I really enjoy your videos. I am glad you are fixing this car up. Of all of the Colonade cars, I like these the best. Keep up the good work, and if people dont like the videos. Instead of complaining about your videos, watch the videos that you like. No one is forcing you to watch your videos.
I personally think you don’t half ass anything. You do things like I do, the best you can and on the cheap. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, and I learn a lot from watching you.
On that Malibu dont worry about the filler panels. You can tuck the bumpers and problem solved. I did my 76 Cutlass that way. If you ever dye seats again get a sprayer for gardens and do your mix. Adhesive promoter on the dash and paint it. Great videos and educational for us guys wanting advice.
I hope that dye holds. It sure does make the interior look like new again. Buy 1 more can of the spray and do the center console. Keep it up and to hell with the negative comments, they are just jealous.
I watch a lot of other guys that do the will it run videos. Then they half-ass the rest of the vehicle just good enough to sell it and move on to the next car and video. But I look forward to seeing your videos they most. The full tear down and rebuild that you do is much more educational and entertaining than the others. Everything you do is top notch to me! These are cars that look great, and you can daily drive. Keep the vids coming!
Great episode! I just painted my 74 Malibu’s inner fenders & backside of the outer fenders. Budget repair doesn’t mean half-ass, full restorations start at 2-3x the car’s value and go sharply up from there. Great job explaining why you choose each method of repair and how to do them.
The seats look 10x better than before. The spray bottle was a good idea. I was thinking of using a mini paint roller. I think it would give you deeper penetration. Car looks awesome. Can’t wait for the paint job. You do you! Don’t worry about what others say. As long as you’re satisfied , that’s all that matters. 👍🏻
I like the way you put the cars you work on back to real steel condition and working and removing the rust instead of just plastering Bondo and calling it done.. Looking forward to seeing this 70's classic back on the road when its done. Your doing a great job in my book!
It’s coming along really nicely you spend way more time explaining what you’re doing/ how to. Looks good it’s your way don’t worry about it I was buying a car I would buy one from you you go over a lot that most people wouldn’t do just to sale or fix it most people don’t go that in-depth to fix
Lee is teaching y'all step by step how to have a cool car on a budget. Hard work does pay you back if you know how to do it and source the parts paint etc. In my opinion Lee is doing a good job on the cheap. Oh spray the dye on with a spray bottle scrub it in with a scrub brush set in sun all day long on a hot day rinse off with cold water wash with soap then rinse with cold water set in sun again to dry and it shouldn't transfer or bleed. If memory serves right used to have to add vinegar to rit dye guess they changed it and how have a good one dude and keep doing what you are doing .tell the cork sniffers to jump off a cliff lol.
At first I had a hard time watching such a long video. But when you chopped the roof off and put it back on. I can’t wait for the next video. Great work. I feel for ya doing all that alone. But you get it done even in all that heat!!! Great job!!!
Some do the long ones without that much work. Restoration work is taxing without having to film and explain the what and the why. I like the long vids. when i have the time.
I just like watching you save another car. Same reason I like DD Speed Shop. Saving one car at a time. You don't have to compare yourself to any other RUclipsrs. You do you and I'm still going to watch 😊
Dixie Restoration Depot is the place that carries the rear bumper filler, they don't have a Ebay store, they sell through their own website 👍 nice work as always Lee, as for the keyboard restorers, they have never done this stuff in their lives! Keep doing what you are doing Lee, you do quality work 👍The rit dye will do just fine,it is made to dye washable fabric, which I have used it for years without any dye fade or coming off, just let it dry in the sun and Then wipe with a cloth to get rid of the transfer that is left as a powder on the too of the seat.
For Clunkers and classics a Chevelle is looking good don't pay any attention to what them other ones say there's no one in with Tara car down and put it back together and do it the way you do it can you do a hell of a job I've seen a lot of people do a lot of things but they do not do nothing like you do can you do a great job for used parts the new quarters like you said it's a parts car to make a great car keep on doing what you're doing cause you always done the best job of all jobs on all your cars I'll be watching tomorrow or your next video whichever you put out and when you put it out I'll be watching every time thank you for listening to me and God bless
My father does collision work for insurance jobs, It takes skill to do what you do and I recognize it. These kids are half assin it because they have no skill set. Those who know what's up, know you are skilled. Trust me your yt channel will grow, theirs grow fast like a snowball that'll melt in time, yours will grow like the formation of a wrecking ball, and crush their glass cities.
I’ve had decent luck with the dupli color cloth and vinyl in a rattle can. You’ve probably used it before I’m sure. I used it on my truck seat in 2013. I just had to redo it last year. It wasn’t aweful but I had redone other stuff and wanted to make it back nice looking. I’ve only used black though.
Add the fabric dye to the warm hot water and put it in a spray bottle spray it on the upholstery and then let it dry for a couple days and then rinse it off with the pressure washer I hope you see this comment and I wish you the best
Build coming along. I'm always open to others' opinions if they are knowledgeable, or helpful as to doing something a different way (such as you want to use white lithium grease on those door tracks, won't gum up like bearing grease) but just ignore those who want to criticize, they are the type that fail at everything they do. I'm enjoying the build.
Looking good, hopefully that dye works. It might. I got lucky using some blue dye on a car one time, I don’t recall the brand. It dried good and it didn’t get on clothes or skin so hopefully that red won’t.
You going further than I do on my stuff , fck the haters. Which nothing of mine is for sale. I just fix up my old trucks for me . If something pops up cheap. I buy it and start over playing with it. I’ve sold a few but they have to make it worth my while if they want it. They don’t that’s fine. I advertise nothing for sale.
Lee get some of the old Scotchguard spray for fabric water proofing that might keep your dye from bleeding it’s a silicone barrier made by 3M. It might work to keep the dye from rubbing off.
Half ass lol I don't think so..what I do know it's a lot of hard work looks good keep it up I enjoy every episode glad you are doing it for people to see
Lee you do quality work on all your cars fuck them they can watch the other videos and see the half ass work. Keep up the good work the malibu is turning out great.
Most of the people who make the bad comments, probably never done bodywork in their life and more than likely if they even have a job it’s probably sitting on their ass punching buttons
Fluid Film works well in some applications, I just can't stand the smell. Por-15 I use on everything including wood, it even fills in small pin holes in metal, it stopped a leak on one of my boats.
My grandpa used to say opinions are like assholes everybody has one . Until these keyboard mechanics pay your bills they can keep their negative comments to themselves .
hey Lee i should told you if you had a shampoo that on there fix the red die like you going to clean it and just spray it on there i hope you get this message and as you spay it on there and take it back off ..................if you clean the seats first it might be able to reuse the red die over untill you get all it done i would let them sit outside until dry i hope this helps you better
If they don't like to watch your videos then why do they watch I don't understand why they feel like they have to send negative comments it is simple don't watch .they have to put out that negativity in there and try to ruin somebody else's day. Cuz they are miserable themselves. And I like how u build the whole car and don't have a fortune in it .
Have you thought about converging the headlights to a 74? It looks similair to the laguna but those 74 front headlights are super easy to come by and cheap
use some scotch guard or clear sealer keep it moist like and fabic they all need care not oil more like water proofer a oil type keeps it from bleeding but moist
hey Lee,,i used to make tie dye shirts with rit dye they would fade over time but never transferred from shirt to me or anything else. maybe they didn't wait for it to dry fully
Insane amount of work great job Lee, what a transformation!
Thanks
Negative Nelly commenters are not doing their own work, you do great work and put a lot of heart and soul in each build. Screw those lazy no goods.

I've had great luck using krylon multi surface spray paint and used it on carpets and cloth seats.. interior panels.. so far so good

Looks like it worked, after it sets up good, should not bleed on to clothes, looks 100% better
You are doing a damm good job bro I love it keep it up i can’t wait until you are done with it ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Excellent work 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿 a lot of talking I watch on 1.5 #Subscriber
When use the dye we let it dry power wash it apply 2 or 3 coats with the power washing that stops it from rubbing off.
Most of the people who make the bad comments, probably never done bodywork in their life and more than likely if they even have a job it’s probably sitting on their ass punching buttons
Spray all the interior material that you dye with heavy coats of 3m Scotchgard, it will seal it in..
Always enjoy watching the channel.was wondering if you would be working on the van again in the future
Yes
I got the same problem, all of my neighbors around my house are lunatics with the fireworks on 4th of July.
Thanks for sharing the tip on the dye hope it works out also have you tried Lokweld heat resistant contact spray? Worked great on headliner.
Lee the reason I watch your channel is because you don't dance or do karate your channel is all business thank you!!!
Thanks
Think a cowl hood would look great on that car
Nice to talk shit when they sitting on there couch where as your actually giving life back to cars that are usually scraped 👍🤙
Yeah northern guy here i see this all the time .
Rarely do I see a car this bad down here.
Red pinstripes on the silver stripes would set off the red interior!
it's getting a little red pinstriping
Fluid Film works well in some applications, I just can't stand the smell. Por-15 I use on everything including wood, it even fills in small pin holes in metal, it stopped a leak on one of my boats.
My grandpa used to say opinions are like assholes everybody has one . Until these keyboard mechanics pay your bills they can keep their negative comments to themselves .
I can't help but believe that car spent some time up north in the salt belt 😜
Salt air will rot your car just as bad, if not worse from the inside out
It's never been out of Texas. Salt air from the Texas beaches killed it.
Yeah salt air kills cars I know a guy that lives on myrtle beach and his cars are all rust buckets!
Snap up a classic monetize the repair. let's put it on youtube.
I can't stand working on this modern day junk anymore😮
hey Lee i should told you if you had a shampoo that on there fix the red die like you going to clean it and just spray it on there i hope you get this message and as you spay it on there and take it back off ..................if you clean the seats first it might be able to reuse the red die over untill you get all it done i would let them sit outside until dry i hope this helps you better
Brake kleen is a very good wasp dropper
leave it back in the heat and the sun for a month then power spray it , i use rit dyes
How does the frame of the car look? Considering the sheet metal was so rotted...
It's good
I wonder if you could make a rear bumper filler out of metal just so you can't see through between the bumper and tail lights, coming along great.
Or maybe cut a piece of plexiglass strip to fill the hole, paint it, never know the difference.
@@Rick-O-Shay60
Or a piece of vinyl siding? cut shape.....Heat it to bends......???? Maybe

Your also lifting the weight of the window . Once you have power locks and windows its hard to go back.
Try using cloth water proof spray over it after it dries
use some scotch guard or clear sealer keep it moist like and fabic they all need care not oil more like water proofer a oil type keeps it from bleeding but moist
