Hi Ken, While Hilton membership might seem more appealing than Marriott, IHG membership (Holiday Inn chain) stands out as a better choice in Asia. It offers superior benefits, faster point accumulation, and a broader presence, including locations in places like Kashi.
Hi Ken, welcome back to Xinjiang. Did you know that there were several serious terrorist attacks in Kashgar ten years ago? That's why the peace we have now is worth cherishing. Thank you for showing the real Xinjiang to the world. In China, you really don't have to worry about taxi drivers running off with your suitcase. That young Uyghur man mimicking cows and sheep was really adorable. Have a great trip!
2014 I and my wife went to Kashgar …. We took 36 hours green hard sleeper train from Xian to Urumqi …. Immediately after arriving we bought 2 tickets green hard sleeper K train to Kashgar 18 hours journey… We stayed at Old Town Youth Hostel… at that time it is a little bit hard to find hotel for foreigners… We also went to Tushkurgan … that time travelers must apply permits at Police stations… Very beautiful lake .. Karakoram mountains…. Freezing cold…. Don’t forget to got to Biggest Bazaar and Animal Market in Kashgar … next level experience.. Stay safe and stay happy

You were so brave. Ten years ago, Kashgar was at its most dangerous time, and the peace we have now hasn't come easily.
Thanks Bro,I appreciate you showing the real Xinjiang China to the world, let more people know who is lying. My motherland doesn't need to be perfect, but we need the truth。 My fellow countrymen have worked tirelessly on this land for thousands of years. Our culture and our people deserve to be treated fairly and respect by the world. Thanks again.
We stayed in the same Hampton Inn in September, the room is very nice, the breakfast is superb, particularly the mutton fried rice. The coffee and dried nuts in the lobby is a nice treat!
What a wonderful sharing of both flights !! Yeah, that's a great culinary experience on the flight. Thanks for the room tours ...very nice and cozy rooms. As for safety wise for my future travels, l would definitely use your method, by leaving the taxi door open before taking my luggage...thanks Ken. Those nans and skewers look yummy. Great that you like them. Cool footage, great content and thanks again for letting us come along. Good job, Ken.

Thanks for the great video, Ken! I always enjoy watching your content. Xinjiang is truly amazing. When I visited Switzerland after traveling to Xinjiang, I couldn’t help but feel that Xinjiang also has similar breathtaking scenery (One example is Kanas lake)
Ken, it’s not a good timing to visit Xinjiang 😅😅😅. you can search right time to traveling different places online. I believe best time to visit Xinjiang is from May to November. it’s too cold now
@@KenAbroad I think he wants to said It's a little bit sad for still not seeing the most beautiful xinjiang since you have travel xinjiang for several times. Because winter is not the best season for south xinjiang. 😂
I visited Kashgar in August this year, and it was truly beautiful. I highly recommend you take a car to Taxkorgan (maybe you're already on the road, haha). The entire journey is incredibly scenic. There were four of us, and the car hire cost was 2700 RMB for 3 days, just for reference. The driver will help plan your route and schedule, providing full-day pick-up and drop-off services. If you need a driver, I can recommend the one I used. Below is my itinerary in Kashgar, I hope it helps. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. **Kashgar to Taxkorgan Route** → ☆☆ **Day 1**: Kashgar - North Shore of White Sand Lake - Muti Volcano Crater - White Sand Lake Viewing Platform - Tahman Wetlands: Stay in Taxkorgan. → ☆☆ **Day 2**: Taxkorgan - Wakhan Corridor - Panlong Ancient Road - Bandir Blue Lake - Golden Grassland (Stone Fort): Stay in Taxkorgan. → ☆☆ **Day 3**: Taxkorgan - Tree Hole Road - Muztagh Glacier Park - Karakul Lake - Kashgar: Stay in Kashgar.
I don't know why you always visit China during winter time.... It is too cold for most of the places, especially North part of China. You will get a much better travel experience in spring or autumn. More beautiful sceneries.
Apart from Uighur, there is another large enthic group called Hui believing in Islam in China. Hui people mainly live in northwestern Chinese provinces like Ningxia, Qinghai and Gansu, and the Muslims you met in Xi'an were also Hui people. These provinces also have different sceneries from ordinary China. Besides, China is a diverse country and there are also many other minority enthic groups like Tibetans, Mongolians (even more than people in Mongolia), Koreans, Bai, Zhuang, Miao and so on. Feel free to explore their life in China.

Hey Ken, you have been in Xinjiang a few times surely someone has told you how to pronounce it, the X is not an X it is Sh so the pronunciation is "Shin Jang". Good advice regarding the taxi, I also used to travel a lot and leaving the door open until I get my luggage out of the boot/trunk was my practice as well - one time I had a taxi drive off but he was very apologetic when he realized he forgot I had luggage in the boot so it was not intentional. By the way USD50 to USD80 per night are really top end hotels usually name brand hotels but if you stay in cheaper hotels Chinese brand they are just as nice but not as expensive. Look at that BBQ, it is like a trench, so the nomads would in the old days dig a long narrow trench for the fire but today they have a long narrow metal fire channel. the fire is kept going on one side and fresh coals are scraped into the trench when the old ones go out.
I think they sell these headphones where you give one to the person you are talking to and you wear one and they both translate while you are talking so it's much easier that way.
@@KenAbroad You can first go to Tibetan areas of Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai and Gansu provinces. They are more open to international tourists. Then, with a tour guide, you can further explore Tibet (Xizang).
@@KenAbroadIf you go to Tibet, it’s best to travel in a group. The terrain there is too high, easy to get altitude sickness, and very dangerous for solo tourists.

The media paint a bleak picture of Xinjiang, everyone one i know who has been there says it is a great place and very safe and not dangerous at all.
To be specific, it's the US led Western rogue media.
Nice and peaceful with all the military on the streets in their armored vehicles. 👍
