I like how Pokémon Legends Arceus handled box legendaries, by making all of them available in the base game.
ha lol
Gold and silver also did this
@@luigigordovermelho1063🤦🤦🤦
@@__Soya__ don't you know that after you BEAT The elite four you can get The other legendarie
@@luigigordovermelho1063 You are the definition of r/whoosh
This duo is genius. They could also kind of represent different personalities, where Affersora is the intuitive thinker while Effortore is the pragmatic/practical realist
Gotta love those symbolic Pokémon sprites.
Those are opposite of what they represent. Affersora is Logic(Practical, Realistic) whereas Effortore is Passion.
Sensor vs Intuitive
That would be the opposite of what they are tho. Affersora is the logical realistic one and Effortore is the emotional passionate one. Yes it's true that Effortore is more inclined towards physicality but that doesn't automatically make it more realistic, it's more like a jock that doesn't even know how things work or what he should do, but still does shit for fun and giggles even if it's unrealistic and unreasonable, while Affersora is actually the down to earth yet at the same time also aloof nerd that is realistic and knows why and what to do and for what reasons and only does shit if it realistically makes sense to do the things.
I love how you've drawn the super-simplified versions of these legendaries. They look like how icons for large monsters are drawn in Monster Hunter World, it's great.
I also like how Rayquaza is a LOOONG skinny boy to contrast with the more stout and rotund Groudon and Kyogre.
never realized ultra necrozma was on the box, blew my mind
It's funny cus I immediately noticed it, I got ultra sun and my brother got ultra moon and I noticed the eyes and realised omg it's a new Pokemon???
Me just learning that the box arts for USUM make Ultra Necrozma
Me too my jaw dropped
no dude really ive played the crap out of these games😭 and j never ever noticed

“While one could argue a Kiki and Bouba-esque distinction between the two” is a wonderful and educational insight.
Seeing as your own art style is so different from Pokemon's, I was so not ready for such good renders of Lugia and Ho-oh closer to the official style. Really impressive to nail two distinct styles so well.
(the others are really good too, but I was actually ready for those)
He said he was tired and his computer was struggling during his rendering, so it sounds like he was doing it back to back which is why the accuracy started to break down. Which is fair. So it makes sense looking back why lugia and ho-oh look so good bc he wasn't burnt out by that time 🤔 Idk I'm not him tho, I could be wrong lol
I like both of these legendary designs. Can't wait to see their trio master.
Maybe they will not have a trio master like gen9.
@@vimaladevishanmugam5943obviously cyclizar is the trio master
@@vimaladevishanmugam5943 Sure thats possible but the way that noRtist didn't mention trio masters in this vid makes me think there will be one because he might be saving all that talk for another vid. He could also go the route of gen 2 where both of them are trio masters.
The third pokemon is cyclizar
@@vimaladevishanmugam5943the indigo disk legend
One thing that I’m somewhat surprised goes unmentioned is the Kiki and Bouba traits of Zekrom and Reshiram. There designs aren’t as the best and they do get a mention, but their names support this theory.
Zek-rom and Reshi-ram have both hard and soft pronunciations and syllables, with Kyu-rem being a blend of both.
Doesn’t go unmentioned. n0rtist mentions it right here 10:55
@@Tyranitar. He mentions it only in their artistic design, not in their names
@@Galarticuno Your comment is only about the design and uses the pronunciation as support.
I like how all of them relate with the last part of their names as well, with -ram, -rom and -rem
its always so fun to imagine you as a professor teaching kids about the creatures, especially with the recap at the end
if the professor trope character isnt a self insert that would be such a missed opprotunity. Looking forward to STEMA and i hope the new year is filled with good vibes
Absolutely genius idea!!!!
Have you considered making designs based on power plants? e.g. Solar panels (fire/electric or steel), wind turbines (flying/electric or steel), dams (water/electric or steel)
His types are different than the Pokemon types, but even then. Fire for a solar panel? Doesn't make much sense unless it's storing the heat, which isn't how solar panels work
My thoughts were about how solar panels use sunlight, which is usually associated with grass or fire type.
Also, many of his types are different from pokemon, but all the types I used have a counterpart in STEMMA.
Even then, fire for a solar panel might not make the most sense, but it's the most fitting for solar panels.@@samlewis6487
11:59 ACKCHYUALLY Ho-oh and Lugia had 3D cutscenes in HGSS before that
I love your artstyle

I'm very sure everyone here does
13:30 aged terrifically, we are so back
Did not expect your legendaries to be based on the Nervious system.
The dendrites to be exact.
This is so cool tbh.
My major was in neuroscience, so i love your box legendaries.
5:10 Point here, in some ancient cultures, rainbows were depicted as having 3 colours; Red, Yellow and Green.
If they made Zacian stand on his hind legs to use the sword while Zamazenta remained on all fours, I think it would have been better. And it would have worked somewhat even better after coming after Sun/Moon’s lycanroc’s midday and midnight forms
There is no H in Zacian!

Let this guy be on master chef because he absolutely COOKS
tbh, I got sun and moon as my first pokemon game and then Ultra sun and moon
then my dad (I was around 10 at the time) wanted to get a photo of me and the boxes, so we put US/UM right next to each other and I immediately pointed out that there was two eyes and a silhouette
years later I feel accomplished by doing that
passion and logic are such good ideas for a legendary duo, and the designs are so well made, i would've thought they were official! amazing work and amazing video
Great video! It was amazing getting to finally see what some of your own 'legendaries' would be, and it's cool to look at Pokémon's legendaries through your own style
I think one this to keep in mind is that the legendaries need to look a little uncontroversial. You can't go for any outlandish designs that niche groups will like. Doing that at other points in pokemon is great as not every player needs to like every pokemon and having such a variety of tastes can bring a larger variety of players.
But the box legendaries are insanely difficult to design, you need to somehow, between just 2 pokemon, create a pair that almost every single player will like at least 1 of them.
the duo you made is incredible, i adore anatomy and dichotomies, so i feel like you perfectly represented something as complex as the nervous system. seeing how the two could play off of their own strengths and weaknesses sounds super entertaining as well!
Now this was a BANGER video, it's so interesting to see the evolution of box legendaries, and I LOVE the STEMA legendary duo! The concepts and designs are so intricate yet easy to comprehend (Also you're so close to 100k OMG!!!)
when i saw those silhouettes of your box legendaries
i thought they would be based on Infrared and Ultraviolet light
As a child at heart I love how you used "blurple" to describe my favorite pokémon :³
Can't wait to see the probably amazing box legendary/legendaries nortist will cook up
Man its great finaly seeing your box art legendaries, I remember you showed a sneek peek of them in one of your streams.
Your videos are always amazing. Too bad that I haven't kept up with them since halloween.
Saw you working on it yesterday and gotta say that’s one absolutely amazing thumbnail.
I love the Thumbnail ❤
I always love these videos! Your breakdowns of designs are always on point. And it's always great seeing your own design that ties into to the video's theme. Keep up the good work!
i love the glowing patterns in their designs!!!
S & V handle the legendaries in my most favourite way
You get to be *friends* with them!! They help you though your *entire* journey. I formed such an attachment to koriadon. It really feels like they're iterating on things introduced earlier in the series- and they're doing it *well* some things could be better. (Side eyes the performance issues & bugs) but my love of the stupid bike dinosaur is worth it. I really hope you continue making things you're proud of!! And I hope Pokemon listens to their fans, next time.
WOO YEAH ANOTHER BANGER NORTIST VID i love Affersora and Effortore, and the explanation leading up to them was really concise and well done
The box lengendaries look cool in your art style. As for your created box legends, they look amazing. I love both the similarities and differences that Affersora and Effortore have. I really look forward to your personal project and what is in store.
one of the best youtubers i’ve seen on this platform. so much effort in the videos. explaining pokémon while showing the art you made of them.
Your art and style is REALLY impressive i love it
The concept for your legendaries is SO GOOD!
I'm excited for this game. I think it will be a great monster collector because of how you share your work and the inspiration behind it.
The posing of your art reminds me so much of monster hunter I love it
I genuinely love those designs sm
I cannot accurately express how awesome these videos have been. I have every intention on showing every single one to my sons when they are in grade school. Not too long now
I've never watched a video of yours in my life but those original designs/concepts are amazing
Oh this is gonna be a fun watch sub legends all already intense but special ones are another level
This is why we have THIS guy cook
I love them
i love the monster hunter icon type Pokemon icons in some of his thumbnails
Dude, the music you used at the end when you revealed your legendaries! Epic music. BUT DUDE AFFESORUS IS SO OVERPOWERED WTF, truly the meaning of Legendary.
Mannn these thumbnails so CLEAN
Can’t wait to see where this project goes in the future :)
Another cool thing about the Gen 4 legends and Arceus, is the Greek influence in their design, which enforce the fact that they are Gods and not like the others
I really like your videos, thanks to your research I could figure out how to make my game better!
The explanation for the legendaries is so cool
Man i still can’t that my when it is released favorite creator collector is on my favorite game engine while i’m working on a project myself. Tears of Joy
I'm surprised nortist forgot about the most iconic box legendaries: pikachu and eevee!
No but seriously, something I've noticed with box legendaries is how they always seem to have a warm/cool contrast (except maybe palkia which skews more pink than red). Nortist touched on this with solgaleo and lunala, but I imagine this color combination keeps getting used because it ensures that there's something for everyone.
And even though no one asked, I think groudon and kyogre nail the legendary vibe best out of all the box legendaries. I wasn't even raised on ruby and sapphire, but their body patterns just feel so esoteric and cool, like some kind of ancient writing. My favorite design overall is probably yveltal though.
I really like the redesign you did for the mimic drawing based on the box art
I love, your thumbnails and just your art, I'd love to have them as a wallpaper on my pc and phone
OMG that Ultra Necrozma bit in the cover just blew me away, I didn't even realize that!
That was a genius move! 👏
Hmmmm, now I'm kinda curious if the Stema tertiary legendary will be based off of Interneurons, facilitating communication between Affersora and Effortore?
These drawings look great!
6:24 eeeyyyy, you mentioned something about the weather trio's design origins that not many people touch upon! (Behemoth/Behemot, Leviathan/Levyatan, and Ziz)
I think an important part of the Box Legendary is the philosophy. The legendary is very important to the game and the legendary tells us something very important about the game.
In typical Pokemon Legendary dichotomies, if we stretch your theming, your legendaries could represent Knowledge and Action.
POV: you just clicked on the video because of the ASTONISHING thumbnails!
Love your art ❤
I like that you used “they” to refer to the legendaries. I’ve always felt that there were multiple of each especially after the Arceus event in HGSS that let you create one of the Sinnoh Legends. I’d love to explore the Sinjoh Ruins in a Legends Kanto/Johto (Tohjo?).
My pet theory is that - when it comes to the "god" legendaries like kyogre, groudon, dialga, palkia, etc - whenever someone catches them arceus comes down somewhere and replaces it.
@@jaernihiltheus7817 Good theory, but unfortunately its been proven by like the anime i think that there's multiple legendaries at a time
People do say theres one of every mythical so maybe your theories true for them
@@OSCnomore some legendaries and mythicals are, yeah. Mew couldn't be the ancestor to every pokemon species if there was only 1, for example, and there's seemingly dozens of sets of the regis. Lunala and solgaleo are both just strong ultra beasts and there's no telling how many there are in ultra space, etc etc.
But some of them seem to be 1 of a kind outside of gameplay.
As a medical student it was really cool to see Effortore and Affersora! Something that might be cool to explore is a taste-receptor based penta-group (5 mons instead of a trio) based on the 5 different types of taste: Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, and Umami! Fun fact: Spicy is not a taste because the molecule responsible for the sensation of 'spice' (capsaicin) actually binds to pain receptors (nociceptors), and there is a pokemon named after this molecule in Gen 9, Capsakid!
Now we can know what those two pokemon are in your first video!
I how despite having removed the bug-type, this duo could be bug-type and thats good because we need more bug-type legendaries. Never thought about Lugia being ocean currents but that would explain why it normally lives beneath the waves. Its strange how we have 3 groups of legendary Pokemon with a weather theme (birds, gen3box, genies) and 2 with the theme of nature and technology (gen5 and gen9).
I love this channel 🥺❤️
They look great! The renders of official legends almost looked official themselves!
I can not wait to play your game
I really like the Monster Hunter -esque simplified legendary designs you showed off.
I will never understand why so much people prefer Dialga over Palkia
Me too mate, me too
Because it stands on 4 legs and its blue
Because dialga looks better
Design
Your art is so cool!
As a medical doctor, I'm pretty hyped by these legendaries! Good stuff. :)
13:30 until AZ…
(We can only hope Zygard is the box legend)
God I wish teachers engaged their class like this, using common interests like video games to introduce or relate topics to them. Pokémon is what made me fall in love with biology and the ecosystems of the world.
Also I adore these legends!! Your analysis makes me want to reconsider my own legendary ideas, as none of my Fakemon legends are traditionally “native” to my region. The analysis will help me develop their designs into something I will finally like
At 18:43 you can actually see the Temple of Sinnoh on Mount Cornet, so it's amazing that something so small can spoil the entire end of the game
i love the monster hunter icons in the thumbnail holy crap
WOAH I’ve never seen that necrozma in the boxes before that’s so cool
I can't wait for your game! I have huge interest in the sciences and my mom even used to be a STEM teacher!!
I love your legendarys
If STEMA is published one day, I'll be its first ever player! I love all the research, concepts and efforts ever put in this series
Thumbnail looks awesome
This is so cool!
Thumbnail looks amazing
it should be noted that palkia and dialga's new design in Arceus can be frankensteined together to make Arceus. That's why they look like horses
I can only imagine how cool the trio master will look to represent the skeletal system. Kickass skeleton dragon or smth.
ur freaking amazing dude
This video is amazing. But the way he said “BLURPLE” was too funny 😂.
I always thought, I was predominantly drawn to the blueish box legendaries. That was until very recently, when I checked and it was pretty much a tie:
Blastoise (in absence of Venusaur), Lugia, Kyogre, Palkia, Reshiram, Xerneas, Lunala, Zamazenta, and Miraidon.
This video helped me figuring out, it was the bouba aapect, I like, not necessarily the colour.
The thumb nail art 10/10
Something i think is very important that every box legendary follows is looking poweful. They always look like a beast that can destroy the world, but with enough hard work, can be your friend.
I actually feel like this is missing in your designs. Their necks and heads look thin and weak. I know slim legendary designs exist, but in this case I think they need to be beefier.
Bruh that art of the legendaries in the thumbnail is sick
Legendaries, not legendary's! There is no Y in the plural! And we DON'T use apostrophes in plurals!
I never knew the ultra games hid necrozma like that in the box art, thats so cool
13:31 This aged well
Hey I love the videos! I'm wondering your thoughts about the physical / special split in Pokémon. Would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on how Pokémon seems to be trending towards minimaxing one stat or the other in offensive Pokémon. Might be more geared towards competitive than some of your other videos but interesting to discuss for stema!
