Alan Wake DLC : what happened in The Signal & The Writer

- On the 1 year anniversary of my first video i decided to go back to the first game I covered, Alan Wake. But this time I decided to play the DLC chapters.
And with Remedy showing new footage of Alan Wake 2 from Gamescom as well as Sam Lake giving more information, I couldn't be more excited.
And if anyone is actually reading this that's watch any of my videos, thank you from the bottom of my heart for watching.

Hello, Dad Quest Gaming. Thank you for reviewing the DLCs from Alan Wake, The Signal & The Writer. I am currently in the game's final chapter and contemplating playing the DLCs. I wondered if I was missing critical information only required by playing the DLCs. In addition, I find it very sad that Alan Wake is trapped in the underworld as he saves his beloved wife from the horror and trauma she had to endure throughout the game.
Hello my friend, thanks for watching and commenting. I don't think it's completely necessary to play the dlc but I do think that playing it or watching videos like this will really help you enjoy Alan Wake 2 more.
You're right about it being sad that Alan is trapped in the dark place, especially as he doesn't seem to be able to find a way to write himself out even though he's an author.
Hello, and from your video it was clear as day the DLCs were unnecessary to play. The only valuable information from the DLC was the last scene from The Writer, where Alan Wake states how he could save himself from the nightmare. He mentions the story he must write to free himself from this severe nightmare, called "The Return." The DLC foreshadows and hints at Alan Wake 2. Hopefully, when Alan Wake 2, he can relieve himself from this trauma. The storyline is filled with so many theories and riddles, it almost seems as if Alan Wake allows himself to stay trapped. @@dadquest1982
