Come to Australia sometime and have a look at later Falcons that we totally made our own..There about 4 million sold here between 1960 and 2016 ..they ran inline naturally aspirated 6's the whole time , a magnificent turbo inline 6 from 2002 to 2016 , V8's from 1966 for most of the time except between the mid to late 1980s ..returned again after a few years and ended up with the Boss engines and Coyote/Miami 5.0 V8's. The 5.0's were supercharged too ..In the second last model run (FG) they also ran a turbo charged 4 cylinder that wasn't all that popular but some were sold... The mighty Falcon was /is a great car ..I have two of them myself ..
I have a 61 ranchero with a 302 or 5.0. My advice is to swap the spindles since the engine is heavier, I did changed all front suspension from a 67 mustang and it worked for me and even the power booster I used from a 95 98 metro geo worked perfect , minor mods , I love your manual tranny and shifter
Humberto what is the gain of using a geo booster? I have a late model mustang I’m using as a donor car for my falcon and thought I would use the booster and Master from it. Will it be to long? Thanks for your input. The more I find out now the less problems I will have.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Oliver Nikolai i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have a 1980 rx7, I want to put a carbed 351w into it, with a v6 t5 like yours. Should I use a stock v6 t5 and bell housing on my 351w or should I get a fox body bell housing and swap it onto the v6 t5
If you use the 164 tooth flywheel, the v6 bell housing should fit. That’s according to the internet though, I went the route of a 94-95 mustang bell housing on this falcon; and a standard foxbody clutch and flywheel setup. The foxbody bellhousing is a little bit smaller, even with the 5/8” thick adapter plate you need to make it work. Really depends on what’s cheap honestly. They all work, just research before buying stuff.
I have a 1965 Ford Falcon 4 door that I bought a rebuilt 302 v-8 from a 1970 Mustang to install. It also used to have a 200 ci 6 cylinder. I looked up this video for tips. I'm an amateur mechanic. I'd like to keep the original c-4 automatic transmission. It worked great except it was hard to get into reverse periodically. Is it possible to fix the reverse gear without rebuilding the whole transmission? Do I need to change the bell housing for the v-8 to mount to the transmission? ...and what about the oil pan?
Not bad. I have a pair of 64 sprints. One with a 427 cammer under the hood. The other with a built 289. Not a big deal to put a small block in one. But believe me the big block had to be shoe horned in. Not that I did it. It is a factory built road race car. And let me tell you that big engine in a striped down car can be a bit scary on a long straight away.
I used a stock 65 mustang front sump pan. It only cleared the stock 6 cylinder steering linkage by using about a half inch worth of spacers on the engine mounts to move it up. V8 linkage clears a stock 65 mustang pan easily
@@bransonfleischman2233 thanks for the tip I just picked the car up on Saturday the guy I got it from lost interest in it. He has a 347 in it now I have to remove it to install the transmission which is an C4. Thanks again for responding
Looking forward to updates! I have a 64 HT with a 260 or 289 5 bolt not sure cause same casting numbers and it has 289 heads! What radiator are you guys using?
This car I cut the core support to the larger size, as the v8 cars would have had. I went with a late model 94 mustang aluminum radiator. Barely fit. I’d recommend the 67 mustang big block radiator off of eBay. Easier and good cooling upgrade for the pre 66 cars.
Did younguys have to change mounts for the 302? And did you have to move the steering link for the bigger motor? I keep seeing that the oil pan may hit. Its a 63 falcon
So for this build we used a set of the 67-70 mustang mounts which put the engine in the same place as the earlier 63.5-65 falcon mounts, but are two pieces instead of three and are much more commonly available at auto parts stores, as well as breaking less. The oil pan definitely hit when we first put this setup together, and was fixed by using about a half inch in spacers on top of the mount to move the engine up. The official correct solution is to use a v8 steering linkage and spindle that drops down to clear the pan in the stock location. Only issue with that is needing a whole new set of spindles, brakes, as well as all of the linkage parts. That probably costs $700 to $1,000 depending on what you buy new and what you can find second hand.
Ok I got a lot of questions for you because I’m doing the same thing. I got a 65 ranchero that had a straight 6, bought a 94 mustang gt 5.0 along with an t5 tranny. What wiring harness do I need? Any tips I’d greatly appreciate it.
So on this swap, we actually ran the carb setup and the original inline 6 wiring harness. The 60s fords all use the same alternator, and the starter wiring is the same. The only thing I did have to do is extend the oil pressure sensor wire, distributor wires and coolant temp sender, because of their placement being farther forward on the v8. Other than that, the wiring for carb setups is fairly straightforward. If you want to retain the 94’s fuel injection, you will most likely need a ford motorsports harness or build a custom one out of the stock harness with only the parts you need for the swap.
I had a 1964 Fatura 260 with T10. The person that owned it before put a Sprint tach In the right gauge hole and put a gauge cluster below the dash. If I found another I would put a 3.5 dual turbo.
As blasphemous as it may sound, if its a factory i6 car a 2JZ swap is always worth considering imo. There's a guy who did it with his factory i6 '67 Mustang coupe. I dont really plan to do an engine swap in my V8 '65 Mustang unless absolutely necessary but if I did I would go Coyote most likely.
The yoke spline was right and depth too. The problem we had was the length . The original was slightly too long . We had the drive shaft shortened but we had to find another one when the rear end broke.
It’s fairly simple, too bad I didn’t show it in the video. You would remove the clutch pedal and then weld the metal quadrant piece to the top Of the pedal arm. You can see what it looks like at Mustang Steve website. Thanks mustangsteve.com/product/clutch-cable-pedal-ck265-p/

loved this video. I am wrapping up a 302/AOD swap in my 63 Meteor. What rear is in there? I'll stick with my 8" stock rear.
It was the original 6 cylinder one. Which it broke already.. we swapped in a 8”

Do with my falcon wagon 62 swapp engine for a 5.0
The engine compartment will fit a 5.0. Headers are the biggest challenge. Good luck
why didn't you film the engine being placed into the falc?
I kinda forgot and it took longer than it should have . They come out easier than they go back together
Diss Repair next time. Cool video though.
What was the most difficult part of the install
Whats the specs of this piticular 6 cyl motor ive been looking to geting new parts for mine and make it run agen
It had a 200 inline 6 .
Was this car a Manuel in the first place?
It’s was a 3 speed manual column shift car. Good old 3 on the tree .
Good for him, but as the Mustang used many falcon parts & vice-versa, it must have been an easy swap.
what part of Texas are you guys in?
West Texas

What did you do about the drive shaft?
We actually found an aluminum Ford Explorer driveshaft that was the right length
So it doesn't have the stock rearend?
It shredded the original rear shortly after this video was made . We put in an 8 inch
Did the original yoke work in the t-5 and was the right length?
The yoke spline was right and depth too. The problem we had was the length . The original was slightly too long . We had the drive shaft shortened but we had to find another one when the rear end broke.
That six banger diff won't last the yoke will get torn off just like mine did from the v8 torque. Drive like granny it may last for a bit..
It didn’t last ... not at all.!
