My friend and I drove 3 hours to see them in Chicago. It was a small venue, and the bass was vibrating the floor. One of the best shows I've ever experienced and I've experienced a lot. We met them after the show and they were so nice and amazed we had driven 3 hours to see them. I would have driven 30.

Every element of this was a surprise: The sampled beats triggered by the electronic drums, the 80s synth pop mixed with build beats, the awesome outfits, the vocal melody and best of all the ENERGY of the performance. All in all.. loved it!
Whats the gear of the keyboard guy? Its a mystery what he plays and what its a sample...

I’ve watched too many artists I love sorta bomb on this stage. Prudence’s voice is perfect here, and the lads are smashing it in the back. I love that they bring their own energy. I’m sure it’s tough when there’s no audience to feed off of! Pure class, these folks.
I need to change my mind, my point of view at the RUclips recommendations. This clip was on these recommendations since last year and it was yesterday I listened due to boredom. Fool me, this band is the hit, I've listened almost all their songs in one day like 4 times. This girl has the voice of an Angel.

ik dont think its luck on their part... i think its because good people run the place who invite good artists
and dont forget kexp alway does good by the artists. im yet to hear a single badly produced live from them. it feels like some black magic is involved or something like that. they seem to be able to set up in a sardine tin, and make a recording that still sounds awesome. their sound guys are on the highest tier for sure
I love the ability that she has to feel the music that makes them members of the group, unlike many other singers who only care about singing and being the center of attention, without valuing the others.
Probably because she's not only the singer but also co-composer :)

This is the most perfect music I ever heard
ok this is quite funny, i felt like sharing it... since this summer i've been looking for this song...I first heard it on my spotify discover weekly playlist..Ofc i forgot to add it so it disappeared....being the avid googler that i am, i tried to search in every way possible with the few words i still remembered from the song that I now know as "keep your lips sealed"....without any results..I gave up after a week of intense searching....until yesterday when I listened to Alt-j's full performance on KEXP..i liked it so much that I decided to look up more artists on KEXP live sessions...I found this band today and I kinda fast forwarded to the very part that i've been frantically searching for for so long....there were no point to my story, I just felt like sharing it. I'm happy now

OMG, just discovered this yesterday, and I've already listened to it five times...every time she asks, "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GO BACK IN TIME?" I am mesmerized!
And it's SO cute when she does those little Taekwondo-style punch/down block combos;)
found this a few months back. it's a solid go to for me to just chill and at times feel a burst of energy. loving this stuff.

Discovered this band by accident. What a happy accident! Great sound, the guys seem to be having a lot of fun playing their parts! It's joyful to see them perform as well!

This is the first video of them that I watched, and then I couldn't stop.

For whatever reason I associated this band's songs with a girlfriend from years ago. Despair, hangover and ecstasy before boarding a plane to go out on adventures. Imagine my amazement when I actually saw the video for that song. The director or whoever came with the idea got the feel right :)

Found this clip by accident. What a band! Love this kind of quirky electronic pop. Getting Björk vibes. And the singer - what a drop dead gorgeous lady!
Discovered this band in December of 2021, I think literally the morning of Christmas Eve, like two months and change in recovery after getting a kidney transplant, and was instantly entranced. I discovered a lot fo great music during those couple of months and have a weird kind of nostalgia attached to that period, but I almost feel like I did then when I listen to this or Vanishing Twin. Love this band and fervently wish they'd get back together and come to the states
...again, after i have listened currently the official vinyl release ^^, i can say this ... The Dø live performance and this KEXP recording is absolutely awesome and is a realy great version of this songs

The drummer knows what's up. It's interesting that he wants the electronic sound from pads, but still plays them with vigor instead of manning sequencers as most bands of this sort would do. Great sound.
+HMan2828 Because he is a 'true' drummer.
He's not in the band, they just hire him for this tour. But yeah, real drummers on pads is way better than drum machines.
He used to play in lofofora and Destruction Inc before he joined the Do, probably one of the best metal drummers back in his country

An amazing band. they have transitioned from psych/folk/pop into electronic/urban/dance/funk without losing their smart lyrics and sure sense of melody.

I listened to the acoustic version first of "going back in time" and woah! This version is so good too.
I came from there too, Just listened about two or 3 weeks
It took me a while to appreciate this performance. Knowing The Do since 2014, I always enjoyed the band's "acoustic" presentations better, like the one for A Take Away Show or Le Lab. Buuut... After listening to this performance many times, today I could really vibe with it. And all that was to say that we can always rediscover our favourite artists and that's awesome. 💫

Looks like maybe Ableton live in the background or some similar software? Software like that definitely allows for loops and pre-timed, pre-loaded sections. But I agree, seems like a perfect mix of legit drumming/triggering and pre-loaded sections.
