For context, Max's gap to P2- LEC (0.820) was more than P2 s gap to P8-RUS (0.815).
Jeez😂 that's just nuts
Yes he was great but for context here are the gaps between top drivers and their teammates:
Verstappen - Perez: -0.877
Hamilton - Russell: -0.718
Alonso - Stroll: -0.998
I think it is fair to say that the most incredible gap is between Hamilton and Russell considering that Russell is way better than Perez or Stroll. I truly believe that in the same car Hamilton / Verstappen / Alonso would be within 1 tenth.
@@Kimke6991 fair point, but I think the difference between RUS and HAM was also down to the wing setups.
@@NERGYStudiosRussell was also overtaken by Checo at the start of the lap which slowed him down
@@Kimke6991 Keep in mind, for context, wing setup was different between the Mercs and Russell didn't have a good start into the lap.
Max has become a monster and I'm afraid this is not even his final form
Tbf he’s in the prime age of an Athlete and I don’t see him getting better than this
@@NovaDaGoat prime age runs through 32-36 years of age..thats another 10 or more years of max winning everything. i hope he does it.
@@kikoredog I hope not, otherwise F1 will lose half of its followers over those years. 32-36 is not prime age in basically any sports. By the time you are 30 you have most definitely hit prime generally speaking.
@@kikoredog max might no be in f1 at 33-36 he says he wants to compete in other categories and after he won a title he said he completed his goal on life
He is like Cell from Dragonball. There is always a next and bigger transformation. :D
8 tenths over P2 is nuts💀
Makes me wonder what is the biggest gap between P1 and P2 in qualifying ever?
Almost 9 tenths over his teammate
@@MultiSuryansh1 second or maybe a bit more
@@StuOnly I went on Reddit, apparently they were doing 10seconds faster in mid 1900s 💀
While the Ferraris and Mercedes had higher top speeds. It just shows that picking the right line and breaking and accelerating at the right time makes a lot of difference.
the fact he was going almost as flat out as possible through every wet patch is mental
Meanwhile, in the post-qualy conference: "It's not really about driving on the limit, it's about finding your margins." Bro thought his Q3 lap was conservative
@@Evarakeus lmao i think it;s because the cars aren't as fast as the 2020 merc sadly
@@user-gq2xo4oj7p Of course, the cars aren't as light as 2020 either.
@@Evarakeus am i surprised? not really, he is driving a Rocketship that suits pretty much every aspect of this track.
The car simply can do this crazy stuff...he is confident because of the 4-wheel monster he is driving. Do not make him a god while he is just a good driver
I think this Leclerc and Perez start could be one of the most interesting battles of the season, that is, until Max catches up to them
Wouldn't it be interesting to see them 3 wide down the straight in lap 1 with Max coming out on top. 😅
Fudge me, Verstappen overtaking five cars before turn 1?
@@LogiForce86 Sadly it's a very realistic possibility lol
Max overtook 4 before the first corner last year. If Stroll hadnt rejoined from the gravel right in front of him he'd be P8 by corner 5.
I give it 3 laps.
It's not the race line, it's not even the car, it's the braking and lifting on corner entries that makes MV phenomenal.
braking
its the car checo is just bad its always been a car specially its f1
It is mostly the car. Perez is a very average driver, actually in the bottom half of the list if you think about it. Still max is probably the fastest driver at the moment and possibly the most skilled one. Hard to tell with such gap between cars tho.
@@danielegarja "average driver"? he does a lot of complex overtakings and you label him as an average driver? c'mon.
@@danielegarjai bet you didn't see him at the racing point
Incredible analysis and demonstration of Max's dominance on the track. Thank you so much for sharing this analysis, your time, and your efforts to produce it. Much appreciated.
I love how he took an outside line at 0:48 and got advantage of the dry patch that was over there (you can see this in his onboard lap). Also the longer corner approach allowed him to carry more speed in this part of the track.
Something about Max's drive feel so smooth, like at 0:37-0:44 it's really look like he purposely take the first 2 corners slow to set up for the better exit at the last big corner
IMO the places he gained was in two slow corners. 1 that leads to the straight and at 0:53 after the section you mention that leads two flat out left handers.
Also hate those corners in sim. 😂
@@christopherlozada6411 yeah i'm also notice that corner. He gain alot there. I was pausing the video when commenting this so i hadn't watched it yet xD
Watch Peter Windsors video on short corners and you’ll start to really understand how Max drives, and why it looks so smooth. He really doesn’t put much emphasis on late braking and early power like some other drivers.
It looks like the other cars are limiting his speed, the strange thing is that Perez is not closing in on Verstappen.
Maybe a mid downforce setup on Checo’s RB and the Ferrari. Will help if it’s a rainy raceday.
@@danialadam. If that was true then both perez and the ferraris should have been faster than verstappen in the middle sector
@@srivatsansenthilkumar9582 You can see it in some corners that PER is way faster, but loses out on the straight to LEC and Max = more rear wing...... Also Max goes on throttle earlier, different style.
Its not strange. After all these seasons its pretty clear he is miles better than Perez.
@@Eric-rf1is Nope that's bs unfortunately, you could see Checo keeping up and even closing in a tiny bit on Max on the kemmel straight.
Max and Checo both run similar downforce setups. Leclerc's Ferrari is the car running the least downforce of the 3.
What is interresting and you've raised the question, it seems checo's biggest loss of time is that he always priorities some kind of "geometrical" racing line, keeping the minimum speed up, but meaning that he can stamp on the accelerator much later than verstappen who goes deep, rotate and then puts the foot down.
In that sense it seems that Checo is not using the ERS to it's full potential and runs more geometric lines that lose him out to verstappen on exits.
The grip in mid speed corner is insane. Making rest of the field look like F2 cars indeed
The man has a 5 place grid drop and still looked like he wasn’t even trying
i agree i wish we had other teams close to them but its not going to happen. adrian newey built a monster
@@James-gr5mx And got someone good enough to drive it
@@James-gr5mxin not just the car it's max, look at Perez he has the exact same car and isnt even close to max
@@robbiemarshall1481its the car 90% for sure
@@robbiemarshall1481 Obviously it's not just the car, but using Perez as evidence to show that the car is somehow not a rocket ship is not convincing. The 2nd driver at Red Bull has always disappointed for some reason. Albon disappointed. Gasly disappointed. Perez is meh. The 2nd driver has some sort of a disadvantage at Red Bull that we're not aware of.
My guess is that Newey built the car to suit Max's elite driving style, which the other drivers are not accustomed to.
It's crazy how the line is almost the same but you see Max carry more speed through the corner and gains at almost every corner exit.
Some people forget it's not just the car, Max is very talented, never makes mistakes. So far this season no DNF, podium at every GP, beating every pilot lap by lap without any effort. Agree that he was close to a penalty in spain, but doesn't matter, he still got the fastest lap then... Gotta admit that even it he didn't drive for RedBull, the talent would still be there
The great dad makes a great and bright future for his kid, nurturing and growing him to what he couldn't be in his own time.
Exactly, this 3D animation proves exactly that it isn't the car.
@@roberts.wilson1848 there's absolutely 0 nurturing in what his dad did
Confidence in a car makes a big difference. Max is also fearless. That I will give him.
It feels like he understands his car and the track better than any other one on the grid... i'm guessing he also knows how to translate what he feels to the engineers better... he usually feels a problem before it arises on the tech-team's monitors. It's mental what that guy can do in an F1 car. Judging by Perez' performance, it's not even a race winning car, Verstappen's inputs are what makes the outcome to P1.
Well, it's clearly a race-winning car; Verstappen is just absolutely maximizing the performance out of it. The last ~5% of performance or so is just something Perez can't unlock due to whatever reasons. The question to me is how much Perez is getting out of that car compared to other teams and drivers doing the same to their own cars.
@@TheAmazingCowpigso basically you’re either in denial that Max is one of the best drivers, or you’re saying Perez is a terrible driver… The race results from Sunday speak for themselves with Max finishing 20 seconds ahead of Perez whilst starting from P6, while Perez only finished 4 seconds ahead of Leclerc. I believe the Redbulls cars only slightly outperform Ferrari, Max is just able to get so much more out of the car. That’s the difference between a good driver like Perez and Leclerc, and an amazing driver like Max.
@@nielsdam90 I'm not denying that Max is one of the greatest drivers out there, it's just that any driver cannot physically out-drive the physical limits of a car's engineering. That's just... physics. The Red Bull is definitely a well-engineered car that is working incredibly well as a package.
Talented is a better word than fearless as we all know that if you loose fear than it becomes stupid dangerous.
I like how usually in these videos the camera is very close to the cars but for this one, its far away to capture all 3 cars in one frame😂 also what program do you use to import these tracks, cars and lap times into it? Very unique and fun to watch!
Loving your work 😎
RB is so happy they have Checo, else their sponsors wont get any screen time during the race.
They complained a lot, that's why Max decided on a grid penalty to please them😂
His performance next to Perez is so striking!
Glad we’re getting to witness this domination… unbelievable 🔥
Witness? He doesn't even show up in the broadcast 😂 just the start and the ending. Boring
Incredibly entertaining, watching a wall is more fun
Boring as hell.
Yes another Newey domination
With that car, the top driver from most teams could win let's be honest. Just like 2020 Mercedes.
This is great stuff!
How do u put this together > which software-data is being used?
First watch, the back and forth between Perez and Leclerc is pretty cool. Had to give it a second watch, because Max just walks away every corner from about Rivage to the end.
The speed at which max turns and his acceleration post that.
Brilliant!
Damn, that just drives home how impressive that lap was. Thanks for this!
LOVE this content. Very high quality stuff. Instant subscribe here.
History folks. You are watching a one in a million driver. Enjoy it.
Exactly!! Instead of complaining about it resulting in "boring" races, you are witnessing history right before your own eyes.
@ShawnFX oh right the irony of you all saying that
You can see how better leclerc's driving line is than checo's, yet the rb19 allows him to overpass leclerc at any corner, combine this excellent car with an excellent driver and it would be Max Verstappen
Well done! Much have been a lot of data to go through. Thanks.
What software did you use to make this animations? Could it be generated with sim racing data?
Max just doing what the GOAT is suppose to do.
Now this result is Godlike but what's even more amazing is that he did this with... basically no practice run at all. Only enough to drive the wax layer off of the new rubber on his inters. Which means he just nailed the setup out of the box without even having to adjust after tracktime.
This was on softs
@@TheGeoffreyDyck Your point being? That it's an even bigger mystery that he nailed his setup?
Not taking anything away from Max but Leclerc did his lap 7 cars ahead. Thats almost the entire q3 field, and we saw track upgraded for almost a second after one q3 field passed. So i personally belive that the gap would have been way smaller if Leclerc went after Max. But Ferrari played it safe, which probably was the right thing to do. Anybody could have gone off and made it all a lot worse.
Love these videos
How Do You Make Your Videos? Which Software Do You Use?
Love this channel, can you put, instead of the time for each driver, just have the time for the lead driver, and then the gap to the other drivers?
Verstappen has this very unique driving style. When attacking corners he wants to get straight ASAP. That is why his corners looks pointy and not so round. Newey knows this and build the car around Verstappen. This is also the reason why Checo looks like he is in whole different car.
Charles and Lewis are similar. Short corners.
Max does exactly round corners, saving his tires. checo is more the pointy guy
@@Perno007 uhm no. You are wrong. Having pointy corners makes you straight and have less tyre deg and quicker becuase you are quicker and have less tyre deg when in a straight line.
Please do not apread BS in this thread
Newey did not build the car around Max. This theory has been debunked endless times. No car is built around a driver. Cars are built to be as high-downforce, low drag, and well balanced as possible. A driver's preference only comes into play when fine-tuning/setting up the car.
Also, if driver A is getting more out of the car than driver B, the team's engineers will naturally tend to follow the advice of driver A over driver B. For example, if Max says the car is too understeery and Checo says the car is just right, but Max is still beating Sergio by 2 tenths, then obviously the engineers will listen to Max. What will then happen is adjustments will be made until Max gets it to a point where he likes it, and that might mean Checo will no longer feel that comfortable with the car. But the car WILL be faster in the hands of Max, and the gap between them will grow - both because of Max being faster and Perez being slower. This is kind of what happened last year.
Note that Checo's side of the garage are free to set up the car however he likes. However even if he sets it up exactly the way he wants, it's still going to be slower than Max, because Max's style is better suited to the vast majority of tracks (and Max is ridiculously talented as well). Which is why Perez is often conflicted on if he wants to set up the car his way or Max's way, because Max's way is theoretically faster, but he can't drive it as well as he can drive the set-up he's comfortable with (which is less oversteer prone).
@@ovidiudiumea4012 that is semi true.
The snappy steering of the Red Bull is in its design not setup.
These animations are awesome!
Well done! You made & posted this quite fast!
The only way this gets better is if you had ongoing "live" gaps to the other cars, like at 1:22, so we can see the time gap changing with the visual distance.
But this is fantastic!
👍
I give Sergio praise and defend him but in the wet nobody can compete with Max. F*cling lion of speed Max is
Agree. Checo ain't bad. Max is just something else.
Motor 👎
Bro is on a league of his own is like 2020 lewis and W11 perfectly matched together max will win every race remaining unless reliability or crashes or other factors happen
I’d love to see a comparison between these three and Piastri, both to see how close Piastri is to Max in S1 & S2, as well as see where he lost the time in S3.
Perez vs LeClerc: Actually a pretty close fight
Max: *casually trying to escape the screen*
you just gotta love those smooth lines like he's dancing on the tarmac
Max did late break of the three & still had the best exit out of turn 1
Where do you get racing tracks from? Do you extract them from games or you make them yourself?
Amazing how he actually got the difference from apex speed just like lewis on w11.
Pls why talk about 44 as we all know that Lando is closer to compete with Max
Sector 2 was 🔥. Had to zoom out to keep verstappen on the screen 😂
Thats new sidepod really make the cornering more smooth
The fact that when he went through he set three straight purples is nuts
would be nice to add 3 graphs here with the gass and break input of the drivers (with maybe 5 seconds history of those inputs) and add the gear they are in
when u have to zoom out just to keep max in the same screen lolll he s jus too good
Being first car Leclerc did really good lap
Yet people keep crying it’s the car and not Max 😂 People need to wake up and enjoy one of the best drivers in the history of Formula 1
I need to ask to see Verstappen vs Piastri as an Australian fan please. Crazy shoot out results
He isn't even pushing it to the limit he mentioned since he wanted it to drive safe
Bro plz make a tutorial about how do you make these kind of videos

As a Lewis Hamilton fan i respect Vertappen's ability but it pisses me off not seeing Lewis up there fighting with him. I just want my boi to get his 8th and just chill in the midfield or retire. Max is a force that is no way being stopped anytime soon so you have to respect the guy. We cant say its the car as much as we want because Sergio isnt up there causing him problems. Max is a prodigy, end of!
Well said
My only problem is why did they cheat to give him the title when the cars were equal (in 2021)? If he's so dominant he should have destroyed Lewis fair and square.
Same, 2021 season had a horrible end that left both hamilton and max fans with a bad tast in their mouth. However the rest of the season was pure magic.
I also think Perez is just not a top tier driver. Give that car to Lando Norris (or Fernando Alonso) and we're having a different conversation right now.
Max fans can never show the same respect
Look at the amount of toxic comments nowadays against Lewis
Max is testing the limits of your program. I've never seen an f1 car that far ahead in qualy
Honestly you only need to go back to 2020 for that. For example the British or Italian GP of that year. Mercedes was often almost a second quicker that season. Although it has to be said that Bottas was generally closer to Hamilton than Perez is to Verstappen.
@@JJCAMulders yeah bcoz bottas. Was good in quali. Perez was slower than stroll. I think he is overrated.

Is there any mechanical difference between the two RB cars? Does the difference come down to driver skill? And/or team orders?
For other drivers, the only good take away from this is that he’s fastest in the middle sector where it’s very hard to pass.
How was this animation made ?
Max did a great qualifying but I think everyone needs to know that it was on a green track, meaning it was on a drying track so grip was improving as u go along and max was last of them 3 to cross the line so he had most grip
Max Verstappen may become THE quintessential GOAT
If you just include the corner name or even corner number that would be great

These comparisons are great, but the music really doesn't fit what's on screen. Always mute the sound while watching.
What data are these videos actually based on? Is it telemetry & GPS data from the actual teams/cars?
1st corner: Perez brakes too early
High speed corner: Perez deploys his energy charge despite not having the confidence to floor it, so ends up getting smashed in the traction zones and subsequent straights.
Perez admitted he tried mimicking Max’s style of driving and failed, which explains his drop in form the previous few races
Does this clip representing the exact lines the drivers drove on the corcuit?
leclerc did an incredible job tbh
Everybody thinking this is Max but in fact it's just the RB car which is totally tuned to his driving style and simply being OP compared to the rest.
so you are saying that the car drives itself?? Or maybe just maybe, you need a racer to perform to he maximum of the car. Yeezzz
Max style is a copy of Michael’s
