      because his poorly built engines all have crap compression, you don’t need octane with low compression. And 100k miles isn’t really special for a Renesis. Sure some have gotten less, there are those who got 150k - 200k miles. Though not as many on the high side as the low side.

    read if you want not necessary
    when i bought my rx8 i didnt even know how to drive a manual, i didnt even view the car, im not rich i had to plan 130,000 trees to make money for it, and it hurt, 2,000 trees a day, back breaking
    i just wanted the car, i told the seller than he was like wtf, dont worry bro i'll teach you (he didnt)
    i spent an hour drifitng the car in the parking lot doing donuts in the winter to learn then some told me to try the roads,
    i was so scared of owning this car, reliability and all, warm up, 97 octane, i was scared and going broke but i loved the car, i was gonna sell her because i was so scared, and couldnt afford it anymore
    then i saw your videos, i was like what, then i poured water in the gas tank, mechanics wanted 600 bucks off me to fix it, so i used my brain and science and youtube, i managed to fix her,
    it gave birth to my love of wrenching on the rx8, i fix my own stuff now,
    im just really stoned and felt i should share, the rx8 is a special car to a lot of us kids who got older, its a car that looks dope and dont cost an arm and a leg, its a car that will give a man a smile, a little light in a cloudy world at times, the 8 has changed my life for the good, i can fix my buddies car now, the car brings smiles to strangers
    i keep getting compliments on 8 and when i got pulled over for running a border check point, i was talking to the cops about the car not the incident, i was under arrest anyways for missing the border check in thing,
    in a world where everything is the same, the 8 chooses to stand out from then norm,
    its less than 5 grand at most places and would treat the owner really well with a little bitch fit here and there
    the 8 is special,
    keep on keeping on Mr Rad

    Do you have any video recommendations for a Rx8 Renesis talking about temperatures? I usually take it to very high temperatures. Due to the climate in Spain I usually reach temperatures of 220ºF 104ºC and then I start to cool it down by driving very gently, but it is frustrating to have a sports car and not be able to drive it hard. (I have silicone hoses, a mishimoto radiator and a decat exhaust with catback, I don't know what else I can do to keep it from getting so hot.

    i feel like the hybrid porting starts making a bigger difference if you're working with forced aspiration where you're pushing denser air through. you gotta work with a proper engine though, your compression ratios on that are pretty low. The hybrid setup can make a difference, but the airflow needs to get staged to the RPM. it would be cool to have some kind of valving on the exhaust just like the intake is done. the ports open to allow more air through as the engine starts pushing more through.

    • @nobodyspecial5026
      @nobodyspecial5026 22 дня назад

      no it doesn’t, even the Mazdatrix turbo hybrid from 16 years ago wasn’t that special
      there have been several 420 - 450 whp non-hybrid Renesis setups on RX8Club. The problem is that most people do it wrong, like believing this hybrid nonsense, or too cheaply. They don’t even understand that the hybrid engine Kyle Mohan built costs close to $10,000 USD. And is still not going to be anywhere near what an RX7 REW etc. turbo engine can do. Even with a turbo it has no power below 5000 rpm. It’s a crap setup that people who don’t really understand rotary engines are greatly mistaken about. Because they don’t fully understand the details about what makes a Renesis different than the prior 13B engines. And why it doesn’t then respond the same to the prior 13B engine modifications.

    • @justinatwood8728
      @justinatwood8728 21 день назад

      @@nobodyspecial5026 it ends up being a crap setup because larger ports nerf your low end torque. The rotary engines with the smallest ports developed their peak torque sooner. The 4 port renesis has smaller primary ports than the 6 port and it had slightly better low end torque. The large ports are only beneficial at high rpms when there's less time to get the air and fuel into the chamber. A "hybrid" build would essentially have to be totally custom designed in order to actually make a difference and likely you wouldn't see a real benefit without building it to be able to run at higher rpms than 9k

    Somebody needs to do some Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) on this engine, before drawing a conclusion. The overlap between intake and exhaust still doesn't explain the drop of power/ torque at high rpm. A 13B PP NA will see an increase of power/ torque as RPM rise, so something is restricting the flow (on either intake or exhaust) in this hybrid engine.

    Definitely a shame on the hybrid. At least it was worth a shot though. I'm interested to see how the turbo route ends up for sure. If it can be somewhat easily tunable, cost-effective, and not have over-heating issues (this is the biggest thing I worry about ESPECIALLY the oil) then it could end up being a great route. Being able to track it turbo'd as well would be a fantastic test. I agree with another one of the comments though that I would definitely like to see the stock exhaust option if possible. Having a hood exit for a car that makes slightly over 200hp would be a bit too extra in my opinion lol.

    Turbo hybrid has already been done.
    We know it works for turbo See Carl s videos.
    BUT is FD turbo engine cheaper and easier

    How about try the adapter plate. Rx8 front cover to a rew motor.

    • @nobodyspecial5026
      @nobodyspecial5026 22 дня назад

      it doesn’t need an adapter plate, it just needs to be modified/machined for the REW front counterweight to clear the Renesis cover. I have one installed on an REW engine

  • @themancolinmorgan

    i support the boosted version. thats all i wanna try hybrid for. seems more affordable than REW. plus versa tuner seem more feasable then haltech with a boomslang this is my first rotory and theres not alot of rotory peeps in ky.

    • @nobodyspecial5026
      @nobodyspecial5026 22 дня назад

      no it’s not, the hybrid engine Kyle Mohan built 2 years ago and is still sitting there is $10,000. Just the hybrid engine, not including everything else needed to install it, all the turbo and turbo support parts, etc.
      I’m not trying to bash on you guys, you just don’t really understand the realities of this being such a bad idea.

      @nobodyspecial5026 22 дня назад

      More reason why this needs to happen. Video proof. Everyone is always saying it's a bad idea but that usually all the explanation you get.
      Ive never heard mohans cost divulge. I Imagine it's possible to spend 10k on the motor itself but I've priced a near finished build for less already. Thats doing the work myself minus tuning. Either way I've been back and forth hybrid and the REW swap for over a year now. Hybrid is cheaper everytime. Lost of people get started with this project and never commit. He already has it built just add the turbo and let's see

    I think it's dumb how you're not boosting it right away, I get that you have to maybe add some studs around the spark plug area, and get the rotors machined for deeper seals, but to sideline it for a stock renesis is just meh.
