The more I use Caster I now see it has a delay problem I so far can not fix. Doing talk overs it has a slite delay so it makes talking very hard as its like hearing my own echo in my headphone. The faster I talk the harder it is to use. When I shut caster off I have no problem. I sent a e-mail in to support will see what they say. I have it set to the lowest latency setting and that still is not getting rid of it all. Still good for mixing in the MAC sound to get it out to video as that is all pre-recording. But anything live talking or every playing an instrument it has a delay. I have to turn it off to record in Logic Pro once off the delay is gone. But if I need t be talking live and using MAC audio then I get the delay when turning it back on..
I cannot stress enough how long I've been looking for a software that can do this! Thank you so much this video has helped me out a bunch! Left a sub and like 👍
I don't understand why so many people seem so enthusiastic about this. The price for me is $118 now, and the company has been continuously jacking up the price. That's a sign that they may later on state that you need to get a subscription or whatever, just so they can make more and more money. There's no way I'm paying this just to be able to get my mic recognised in OBS. And the fact that I needed to first install this software to learn the steep price is a big red flag as well. Uninstalled! EDIT: The app installs virtual audio devices that are not uninstalled with the app and cannot be manually deleted unless you perhaps go through the Mac Library settings one by one. Awful app!
Interesting tool. I've been using Blackhole to route the audio from Mac & iPad into OBS so far. Am I correct in thinking this bypasses using BH altogether (I could see you had it installed)? BH has been working generally fine but occasionally I find that the audio being streamed has been messed up - nothing obvious to see but it sounds like the sample rate has been changed from 44.1 to 48kHz (deleting the audio device in OBS and recreating it seems to fix it, but it's seemingly random) so wondering if Caster might avoid that problem.
This is awesome! thanks for the adviice. this is a game changer for me! While I don't live stream, I do recordings for work and many of your tips have come in super handy!
Excellent video and app. Unfortunately, the price has already been bumped up to $59. Still not terribly expensive, but this seems to be a tactic that many companies use: first sponsor influencers and get them to pitch products at low prices; then increase price soon after.
I think it’s more a case of not knowing what price is profitable or what the demand will be for a product. Especially when it’s that new. I don’t think it’s anything nefarious.
The only competing product at the moment with hardly the features has is Loopback...it is just a mixer to a virtual device. VoiceMeeter is said to be in the works for OSX...but once again the ability to have individual audio devices for each input is pretty insane. Loopback is also $99, so for the features this has, against the competition with barebones functionality.....the price is still good buy.
Once I created multiple separate audio sources I cannot control the volume from the caster mixer like you can when they are all on the same. Is there a solution? Thanks.
