It's very difficult to determine which US states are the most racist (and least racist), as most racist people aren't going to admit that they have hateful or discriminatory views. So a study analyzed anonymous social media listening data from twitter activity and google searches to see just how racist the people of each state are!
Of course, a majority of people in the following states aren't racist, and a lot racism comes from ignorance as many of these places are also the Whitest States! Some of them are also home to some of the best cities and small towns live in, in addition to beautiful nature though, so my biggest suggestion is to visit these states first to decide where you want to move to and live.

Because come to find out we have a variety of different ethnicities, with percentages of things they don't like. I was happy to share the information with them. I subscribe to just about everything, that was said here about Milwaukee, Wi and especially Brookfield. I am German and my company relocated me to WI, where I found a house in Brookfield, not knowing what I was getting myself into. Not only are they all racist to the max against people of color, they are racist against everything, that is not Wisconsinite. My neighbor came over on the day I moved in and greeted me with the phrase: "Just so that you know: We dont like foreigners around here and we stick to ourselves". I tried all I could to be nice to everybody, yet after 10 years they still treated me like vermin... I was so relieved when I could finally move away from there to another country

Yeah, I live a half hour NW of Appleton. It is fair to say Wisconsin is a very segregated state, although not necessarily that it was forced to be that way (although around Milwaukee, it sort of was engineered by underhanded means through various zoning tricks and Jim Crow laws), but even in other areas the various races aren't very well integrated.
I'd say Oshkosh, Appleton, and Green Bay are the friendlier areas of the state.

Man I'm a white man who grew up in foster care. I was adopted at 5 years old by a black family. I had 3 brothers and 1 sister. I was the only child that was adopted. I grew up in Memphis TN. And when I joined the Army the white guys thought I was a "wannabe". The black soldiers and a few white were really cool. I've seen many sides of racism. But as a child it never crossed my mind till I was about 7 weeks went somewhere near Chatawa Mississippi and some white lady called the sheriff cause they thought I had been kidnapped by a black family. That was my introduction to racism. Questioned my mom and dad and me by myself for what seemed like forever. We never went further than Sardis after that. Mane I hate racism smh

@@mikevanriel7573 Since its founding in 1829, the Democratic Party has fought against every major civil rights initiative, and has a long history of discrimination.
The Democratic Party defended slavery, started the Civil War, opposed Reconstruction, founded the Ku Klux Klan, imposed segregation, perpetrated lynchings, and fought against the civil rights acts of the 1950s and 1960s.
In contrast, the Republican Party was founded in 1854 as an anti-slavery party. Its mission was to stop the spread of slavery into the new western territories with the aim of abolishing it entirely. This effort, however, was dealt a major blow by the Supreme Court. In the 1857 case Dred Scott v. Sandford, the court ruled that slaves aren’t citizens; they’re property. The seven justices who voted in favor of slavery? All Democrats. The two justices who dissented? Both Republicans.

My mother in law has told the story of how my brother in law reacted at 6 years old to seeing his first black person. It was his first day of school and he came home very excited. He said,"Mama, you are never going to believe what they have at school!! They have chocolate people!! I made a friend and he's chocolate!" To this day, my brother in law and his "chocolate friend " from 1st grade are best friends...they are in their 60s!!.
I grew up in northern Virginia, just outside Washington. My dad was a federal employee. By the time I started school, they were integrated. It never occurred to me to think any different about my friends of color. I guess it depends on the environment you are raised in. My parents didn't use the n word..ever and would have knocked our teeth out if any of us kids ever said it. My husband and I raised our kids to respect everyone and speak up when they see INJUSTICE of any kind. Racism is a learned behavior...as such, it can be unlearned.

From my experience living in the US for 12 years (I also lived in UK, China, UAE, Japan)
Education has nothing to do with being racist or not, especially in the US.
Highly educated people with things to lose usually do not say racist things because they have things to lose, and also have the ability of self restraint, even if they are really racist. Less educated people are usually dumb, have nothing to lose and have no discipline, thus they will say and act as racists. That is all.

You can not be raised not to be racist. Racism is a system of advantages and privileges that support the preferred race or group while disadvantaging and sabotaging the targeted group or race. You may not feel a way about the targeted group, but your white privileges and advantages still work for you.
For example, you and I can apply for the same loan at the same bank; and even though I may earn more than you, have a better credit score than you and qualify for better rates than you, I'm likely to get an over-priced, less than I requested loan, or be denied outright; while you shake hands with the loan officer who has agreed to take a chance on you for more than you requested, and at the lowest rate possible. That's just one example, but my point is that you can't turn off racism. It has to be dismantled out of society in order for you to not be racist. You may be a passive racist who doesn't behave unseemingly as active racist; but all white people benefit from racism in America just by being white and present in America.

I never gave skin-color a second thought because of how my parents and their friends - who came from all over the world - were. One day, though, I was trying to get away with not eating the yolk of the fried egg that Mary Truth had made for my breakfast when mom walked in, heard Mary Truth telling me that I needed to finish my breakfast, watched me ignoring her, and then chastised me saying "Just because she's brown doesn't mean you don't have to listen to her. Do as your told."
Inside my little head I heard "Just because she's brown???? What would that have to do with anything? I just hate yolk." It was summertime and I was almost as brown as Mary Truth was... I did as I was told and ate the damn yolk but it would be decades before I 'understood' what had gone on there.

Yes, we all have our identity and we should be proud of the way God made us. We should challenge racism, homophobia, xenophobia and any attitude that is inhibiting the lives of others. A big part of the reason Mississippi hasn't elected a PoC for a long time is that minorities are more likely to receive harsher sentences for the same crime. The state has a "no felons voting" law. So between that and a racist police force, a higher percentage of minorities can't vote.
Recently in Kansas a black kid was arrested because he brought a knife to defend himself against bullies. The school knew he was being bullied because of his race and did nothing. It wasn't until the kid was ready to fight back did the school act. That's how it is with racists.

Some of them their mouth even goes off when a Hawaii resident tell them put on your mask (when indoors). That was also on Hawaii local news . Hawaii is just one place white people are getting treated very poorly. Asian Americans are getting treated poorly all over the mainland. You should’ve seen when a white family beaten up a Filipino kid at the grocery store on Maui because the kid asked them to put on their mask. Wow, pretty interesting to see that this wasn't just a list of Southeastern US states. Goes to show that for all the flack that the SE catches, most of us have come to terms with a certain level of racial diversity. Most of these states are 20 - 30% African-American, meaning most of us who are white in the SE interact with them on a daily basis from the time we're born. There might be more casual racism down here since we all run into each other every day, but that deep seated hatred and almost fear really isn't something we see much of.

Fortunately for me, I was never raised to be racist, however I learned to be based on the things I see and situations I've found myself to be in with certain races. Although I can usually tell when someone doesn't fit in my learned stereotype and give them a chance

I never in my life understood people treating one another differently because of skin, eyes or hair color. Racism is broad. Even people of your own race can be racist towards one another. It doesn't matter if your Black, White, Hispanic, Indian or Asian. We all have to check and evaluate how we treat others. Period!!!!

That's highly understandable because at the end of the day, it's really balls down to the character of the individual. Some people are just a natural narcissist and will do anything in their power, to knock others down; just so they can exalt themselves. But what they don't realize is that they are only hurting themselves because their living in an imaginary world and are having a difficult time facing reality or adapting to their environment and others. Another part of that is self hate or self pride.

As a black northerner that moved to GA 20 yrs ago. I can say you are spot on. It is far less racist in the south vs north except Mississippi. Segregation may have started in the south but it ended in the north and still exists there.

It's not technically that. It's the fact that Southerners are raised to be polite and hospitable. There's 2 types of racism in the south,
      1. The overt racism
      2. The hidden racism

The Black people who moved to Virginia from Maryland probably weren't around a lot of White people or didn't feel any racist tension from them. I'm a Black American living in Baltimore, Maryland and I've received racism from foreigners (Pakistanis, Indians, Chinese, Hondurans, Mexicans) and I find it disgusting. Some of the White people in Baltimore are racist but I haven't experienced much from them, it's more from the foreigners. When you go out of Baltimore into other counties in Maryland, there you will see confederate flags and little statues that symbolize "N*gger go away" or "N*gger you are Welcome". 😐

I worked in Oklahoma City back in 1971. I came from Los Angeles to live near relatives. I had waist long hair but kept it pulled back. I went to work in a one girl office for a construction company. I helped out a black employee's mother by giving her a ride home after she missed her bus. My redneck boss found out and fired me. I was shocked and extremely sad because he not only fired me but also the black employee. I never wanted anything to do with that state again.
