Hahahaha! Just get a Miata! So I owned a 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP and traded it for a 2007 Corvette convertible. I'm still youngish (38) vs. most Corvette owners (65+). I am FAR more satisfied with the Vette. It is a lot more roomy and fun to drive IMHO. The Solstice just seemed cheap, rushed, and cramped. It also had flimsy cup holders and whatnot. I will definitely agree though that the sound system was much better in the Solstice. Also, the 07 Vette had an awful harmonic balancer replacement that hit me back $3.5k. Weak sauce. Overall, I'd say the C6 is far better for the sheer fact that it is a Corvette, it is faster, roomier, and far more reliable than a supercharged/turbocharged p!ss ant engine in the Solstice any day. The LS engines are very popular for swaps for a reason!
Completely agree - it was VERY rushed. I have your old Solstice exactly and while I won't be getting rid of it anytime soon, I agree it is very cheap feeling and poorly designed insofar as layout (don't even get me started on the "trunk"... 🤣). I had the exact same issue with the Solstice's 2.0l Ecotec - harmonic balancer chain derailed and needed a new timing chain and harmonic balancer chain. Luckily because it's an I4 and not a V8, the cost was closer to $1500. I'm in the process of actually 'upgrading' the already pretty decent sound system due to the headunit AUX port failing so I'm hoping it still sounds decent. The Solstice GXP with a decent suspension upgrade (Koni Yellows, better swaybar end links) and well kept maintenance (sparkplugs, oils changes, timing chain, thermostat, water pump, etc) makes it a formidable 2-seater.
dead 🤣🤣🤣. You know what they say; "Miata is always the answer!". I do love my American Miata though in my Solstice GXP. 110k miles on it and still going very strong. Normal maintenance, suspension refresh, wakes it up nicely. My brother-in-law has an NC Miata and let me drive it - for sure it is better in every way except power but FUN-wise, the Miata is indeed better, and that's with me still adoring my Solstice. Looks-wise; Solstice/Sky has the Miata beat IMHO so if that's important to you, there's nothing inherently WRONG with a Solstice, except for the parts...
I agree that the Kappa looks much better than the typical bar of soap design that Miatas had for years but the latest generation ND does look pretty nice.
Yes that is a consequence of Miatas being more desirable. I think one of the main reasons is people perceive Japanese cars as better overall than domestics.

The Corvette is a "better" car but the Kappa and Miata are just more fun to daily drive.
If cupholders are your main concern you should get a SUV not a sports car.
I got one of those too! @@robertveronese4405

@@LateralGs Oh man, the ND is an absolute work of art 😍😍
I smoke Miata's in my Redline. Not just by a little, but by a huge margin.
unfortunately Miata's are going up in price. i bought my 06 solstice last week with 12k miles for $16k. any comparable Miata around me is $20k+

Nice find man, I ended up getting a Sky RL with 44k mi for 10k on Memorial Day. Love mine so far
In a nutshell: the Sky Redline is 3/4 of a Corvette.
Haha yeah

I don't think you can tag videos anymore. They stopped that years ago.
