I don't think it makes up for the flaws, but that's something that should be mentioned or recognized.
losing the weakness to ground is really cool, but losing a single weakness in exchange for gaining the typing with the most weaknesses isn't exactly ideal. STAB for Grass type attacks is nice but i'll take a Mono-Electric type over H!Electrode pretty much any day.
@@CosmicToad5000 and I think that's fair. But as a grass type, and with the electric typing, it also loses weakness to flying. Again, not resounding, but I think worthy of mention.
I personally believe the new typhlosion should be ranked higher, especially when paired with a pokemon that can use willo-wisp. Infernal parade becomes a 120 STAB power move. How many ghost types have access to that kind of power. It's ghost stab hits what it's fire stab can't. We all know how good chandelure is.
the issue with typhlosions move is that it requires a status condition which unless you’re lucky and land a burn on an enemy with flamethrower, you have to spend a whole turn using will o wisp to apply that status condition. why waste a turn applying a status condition just so a mediocre move can be raised from 60 base power to 120 when i couldve just used two shadow balls and gotten 80 base power with each one?
@@jacobwhite208 I think its more useful in a competitive sense, vgc in particular if it's paired with a pokemon with prankster for example. That would make status moves priority making infernal parade live every time. PS. As someone below stated, hisuian zoroark does the same, plus with strong style it's actually a 50% chance to burn (checked on serebii to make sure) bitter malice does the same. Be thankful that strong style doesn't exist in competitive, these moves would be ban worthy lol
For me, I find Electrode great to use. It's signature move Cloroblast gets stab, which boosts it to a 180 attack move, and I just love how there's finally a Grass Electric type other than Mow Rotom
One of my favorite things about Sneasler from a competitive aspect is that it acts as a perfect doubles partner for Weavile. It bypasses the same Pokémon restriction a regional variant would be held to, and both of them counter each other’s weakness (except for Weavile’s Fire weakness), making for a pretty scary double physical lead. Even if facing a physical wall, their attack stats are high enough to potentially team up and 2 hit KO the opponent.

I feel that Hisuian Decidueye should be a little higher. It's likely that it will keep Triple Arrows, so if you combine that with Leaf Blade and give it a Scope Lens, then this thing is going to be a critical-hitting machine.
I honestly think that in my experience its the strongest starter. Played through the game 3 times, with each starter, and Decidueye is the one I used the most. Samurott is better against important fights sure, but by the time those are important, better options are available than Samurott
@@Ghoulofidiocy2917 I have used H-Lilligant as well and it isn't better in every way, rather they each have a niche with their signatures. Victory Dance in the right circumstances can be stronger, but agile Triple Arrows into strong style crit leaf blade can be one of the strongest attack either of them can pull off. I believe them to be equal and fill their own purpose but not one is better than the other. I think Lilligant is simply the go to "I didn't pick Rowlet" pokemon
I think Typhlosion is too low and should have been higher. I use Mystical Fire, Infernal Parade, Thunderpunch, and Drainpunch on mine, and it's incredibly tanky with all its resistances. There are tons of double edge and strong fighting move users in the game, so that makes him so useful, as he can recover his health with drainpunch. And easily put status with a rapid infernal parade or thunderpunch. I would say it's right up there with H Samurott in viability. I used both of those so much in the game.
I feel like that’s a good move set but if you included stab shadow ball with that crazy 119 base sp attack instead of thunder punch and flamethrower instead of mystical fire there would be some serious results
I agree Hisuian Electrode probably isn’t the best stats or movepool wise, but mine has been the MVP of my team for catching alphas and legendaries. So long as it isn’t ground type, I always move first and can use an agile style thunder wave to paralyze it and get its HP down a bit. I’ve caught almost all of the legendaries on the first ball because of it.

Guts STAB Facade Ursaluna would delete neutral walls out of existence. Bulletproof Ursaluna is immune to fairly common supereffective special attacks like aura sphere, focus miss, and energy ball.
Electrode has the highest speed in this game which means it will get extra turns in this game where speed is most important. And you can do the combo thunder wave/switch out to typhlosion infernal parade and youll knock out anyone.
Loved hisuian Goodra, i used him along Basculegion in my first run and they were the tanky duo that carried my team. Edit: it was a shiny Male basculegion so zen headbutt, ice fang and water crash (?) were doing great with its higher attack stat than the female.
Hisuian Zoroark will be a dark horse, just disguise it for a pokémon with the justified ability. It will be a nightmare with mind games. You can't attack it with a dark type move it's only weakness. Or you can just disguise it as a normal Pokémon for getting an extra move. Also we don't know it's full movepool. If Bitter Malice enters the competitive, it might be a nightmare if the freezing change is high.
Ursaluna was the star of my team the whole time, especially against Volo. My team was the same level range as his. Ursaluna took 2 or 3 aura spheres from Giratina like a champ, smacked it with a play rough, then got revived and repeat.
On the topic of Legends Arceus moves being brought to other games I think it's pretty likely as most of them are fairly simple, partner Pikachu and Eevee were always in your team so they needed to be ultra flexible and powerful to not feel like a burden. I'm also gonna guess on how each move would translate into other games: Triple Arrows: 50 power, guaranteed defence drop and a focus energy effect, like Trop Kick but with less power and boosting your crit chance Infernal Parade: Basically Hex but with an added burn chance, simple Ceaseless Edge: 65 power with higher crit chance, the splinters would probably work just like Sandtomb, Whirlpool or Fire Spin just without trapping the opponent Chloroblast: 120 power, heavy recoil and lowers speed Barb Barrage: Physical poison type Hex with a chance to poison Psyshield Bash: 70 power physical psychic move that raises defence Victory Dance: In other games it could be a physical version of Quiver Dance raising attack, defence and speed Headlong Rush: Ground type Close Combat Stone Axe: The same as Ceaseless Edge but rock type Dire Claw: It would probably work the same but if drowsy goes back to being sleep it might change to just afflicting paralysis or poison Raging Fury: Fire type Outrage Wave Crash: 75 power physical water move with recoil and a chance to boost speed Power Shift: self-explanatory swaps attack and special attack with defence and special defence respectively Bitter Malice: This ones interesting it's Hex but with the chance to apply frostbite however if frostbite gets changed back to frozen this move might get changed to have a much lower chance to afflict it Shelter: The obscured status is pretty interesting as it's not just for accuracy/evasion effects but also for protection effects as Giratina's Shadow Force which normally works like Fly, Dig or Dive making the user invincible (mostly) for a turn then attacking on the next turn but in Legends Arceus Shadow Force is a one turn move that give the obscured effect so Shelter could be like Protect with a defence boost Esper Wing: 75 power high crit special psychic move with the chance to boost speed Mountain Gale: 100 power 85 accuracy this move doesn't have any effects but maybe it'll work like Blizzard with better accuracy in hail Mystical Power: 70 power raises the users attack and special attack if they have better attack than defence and the opposite if they have better defence, this move is exclusive to the lake trio Bleakwind Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy with the chance to apply frostbite if frostbite becomes frozen this chance will be much lower, exclusive to Tornadus Wildbolt Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy with the chance to paralyse, exclusive to Thunderus Sandsear Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy with the chance to burn, exclusive to Landorus Springtide Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy if in incarnate form chance for omni boost like Ancient Power if in therian form chance to lower foes defences, these effects could stay but the move might be changed to work like the other forces of nature signature moves and apply confusion like it does to the player if hit by Enamourus's attack it's just that confusion isn't a status in battle in Legends Arceus Take Heart: Exclusive to Manaphy clears status conditions and raises attack, special attack, defence and special defence Lunar Blessing: Exclusive to Cresselia, heals 50% HP and removes status conditions it also applies the obscured status so they'll probably just remove that part Most moves don't really seem to need changes other than ones related to frostbite and drowsy (if they go back to being frozen and sleep) and obscured which could either be removed like with Lunar Blessing or changed to a Protect effect like with Shelter (possibly), what's most likely to change is power and accuracy as a lot of moves in Legends Arceus had their power and accuracy changed and they'll probably go back to normal in other games so some of the new moves might also get changed in similar ways.
You've got a lot of good ideas, but you really missed the mark on Lunar Blessing. Cresselia is already just about the bulkiest mon in the game, and adding a Full Heal effect to Moonlight is just game breaking for Cress.
@@lyrlwestrum3971 Oh no I'm fully aware on how bulky Cresselia is, it's just that Lunar Blessing IS a healing move so I doubt that'll change, maybe it'll only heal HP instead but then what sets it apart from Moonlight? if anything I bet Lunar Blessing will probably just get banned in competitive.
cause if its Guts: you don't wanna status it and deal with boosted facades if it's Bulletproof: welp, there goes a number of moves you can't use against it, especially ones it's weak to like energy ball, focus blast and aura sphere

Hisuian Electrode I have Flash Cannon on it for Ice types but also to help take out Fairy types, and Foul Play for pesky Ghost and Psychic types. Sneasler I have Dark Pulse for the 4x weakness to Psychic but I can't for some reason teach it Ice Punch for Ground and Flying types so I ran Thunder Punch instead, which can help with water types. Ursaluna I gave it Earthquake, Play Rough, Fire Punch, and Thunder Punch to cover all 3 of its weaknesses, which is pretty strong. Hisuian Arcanine I've ran Solarbeam and Play Rough on it to cover all its weaknesses. Hisuian Samurott has Air Slash to cover the Grass, Bug, and Fighting weaknesses. Kleavor has Dig to cover Rock and Steel types. I know I've said a lot but that's my view on all the Hisuian Mons for Radical Red

How is hisuian avalugg above any other pokemon let alone some such as basculegion. It's supposed to be a physical wall but because of the ice/rock type it literally drops to a close combat or an iron head. Ice/rock is a worse type than fire/rock and yet you put arcanine lower despite having the slightly better type, as well as better speed. Every single pokemon place lower than avalugg has more potential to be good than avalugg. Hisuian Electrode could be a fast support pokemon with leech seed, Wyrdeer could get skill swap intimidate, Decidueye looks pretty bad but triple arrows could be good enough to save it, Arcanine at least has intimidate and ok speed, samurott has a good type and a decent movepool meaning it could be the crawdaunt of lower tiers, basculegion just needs poltergeist and then with adaptability it will be a better crawdaunt. Meanwhile, avalugg is doomed to suck due to a terrible type and stat spread and shouldn't be above a single pokemon on this list.

It's really weird hearing you talk about hisui Pokemon competitively, until I realized competitive Pokemon players are the most ruthless and passionate people on the planet next to League of Legends players. They're likely chomping at the bit at the ways to dominate with these new Pokemon. I wonder how the simple battle system in Legends Arceus would do competitively for casual players like myself.
@@ilovepersona3 yeah that combo is almost broken but why the speed?
'Typhlosion is incredibly tanky with all of its resistances', I want what you're smoking m8
With the addition of ursaluna does that mean ursaring can use eviolite... dear arceus what have we done
Holy crap.
Im looking forward more to Eviolite Ursaring than anything else tbh
I don’t see what good will it do considering it looses its flame orb or choice band for more defense
Guts flame orb will still be better
@@lovofofo ursaluna gets guts as well
I think Lilligant surprised a lot of people. An I just really hope that we see it again in future games to come
I agree Hisuian Electrode probably isn’t the best stats or movepool wise, but mine has been the MVP of my team for catching alphas and legendaries. So long as it isn’t ground type, I always move first and can use an agile style thunder wave to paralyze it and get its HP down a bit. I’ve caught almost all of the legendaries on the first ball because of it.
Combo thunderwave and switch out to typhlosion with infernal parade and tou knockt out anyone in one hit. This guy is just looking at stats or idk how hes playing this game
@@94jmbottaro The whole point of the video was predicting how each pokemon would do in the comp scene when their introduced through home or the next mainline game.
I love how they turned a relatively weak pokemon like lilligant(My personal fave)and turned it into an absolute beast. I kid you not, lilligant dealt the finishing blow on the origin form of dialga.
I’ve never played competitively but in my play through so far wyrdeer has been a staple on my team since it was a stantler, and I’ve been gravely disappointed with typhlosion but I can’t make myself switch it out for infernape
yeah, tbh decidueye and typhlosion struggle a lot in this game as some of their weaknesses are plentiful, but typhlosion has it especially rough with how lackluster his move pool is
@@bulborb8756

I wasn't into Lilligant's new ballet dancer legs xD But once I learned it's awesome stats and movepool, I got over that real fast.
I already liked regular Goodra and I'm loving it's Hisuian form. If it's ever added to a main series game, it's gonna be in my party.
You know when a list is bad when *all the starters* are lower. . . . . . . than a *very slow Ice/Rock pokemon. . . .*
“That’s disturbing”
- Eddward Double D, 1999
And on top of that has 2 double weakness.
Ursaluna was the star of my team the whole time, especially against Volo. My team was the same level range as his. Ursaluna took 2 or 3 aura spheres from Giratina like a champ, smacked it with a play rough, then got revived and repeat.
Fun fact: Enamorus therian form is actually base on 玄武 (Xuan Wu) one of the four beasts of China.
On the topic of Legends Arceus moves being brought to other games I think it's pretty likely as most of them are fairly simple, partner Pikachu and Eevee were always in your team so they needed to be ultra flexible and powerful to not feel like a burden. I'm also gonna guess on how each move would translate into other games:
Triple Arrows: 50 power, guaranteed defence drop and a focus energy effect, like Trop Kick but with less power and boosting your crit chance
Infernal Parade: Basically Hex but with an added burn chance, simple
Ceaseless Edge: 65 power with higher crit chance, the splinters would probably work just like Sandtomb, Whirlpool or Fire Spin just without trapping the opponent
Chloroblast: 120 power, heavy recoil and lowers speed
Barb Barrage: Physical poison type Hex with a chance to poison
Psyshield Bash: 70 power physical psychic move that raises defence
Victory Dance: In other games it could be a physical version of Quiver Dance raising attack, defence and speed
Headlong Rush: Ground type Close Combat
Stone Axe: The same as Ceaseless Edge but rock type
Dire Claw: It would probably work the same but if drowsy goes back to being sleep it might change to just afflicting paralysis or poison
Raging Fury: Fire type Outrage
Wave Crash: 75 power physical water move with recoil and a chance to boost speed
Power Shift: self-explanatory swaps attack and special attack with defence and special defence respectively
Bitter Malice: This ones interesting it's Hex but with the chance to apply frostbite however if frostbite gets changed back to frozen this move might get changed to have a much lower chance to afflict it
Shelter: The obscured status is pretty interesting as it's not just for accuracy/evasion effects but also for protection effects as Giratina's Shadow Force which normally works like Fly, Dig or Dive making the user invincible (mostly) for a turn then attacking on the next turn but in Legends Arceus Shadow Force is a one turn move that give the obscured effect so Shelter could be like Protect with a defence boost
Esper Wing: 75 power high crit special psychic move with the chance to boost speed
Mountain Gale: 100 power 85 accuracy this move doesn't have any effects but maybe it'll work like Blizzard with better accuracy in hail
Mystical Power: 70 power raises the users attack and special attack if they have better attack than defence and the opposite if they have better defence, this move is exclusive to the lake trio
Bleakwind Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy with the chance to apply frostbite if frostbite becomes frozen this chance will be much lower, exclusive to Tornadus
Wildbolt Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy with the chance to paralyse, exclusive to Thunderus
Sandsear Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy with the chance to burn, exclusive to Landorus
Springtide Storm: 95 power 80 accuracy if in incarnate form chance for omni boost like Ancient Power if in therian form chance to lower foes defences, these effects could stay but the move might be changed to work like the other forces of nature signature moves and apply confusion like it does to the player if hit by Enamourus's attack it's just that confusion isn't a status in battle in Legends Arceus
Take Heart: Exclusive to Manaphy clears status conditions and raises attack, special attack, defence and special defence
Lunar Blessing: Exclusive to Cresselia, heals 50% HP and removes status conditions it also applies the obscured status so they'll probably just remove that part
Most moves don't really seem to need changes other than ones related to frostbite and drowsy (if they go back to being frozen and sleep) and obscured which could either be removed like with Lunar Blessing or changed to a Protect effect like with Shelter (possibly), what's most likely to change is power and accuracy as a lot of moves in Legends Arceus had their power and accuracy changed and they'll probably go back to normal in other games so some of the new moves might also get changed in similar ways.
Ursalunas bulk and hard hitting came in clutch for me, in such a hit for hit style format, its a damn beast
When Mystic brought Ursaluna stats and abilities.
Very scary against Bulletproof and Guts is what I don't want face off it.
cause if its Guts: you don't wanna status it and deal with boosted facades
if it's Bulletproof: welp, there goes a number of moves you can't use against it, especially ones it's weak to like energy ball, focus blast and aura sphere
it is something impressive that that sneasler has a strong potential for competition, at first his leak seemed deformed but seeing more of his design detail it became my favorite hisui form
I loved using samurot since it is very useful when farming exp candy by destroying alpha golem, rhyperior, bronzon, steelix and mismagius which help me a lot and I'm glad I chose oshawott as a starter. 😊

A - Ursauna, Zoroark, Basculegion, Sneasler
B - Overqwil (and Qwilfish too), Typhlosion, Sammurott, Kleavor, Wyrdeer

For those who like Rom Hacks such as Radical Red, the most updated version of Radical Red now has Hisuian forms and their new evolved forms. I used Overqwil in the Elite Four with Sludge Bomb, Dark Pulse, Toxic Spikes, and Destiny Bond. Hisuian Zoroark I put a Focus Sash on it so once its Illusion form wears off, you can still take down your opponents. Problem is only coverage move I have on it is U-Turn, but I'm also running its signature move Bitter Malice, along with Destiny Bond and Flamethrower for coverage. Hisuian Goodra not only do I Dragon Hammer and Iron Head on it, but I've been rotating different moves on it such as Surf, Flamethrower, Giga Drain, Ice, and Thunderbolt varying on who I use it against.
Fun fact: In Pokémon stadium a lady says her life long boyfriend is a mightyena, and in let’s go a guy says he wants to give his girlfriend a water stone but he is afraid she will evolve and in the best wishes anime it shows a guy marrying his gothitelle.
Shame they took off multi-hitting moves. Maybe triple arrows and ceasless edge would be good like double kick and icicle spear.

The current consensus is that overqwil might be a powerful non-water swift swimmer since it has decent enough speed to use swift swim and barb barrage being a hex helps it with damage

Or would it be too boring? I find it satisfying and easy to understand for new players, which can make Pokemon more accessible. Pokemon Go accomplished something similar.
Personally I find developing a meta around countering an ugly overpowered enamorous would be boring. Same story, different pokemon. That's just me. The potential for new abilities and techniques hisui Pokemon can bring to the competitive format excites even me.
