@@johnnyutah1720 i'v been taking methadone for 10 yrs on and of. Now i started taking it 4 years ago every single day and i'm fine i need to do some kind of opioid drug everyday or methadone. I tried subutex, suboxone, nalorex, acupuncture, but non of them worked for me except methadone thats why i take methadone every single day not to start doing drugs. Methadone its not good to take it more than 1 to 2 months cuz its very adictive and its hardest opioid to quit so for a person who was doing heroin/ opioids for 5 yrs straight its best for him/her to take methadone 3 months the most and that the minimal doses. Before 15 years i was shooting up by 7 grams of heroin per day the minimal dose was 5 grams a day but not less than 5 grams one day i decided to quit i bought 10mg bottle of methadone the next day i took 30 drops whics is one 1mg/cc and i was lil high and never beter for straight 12 hours but after a few days i start using dope again cuz methadone its not same as dope dope has better feleng but if you want to listen to me they both garbage start takin methadone just to quit drugs use it for a month the most than after a month be strong you gonna get well very fast trust me i with i wouldn't come this far using methadone but like i said whatever works for everyone.

@@yan8732 na one month isnt long enough to break them connections I got, not to mention the vicious cycle, and my addictive ass personality. I need more time. Sure methadone is bad in ways and addicting but on methadone I can still hold a job, excercise, handle responsibilities, and just live my life. Was never able to do that on h or pills. If I were to stop taking methadone now I'd end up right back where I started. You ever stop to think maybe you used methadone so long because you were off and on it. I havent touched a single drug since I started. To each their own...this is my journey. Thanks for input tho. ✌

Been on methadone 2 weeks now. 3 weeks ago I was a full blown junkie, lying, pawning shit, fucking up relationships. Now 2 weeks in I'm dieting, working out, already have a job, and mending relationships. It works for me, but everyone is different. I know I could not have quit on my own. I needed help. I hear horrors stories of coming off methadone, but I feel if I taper properly I will be fine. Any advice or any experiences with methadone I'd love to hear about....

Keep Up the great work brother!! Methadone helped me come off heroin. Now I'm off methadone completely, went down slowly 5 milligram at a time, faced little to no withdrawal symptoms coming off of it. Don't listen to the nay sayers. Keep working out, that helps, work hard, keep it up!!!

I've been on methadone for 6 years and I am a completely different person than the man I was 6 years ago. I don't even look the same. EVERYTHING got better, in time of course.
My advice is don't rush yourself to get off of it, and don't let anyone else tell you that you need to.
If you feel like you need lifelong methadone therapy, then there is nothing at all wrong with that.
I know that I do, and I know that I will, that's no different than anyone else taking a medication for an illness.
People just like to say 'you don't need that stuff forever' because they feel like you're 'weak' if you can't go without it. 99% of the time, those people haven't lived through addiction, and 100% of the time, those people aren't YOU, and don't matter.
Do what's best for YOU, and don't let people who haven't lived through it, or who are uneducated on the subject tell you what to do during your recovery.
I hope you're still doing well and I with you the very BEST! Congratulations :)

@@badnewsbruner well said. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being on methadone. In my eyes, you are still sober. It does not get hardcore addicts high. I took my time getting off of it. @badnewsbruner 3 года назад +3

@@harrysack9164 I'm so glad it worked for you and you had a positive outcome :)
I love hearing MMT success stories!!
Also, even if your does is getting you a little buzzed, once you stabilize you only feel normal. After that, if you take more it ONLY makes you exhausted and you'll sleep all the time. That's the good thing about it, there is no incentive to keep upping your dose.
We need more public education on opioid replacement therapy and the physiology of drug addiction in GENERAL. I mean, we had DARE in schools in my state, but they didn't tell you that you can become physically dependent on drugs and if you try and stop you'll feel like you're dying lol.
If you speak to someone who doesn't know an addict, and has never been an addict, they'll know next to NOTHING about drugs and how the affect the human body. They'll just know that they make you feel good, and they ruin your life. That needs to change.
I would love to go do speeches at schools etc.
Once you get a few years of recovery under your belt and realize how much you just got back, you want others to be able to do the same. You want to share that happiness.

Most of the general public dosn't understand the context of opioid receptors in your brain and when you've taken the drug for so long it changes your brain pattern to where you get sick if you don't have the drug in your system it's worked for me so far, you stop kinda feeling it after a while but your not sick and your thinking is more clear. All Im saying I guess is it works for me and I support it more clinics in more places...and fyi why are they showing a bunch of xanex's when it's an opioid crisis?

Please dont take this wrong , pills , or heroin is no comparison to withdrawls from Methadone. But if it's helping , stay on it. I only have a suggestion as a 4 year Methadone 4 year heavy opiate user prior to Methadone. Try out a NA meeting. You would be very surprised the impact of people struggling daily and staying strong will have. Because truth be told , it is a constant battle. But with the right support and help , it gets easier. Stay strong and overcome.

Here is my story. I went to a clinic. Got down from 110mg to 60mg on my own. The clinic had me come in 2x a month. Once at 60mg I couldn't get lower. Life wasn't worth it anymore. So I went to detox and have been living in pure hell ever since for the last 35 days after detox. My organs are messed up and I have infections in my abdomen. There is something wrong with me now and I was on the program for 2 years
Also never a street user once. All from surgeries. Methadone can help people with strong will but eventually it will kill u. Age you fast, make your teeth fall out. Just go into treatment. This was worse than coming off of pain pills. I sleep 3 to 4 hours a night, sweat and freeze all day, have constant headaches and this is nothing compared to the first month. @@timdeathly same here I’m on 200 mg dose but I’m on a split dose I drink 90 at the clinic and bring home 120 just for that day the rest of the month I split it myself because I have a monthly pick up because I’ve been clean for over ten years now and before y’all start judging me I’m a very sick person on oxygen 24 hrs a day,Neuropathic fibromyalgia, and a shit load of other things so my primary Dr. decided not to take me off of methodone because it really does help me a lot, I don’t and won’t abuse this stuff now if a clean person was to use methodone it could be deadly, I thank God every day for this stuff or I would probably be dead ..

All that means is she is on too high of a dose. I've been on methadone for almost a decade and you would never know. The only time I've ever nodded was when my body was still getting use to it. She is either on too high of a dose, doubling her dose with take home bottles or mixing it with something else like a benzo.

Everyone’s introduction dose would be 35, and each day or week you work up to a stabilizing dose,.. The clip of the intake interview, is not accurate

    • @timdeathly
      @timdeathly 3 года назад

I started on 40, and that's the maximum starting dose. But i did have an interview asking how much i was using, and some people start way lower because of that.

95$ per week is definitely an improvement from what you spend on dope daily but it is still a lot. This is 5 years ago so things have changed. My clinic in CT takes health insurance and if you don’t have insurance it is 60 per week. It used to be $40.

From experience i can say it helps short time, bur only to replace street drugs and save money. It do only get your addiction worse if you keep on using suboxone or buprenorphine

Shoulda never been on it in the first place with your little pussy opiate tolerance just cus you got high on your methadone doesnt mean everyone does fucking sick of people saying this stupid shit oh suboxone is so much better blah blah blah okay bro cool theres addicts that have a way higher dependancy than you that need it because suboxone doesnt work well enough. Can you tell me about gravol with methadone. My sister in law is sleeping all over my house. She looks dead? I don't know what to do

    • @jamespuckett1770

@@sandrarawn2147 what does gravol mean? Is she taking it for pain or did she just start at the clinic for addiction? Do you know her prior opioid tolerance? Either way she should become tolerant to the effects like that in a couple weeks where you wouldnt even notice shes on it but do keep an eye on her when you say shes sleeping all over the house do you mean shes nodding out or shes just legitimately sleeping alot?
If its the latter dont worry shes fine but if shes nodding then like i said just look out for her because they may be raising her dose too quickly but she should adjust accordingly, i dont want to scare you just bringing the facts methadones can be tricky in the beginning overdoses generally happen in the beginning as theyre adjusting dose its not common for an overdose to occur when medically treated right but everybody reacts differently and they do happen occasionally, my clinic hands out narcan to every patient.
Just talk to her and voice your concern but in a way that doesnt make her defensive of her medication, i hope the best

@@jamespuckett1770🇨🇦 hello and thank you so much for getting back to me. Gravol is a over the counter medication for upset stomachs. The side effects causes everyone that takes it to become sleepy. My word the methadone is making her pass out where she sleeps, let alone adding gravol to it. Scares me half to death. I lost my 30 years old daughter to addiction. She passes away Dev 2018
