I feel like they aren't going to be satisfied with any drummer they get because no one they get will be Jimmy. The last time I saw them live the cameras focused on anything and everything except the drummer.

4 years later and this comment even more accurate, the stage was awesome and very creative, Brooks is a flat out better drummer than Arin and he fits super well personality wise and creatively with the guys. The drums on the stage were off the charts, Brooks also just said he just finished recording the drums for the next album so I can’t wait to hear it. Nothing against Arin but he just wasn’t the right fit for the band while Brooks is.

It was the right decision, Brooks is a much better fit creatively and personality wise. No reason to be sad for Arin, he got to tour around the world and make good money with one of the biggest metal bands out there. At the end of the day he just wasn’t the right fit, luckily for the band Brooks is the right fit.

Honestly, I felt so bad for Arin after reading his reaction. To just be told you’re being fired right on the spot with no details his heartbreaking, even more so that he was out in a position of not being able to support his family when his wife was about to have a child. On the other hand, I’m proud of what he had down with A7X. They wanted him to create his own legacy with the band and he did just that. Hopefully he’s having success wherever he is now.

  • @goosemcgoosey902

Arin is a good drummer but just did not fit well creatively or personality wise with the band. This was a move that needed to be done for the sake of the band. Brooks brought a ton of creativity to the band and the stage was fresh and a great rebound album for them. I think after Jimmy left they were kind of lost as a band and needed a spark creatively which Arin just didn’t bring.Nothing against Arin he’s a good drummer but they just flat out upgraded by getting Brooks and it seems they all get along super well which is great to see. Brooks also just finished recording the drums for their next album.

About time they released at least something. Arin is an ok drummer, and yes I have seen him live I still wasn't impressed and this coming from a 15 year drummer with 2 masters and a PHD in percussion, advanced percussion, and musical theory , but he was never fit to temp in Avenged, I feel that decision was made out of the after thoughts from a 2 year alcohol fueled bender of trying to figure out why Jimmy passed over the "official" release of his death. I've followed Avenged since before they were sign before they had Hopeless Records, I even still have a few for the singles the released at gigs and still love them as much as the day I first heard them, BUT Arin wasn't bad but dude needed to go back and relearn how to use a hi hat (see album Hail To The King not my favorite but its ok). Now I'll just wait for someone or a group of people whom think they know anything, or better yet a musical challenge, reply to this. I'm not one for it because after all ITS THE INTERNET AND THIS IS MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION if you don't like it go cry about it. *waits*

I don't think A7x died, just because they got a "worse" album then the oldschool.
      This is my opinion.

They didn’t go down the crapper at all, the stage was a great album and extremely creative. Arin is a good drummer but Brooks is a better drummer and creatively and personality wise he fits in the the guys way better. They 100% made the right decision moving on from Arin, they had to do it for the sake of the band.

Yea, obviously. I don’t think they would continue making new songs if they didn’t.
