My wife is losing her hair - probably due to the medication she has been taking to treat her psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Having seen Dr Berg's videos on those subjects I am sure the root cause for all of these issues is a gut deficiency that could be treated with improved diet. Yet doctors here all seem to ignore the nutritional aspects. Frustrating! Thanks Dr B👍🏼
Kalonji” also known as black cumin is a very popular spice in every kitchen. In English, it is called fennel flower, black caraway, nutmeg flower, Roman coriander. It is a flavorful spice that has its own sweet and nutty flavor and Fenugreek seeds. One spoon each of Kalonji seeds n fenugreek seeds n crush them to powder. Take 200ml of virgin coconut oil n 50ml of castor oil. Mix all 4 of them. Keep the mixture in the by the window to get enough Sun for a month. In between stir the mixture and get it mixed occasionally. After a month, strain the oil ( it will be black, brown n greenish) n apply twice a week on head. Wash with a shampoo or soap which doesn't have bad chemicals ( u may need to invest here). Eat leafy vegetables, drink water n sleep enough. Stay away from anxiety n worries as much as possible..
Honestly, going bald is a good thing. Pick up an electric razor, and you'll never have to pay a barber for a haircut again. Plus, being bald isn't the stigmatism it once was. A lot of bald celebrities have leveled the playing field for the look. Bruce Willis, Patrick Stewart, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel..the list goes on and on. If you stop being so self conscious about your hair, you can own the bald look and be a lot happier to just be yourself.
@@Rob-fp3xq Because it's freakin' expensive to try it, not to mention the continual cost of barber shops, shampoo, etc. Going bald is natural and practical.
6 months into a self made treatment based on this, regular scalp massage, and weekly-ish derma rolling, plus I started taking dht blockers saw palmetto, pumpkinseed, and one other I forget...It appears to have at least stopped my hair loss, which was coming on rapidly. I'd say I've had some regrowth if anything, but that might just be healthier looking hair follicles that were already there
Dr. berg, I lost 30% of my hair by doing what your video said, add oregon oil to flax seed and applying to scalp for dandruff. Please do not advise people to do this. I am devastated. It'll take years to repair the damage to my hair
Trace Minerals was the answer for my hair loss. I lose very little hair after taking Dr. Berg's trace minerals. As an added benefit, my nails look great too. I hope my vascular system is benefiting as well.
You also have to stimulate your scalp. Get a dermaroller to run over your scalp. You have to get circulation and nutrients to the follicles. Don't push to hard on the dermaroller but definitely hard enough make the scalp warm and stimulated. Also get a pumpkin seed oil and rub it on your scalp. You will get rid of DHT faster. But yes take an oral supplement too.
This is the first time a Dr. Berg video has made me question all his other videos, which I have had no problem with until now. We're getting into Dr. Oz territory with this one.
Your natural Testosterone being converted to DHT which "Poisons" your hair follicles is what causes Male Pattern Baldness period. Take Finasteride 1 mg daily to stop 70% conversion. Take this for 3 to 6 months, go thru your first shed. These hair were going to fall out anyway. They are making way for new healthy hairs. Dermapen your head once a week and use Stemoxydine the day after. You keep the hair you regrow even if you stop using the Stemoxydine unlike Minoxidil where your hair falls out if you stop using it. Continue to use Finasteride.
I have been saving all my falling hair since 18 years old (23 years now since start). I am sure at some point in life, some technology will be available and I will be able to glue all back.
I lost all my front hairs and it was working its way to the back, tried so many vitamins and it never helped, did my research on hair transplant and turkey was my cheaper options,3 yrs ago flew to turkey got my transplant and iv never been happier after my transplant,oh how it looks good now.
Damn why didn’t I think of doing this 😭😅 . I’m 22 dealing with the same thing bro, it sucksss, I’ve had to stop playing soccer cause I feel uncomfortable
Most of Dr. Berg's products are very expensive for the average person! Therefore, people should always shop around to get a better deal in these difficult times.
And he tells you to shop around d but watch for cheap stuff with fillers.. His vitamin b is the best! Dosage is 9 tablets a day. I take 3, sometimes but rarely 6. I would be bouncing off the walls if I did 9.
There is. I lost my hair last year, due to changing to keto and several personal reasons. As soon as I started watching out for the vitamins and trace minerals and adding those to my daily intake, my hair started growing back. I had the last of my hair shaved off at the start of September last year, started taking additional vitamins and trace minerals then. My hair is regrowing and healthy and abundant again (the longest strands are 17 cm now). I can tell you, for a woman that's used to having long, lush hair (really long, like down to my hips), going bald was a horror.
@@andyman8630 I used a multi-vitamin complex and an extra dose of amino acids. I also started using nutritional yeast to get those B Vitamins rolling. I found all of that out on my own though, somehow I missed this video in my research. Basically, what he advises on is what I did and it worked.
@@andyman8630 That is why I used a multi-vitamin complex, which also has all the needed trace minerals. The more interesting question is, why did you change your original question after I answered? I spent a lot of time finding out what was going on in my body, and the fact that my hair is growing back as strong and lush as it used to be, indicates that I am on the right track.
I started sleeping with fish skin wrapped over my bald patch. I found wild salmon to be the best. I tape the raw fish to my head and drift off to sleep. After 6 weeks i can already see some regrowth. ty Doc.
Dr. Berg so many people appreciate you and your wife Karen. Your are knowledgeable , articulate you have a great low-key sense of humor . You are an excellent teacher! You're passionate about the information you give to us. It is a joy listening to all of your videos. Happy New Year to you and your family. Thank you again Dr Berg.
We don't need to use toxic chemicals or drugs to solve hair loss problems. A lot of the issue comes from inflammation in the body. When we supplement properly, eat well, reduce inflammation, we set the stage for growth. I also use peptides and ozone therapy with my hair loss patients.
I HAVE TRIED ALL OF THIS STUFF AND MORE FOR YEARS WITH NO LUCK AT ALL....I DON'T KNOW OF A SINGLE PERSON WHO EVER GREW HAIR ON THERE HEAD FROM ANY DIET VITAMIN OR HERB PERIOD.
Thank you Dr.Berg I got back my Hair. It started regrowth now I'm following your diet plan and nutritional yeast. I take biotin 10,000mcg zinc 84mg calcium and vitamin D3, Omega 3, all the trace minerals and B vitamins.
My dad's bald patch has totally regrown at the age of 88 after a 45 year absence. No idea why. Sure wish I did. Not been able to visit him in nursing home for months and when I do he has a full head of hair. This is for real, I'm not joking. Beats me.
Regular massaging of the scalp like 2 times a day will definitely help. Just make sure you still see hair follicles on your scalp, if the follicles are gone its permanent baldness already.
No doctor either. I watched a few of his videos and I find some of them full if half truth. I was told by a doctor that hair loss is alsocaused by inflammation in your body. I take all the vitamins, I am generally healthy. I got covid in November and a month later my hair started falling. There is a good hair remedy I am using now. They've been on the market for 20 years. It helped my falling hair in the past, and it helped again. It's a herbal product, it stimulates the growth of hair from the scalp. If it didn't help, people wouldn't buy the product and the company wouldn't be successful.
To all those saying the natural remedies don’t work, I will testify that I know of one that does, because it worked for me. I had experienced thinning hair due to menopause. I started taking biotin and folic acid daily and the hair loss stopped. I then started taking Super Saw Palmetto Extract and after 2 months I started seeing very noticeable new hair growth. Not only was I seeing new hair, it was brown and not gray.
Sharon Greenberg, I take 400 mcg of folic acid, 10,000 mcg of biotin, and 480 mg of the Super Saw Palmetto Extract daily. The biotin and folic acid are easily available at any of the drug stores, but they generally only carry the Saw Palmetto herb and not the extract. It has to be the extract. I purchase it from Amazon. Hope this helps.
These natural remedies work if you are biotin/nutrient deficient and that’s what causes the hair loss. DHT sensitive scalps however will not see the same results as you
Sina Karimi, nutritional deficiencies is obviously not the only cause for hair loss, but it is “a cause.” Taking biotin and folic acid helped me, so it could also help others. As I stated in my original comment, it stopped the hair loss for me. It did not promote new hair growth. I came across information on Super Saw Palmetto Extract while reading about DHT and its use for treatment of prostate issues. Some of the men in the article experienced new hair growth after taking the Super Saw Palmetto Extract. The article had a section for commenters, and a woman had stated that she too had experienced new hair growth after using SSPE. I had new hair growth after 2 months. I don’t fully understand all the reasons why different people experience hair loss, it was only my intention to share with others how these natural remedies helped me. 😊
You may be able to slow and even regain your hair loss specially if its due to lack of proper nutrition but if the reason is something to do with your genetics then there is nothing you can do to stop balding.
I’ve been a cosmetologist for 15 years. Baldness (alopecia) “is a disorder of the sebaceous glands”. The cause is not one factor but all. Therefore, there can not be a single reason. Just be healthy and be loving.
We can find the trace minerals in Himalayan salt for example as it has 85 trace minerals which is very good. And not to forget the seaweed which has lots of trace minerals as well. Thanks dr berg
I lost hair over time. Only thing I can say is that I grew most all of it back with rogaine type products, which do in fact work. I use the WalMart foam brand of it. It did take a whole year to fully come back in, but most of it came back. So no matter what anyone says, I do know that this particular product works for hair regrowth. My hair loss was caused because of genetics combined with the stress I put my body through via extreme dieting to lose weight. Super bonus - no thinking, formulas, analytics, nuking it out, managing like 10 different "natural" ingredients, etc. Done. Boom. Easy. And cheap, in hindsight. Costs me about 10 bucks a month.
@@carolcole570 there is a women's version of it, yes. DO NOT use the men's version, ots a different concentration. Also, check into Propecia, which stops hair loss (combine using it with Rogaine, thats the magic combo that I have been using to much success).
I'm wondering why doctor Berg did not mention DHT blockers Finasteride and Dutasteride 0.5mg... I've been taking these for 17 years with amazing results
There are a lot of factors involved with hair loss. Different factors affect different people differently. Dr. Bergs advice here is sound nutritional advice and will help if your problem is a nutrient deficiency. There are genetic factors that make baldness more likely in some people but that does not mean there is no defense. Stress is also a major factor as well as bad bacteria and viruses. Hair loss could be an indicator of other more serious health problems.
Or it could just be Androgenetic alopecia and presently there is no cure. You can be calm, excited, depressed, happy, outgoing, introverted, stressed, relaxed. Some of these may cause temporary hair thinning but Androgenetic alopecia does not care about any of that. Just like shingles, alopecia doesn't care.
Great info. As a hairstylist, I always recommend Horsetail to my clients who are thinning. I also recommend a dandruff shampoo as it clears the pores/follicles which will also help - this is good for men and women. Our heads are hot and can be oily or the shampoo you use can have oils and waxes which will be exfoliated with dandruff shampooor clarifying shampoo (this will remove some of your dye if you hair color though)
@@diyaciwan8291 Horsetail is rich in silica, our bodies need it, but mainstream doesnt even list it as essential. Combined with vitamin C our bodies need it to form collagen, without silica the collagen is not flexible or abundant.
I’ve been diagnosed with alopecia by several doctors and it runs in my family. My nutrition has been poor for several years (which I’m working on changing that and making progress) and I’m sure this has contributed to even more hair loss. It’s gotten to where I’m getting self conscious because I’ve lost so much and it’s very noticeable. A dermatologist suggested that I have my own red blood cells injected into my scalp, which costs a lot of money and it’s not proven to re-grow hair. It’s crazy!
The "only"way I can see this being done, is by going into the human genome of a person, and detecting this faulty genes before hair loss happens, and then, you'd have no male pattern baldness. What causes baldness in men, is that for some reason the hair follicle dies, from instructions, from these faulty genes. What they do in hair transplants is cut out "healthy living follicles" with hair still in them, and their usually taken from the neck area, or lower hairline, and a new hold is punctured in the scalp, and this new hair follicle is transplanted there, and Voila, you then have hair growth from this "living hair follicle." It's the only way.
I had scarring alopecia and was losing my hair in patches very fast. Dr. Couldn't do anything except steroid shots. I decided to not take them. I went on a two month diet eating absolutely nothing processed and only drinking water. my alopecia stopped. Didn't grow hair back but it's been over 4 years now and pretty much still have the same amount of hair. Just a suggestion
Dr. Berg, thanks for your suggestion. I shaved my back and made a nice toupee out of the back hair and put it on my head and the chicks are loving it. I cannot thank you enough.

I’ve been losing hair since my early 20s, i’ve been healthy and fit and workout everyday, i’m almost bald now and I’m depressed!, i think nothing will make it grow back unless they make a new medical marvel
When I was about 40 years old I developed a "click" in my right elbow from the repetitive motions required as a carpenter. Doing some research I decided to start taking animal gelatin twice a day. After six or eight weeks the click went away. I continued taking it and after about a year I noticed I had become hairy, for lack of a better term. When I began the gelatin I was almost hairless and thirty years later I have to take my beard trimmer to may arms because they look ape like?? You figure it out!!
Since my early twenties I feared hair loss because my dad was bald. I am 48 now and my hair line has started to recede now and the hair is thinning. I still have a full set of hair. I have also started eating my healthiest in my life and lost 20 pounds by limiting sugars and processed foods. I think its lack of physical activity that is the cause because my physical activity is currently minimal since I moved and my gym equipment is now in storage.
Keep it up! My fiancé is concerned he’ll go bald too. Or at least gray early like his dad. He’s in his 30s. While he eats simply at a T1 diabetic (meat, veggies, olive oil, cheese), I make him high quality keto meals occasionally to slip him more nutrients with my fancy pasture raised and wild caught animal foods. I think that will help most... 😇 also long walks and de-stress my dude!
My hair hasn’t been falling out, it’s more that my hair is thinning. Nutritional yeast sprinkled on popcorn or used as a substitute for Parmesan cheese over spaghetti is excellent!
be careful of Nutritional yeast fortified with B12. NOT GOOD. These videos are so annoying sometimes. Preaches a product then another video comes along that warns you not to eat. B12 as cyanocobalamin is poisonous (doesn't exist in nutritional yeast, and this synthetic form breaks down into cyanide.
Dr. Berg has a new video about the connection of Vitamin D to hair loss. There are more causes for hair loss than what he discusses here… for me, it was completely due to my severe Vitamin D deficiency. Judging by the widespread amount of people with this issue, I would bet there are many people who have lost hair because of their deficiency of Vitamin D!
Turmeric is also good for hair loss. I was taking nettle root for hair loss but switched to turmeric because it has more health benefits and it works about the same for preventing hair loss as the nettle.
Also, you mentioned in this video that using collagen and biotin shampoos don't help because these don't absorb into your scalp, but your website sells a "serum"to put on your head that says it will do JUST THAT: "Massaging in this phytonutrient-rich oil helps stimulate your scalp and clear out dirt and dead skin cells that may be clogging up your hair follicles." "You want to replenish your scalp and hair follicles with vitamins and minerals" So which is it??

Having seen Dr Berg's videos on those subjects I am sure the root cause for all of these issues is a gut deficiency that could be treated with improved diet. Yet doctors here all seem to ignore the nutritional aspects. Frustrating! Thanks Dr B👍🏼

And #3, it's a GENETIC issue. You can't get around that one no matter what you do.
Why ?
Your natural Testosterone being converted to DHT which "Poisons" your hair follicles is what causes Male Pattern Baldness period. Take Finasteride 1 mg daily to stop 70% conversion. Take this for 3 to 6 months, go thru your first shed. These hair were going to fall out anyway. They are making way for new healthy hairs. Dermapen your head once a week and use Stemoxydine the day after. You keep the hair you regrow even if you stop using the Stemoxydine unlike Minoxidil where your hair falls out if you stop using it.

@@leslauner5062 I sympathize brother
To all those saying the natural remedies don’t work, I will testify that I know of one that does, because it worked for me. I had experienced thinning hair due to menopause. I started taking biotin and folic acid daily and the hair loss stopped. I then started taking Super Saw Palmetto Extract and after 2 months I started seeing very noticeable new hair growth. Not only was I seeing new hair, it was brown and not gray.
Lynn Harrell what amounts of each do you take? Thanks!
@@lynnharrell9598 thank you very much for shering your experience.
Not with an attitude like that you wont. Check out Bruce Lipton for theory on genetics.

Have you heard if bad bacteria a d viruses that would do these?
And if so wouldn't we need more nutrients and vitamin?
Good sources of trace minerals are sea vegetables like nori, wakame (wah-kah-may), hijiki, kombu and arame (ahh-rah-may)

It’s crazy!
The "only"way I can see this being done, is by going into the human genome
of a person, and detecting this faulty genes before hair loss happens, and
then, you'd have no male pattern baldness.
What causes baldness in men, is that for some reason the hair follicle dies,
from instructions, from these faulty genes. What they do in hair transplants
is cut out "healthy living follicles" with hair still in them, and their usually
taken from the neck area, or lower hairline, and a new hold is punctured in
the scalp, and this new hair follicle is transplanted there, and Voila, you then
have hair growth from this "living hair follicle." It's the only way.
