Blues obedience is the dream. Very hard with my 2 Yr old sprocker 🙈🤣 some of the training to get these dogs to that level is brutal though. Hopefully the more lenient approach works eventually 👍
Your videos bring back so many memories for me in my teens and early to late 20's. I now live in Canada, I have done since I retired after a 25 year British Army career. Canada has some wonderful areas, the Rockies, Banf And all over BC but absolutely nothing compares to the Lake district, The Dales and Yorkshire Moores, the days with me and dad and our two dogs, Juno, a Great Dane and Smudge a Black Lab we spent so many days and nights like you do now. Truth is your vids bring a tear to my eye, we have pitched tents in that very spot you are in in this vid...thank you so much and keep doing what you do so well...Enjoy the beers, cheers.
So lovely to hear an expat who has served our country with memories of a happy youth in the Lake District. Thank you for your service to our beloved Queen and country. It’s a sad week, tonight we watched our Queen come back home from Scotland to Buckingham palace where she lies in state with her family watching over her. Our hearts broken. An historic and momentous time to live through, we have a new monarch…a King ! Such a strange thing. “God Bless The King!” We miss our devoted Queen.

That opening scene with blue and the sheep was beautiful. The sheep was considering butting then realised she didn’t need to and gave a tentative greeting. Blue was like i don’t want to stand but i have to. Then was a lovely meeting between to species. I cant believe I’m commenting only after 15 seconds!
Blue is amazing! He's very well trained, and I love how he moved the sheep along, but they weren't scared of him in the slightest :) Beautiful views too, thanks for the great video.
Blue is the most amazing dog! Such a gentle face with an equally gentle demeanour. What a companion! Great vid as well. Shame about the cloud, but hey, that’s part of the fun, not knowing what to expect and dealing with it. Look forward to the next one.

I just love your enthusiasm! It’s infectious. Because of your great videos I’ve been watching over the last few weeks since I’ve discovered your YT, my hubby and I are now planning to do many walks in the mountains whilst holidaying in Melbourne next month where it’s a lot cooler to hike than from tropical 🦘🇦🇺 where we live. I also feel confident what to carry in my backpack as your videos are so educational.
Hi Al. Great vid again. The air up there must be absolutely incredible. So clear and fresh. Another wonderful experience for you and Blue. Had to laugh at the sheep at the start that Blue was trying to herd. They had blue paint on their backs! Honestly, he’s got such an amazing life. Can’t think of a better life for a collie as a working dog and a breed that needs endless exercise than to go on endless treks through the mountains and hills of the Lake District/Cumbria/Yorkshire moors etc. Cheers mate. Top man Al great adventure and advice. Bought back memories of most embarrassing mountain moment for me. Out with a group we all thought someone else was navigating down Bow fell to busy chatting. We ended up going down the wrong side of the mountain in the dark. One of the lads ran in front to the road hitched back to car, 2 hours later picked us all up managed last orders at old dungeon and ghyll . Happy days I got the blame and had to by the beer. Thank you for sharing this experience. I moved to Cumbria a couple of years where's my young border collie. My dream was to walk the fells together with her. She was from a working family with strong herding instincts that I couldn't overcome. Recently, I rehomed her to a family with access to fields and sheep so she will be happy. Watching Blue enables me to enjoy what might have been....🙂
It’s instinct which most have. They can be tough to train at times. I started with Blue as a pup and he came on well. If you can’t stop them chasing then they are hard work. You’ll have to walk the fells alone. I’m sure you’ll still love that👌

Don't know if you have the same phrase in your part of the world, but here we say "You've got to have a sense of humor in a place like this". And we can see that you do! When things would get challenging for my husband and me, the line we used was "Are we having fun yet?". Just saying that would make us laugh. I second you on the idea of tea. Seriously, how do people get through life without tea? Loved the video, especially the haze/fog dancing through the valley almost like it was choreographed for the music you used. Beautiful.
Yes tea is the drink! I drink loads of tea and the occasional latte. I have a mug heater on the desk so a hot beverage for the whole video🤑Must try it on the mountains as well!
Hi allen hope your hand is healing well I did a study of the wild lake are I went as far back as 9,000 yrs this history behind the mountain is intense you recall( doggerland) as history has all but forgotten this place and events that shaped it you know I love the video I look for goodies in the drone shots and walk and push to camps.... oh Hi blue .😍
This wild weather is brilliant, especially so if you have decent kit. There's nothing nicer than being cuddled up cozy inside with a full belly and good company with the wind and rain pounding outside.
I blimmin love camping anyway, but watching you out on a camp always makes me want to get out again as soon as possible 👍 Those "I'll just lie down for a sec now that I've pitched the tent" naps are the BEST!

He’s a pretty good sheep dog and keen to work. Handy when I need to help a farmer.

When I’ve gone out with my dogs 🐕 I’ve always slept in same area they keep you warm and you keep them warm 😀
