But does it start the battle with half HP and three sharp raises? It doesn't, but that would be insane (also hard to generate since the game doesn't track the HP of wild Pokemon outside of battle.)
It’s a cute idea but even at +1 speed oricorio’s stats still are super mid. Quiver Dance is always gonna be better if you want to use Dancer. A 80 bp non stab off a 70 base attack is not threatening even if you were insane enough to fully invest in it.
Arboliva and Bellibolt actually make perfect partners for each other. Grassy Terrain weakens Earthquake, making Bellibolt's one weakness less relevant, and its passive restoration helps Bellibolt's bulk. On top of that, parabolic charge, with the boost from its ability, will effectively let it live forever, and a grassy seed lets you invest more in HP, SpDef, and/or SpAtk while remaining a full-on wall. Muddy Water hits the fire types that threaten Arboliva for good damage, and Soak lets both Arboliva and Bellibolt hit opponents harder with their stab attacks. Bellibolt is still C-tier, but fantastic in this specific situation.
I will confirm, this setup on Pokemon showdown is absolutely absurd. Giving bellibolt any good item (specs, vest, magnet) makes parabolic charge do way more damage causing more heals. Only problem is running into garchomps but that's handled by a background ice type of your choice. (I chose baxcalibur with the loaded dice and icicle spear and shard)
Slightly unrelated but wolfey didn't mention it, arboliva also gets terrain pulse which gives it a 100 power stab move boosted by grassy terrain, and with the passive regen from grassy terrain and leech seed it can also be almost unkillable
@@slothy0wl17 Yep, and arboliva pairs exceedingly well with scovillain too, because it can set up both sunny day and grassy terrain in a single turn, and give scovillain a boost to both flamethrower and solar beam while also activating scovillain's clorophyll. It can then stay in the field providing support with reflect, light screen and boosted terrain pulses, or switch out to something else.
I made it to master rank with a bellibolt that has weakness policy that I triggered with bulldoze on my oranguru. Set up trick room and bellibolt can sweep with a double boosted discharge. That's the beauty of double battles. A pokemon is only really a low tier (for the most part) if you don't properly build it with a good supportive team.
It’s crazy how different singles and doubles are. In singles, Clodsire is an OU staple thats keeping Chi-yu and gholdengo in check, but in VGC it’s selling points are not nearly as valuable.
I thought the same thing with Cyclizar’s ranking. That thing is absolutely off its tits busted in singles, I’d assume due to how much easier it is to pass a sub in singles, so when he started calling it mediocre I was genuinely surprised for a moment. Guess I should play doubles more!
The thing with Geeta's Glimmora is it's not the first Pokémon she sends out. If it was the first, it'd be able to spread its toxic spikes which we'd now have to worry about, and would be a more interesting battle. Kingambit should've been the one she Terastallized. HUGE missed opportunity. So the trees Grafaiai are painting is a reference to the Oma forest in Basque Country (the Basque have a language vastly different from Spanish). The painted Monterey pine trees are a project by Basque sculptor and painter Agustín Ibarrola to show the harmony between humans and nature, by painting on trees using the same method cave people used to paint on natural rock formations (he was inspired by the nearby Santimamiñe caves)
I also wish she (or any character for that matter) terastallized to an unpredictable type that was actually threatening. Glimmora is 4x weak to ground after all, why not get rid of that? Or maybe Nemona trips you up and teras the starter into the type that beats yours? I just wish the new cool mechanic was utilized a bit more (and also wish everything was harder but whatever)
I think it's her signature pokemon- looking at Greeta's color scheme, hair dye, etc she seems to be cosplaying Glimmora. But yeah I wish they would at least switch the positioning.
FYI all S-tier Pokémon are in order Dondozo 6:53, Palafin 8:00, Maushold 9:52, Baxcalibur 10:38, Gholdengo 15:35, Kingambit 17:55, Tatsugiri 18:17, and Annihilape 18:47. Hope this helps!
Well fairly Dondozo is S tier because of Tatsugiri, Tatsugiri is S tier because of Dondozo. If it's singles or if they're on their own, Tatsugiri will be totally NU, while I BELIEVE Dondozo will still have potential in a trick room team thanks to its horrendous 35 speed, which is slower than even Kingambit and Iron Hands.

Holy shit wolfey you've been pumping out amazing content lately, I don't even play Pokemon at all anymore but I'm always fully engaged by these bangers, keep it up man
Small note: I would much rather you use the term "Full accuracy" instead of "'Never misses." The former is most moves, which will hit unless accuracy is dropped or evasion is raised. The latter, like Flower Trick, will always hit, and usually these types of moves have far less base power to balance. A 100 base power move that never misses would be incredibly powerful. Scovillain in the Sun is actually insane. 498 speed with max investment (higher than Pokémon like Koraidon and Miraidon) and 1 turn Solar Beam paired with sun boosted Flamethrower is very good. Grass also helps with some types that resist fire like water and rock
I feel like Pawmot deserves a better rating. Revival blessing is great, as you mentioned, double shock can be used multiple times if you tera electro it and while its stats aren't amazing i feel like 115 attack is fine given the 120 base power of double shock and close combat. Yes it's frail, but thats what a focus sash is for and at that point the good speed stat becomes even more vauluable.
Espathra also has an amazing ability called opportunist ("If an opponent's stat is boosted, the Pokémon seizes the opportunity to boost the same stat for itself.")
I feel like Wolfey has underestimated Clodsire. It's stats may not be the best but it has a solid niche as a defensive wall against attacks, especially with it's Water Absorb ability turning one of it's weaknesses into an immunity and Unaware can negate swords dance and defence boosts.
Clodsire's issue is mainly due to how passive it is, for similar reasons to why Toxapex isn't favoured in VGC. If you want a Water-immune Ground-type, Gastrodon's Storm Drain can actually redirect Water moves away from your partner while offering better offensive presence, while both Skeledirge and Dondozo are better users of Unaware in the VGC meta.
Think pawmot is a bit underrated. Terra elec rids double shock of its one time use, paired with adamant or jolly nature it is a solid damage dealer. Plus, iron fist as a hidden ability boosts punch moves by 20%, meaning thunder, ice, fire punch, etc. all get boosted from 75-90 power, providing good coverage moves on top of nuzzle.
Little correction torch song is 80 bp, squakability is not so bad all form has regular ability Intimidate or Hustle Guts is the hidden of Green Plumage and Blue Plumage Sheer Force is the hidden Yellow Plumage and White Plumage so it offer a good surpirse factor is you are unprepared Flamigo has also scrappy a good ability Also strange thing is I though wolfe was going to talk about the zacian nerf
I wonder if Mycelium Might will have any relevance against Goldhengo as the only option that can use status moves against it 🤔 Also thank you for all your hard work wolfey, the content is amazing!
You can use P-Tauros (Any form is fine but I think it works best with fire) with a Pokémon that knows either Flower Trick or Frost Breath. You use FT/FB on your Tauros, which activates Anger Point and maxes your attack. You have to give up Intimidate and some HP on Tauros, and you have to waste a turn on your other Pokémon, but it might be good. Idk I thought of this in the shower. Thoughts?
Kinda wild that all of the starters in this gen are competitively viable and they're all on pretty level footing, rather than your starter being a difficulty selector Edit: I'm curious how you feel about Terastallization as a gimmick compared to the others and how you feel about grinding for Tera Shards and EV training while teambuilding
This game makes me feel like Pokémon is experiencing power creep, like I feel this generation has a lot of Pokémon with stupidly high stats or crazy moves and abilities compared to most from previous generations.
Paldea tauros fire is broken. You give it anger point and then use flower trick on it to easily give it 4x attack, while also not doing very much damage to it. Its like belly drum but better.
At this point I am certain that Wolfey has been switched out with a robot that has 12 years in competitive pokemon knowledge with the speeds of these uploads.
Great wideo, love this kind of content and I think you’ve made me a believer in baxcaliber. I can’t help but think you’re underselling glimmora a bit though, I’ve been using it with an air balloon in doubles and it’s been working out really well especially against pokemon like garganacl, torkoal and great tusk (high def but low spdef)

And now i feel blessed to be in the timeline of super-content awesome-wolfey slamming banger videos with the world champ difference garnish. Thank you so much. You're THE GOAT
First off, great video man, the rise in quality is incredible, and if I could subscribe a second time then I would. Second off, I think P-Tauros should be B tier, if only because the fire form does such a great job at shutting down physical attackers, whit intimidate+will-o-wisp, not to mention STAB body press, it's definitely got potential imo since I think a lot of the big threats in this metagame are gonna be physical attackers (annihilape, bacxcalibur, ect.)

I’m so glad you think that Arboliva is a good Pokémon. I used one in my playthrough and it hard carried me through many battles and even cheesed the Dondozo Titan while being quite underleveled.
Good luck on the 1 million creep and great work on the vid!
Greaveyard's Fluffy ability can be incredibly underrated imo.
Damn wolfey pumping out videos like crazy. Really liked that.
Thank you Wolfe! All these awesome videos have made the holiday season even better!
Holy shit wolfey you've been pumping out amazing content lately, I don't even play Pokemon at all anymore but I'm always fully engaged by these bangers, keep it up man
I love how u put so much work into these videos! Now a days you see lame RUclipsrs not put any work into there videos, but Wolfey never disappoints!❤️

Love the editing of your videos. Keep up the good work, man!
9:24 Quieres? As an spanish speaker myself I absolute loved that part, awesome work dude love ur vids
Bro I'm so glad i finally see someone giving Maushold respect. All my friends hate it but it's my favourite new pokemon
Espathra also has an amazing ability called opportunist ("If an opponent's stat is boosted, the Pokémon seizes the opportunity to boost the same stat for itself.")
Man your videos always come out looking so clean! Who edits your videos?
I never knew crits ignored intimidate and reflect. That's really interesting
you are just CHURNING out this scarlet/violet content my man. i respect the grind
Man I'm loving all these new videos, it's not even quantity over quality.. they're all absolute bangers!
I found this chanel like 3~4 days ago and my god i watched as much videos as i could, actually motivated me to try competitive in scarlet and violet
Subscribing to you feels like a must. Being one of the most experienced and respected pokemon trainers out there, your like the real life red 👌.

Sick video keep up the good work. Also can’t wait for you to talk about the legendary, paradox and ruin Pokémon. ❤❤❤
I love Wolfie so much! This man is so happy with the game and so hyped and makes me hype too ♥️
Little correction torch song is 80 bp, squakability is not so bad all form has regular ability Intimidate or Hustle
Guts is the hidden of Green Plumage and Blue Plumage
Sheer Force is the hidden Yellow Plumage and White Plumage so it offer a good surpirse factor is you are unprepared
Flamigo has also scrappy a good ability
Also strange thing is I though wolfe was going to talk about the zacian nerf
Squawkabilly. Not ability.
Squawkabilly’s stats suck though. It could have orichalcum pulse for all that that matters and it prolly still wouldn’t be good
Bro Wolfey going ham on these vids, keep it up world champ 👑
This might be a monumental undertaking, but I think an ability tier list would be awesome.
I like that tierlists in vgc change so much with the meta
That lokix take aged poorly
Well lokix hasn't won anything vgc Wise yet, so I think it's still pretty bad.
@@gabrielchee8470
Conter argument: pachirusu managed to win, and i think we both can agree that pachirusu is not a high tier just because it won
@@MaykonDourado yeah I can shake hands on that

The sitting duck pun got a groan and thumbs up lol
I wonder if Mycelium Might will have any relevance against Goldhengo as the only option that can use status moves against it 🤔
Also thank you for all your hard work wolfey, the content is amazing!
Prolly not cause by the time toedscruel would be able to status dengo it’d be dead cause of its teammate
I use it to deal with Gholdengos consistently so definitely
6:29 “Now this, I can get behind, or maybe inside.” Wolfe 2022.
Thoughts?
My brother made a team using that and had pretty good success on the ladder.
Great video once again Wolfe!!! 🔥❤
Kinda wild that all of the starters in this gen are competitively viable and they're all on pretty level footing, rather than your starter being a difficulty selector
Edit: I'm curious how you feel about Terastallization as a gimmick compared to the others and how you feel about grinding for Tera Shards and EV training while teambuilding
I’m loving every single video Wolfey, keep them coming!!
This game makes me feel like Pokémon is experiencing power creep, like I feel this generation has a lot of Pokémon with stupidly high stats or crazy moves and abilities compared to most from previous generations.
The quality videos you put up in a small amount of time is amazing! Truly the World Champ difference, baby.
Paldea tauros fire is broken. You give it anger point and then use flower trick on it to easily give it 4x attack, while also not doing very much damage to it. Its like belly drum but better.
Wow, you even added timestamps too. Thank you for your hardwork!
i wish my boy klawf was good :(
pre 1m gang here, hopefully you get it soon you deserve it. Going to try out some new comps from this vid.
Wolfe, have you been sleeping? The amount of content you’ve been putting out is wild dude. And it’s all quality content
it’s crazy to think wolfe has been a pro pokémon player longer than some of his fans are old
At this point I am certain that Wolfey has been switched out with a robot that has 12 years in competitive pokemon knowledge with the speeds of these uploads.
I always smile and learn something watching Wolfey!
My Man is really trying hard to get the one million subs with the consistent content, keep it up!
Great wideo, love this kind of content and I think you’ve made me a believer in baxcaliber. I can’t help but think you’re underselling glimmora a bit though, I’ve been using it with an air balloon in doubles and it’s been working out really well especially against pokemon like garganacl, torkoal and great tusk (high def but low spdef)
a better signature move for kingambit is sucker punch which makes up for its terrible speed stat while still being a 70-power move.
I liked the video, would have helped if you had all the tier rankings shown on a rank chart at the end for a nice summative quick view
Love the videos. Are you going to do a video on items next? I kinda feel like you may have done it I just missed it 😭
Wolfey, you are the GOAT right now. You are simply the best.
I was satisfied with your old SwSh livestream rank 1 climbs and random videos.
And now i feel blessed to be in the timeline of super-content awesome-wolfey slamming banger videos with the world champ difference garnish.
Thank you so much. You're THE GOAT

“Brambleghast is immune to *wind* type moves”
it's immune to wind moves, not flying moves
First off, great video man, the rise in quality is incredible, and if I could subscribe a second time then I would.
Second off, I think P-Tauros should be B tier, if only because the fire form does such a great job at shutting down physical attackers, whit intimidate+will-o-wisp, not to mention STAB body press, it's definitely got potential imo since I think a lot of the big threats in this metagame are gonna be physical attackers (annihilape, bacxcalibur, ect.)
Wolfey on the grind
This was a really good analysis! I actually love the new Pokémon after playing the game so it’s cool to see how good a lot of them are competitively
“Now this one I can get inside” -WolfeyVGC when talking about Dondozo
fun note about Pawmot, terastalizing Electric after using Double Shock prevents it from removing your Electric typing
