I have the new imac and an ipad. So i bring my ipad to class but use my imac for all my essays and stuff.
I’m considering trading my MacBook for the iMac, and bring my iPad with keyboard to university. Do you enjoy the experience? :)
@@Amanda-po9xe it’s such a luxury! It’s so easy and I honestly prefer taking notes on my iPad and it does everything I need it to do. And when I’m home, I have the luxury of this huge screen. And I use google docs for everything so there’s never an issue with transferring my work. Would highly recommend
@@stephaniemorgan5522 Great to hear ! When you take notes on the ipad , do you use a keyboard or the pencil?
I’ve been using my iPad Air 4 more than my laptop since I bought it back in July. I use the iPad for notes and watching shows, and with the multitasking features, I don’t really need to use the laptop to look at presentations whilst taking notes. I’m already planning on buying the magic keyboard for my iPad in white to make my blue iPad color pop and because it’s my go to for a lot of things besides my phone. As I’m a Communication Design major (think Graphic Design and studio arts), I’m looking into buying the yellow 24” 2021 M1 iMac with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. I’ve been using flash drives since high school, but I’m going to invest in a bulky hard drive and transfer all my files so everything is in one place and won’t misplace it. I’ve misplaced my flash drives on several occasions lol. I don’t want to invest in a laptop that’ll just take up my already limited space of my small desk which is why I’m going for an iMac in the future. Sorry for the long comment. Ciao!
Omg sammeee I want to major in graphic design I’m senior in high school, and I was also thinking exactly the same to do with my iPad and phone and looking to get the iMac, is there anything else you recommend in this field I really want to know more.
I’m a college student with an iMac who is upgrading to the 2021 model
@Late Night Venom thanks, it took great courage to announce this
Nice! Let me know how you like it
nobody cares
same but I don't know if I should get the base model or more
@@filtheboss6003 don’t get the base model*
Are we sure that Center stage is a feature on the new iMac? From my understanding it is only in the new IPad Pro.. I hope I’m wrong though because I just ordered the Pink one and that would be a nice bonus feature
I have a m1 IMac and I got to admit that that ancient 30inch apple Cinema Display you have just dazzles more and has a mat finish instead of a gloss reflective finish.
Student here, I have a 27” iMac as my main machine and am debating 2021 version. I use 12.9” iPad Pro on the go
Awesome! Do you live in a dorm or something else? And what kind of work do you do on the iMac?
@@HarrisCraycraft I live in a house so space isn't an issue the way it would be in a dorm. Currently I use my iMac for everything except taking notes (Nothing beats annotating pdfs, books, or ppts on iPad Pro) But the iMac is great for everything else. It's very powerful, so all my apps run smoothly (ArcGIS pro, etc), I also do some light photo and video editing. I think it comes down to personal preference. I am much more productive with at a proper desk set up. A laptop makes it too easy to take my work to couch or bed. I had a MacBook Pro that I had connected to a monitor, but I like the proper desktop experience so much better.
@Michael Barber The size difference isn't an issue for me. But I do want to see in person before upgrading because my current iMac is 5K with nano-texture glass. On paper, the 2021 model would be a resolution downgrade, so I am hesitant.
I’m getting the silver one today! Periodt!
Ordered a pink one this morning! Trading in my MacBook Pro until the iMac Pros come out. Really want a nice desktop since all of my classes are online anyway.
I really really wish I could give this guy a hug 🥰.
Great points Harris!
Thanks, Michael!
gonna buy it and use it for my 3 years school life.
I used 2 mbp and one pc laptops in last few years and really getting tired with small monitors. Wanted to buy a 4k monitor but they are quite expensive. So with all those considerations, I thought m1 imac could be a good option.
the price is reasonable as it contains beautiful monitor and nice chip. I am not a apple fan, to be honest, I dislike apple but this imac is a nice product with reasonable price 😄
Hope everyone safe😄
A friend of mine went through law school with an old MacBook Air from 2014. If you do mostly reports and documents any computer released today can fulfill your needs.
Agreed! For most tasks, all modern computers handle them well
Yes I believe that they should have one
was debating between an ipad pro or the imac but i bit the bullet and went for the imac since i dont have a desktop and need one when i go back to school in the fall. got the purple! :D
#TeamPurple 💜🖥🙌🏽
How is it? I'm entering year 11 so do you think I should get the ipad and apple pencil to do papers and write notes. Can also connect it to an external display
@@josh4625 I actually got my I pad pro and Apple Pencil during 11 grade and to be completely an I pad is really fun if your into art, and being versatile with your work, tbh I didn’t really used it for school work that much other than some occasions, writing essays and doing research I did in my school computer, youll get used to a simplified lifestyle and you won’t be able to go back once you get used to one..
I’m getting the purple one with 16gb of ram and 512gb of storage because I want it to last me through the rest of high school and a little bit into college
edit- after getting the m1 macbook air i really don’t use that much storage so i think i’m gonna get the m1 imac with 16gb of memory and 256gb of storage
Also getting the Purple one, but with 16gb and 2tb
I got the silver iMac, so I can customise it with coloured decals. Now I feel boring because of my colour choice 😭
I also got the silver one, might look boring compared to other colours but I love the timeless and sleek look!
That’s aluminum silver for you. Boring but never get tired too. 😁
Oh no 😭 but I’ve just clicked the check out button 😭 I hope that I won’t feel bored
I thought center stage was only in the new iPad Pros? Would have made sense for the iMac though🤷🏽♂️ #TeamPurple💜
Are you gonna get one ? Or try it ?
Great videos 👍🏻
Yup I order a blue one!
Do you know if this iMac can play Age of Empires 2?
No idea. If that’s an App Store game it should list the supported devices
Kinda not what most people use it for but I want one to play mine craft and blog.
It's not big enough. Don't buy it
@@RUclipsrr285 not big enough for what?
Second that's not a bot
It’s good for online classes
A 1080p monitor with a cheap keyboard and mouse and a Mac mini and an iPad air with apple pencil is a very good choice. If you don't have enough money you can use my suggestion and start a side hustle or a business i.e. making money and then you can afford it without convincing your parents like if you like this comment.
Colours is pure innovation only Tim can cook up.
Nice pun
you're missing the m1 but ok
M1 hardware and colors, but he has brought more that. Imagine if the MacBook Airs got them, although if they got more vibrant colors, they would be great.
Some tech reviewers (not you) never actually being outside and see the real scenario.
Only students from rich family can afford any Macs.
No you buy the computer that is going to work with what you are doing. More jobs that use computers like automotive use Windows. A lot medical use Windows.
most of them don't have them because they can't afford it
No
yes they are a lot of students with iMac are you kidding me lol this kid
To be completely honest, some students will buy things like expensive iMacs and then complain that college life is too expensive.
If you’re going to buy expensive technology don’t complain about being broke.
I think this iMac is a bit too expensive for students.
Fair, but also the difference between two computers (say $999 vs $1299) is relatively minuscule compared to tuition and board which can be tens of thousands of dollars.
@@HarrisCraycraft Yeah, but I suppose the problem with the iMac is that it’s not portable which is usually quite useful to students.
@Michael Barber depends. I wouldn’t recommend iPad to computer science students.
Sometimes being broke is worth owning the proper tools to get through college.
first?
indeed first
