me: oh let me look it up on eBay *sees price* NVM
ASAP Papi I just did this lmao
Haha same over here 😅
ASAP Papi same. “Oh cool a point and shoot, maybe it wont be overpriced! *checks ebay* not worth $800 smh 🤦🏻♂️
@@ImMetalMechanika definitely worth 800
Yep, probably not gonna happen ahahah
I saw one of these in a charity shop in Kingston for £4 and passed it by without realising what it was... I still loose sleep to this day about it
if you see a titanium camera just GET IT!
I know picked it up plus a Nikon FE2 and a Olympus MJU 11 with change from a tenner.
damn man! that sucks
@@CreativeLeadershipwithDaniel Exactly... just seeing an all metal camera for 4 pounds anywhere. Ya, you just buy it and ask questions later. You can sort of tell when something is high precision and probably worth some dough. I saw these on Ebay for like 900 dollars. I don't think I'd go that far, but very cool camera.
I went on eBay to see how much these things go for and I almost cried
Does george ever shoot cheap cams... i am broke
He shot a thrift shop one for a video a long while back and concluded it was pretty good
Dovydas Grigas yeah... this tc1 is a beaut tho
ultimately it shouldn't matter what kind of cam we shoot, but yea, i feel you. It's tempting
The Unrecorded Passenger yeah, the high tier ones always look so good, but i'm contented with what i have... for now lol
@@thehealthpotions lol that's what I'm trying to tell myself too, but gear acquisition syndrome is very real
I can tell that your process of writing the script has changed and I DEFINITELY like it - the production and final finish of this video all feels very professional whilst remaining natural
I also hadn’t seen that you had been wanting to increase your production quality when I commented this, but it’s definitely payed off
"writing the script" LOL oh youtube, you are so so funny...
(actual screenwriter here, stop it -- you're killing me!! 🤣)
Punk Rachmaninoff hmm I’d love to see your work! You’ve got such a massive following/success because of it!
thank god, he named a camera that was already expensive. I saw the title and got scared we'd lost another one.
I think jason from grainy days should attempt a mullet too
NF: posts about camera
Comments: Hair
The real slim shady has finally stood up.
👎
Lol ✊🏽
👍
Lmaooo
true
TC-1 is the epitome of compact camera. Minolta fitted super sharp G rokkor to tiny body and then they made that same lens on Leica M mount, it was so good. If you think this camera is expensive, search for that lens on Leica mount and see it's price alone.
Try also the Minox GT, it's waaaay cheaper and make wonderful shots (still so little). 35mm lenses though
I just realized Willem verbeck and George haven’t met yet huh?
i like his jumpr as it matches his hair and eyebrows
I'm digging the hair so much
This isn't even my final form
@@NegativeFeedback damn George out here levelling up
George will level up into 6ix9ine and get a rainbow mullet
@@NegativeFeedback Did you change you hair?
you are a bloody legend sir. thank you for teaching so much throughout your channel, honestly.
This camera was sold at around $1500 back in 90s when it was new. This is not for faint hearts to begin with.
Cute dog means instant like. The camera is pretty cute too, actually.
it's not the camera, not the film either, it's your photography skills! so good!
Fuji Tiara is a good “cheap” alternative to TC-1
I love how much your look has changed over the years, you always come up with something new to do to your hair and it's awesome! Keep being unique.
Thank you, but I really did have a shaved head for like 3 years straight
I'd love to see more point and shoot camera reviews
Maaaaan, do I miss my TC-1. I had two actually, after one died on me I had to get a second one, which sadly died after a year or so. With the current prices I don't want to invest into another one to shoot with it for a year (the first one hold up for about two years or so and I've put 119 rolls through both of them combine in the span of 3 years). The 28mm is the loveliest 28 I've ever used with the slight pincushion distortion (as opposed to barrel that is most common). The capabilities, manual focusing, spot metering, iso range, exposure compensation, focus distance in viewfinder, AF beam in low light, lit display, lens extentension to it's focus position upon halfpress, long exposure capabalities, 2/10 sec timer, round aperture... and of course the size... This is a pinnacle of analog camera engineering. Like a supernova explosion a burst of energy at the end of the life of a star, the foam at the very crest of the film era before the the wave breaking...
Thank you for making a video about my favourite camera! It's a beautiful camera with a wonderful lens. The perfectly round apeture is supposed to make the bokeh even better than the mountable version of the lens. The only problem is the camera is so small that its very easy to take finger shots. I won't be parting with mine.
I can feel the satisfying feeling of you finding your favorite camera; i know how hard it's bc i currently looking for the one who matches with my vision, and style of shooting so i'm very happy for you
I cant wait to see more works from you with this nice (and very pricy) camera
>I've had this camera with me everyday for two weeks
>lets you take more photos
>(shoots one roll in two weeks)
Make sure to get a backup camera because point-and-shoots are not very repairable! There are lots of other ones with 28mm or slightly longer lenses that cost less than $300 (sometimes much less). I wouldn't pay much attention to how nice they are because they're all fun.
28mm Primes
- Fujifilm Tiara/DL Super
- Nikon AF600/Nikon Lite Touch
- Olympus XA4
- Olympus Trip AF 50
- Konica Genbakantoku 28
- Ricoh FF-8 WR
Zooms
- Fuji Discovery Mini Dual (28mm and 45mm)
- Konica Z-up 28W (28-56mm)
- Rollei Prego 100WA (28-140mm)
Slightly longer
- Carena 60 MF (29mm)
- Nikon AF220 (29mm)
- Ricoh R1 (30mm)
- Fuji DL-200 (32mm)
- Pentax Espio Mini (32mm)
- Pentax UC-1 (32mm)
Good list thank you
me: i'm getting this right now i'm getting this right now
ebay prices: no you're not
This is a great cam, super rare now though which is why they are really dear. The lens is super sharp, nice colour & 28mm really works for everyday photography. Mine stopped working after getting a little damp whilst I was taking some snaps whilst it was raining, so be careful.
Have you shot the original Contax T? It’s my favorite Contax and I feel like it gets overlooked a lot.
every new gift from video is a George
After my 35Ti broke, I've been saving up for this one
The photo with the dog is so crazily nice!
i have the same one too, got it from my grandparents, been waiting for a video like this
Shot one of these about 10 years ago was one of my favs much more so than the Ricoh GR1s or the Contax T2 &T3s, only the Konica Hexar came close in terms of experience & pictures.
Wouldn't buy one now though even if it was for half the price they sell for now, once these old cams develop an issue it's over given there is no way of fixing or repurposing them without huge expense.
Since this is an aperture priority camera, do you ever have any issues with the shutter speed not being fast enough? If you were shooting a "fast moving" scene, would you just adjust the aperture to f8 or f16?
These photos are absolutely beautiful. Need prints asap
I don't know exactly how but your video seems way sharper than it did in the last few videos. Goal accomplished. Great video. Stoked for travel-fun-taking-photos-stuff :)
Cloudy days can end up giving you some of the nicest photos; softbox effect.
George single-handedly raises ebay prices for this camera. I wonder if this was a Konica design as Konica went on to be absorbed into Minolta in the late 90s I believe
That is a great little camera. But if you ever get the opportunity, get your hands on a Rollei AFM35 ( its a Fuji Klasse with Rollei lens).
How loud is it? I got a Samsung AF Slim, it's super sharp and the meter is amazing but it's loud AF
Minolta always comes thruuu 👏
0:17 Boom the mullet game straight ahead.
Arthur Van Damme 🤣🤣
It's hard to go wrong with a Minolta. Great cameras, great glass.
Do you prefer Minolta TC-1 over Nikon 35 Ti? I'm trying to decide between the two. Minolta TC-1 is more compact, but Nikon 35 Ti seems sharper and doesn't have such prominent vignetting. Thanks for the videos, love your channel!
What did you end up getting? Have you been happy with it? I'm looking at the TC-1, Nikon 28ti and Contax T2. Can't decide what I want?
You should get the minox 35al that’s also a tiny af point and shoot, it’s my fav
yum
Thank you. However, I also hope to see photos taken with the correct ASA.
3:08 bruh you just spent 50 seconds saying I hope it's good because I enjoy using it a lot
Always in love with your shotss, this is amazing! 😍
Whoppa !!! Those pics were supernice looking !! I think you've found yourself a little gem..
Btw, kudos on the dye... well adapted to your new little machine ;-)
Seven months later are you
Still using it?
Glad to see you making photography videos Roberto Baggio, :)
Final verdict on “LENS SHARPNESS” ?
MINOLTA TC-1 or NIKON 35ti ?
Very hesitant which one to buy, minolta for the form factor & ISO control, Nikon for wider Aperture & matrix metering..
PLEASE HELP :D
Great video my dude! Are you still using your Leica M6? Need more gmuncey content
Thanks for rising the prices! 👌😁
Why is everyone so obsessed with point and shoot cameras? Leica M’s are pretty small and you don’t have to turn them on or worry about batteries dying, or motors dying etc. A user condition one is cheaper than most of these ridiculously priced point and shoot cameras.
you can't buy a film M with a lens for $800
For the exact same reason these sold so well when they were on the market a few decades ago. They fulfill a desire for some people that a interchangeable lens camera doesn't. Or at least people believe it does. The benefits of portability and simplicity are that point and shoots have close to no impact on living in the moment. They were marketed as being for casual events, hanging out with friends, taking quick travel snapshots.
I do agree, though, that it seems silly to use point and shoots in a situation where you don't need to be in the moment. If you're just taking pictures of light-dappled fire hydrants and blades of grass then it makes far more sense to just buy an SLR or a rangefinder, and I think that part of point and shoot culture is kinda goofy.
Why are you so obsessed with Leica M? Believe me, I give you a good point n shoot photos and Leica's, 80% of the time You would not see a difference. Add form factor, price and ease of use to it and you got a stew going. Not everything needs to be "pro".
Great Quality. What film did you used?
Hey George, where do you find all these or do you just pay full price?
Hey George, any bouldering photoshoot in the future?
I LOVE YOUR VIDS. PLZ PLZ CONTINUE THIS CHANNEL 📸🔥🔥🔥 youve definitely inspired me to use film 🎞
THANK YOU I WILL
Have you or can you make a video on the Olympus Trip 35?
Love u Georgey
There's no George without his Skillshare ad
where are you getting your films developed
aaaaaaaaaaa i love the way you talk!🌻✨
You're making me regret having shaved my bleached mullet.
I'm sorry for your loss
just got myself this camera for my bday im so excited to use it! do you happen to know if i should change the iso according to the film roll im using?
It has a DX code reader so you don’t
ist it just me or is the video quality better? very good video gorgo!
Shots look nice!!
Impressive little thing.
Hey you inspired me to start doing film photography. May i ask which place yoi going to develope your films?in London?
I'd also say that the form factor of the TC1 would be considered a bit of a sci-fi fantasy
Got em
have you seen those leather cases for this camera !!!!!! their so sick !
DAMMIT GEORGE DON'T GIVE AWAY THE SECRET!
Looks about the size of a T3, which is a little larger than a pack of 20 cigarettes!
Would love to see a vid and hear your thoughts on the leica mini. I’ve got a vid coming soon hopefully after scans come back but yea, it rivals this guy in size and is so easy to carry around
just go and get some 40 50 bucks film cameras that are more unknown also good
I've got an idea! Why not make an insta just for your point and shoot photos???
Did taylor swift use one of these recently or something? They're more expensive than the contax now
Everybody s talkin bout the camera, but how can u ignore the T O N E Z of the kodak gold?
So would this replace the T4 as the god tier PnS?
Miolta TC1 or Contax t2? im torn between the two /:
love the hair bro
Yoo, where in DK r u traveling to?
Considered buying one like ten years ago, but didn’t because I’d heard how easy it broke and it’s getting difficult to fix it.
How much were these cameras before this video?
You never use Olympus XA?
The hair... wow 🤩
how good is the autofocus on this?
Yay, exactly what I need..
Fhe original Konica Hexar for auto focus, Nikon Fm2b for manual
make a video ft. jason from grainy days. i'm considering to buy this camera it's amazing
good video but what wrong with your barber mate ?
holy shit another grunge film youtuber
Hey. Ever heard of the artist günther!?
when you showed the top that’s when i realised how small it is.
Thoughts on this versus the Nikon Ti?
much more preferable to me
nice shots
Thanks, I want one now...
Great hair and video!
Where is your red shirt from?
