    It's rare, I think, to be as brilliant in live performance as on the written page -- but that's my experience of author Ava Chin's storytelling in both mediums. Even if you've not read "Mott Street," I think others will likewise enjoy this lively, fascinating, and entertaining tale of Chin's growing up as a fifth-generation Chinese-American New Yorker who, in her quest for a permanently absent father, discovered a wider network of rich family roots among which she ultimately found herself. Delivered with lessons for us all -- gung-gung, gung-gung, gung-gung...
