the second duster entered on a slightly different trajectory, the angle of ascent was already different (pay attention to the puddle in the rut), so it was not possible to enter
Duster 3 ("needs a lift kit") obviously (typo in the first points of conclusions)....and yes, in spite of the one failure to finish the hard left turn of Duster2 (very capable and experienced off road driver to my opinion though 👍) it was a combination of hindering factors: second car (that small amount of grip destroyed by Duster3) and not an ideal tire set (don't think that advantage of lift kit played any role here).....in any case, another good video.....but, all in all, Duster 3 does not look that bad in my opinion...so far, so good 😊

Good video guys! But I got 1 question. Why you didn't try 4x4 lock with ESC ON ? From my experience, on these types of AWD systems (without differential lock), It's better in this type of muddy terrain, because it basicaly substitutes the diff. lock with electronics. Especially in the tight corner, where there were only 2wheels spinning. Maybe you can try in next video :)
From my experience isn't about punching the accelerator that represents the best result . Especially because the Duster 2 finds greater difficulty in this case curve, more maneuvers and changed terrain. Some people suport torque to be better and others power.... Both are the best. Another point is not to arrive first if the car is all broken or severely damaged... After all, we may want to repeat the path. The tires of this car should be 225 /65 I would even like to see this modification and tested for those who drive in these mud worlds to give their opinion See several testing with this car and expensive version and duster win Thanks for the video 👍
Hey guys, question from a 4x4 noob (but I'll find these vids extremely satisfying to watch) : at around 3' I would expect the back wheels to spin just as much as the front ones since we are in 4x4 "Lock" mode. But here for both vehicles, the front spins a lot and the back does not seems to recieve much power at all. Why is that ? Thanks !
It’s an open rear diff, it can „lock“ only electronically by using the esc. It’s not a real diff lock and mostly affects power distribution between the axles. This is the same principle with all 4x4 vehicles with a haldex system.
@@Squirrelbrains1 OK thanks man. So basically it needs to detect a spinning wheel to then brake said wheel which results in torque arriving to the opposite wheel?
@@ianjinks4048 that’s what they call it. But there is no mechanical „lock“, just as on all other haldex AWD cars. If you want a „real“ 4wd lock you either need a simple 4wd system with transfer case instead center diff. (Suzuki Jimny for instance) then you get a locked 50:50 between front and rear or an advanced 4wd System with lockable diffs like a G-Wagon, Defender, Pathfinder etc
Cooper AT3 vs Goodyear Vector4!!!???? Different tire, different result'!!!! that goodyear model is not for allterrain situaiton.. So how can we compare the two vehicles objectively? difficult!!! but nice video : )) additionally; between 2:50-3:20 min. in this video, we hear very interesting sounds from the Duster 3's engine and mechanics.. I used 1.3tce 4x4 duster, cheap and useful suv but it was always a concern in terms of car security, maybe I'm just too anxious... anyway, I wish everyone safe and enjoyable driving. Thanks this video, best regards..
Hello, very cool videos! ;) I'm considering purchasing a Dacia Duster for both on-road and off-road use. I'm interested in knowing which model would be more suitable for my needs: Duster 2 1.5dci 4x4 manual with lift and Torsen rear diff: This modified version offers enhanced off-road capabilities. Stock Duster 3 1.2TCe Mild Hybrid 4x4 manual: This newer model offers modern features and potential fuel efficiency benefits, but its standard off-road performance might be less. I'm curious about the significant differences in off-road performance between these two options. Additionally, I'll occasionally need to tow an ATV or two motorcycles. Could you please provide insights into the off-road advantages of the modified Duster 2 and how it compares to the stock Duster 3 in this regard?
Well, in this case, with the torsen rear differential and need of pulling the atv and stuff, you should go for a duster 2. It s far more better in these situations. Maybe a torsen rear differential on the duster 3 would get the D3 closer in performance to the D2 diesel, but on the towing side there is nothing you can do. You will have less torque on lower RPM, which means more pressure on the clutch kit. Somgo for the diesel D2, in my opinion.
@@DusterCoolTravels you don`t need that much torque to tow a ATV. I`ve done it with a Seat Ibiza small engine and we were 4 people in the car and the ATV was a huge 1000cc one.

could be the driver but I really guess its the tires. You can see how the Duster 2 Wheels are constantly slipping through the whole journey. Also a Diesel Engine may be louder even when there is less load. Dont forget that it has a cilynder more and more dsiplacement.
