I feel like with the Kairi debut being executed that way, and then Meiko, Io, and Toni all sorta happening at the same time was alot to take in and I agree that the division feels kinda run through by the end so idk Laurie's was alot easier to take in and it still told a great story of Ember's redemption, and built up a great challenger in Shayna. Definitely not what id pick but at least Luke isn't in the finals lol
Ember Moon absolutely should’ve been the one to dethrone Asuka. She always had her number while just falling short.
This honestly might’ve been the best round of Fantasy Booking Warfare out of the two you guys had.
I kinda wanna see the judges book their own scenarios against the losers of previous rounds 😂
Judges: this video is about asukas streak, but where is Ronda Rousey,?
Laurie: here she is I booked her and she's completely pointless to the prompt, but she's here
For as much as Lori's booking is the one we would probably want to see, tempest definitely deserved the win here, because he definitely booked the prompt and made it the focus of his booking, where is Laurie book The more fleshed out version of the women's division that can thrive after the streak is over, but it kind of made the streak itself feel like an afterthought, I'm happy they gave tempest the win for this one, it just seemed hilarious to me that they were badgering tempest for not making the women's division look strong, and not trying to give fans more of a reason to watch the show after the streak ends, the show is called fantasy booking warfare, you are given a prompt and asked to book that prompt to the best of your ability,, you shouldn't have to book a women's division that can survive the streak, because again the point of the video was to book The streak (props to Laurie though because you had a really fleshed out scenario that you put out there, and they are right about the fact that yours would be the one I would want to watch play out more)
Love how tempest gave Asuka a Gojo/Sakuna type story line
I wish these were even slightly unscripted. Laurie's was so much better but they just wanted Oli vs Tempest in the Finale. such a stupid panel of judges
At the end I was like "Oh... Tempest did a good job but obviously Laurie wins-HUH, WHAT!?" I suppose I am a Dummy, YEAH...
Well done, kids!
Best line: "She's a full moon!" - Laurie Blake of Ember Moon
Tempest kinda buried the entire roster ngl
How I would Book Rhea Ripley losing her title and other stuff Part 1, Part 2 is continued in a reply to this comment
So on the Raw after Survivor Series, Rhea in in the Judgement Day locker room and a WWE intern walks in and hands Rhea an envelope and inside is a black piece of paper with red lettering with a message that says "Your time is coming to an end."
Rhea asks the intern "is this a joke?" and she says "no i swear." and Rhea shoves the intern into the wall and the intern runs away.
The following week on Raw, Rhea is getting ready for a match, she goes to grab her title and she sees another message taped to the inside of the title strap that says, "I wanna have fun."
The next week on Raw Rhea attacks Shayna, Zoey, Nia, Candice, Indi, Raquel, Ivy Nile, hoping one of them is the culprit.
At the end of the show Rhea walks into Judgement Day's locker room. She finds a mask that's half red and half blue, it has yellow swirls on it for eyes and a yellow mouth drawn on it.
Rhea looks inside the mask where it says, "I can see you, can you see me?"
On the next Raw, Rhea opens the show demanding whoever is leaving her messages to come out now.
The Alpha Academy are walking to the ring for Otis's match with Apollo Crews, Maxxine Dupri notices Tegan Nox by herself and says that Tegan should join which Tegan declines
Maxxine suggest they do a tag match sometime before Alpha Academy walks off
A little bit later in the show Dominik is getting encouragement from Judgement day, the camera is showing Domink making his way to the ring.
The rest of the judgment day ran out to the ring with Rhea saying "What do you mean he can't be found?"
The screen goes static and then security footage of the parking lot is shown.
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeat the Creed Brothers, Otis & Akira Tozawa and Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser in a fatal 4-way qualifying match for the Triple Threat Undisputed Tag Team Championship Match at the Royal Rumble
Maxxine Dupri & Tegan Nox win a Tag Match against Zoey Stark & Shayna Bazsler
For the Main event of Raw it's Seth Rollins vs Bronson Reed, Damian Priest comes out during the match.
Part 2 of this booking
Damian says he doesn't have a tag partner or the other half of the Tag titles.
"You haven't answered me Rhea."
Becky and Rhea each carefully sign the contract, the grandson goes black with the message "I'll be watching." On screen, which is how the go home Raw to the Rumble ends.

Both of them ignoring that Carmella had the MitB Briefcase is both a welcome surprise and what WWE should have done.
THE MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOOOOOR! FANTASY BOOKING WARFARE WOOOOOO!
Honestly
I liked both
Thank God for Tempest and Laurie's booking throughout these videos
in Tempest story what happened to MITB holder Carmella? It just when to Ember Moon somehow
Lots of middle fingers lately lads. WrestleTalk attitude era confirmed?
This is what asuka career would've been if triple h was in charge back in 2017 2018
I’m shocked by that decision.
I like Tenpests pitch, but I wouldn’t have worked
If 2023 has taught me anything, it’s that the crowd just did not watch NXT
I’m…not really a fan of either of these bookings. It just boils down to “have Asuka beat everyone except for Ember Moon because basically ‘finish the story’”. Personally, I would have Asuka’s streak be broken by a major heel, in order to put over a new major threat.
Tempest's booking could have used a promo AFTER the Money in the Bank, on Smackdown, where Ember Moon says she isn't ready for Asuka. Right after the win seems...off.
For the final, Oli & Tempest should rebook WrestleMania 9. I think the Shield triple threat has been fantasy booked already before.
Tempests is basically Ronda where she buried the division and Alexa bliss wasn’t involved so automatically a failure as she would’ve beat her
The way to book the end of Asuka's streak is to have it happen The Smackdown after Wrestlemania where she beats Charlotte.
I'll take the "dummies" label. Lol Laurie still got my not a vote.
Laurie's booking was better. MUCH more thoughtful.
Well I'll stick *Spoilers Warning*
In my opinion, Laurie should have won.
Laurie called us DUMMYS . YEAH
Honestly thought Laurie should have gone to the finale 😢
Tempest was far worse like wtf 😂 thank God they have no say
I love the shady pan overs to the judges 😄
I agree with the majority of the comment section and think they picked the wrong person in the end
Can’t lie these 3 are a bit dodgy as a judging panel to put it nicely 😂 get Laurie and Tempest to judge a next one lol
I love Excalibur breaking down not using Ronda Rousey in his booking, Focus on Asuka and the Smackdown women's Roster and use Ronda to boost the Raw Division and not have one Built on the back of the other
Aj Lee v Asuka..who would you book to win.
Both were Good...but I think Laurie's was Little bit Better....
I lean on the side of Laurie ever so slightly for this one but they were both great actually and I'm not upset to see Tempest being the one to move on here. Go topple the boss man Tempest.
I had for a while been booking Asuka vs Kairi at mania (then try to write in Io in plans for another time)
The right person won here.
Carmella had the MITB briefcase because she did cash in on Charlotte after Wrestlemania. So what happened to her and the briefcase?
This should’ve been El Fakador Vs Tempest
Laurie has to win this surely
:(
While I do agree Tempest booked the better story for Asuka, Laurie booked the better story for WWE.
This was the most obvious win in fantasy booking history. Hydrogen bomb vs terrified child.
Both great, hard to choose but I'm going to miss Laurie just being Laurie😂. Might have to have a losers bracket for that one. Tempest you savage! These are great
random idea. how about a fan vote to make it a triple threat and well choose one person whom we think shouldnt have gone out to add to the triple at the end (or we think would be most balls out im sure luke will get votes for that) but if i had that vote i think it would be tough between luke, for his insanity (but not really) laurie here or dan who 100% should have beaten luke in round 1 but the judges wanted to meme on us or something.
im a bit confussed on what the judges want out of some of these. on the one side they question how strong asuka is in one booking and then on the other question weather she was strong enough. in this case i absolutely think laurie won that (close though tempest your booking was very good but it does leave a basically dead womens division)
i am also not sure why "where ronda" being answered with "because i diddnt want to do them yet so shes not involved" gets the green light and "is that okay for a streak?" being answered with "well historically thats exactly how theyve worked (including part of this same stream over a year ago at that point btw) doesnt.
overall im happy with both of these bookings even if i do disagree but the judges confound logic sometimes.
Tempest wearing a hat while still wearing his mask is great
42:28 Absolute savagery!
Tempest for the win 🏆
I love everyone involved but man they got that wrong
loved turning Asuka into the Undertaker
I see Laurie with the stop and start askua’s streak was his downfall.
That was almost a year prior. I would say Ember Moon was closer.
it was the same year point is Nikki Cross still should've been involved with both bookings especially if you are gonna involve people from Asuka's past @@urbaindelva7869
Wwe needs to hire this guy to book asuka before she retires i don't like ember moon i hate her wrestling skills and character asuka should lose her title to kairi sane at WrestleMania
You can't say you've faced the best until you've faced the boss
You know if they keep coming back with these they are very much a worthy replacement for the Redacted Books series.
Wait so is this about who's the crappier booker?
Special guests once again proving why wrestlers may not always be the best bookers or judges :P
A great episode though but Laurie should have won!
Two absolutely finals worthy bookings!
Absolutel toss up
To be fair, either booking is better than Vince McMahon's 'I don't know what to do with or I hate having Japanese talent on my roster' booking. I mean, this man is almost as bad as TNA literally having Tanahashi and Okada on the same roster and doing NOTHING with them for a solid year. Granted, Vince had the fucking ULTIMO DRAGAON on his roster for almost as long and squandered him.
Watching Reliving the War you find out Goldberg's win streak wasn't inflated. He just beat A LOT of jobbers on house and B shows!
I honestly HATE these judges. These used to be so much more fun when it was just the guys doing their pitches and then letting us vote. The judges are trying to make this way more complicated than it needs to be.
Mike n Nina r being Super Petty right now....
Probably
Flair had no business being in that match
YAY TEMPEST!
😍 Nina ❤
Both were great but I think at the end of the day Lauire’s would have been more fun to watch.
I honestly preferred Laurie’s
