@@arhangeo it could also be that this content required additional time to be properly implemented. It’s the same reason why several games don’t immediately have new game plus as a feature.
On the one hand it is unfortunate that not all gameplay is available from the start, but in the end of the day the developers need to eat. This way we the players get more content in the game and the developers have better job security. Im a big fan of it given the story is finished at release

I missed, for example, the option of hiring a companion/companions who would help you, like in Skyrim. This would be useful during fights with more enemies. It is unrealistic that 1 man is able to defeat 5 heavily armed soldiers who surrounded him. It should be possible to hire mercenaries

I need a feature to spend all the wealth you accumulate. It is kind of tragic when you get few hundred groshen as main quest reward while you have 200k groshen in your inventory and nothing to spend them on.

@@8Paul7 Yes, full fledged Expansion Packs that expand the campaign or overhaul the game because it was severely lacking like The Witcher. Not a bunch of content packs that were, either, cut out of the base game, trickling out over months to keep the player hooked and the game in the news cycle, or that the team couldn't get ready for release. I'd rather have devs releasing the game 6 months later in complete and optimized state than push it out the door hoping to fix it over time.
@ Developers already spent entire year optimizing, polishing and bugfixing the game to ensure this release will be much smoother than in KCD1. After 7 years I do not exactly blame them for not wanting to delay it again by another year. And many people do enjoy getting new content after the release to have a reason to come back.
@ We'll see how optimized and polished the game really is on release and we already know it's not content complete. I think they just reached a point where the game had to start making money and pushed any additional development into the post release phase.

Depends. We don't know the base game's scale as it is. But considering it has two maps instead of one like in the first game, it's safe to assume it's already much larger than the first. I can understand why Hardcore mode needed to be delayed given all the changes made to the core game mechanics, but haircuts seem too small an addition to push back.

@@SeraphxEden I had the same problem with KCD1, BG3 and Rogue Trader. I played all 3 to death at release only for them to add a bunch of features and polish later. With all the other games coming out and the huge commitment those 3 require they may only get one playthrough and I'd prefer it was with the ultimate, complete version.
Yeah I do that with all major releases. A year fixes most if not all the bugs, includes dlc expansions, and is cheaper.

I was going to pre-order the gold edition (since the warhorse armor was so cool in the first title), but I'm really disillusioned at the direction Warhorse is taking with the sequel. Giving Henry the choice of homosexuality and dropping a random east African in the middle of Renaissance Bohemia is disheartening. The problem isn't the existence of homosexuals in medieval Bohemia, they're prevalent throughout history. The problem is that the developers shifted their design of Henry from a set character with a personality to a contradictory blank slate who, against their previous statements, can now choose to be a homosexual. I imagine this is to widen the tent so gay players can get just as "excited," but it betrays the spirit of the game and especially the fanbase. Regardless of it being player's choice, the possibility of that romance implies Henry is a bisexual whether the player acts on it or not, which ironically takes control away from the player and their story of Henry. If they wanted to shoe-horn homosexuality into a player character, they should have created a different player character. They did this with the Woman's Lot DLC (maybe that was a sign for things to come), why can't they segregate it now?
As for the wandering Malian, it isn't totally out of the realm of possibility. However, it's so statistically unlikely that someone like Henry, even as an adventurer, would run into the guy that it comes across as nonsensical and pandering to a fanbase that could, on the average, not possibly care less about the inclusion of foreign cultures. He's one of maybe ten total Muslims (let alone Africans) hanging out in Bohemia at the time, and he just so happens to be in this tertiary settlement and not locked up in some nobles court or on some diplomatic mission for the Ottomans? Give me a break. If the devs wanted to be historically accurate and throw some "outsider" types at Henry they would've been better off introducing him to exiled Ashkenazim or something.
Most of the time this criticism is met with garbage like "it's our story to write," "it isn't a history textbook," "you don't have to engage with it," or my favorite: "just don't buy the game then." Okay then, I won't, and others wont, either. Maybe it'll be enough to change something, but probably not, and we'll keep revising history to be just as obnoxious as the bottom quintile of society until original concepts like KCD 1 stop appearing and we're left with riveting titles such as Bi-curious Vikings of Allah 2: Discovery of America. Gamergate might as well have been the Mayan apocalypse for digital media.

A) The fact that you broke promises in the first game (Hundreds of combatants for one battle, finished story)
B) Are including paid DLC before the game even releases
C) Lied to the entire fanbase about whether Henry can pursue homosexual relations.
I have no problem with LGBTQ themes in a story, but I do have problems when a game developer openly states to their community that an entire country is 'Lying' only for the truth to be shown not 48 hours later.
Warhorse studios propped themselves up on a high horse, claiming to be against modern gaming journalism, but they engage in the exact same practices the media does. It's really shameful.

Literally in the past day or so it was announced the game only had 1.5M players within 2 months of release, was a tremendous failure 50% down from EA's expectations, and the director 'left' EA just a few days ago after nearly 20 years with the company...

In KCD 1, Istvan Toth and Erik was gay. It is clearly shown they were mocked for it too, and they will be in KCD 2. There were gays back in the days too, and just because there are gays, doesn't mean they will be shown in a "positive light". Likely as in the first game, Warhorse will probably represent how gays were seen and treated back then according to the focus of KCD which is historical accuracy. I couldn't care less if there's gays in the game, what matters is that it is represented in a historically accurate way, which is the focus of KCD and should remain so. It's possible that the gay rumor is a choice, and will have negative consequences.
