    They sound great. In your opinion, is this set up powerful enough to handle vocals and a keyboard? Can it "compete" with a medium volume drummer and bass player? I'm worried that it won't be loud enough to use in a band setting.

      I bought these for home use only, for small gatherings and weekend bbq's. I only use the sub on my gigs along with my Alto ts312's They are only 200 watts so I think you would be better suited with something with a little bit more power. I recommend a pair of Alto ts310's I could be wrong tho. Also depends what your band mates are using and how loud their systems are

    Question: if you connect from the troupers link output, aren’t you bypassing the subs crossover? I’ve read that you should connect to the sub then the speaker.

    • @2332gregor
      @2332gregor  5 лет назад +2

      Yes you are correct, the reason I connected this way was to take advantage of its bluetooth feature. Which by running the signal through the Troupers first allowed me to also in a sense also make the sub wireless. I will be making another video next month showing the Troupers with both the 12 inch and 18 inch sub using the crossover feature.

    Hello Gregor. I love this system, I’m thinking about if there are a lot of difference between the troupers + Sub ts212s or ts212 + ts212s.
    With the troupers is cheaper and low weight for transport in my standard car.
    With the ts212 is a little bit more expensive and more weight but is posible to use without sub.
    Possibly, the intermediate system is 2x ts210 + ts212s.
    What do you thing? I only use the system for the family or friends party’s. Good video! Thanks!

    Thanks for your video! I was hoping you could give me your honest opinion because I can’t decide!! Haha I’m french but I’ll try to be as clear as possible haha, here it is, Trouper vs ts308 (pair) Id use them for meditative/ambient indoor live events, usually 20 to 30 persons, sometimes about 50 max, everyone lay on the floor, eyes closed, next to each other on yoga mats, so its almost ‘dead silence’ and my girlfriend and I play instruments such as native flutes, didgeridoo, handpan, rav vast, tibetan bowls, voice, etc, I dont want it to be crazy loud, just enough so everyone in the room has the same experience, to give you an idea, usually we perform without any mics or sound system, but last time we had a bit more people and I felt it was not loud enough for everyone, anyway hehe what would you suggest? Do you think the trouper would be good for that? Thanks!

    • @2332gregor
      @2332gregor  4 года назад

      Hi I think you should go with the Troupers because they are definitely loud enough for what you need them for. And you can save some money as well because the 308 cost a bit more. You don't need the power of the 308. The Troupers are extremely clear and sound great, also they have bluetooth so you can stereo link them. Hope this helps.

      @@2332gregor Thanks for answer. One other thing. I have the TS212blutooth...never ever will I use that connection. Gets into clipping very fast, sound like trash. Instead I got my self a NAD D1050 24bit/192kHz DAC with balanced out. Unbelievable how hard you can drive them with some decent music. I got the TS208 instead of the Trouper, and when I crank them up over the DAC, no distortion whatsoever, just loud dynamic sound. Never feed your speakers crap MP3 songs :) . Also have some new compression drivers to test out. One is cheap Pyle, one is B&C, got some L-pads as well. I try to make a video of it later. You would be surprised how tiny the originals are :D

      Hi, I can't really comment on the comparison on the sound of the sub you are referring to as I have never heard it. They are in 2 different categories. This sub Is meant for dj or live music reproduction, where as the klipsch is meant more to reproduce movie sound for home theater applications. But I can tell you that this sub does sound exceptional for its size and up close yes u can feel the thump in your chest. Check out my other video on my channel where I did a sound test inside my garage so u can see how it sounds indoors. Hope this helps a d thanks for watching.

    Do they reproduce any midrange ? you can't tell with the track you used. It reminds me of a Bose line array, a grip of highs and a ton of lows. That might be great for a DJ but what about using it for a live act with guitar and vocals they live in the midrange.

    Not really a difference especially if you're giving a gig in that area with true bass speakers like these and loud. No reason for a sub in that area.
    The quality of a song makes a big difference, some have more bass than others.
    The reason why I say it doesn't sound any difference is because
    the speakers sound is bouncing off of the garage making it sound giving it a true bass sound without the sub.
    But I think if those speakers were in the middle of a field, the sub would be needed
    whatever quality type the song is.
    The speakers then wouldn't be able to bounce off of the garage, more so in a closed area.
    The sound is good, clear and crisp.
    I would buy these.

      Unfortunately I've never owned either one of those JBL speakers. But I think it's safe to say you're going to get more bass out of the alto sub only because it's a bigger speaker. I actually don't dj with these, I bought them for home use only when I have people over to bbq, but I usually run them for about 5 hrs or so. But u are right about them getting hot. I don't use them in direct sun light

      @2332gregor  4 месяца назад

      I've been djing for 12 years without a mixer. I've always ran my sound directly out of a Pioneer DJ Controller and it sounds great. I understand there is probably more headroom with a mixer, but for my needs and small setup I really don't bother with one.

      Could be I got em shoved in corner like hi-fi Speakers , The Mrs even comes along polishes them with Mr Sheen like they’re furniture .
      I actually love my new tops I was satisfied with my subs running Ts115A
      But now I got more power on top than bass , I love my music deep bass heavy
      The new 315 overwhelm the 215 Subs
      I’m waiting for 2000watr subwoofer now 😂😂😂 perhaps a 315 Sub
      I hope so or I’ll just have to convince the Mrs I need 3 subs .

      sleek twentyone
      You know it’s like a Strain on the Sub to run the 3 series from it’s Out put,
      Try an experiment ,..
      so I have mine configured so that the feed from the mixer goes direct to the Sub , 1 of each from per line out from mixer . so two tops and two subs,
      I ran one top from my left channel and one sub from my right channel, the Sub was pounding louder at same volume as before with nothing from its output .
      But yeah ? The tops still dominate the Sub but not as much ,
      In the end I found the best solution was to put the subs just over unity , and turn my tops down to under unity .
      The sound is more balanced,
      but if you are going to do an all nighter the subs will take a proper hammering .
      I was pleased with 215subs
      But since I bought the 315 tops I’ve been rather p’eed off. They just don’t work well together .
      I’m certain it’s because the tops are higher rated than the subs .
      If Alto don’t bring out a 2000watt Sub
      Then I may have to look elsewhere , I’d consider one very high specs 18” that can blow the walls down .
