So many helpful tips and easy to understand. Thank you so much. I was so disappointed to discover how low the storage capacity is out of the box but I now know how to pick add-ons to increase capacity at a reasonable cost. I am 86 years old and appreciate that you are able to review and deliver tips that even a non-tech like myself can understand and follow.
Yeah just make sure you get an external SSD when you're ready to expand storage.

Just for anyone considering getting a "small" iMac 2021 with little storage, 256 or whatever and using a hard drive for extra storage: your data transfer will only ever be as slow as your hard drive. If you need the speed of the M1 chip, which is mind-blowing in my opinion, then better opt for the bigger storage.
I’m thinking about buying one for doing school work, I will be starting school on sept, but I’m planning on being in school for 4+ years plus I also have my own business which i will be doing most of the stuff from my iMac too. do you think I can buy the 256 or should I just pay the extra money for 500gb or even 1tb

A ton of interesting stuff here. Nice. But does the short cable on that dock not drive you nuts? I'm looking for a dock that has about the same array of ports but a cable that reaches the desk! Any ideas? All I can find is the swanky Caldigit and OWC ones. They're super nice, but overkill for my needs.

Excellent video! Can I just ask what the length of the power cable is for the iMac, I know apple said 2 metres, but is that 2 metres to the power adapter or is it longer than that? Thanks

Can you make a video how we can extend our storage with external ssd? I have the 256GB but have a ton of videos, pictures and music that will not fit unless I have them on external ssd. Can I access the ssd to see my pictures, videos and music just by clicking the shortcuts installed?

Can’t wait for my blue iMac (16Gb RAM 8/8 core) to arrive next month for my 71st birthday. My old one has done a decade worth of great service - I also remember buying the very first Mac with floppy discs (oh dear ! You had to work that hard - one disc in for system and application, eject, another disc in to save, eject 😂 and so it went one. ‘Good old days ‘ - no, no , no 😱)
Younger than you … but not young! As a granny, can def relate to your comment. Waiting on silver 16 GB 8/8). I recall our office admins typing our memos and using 12 inch floppies!!! Can also recall the old green and white stripe paper with the perforated holes on the side 👩🏾🦳

I bought my first Mac in 1986. I wish I spent as much on Apple stock then as I spent on that computer. We use to call that disk swapping process toasting. My new blue iMac is due this week....!!

if i log into the apple id i use on my phone, will it mess with the storage? i have 5 gb on my phone and im looking to make some of the pictures on there my wallpaper. if i link it will it only give my imac 5gb rather than 246gb or will it just use some storage for my pics and videos ?

Migration assistant wouldn’t work for me so I just used I cloud and flash drive

Just curious they come with charging cable right to charge the keyboard and mouse or touchpad right as usual ? The last iMac i bought I seem remember they got put one charging cable to charge your wireless keyboard / mouse but i choose touchpad. Actually my present iMac wireless touch pad sucks i used back the old iMac touch pad and keyboard which insert AA battery. I feel the old keyboard and touch pad with AA battery irony seem better than the latest one.
I just ordered this one! So excited to get it. My first iMac and also my first apple laptop since 2012 . My laptop from 2012 doesn’t work anymore and can’t update anymore so decided to upgrade
Same here I’m having to upgrade my 15 inch MacBook Air because its from 2011 so that makes it really old and obsolete. Surprisingly the computer still works, the Apple employees were surprised it was still working when I brought it in to attempt to fix the camera and mic.
@@jessicamena3320 yeah mine doesn’t update anymore the software. It comes up but when I update it freezes and stops so I have to press those buttons or just turn it off. I’m excited to get it. It says it’s coming the 29th of this month
I know the 27 inch IMacs you upgrade the RAM but can you upgrade the ram on iMac 24 (2021) as well? Maybe 16GB max

So I got an older Mac and the highest OS that I can download is 10.13.6, many apps say that I can’t install them because I need a higher OS. Does this mean there any app that’s been updated since mid 2018 I can’t install?

I so want an Imac. This is lit.
I need a hub with a SD port so I found one on Amazon from TWOPAN with 2 SD ports, 2 USB-3, 1 USB-2, and a lightening port. What is so neat about it is it attaches to the bottom of the monitor and uses 1 of my 4 ports on the back. Even neater it has faceplates in every color the iMac comes in so it looks like it was made for the iMac.

Hey I would like to ask you how are you finding the heating on this imac? As this model only has one fan, can you tell us if you noticed any over heating or slowing down ? Thank you
I have that model and if I run a game like sims it gets a little hot and you can hear the fan.

What about Touch ID for another fidee? 👀. I was thinking the same but it’s annoying how all these things add up. I think I’m looking at £300 over base price minimum 😐
@@RemofRenaissance Touch ID is nice to have, but how often do you use It? Is it worth and extra £200 to you, or can you input your password. To me no. I'd rather save a few hundred and put it towards 16GB RAM.
@@ASuwan22 I actually use it a lot. Mainly for paying for things I have 2 kids so plenty of things to pay for lol. If I decide to go without then it would be me thinking just pay for stuff on my phone / other devices. I’m still putting a business case together for getting any kind of iMac lol so will see what choice I make. With the pandemic it’s unlikely I will use my laptop in the same way and I have an iPad so could be I sell my 2017 MacBook Pro (15 inch) and get a desktop. Rarely has that machine left my house in any case!

Can you also use an external harddrive on a usb C to usb A adapter?
You can put external ssd above power cable(put velcro tape on the inner side of stand), and it will be hidden, so It will not ruin aestetics that much... :D
