My exact thoughts three years ago, and its been my go to point and shoot since then, great little camera, also I love the new charity sponsor video vibe... a game changer in youtube videos for sure, well done mate, keep it up.
the MJU II has a really annoying shutter button. It doesn't require any pressure, so accidental shots happen more often than i'd like. That's why i prefer the first MJU. It's hands down my favourite point&shoot, and i'm glad you made a video about it! And mad respect for bringing light to a charity! Too bad i live in Finland and they only ship to UK
been watching your videos since the beginning and they'd inspired me to take my parents' old point and shoot and carry it with me always. captured some precious memories with it, but unfortunately i dropped it one too many times whilst on a trip. got a new one now and even my friends love it! thanks for the quality content mate, appreciate your work :) x
I bought the Stylus Infinity several years ago for around $50, I've recently been playing around with it and have been impressed at the results it can give if you work around its limitations. I recently made a video about this camera, tracking my progress as I shot 1 roll of film and tried to achieve a high quality darkroom print. This just goes to show gear is not everything. Thank you for what you do for the film community brother, keep it up!
Considering point and shoot for my next foray in to the medium of film. All this is with an aim to help lend a film look to moving picture in the future. Colour Science and all that... I'm exploring it this way.
Bought the mju iii for about £45 a few months ago, then a few weeks later I found a mju ii at the thrift shop for £1! Couldn't believe my own eyes, but I haven't tested it either yet.... Time will tell if I made the best bargain of my life
I love my Mju. It just works. It's sharp enough, tiny, easy to load on the go, the battery lasts ages, the flash is shockingly accurate, the AF is even more shockingly accurate. I've been in literally 1 insance with it where I wish I'd had the 2.8 lens instead and even then, the shot was salvageable...
@@32ndFoto as you're holding the camera lens-forward, there's a little door on the right side by where the strap connects. Use you finger nail to open the little door from the bottom.
I tested one during 2016, I loved that, and in a recent trip with my girlfriend, we were walking near a park in Buenos Aires and I realized that in a street market they had a MJU, I immediately went to ask the price, it was around 7usd, some days ago I even used the camera together with my Mamiya RB67 Pro SD to cover a popular manifestation at Santiago!!
I’ve been thinking about getting an mju for months now but i seriously can’t decide between the mju i and mju ii. Someone told me that the mju ii photos come out a lot better but i’m still not sure. Can someone give me some info? 😅
I miss my mju 1 It sadly passed away 3 months ago Death cause is unknown but I shot dozens of rolls thru it, traveled with it, permanently lived in my pocket, and now it rests on a shelf along with other dead cameras
Hey! I'm having some trouble with my camera and have no idea what to do. Even with the camera off, lens covered, my flash stays up. When I turn on the camera, the lens comes out and goes back in right away. I have no idea as to what I did wrong...
I got one from my dead granny. When i was younger i thought that this cam is to old to use/ take nice shoots, but now i will get more into shooting with films.
Hmm, I got an LT-1 which is basically the Mju with a leather cover but there’s no “half press” on mine. Could be why all my portraits were out of focus…
i got a mju 1 too but every time i shoot using the fill-in flash dark shadows start to surround the object (model). does anyone know how to solve this problem? (shot with kodak gold 200 during a sunny day)
I was lucky enough to pickup a MUJ-1 for $10 at a Value Village here in Toronto a few weeks back and it's been my new go to when I leave the house. The weight, (or lack there of), is the key factor.
Thank you. I was gifted a box of cameras and can’t wait to play with this one. I was going to give it away but not anymore after reading comments. 😎 will shot Kodak Gold like you in LA. 😉
I abused mine all around Japan, thought I lost it at one point and was more annoyed about losing the roll of Velvia than the camera haha. It showed up later jammed in a bag pocket. Seriously great for snapshots.
My dad bought me the Stylus (Americans got a different marketing name) as my first "real camera" when I was 13 years old... yep in 1997. I'm 35, I still have it, take pics of my daughters at Disney with it using Kodak Gold 200 just like back in the 90s. Works great to this day.
The motor in mine gets stuck and continually says it’s empty :( Hopefully I can buy a better one at some point? I think I may prefer my chinon bellami, a barn door style f/2.8 35mm point and shoot with an advance lever
I found one in a charity shop for essentially free, felt bad about it so i ended up giving them extra. pretty nice performer, especially for something you can yeet across the room and not care too much
Have used both and got them for peanuts on e bay before the price of the 2 rocketed, the 1 has only gone up in price the last two years, the 1 is the better all round camera as 2 can over expose also lots of them will have light leaks now so wouldn't pay a fortune for one, the mju 2 I had 12 years ago did have a slight leak on edge of photo but could be cropped out in scans so was OK.
bought two Mju 1's for about a fiver each only 8 years ago. the prices have absolutely gone mad. that said, it is an excellent camera. the 2 brings a 2.8 lens, smaller body and weather sealing but the autofocus wasn't heaps better nor the lens that much sharper. the pair are some of the best cameras ever made.
It depends. If you are new to the concept of fotography, get a Point and Shoot. They are usually unexpensive and, as the name sugests, you just point and shoot it. You don't really have to worry about exposing your picture at all. Now, if you are a bit more experienced in cameras, get a nikon fm, a canon ae-1 or a minolta of some kind. These are less expensive alternatives, and you get more control over your image. You can shoot me at @estebanglzzz on Instagram for any questions. I'm new to film myself, but have been shooting digital for some time now. Good luck!
@@sundancekidmx2332 yeah ive been reading about it all day and a point and shoot camera sounds like it would fit me, at least for now. Thank! Ill make sure to do that:)
After the film is developed, you (or the service that you paid to develop your film) will be able to scan the negatives (aka the film roll) and create a computer file to send to your email.
Hey I’m heading off to London and Scotland in december, would you guys have any shops to recommend where I can buy some good film cameras, like the mju or other point and shoots?
Pretty sure RUclips reads minds now! Just come home from a visit to a second hand store where I bought a Mju-II and on top of RUclips recommended is this video.
I have the MJU II with super zoom. The zoom feature does this bizarre crop in the corners. Other wise it's a fun little camera. Also, what a great charity. :-D
It's not the camera it's the man behind the camera that takes the great shot hope you have a great day great show.
Damn George is out here nurturing vulnerable children and our RUclips recommended

i just got this camera and wanted a review from you! perfect timing, love from germany

Great video format.
I like the mix of narration, real-world usage, photo samples and this being for a good cause.
Already own the mju II. I like it for the fact that it's so small, compact and I can carry it wherever I want. That itself leads to the best pictures
I have this camera and have been really happy with loads of the photos I've taken on it! Thanks so much for reminding me of the reasons to love it

both the videos and the photos have been amazing lately. you're on a roll, man

Great video, one of my favorite point & shoot cameras I've found 4 of them in thrift stores so far.
Glad to have you back George!

I went to a thrift store a few months ago. Picked up a Nikon L35AF for $2. One of my favorite point and shoots ever. 🥰
Cristian Murs what a steal! Love that camera. Have fun!
that cam was one of my favorites
now this camera cost about 80 - 140 €

love the review, LOVE the barnardos ad
Found the mju zoom (stylus zoom) when I was in California and bought it in a thrift store. It's a surprisingly good camera. 👍
Everybody on ebay looking for this camera rn

poor mans portra
I honestly prefer Gold over Portra. Punchier colours and more contrast.
Can you review "Pentax Espio Mini" i cant view any in depht review on it. IMHO its better than the mju ii
