I’m disgustingly pale with the darkest thickest Arab hair. I had the worst folliculitis. It was severe and I tried everything, including full body TCA chemical peels at my dermatologist. That’s when I quickly realized that I needed to invest in professional full body laser hair removal. Game changer! Best money I ever invested!

Moreover, kindly highlight about the importance of covering moles in white marker during a laser hair removal session. Can you please state the consequences of doing laser hair removal over moles? Sorry to hear this. Which kind of laser did you do? I have thyroid issues and I had soprano titanium laser used on me; my hair hasn’t grown back and just need top up sessions for now
If your hormonal/thyroid/PCOS then 100% do electrolysis at least for your face and "hormonal areas" but 100% your face. They NEVER disclose but bot only is laser not effective (some patients see results) but actually cause MORE HAIR GROWTH, esp for PCOS. Electrolysis is so worth it. It might be more pricey in your area, use Groupon if you can BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT!! Only thing the FDA cleared as "permanent" hair removal unlike laser
The answer I was looking for!! So many dermatologists on here are sponsored to push at home IPL devices by the brands selling them… you just saved me money. Thank you!
I spent loads of money after getting laser to try to figure out why I started growing hair like a man on my face. I was tested for PCOS, thyroid conditions, you name it. And I kept telling the doctors (even a dermatologist) that this was the result of laser. They all said they’ve never heard of such a thing. And now you put a name to it - Paradoxical Hypertrichosis. I can’t thank you enough!!
Very good point about going to reputable clinics. The first time I did laser removal I went to a reputable clinic. I got my armpits done in 6 sessions and today over 14 years later I still have no hair. Then for my legs I went to a beauty clinic, and although I haven't been burned (I'm very pale with thick black hair, so it's more difficult to get burned I guess), I've done dozens of sessions and I still have a LOT of hair. Now you are making me wonder if they arereally using laser or only pulsated light. Cheap stuff turns out expensive as we say in Spain! Unfortunately, I don't live in the same country I did when I did my armpits so I can't get my legs done in the good place. But definitely I will go to a derm clinic to get the rest done! Thanks for another great video!

Ty for the video, I have PCOS and have been getting laser treatments for my neck, side of my face, and chin for a few years now. I know that sounds like a long time but to me, it is worth it and it has helped my hair growth significantly! The reason why it's taken so long is complicated by hormonal medications I take causing the hair to reoccur. If you take thyroid replacement or birth control, be careful because it could cause hair you've already lasered to come back! Going back in for touch ups will be key. It's a long journey but it will make a difference!
Thanks for the information, ive been waxing for about 14 years now and still hairy like a forest. PCOS can be such a struggle sometimes. I've been torn about laser treatment for quite a while, also have really bad Keratosis. Comments like yours give me a bit more hope, that you've had success despite your PCOS. ❤

Dear Shereene. I did laser removal on my legs at a very reputable clinic.I had consultations with my dermatologist there as I have MANY moles (with history of displastic moles and and a mother that passed away from malignant melanoma). So i was concerned but she reassured me it is perfectly safe. One laser session in- the next day half of the moles on my legs (at least 30-40 of them) turn black or have irregular black shapes and dots all over. Dr Shereene I hope you make a new video about vitamin c products and review some more of them. It's so hard to find good ones , have you ever tested Clinique's booster? It's in small opaque pressed bottles and you have to press the ascorbic acid into the liquid solution, shake it well and use it within a week, it's a 10% ascorbic acid.

Question, You may have just misspoken, as moments before the statement at @10:10 "Wasting dinero if you shave or wax", I believe you meant wax or tweeze. To clarify, is it okay to shave between treatments? Just don't wax, tweeze, pluck, etc. (anything that removes the root)
I purchased the Braun IPL. It has gotten rid of my leg hair and armpit hair, but my chin hair is exactly the same as ever. I wish I could afford a laser treatment for my chin.

Could you do a review/video on the Allure best of beauty Skin section? Also looooove The Depuffer for my retinol journey/to address some light irritation.
Dr Shereene, could you please make a short or a video about under eye exfoliation - should we exfoliate under eyes, if yes, with what concentration of acid? ( I personally do it 2-3 times per week with 3% glycolic because my undereyes are extremely hollow and the skin is super thin), but I did not find any video talking about how to do it. I know that YES, but what concentration? Yes depends, but still - if the skin is super thin?
Is that a no to all IPL home appliances? I’m so tempted to get the new foreo gadget for hair removal. Any chance you can do a review of these products ?
I have a question for you. I feel like my hair got thin after a couple sessions. It feels like laser don't hit them anymore. At certain parts, the hair falls after sessions but keeps growing back whereas other parts it never grows back. Is it wise to stop going to laser?
Thanks so much for the info on this!! I had roughly 10 sessions about 8-12 months ago for Brazilian. And although it seemed to work mostly at the time, now I have some has grown back and am having to have treatments again. Is that normal or should it be permanent forever?
Thank you for such an informative video. This laser practice I’m going to is using Cadela Laser. Does that come under one of the lasers that you mentioned? Or should I look for a place that does Diode. Thank you.
Will it work on my face? I have black hair and the hair on my face is NOT peach fuzz, it’s black but it’s very fine but longer than peach fuzz so I can easily shave it off. Note: laser has worked wonders for my arms and legs.
Thank you so much for this video. I had laser removal treatment on my chin hair over the course of a few years about 10 years ago. The hair was very light and nonexistent for a while. It immediately grew back when I got pregnant. Why would that be?

Dear Shereene, could you please talk about the best sunscreens and general skincare advice for the eye area?
Omg, idk how tf you read my mind😂 I just booked laser hair removal for next Wednesday I'm getting a Hollywood Brazilian, full legs, arms and underarms, I'm so excited 😭
Btw they use the The Candela GentleLASE Pro, is it good? I have really white pale skin and black black hair
Question, You may have just misspoken, as moments before the statement at @10:10 "Wasting dinero if you shave or wax", I believe you meant wax or tweeze. To clarify, is it okay to shave between treatments? Just don't wax, tweeze, pluck, etc. (anything that removes the root)
yes, it’s okay to shave in between treatments
Yea she meant tweeze
Can you recommend some places to get laser hair removal? Maybe like a prominent franchise like sev? Would you trust it?
I’ve had 15 sessions of Diode laser & Diode-NdYag-Alexandrite laser but no reduction on my beard area
Thank you so much for this breakdown Dr Shereene
I purchased the Braun IPL. It has gotten rid of my leg hair and armpit hair, but my chin hair is exactly the same as ever. I wish I could afford a laser treatment for my chin.
How long it took for it to stop growing?
Thank you, doctor, for this informative video ❤
Happy you found it helpful!
Omg this is really good info!!! Thank you Dr!
Thanks so much for this video! ❤ What are your thoughts on doing laser hair removal if you have acne?
So as a fair-skinned person with blond hair, it looks like I'm stuck with electrolysis for my post-menopausal peach fuzz. Ugh...lol
Love you vids! 🤍 Anyway, I only wash my hair 2 times a week because I have a very dry scalp. Lately, I notice some fungal acne on my forehead. Could you please do a topic about fungal acne? How to prevent and treat them? Looking forward to it! 🫶🏻
Amazing info as always!
Hey Dr. Idriss! Can you talk more about electrolysis?
Yes plz!
As muslim brown girlie this was sad to hear🥲 I'd like to laser but it's expensive and I thought at home ipl devices could be my answer. What can I do now? Pls help🙈
I'm thinking of trying the Braun Silk Expert Pro 5. It apparently scans your skin tone continuously so it doesn't burn darker areas
@@nirvanasingh2 is it an ipl device right?
@@hafsah1889 Yes its IPL
You invest in yag laser. It’s sunnah so don’t feel guilty
@hafsah1889 you've unwanted hair on your face?
I have medium brown hair and FS1 skin. Guess it's time to take advantage of the one benefit of having extremely pale, sunburnable skin?
You are the best Dr. Shereen ❤ I got all the answers in 12 min.
I have medium fair skin with blond hair. Was trying to remove upper lip hair, but instead there is more.
I realize now that I need electrolysis, but scared it’ll hurt too much. I hated laser too.
Avoid electrolysis is you have upper lip eczema. I regret mine
I did over 10 electrolysis appointments, and the results are awful, waist of money
I'm a white male with soo much hair I've been doing laser since I was 25 and I'm 33 now laser has helped but not 100%
Thank you so much, Dr Idriss ❤❤❤
What about Dermrays home lasers? It's supposed to be a true laser and has a model for all skin tones 🤔
Thanks Dr Idriss! How about talking laser treatment or collagen xp next time? Thanks again!
please could you recommend a good at home IPL brand
Hi Doc! Could you explains the electrolisis process?, I've never heard About It, more a detail please❤
Making note of this topic!
Yes! Been wanting to hear about this from you
Could you do a review/video on the Allure best of beauty Skin section? Also looooove The Depuffer for my retinol journey/to address some light irritation.
For paradoxical hypertrichosis, would electrolysis be better? I feel like it's a never ending cycle with laser...
This information was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing
Suggestion for a video - how to find your targeted serum
Which one would uuse to remove hair off the head im bald and hate shaving all the time i just want it all removed permanently
Hi, how do you feel about ordering Tretinoin from The agency “Curology”?
Love your earings, where are they from?
Thankyou for this helpful informative video!
Goodmorning!!! 😊 Thank you for this videooo girll!!! 💃🏼💃🏼
Will your products be available in Canada? If not, can you suggest a comparable product? Thank you. Love how you explain skin care😊
You look so pretty in this video
Dr. Idriss, could you do a deep dive, Let's Get Intimate, with both Resveratrol and Pycnogenol separately please?!
Thanks so much for the info on this!! I had roughly 10 sessions about 8-12 months ago for Brazilian. And although it seemed to work mostly at the time, now I have some has grown back and am having to have treatments again. Is that normal or should it be permanent forever?
Yay, it's Saturday!
Thanks a lot! Despite what you said about IPL, can you refer specifically to Braun's IPL7?
Thank you for the video! What about light colored hair on lighter colored skin? Will that respond to a laser?
This is so helpful! Thank you so much!❤
Pale olive skin tone, natural dark red hair
can you use a hair removal cream before getting treated or do you have to shave with a razor?
Do over the counter laser hair removers actually work? If so, which ones do u recommend?
Please mention great recommendations for where to get laser and electrolysis
Thank you for such an informative video. This laser practice I’m going to is using Cadela Laser. Does that come under one of the lasers that you mentioned? Or should I look for a place that does Diode. Thank you.
Plz recommend if a 14 year old girl can start laser hair removal..?? Thank you
Hello, what do u think is an enough fluence of dark hair with white skin? Is 10 enough? My hair keeps coming back
Will it work on my face? I have black hair and the hair on my face is NOT peach fuzz, it’s black but it’s very fine but longer than peach fuzz so I can easily shave it off.
Note: laser has worked wonders for my arms and legs.
Gorgeous 😍 thanks for the vid
Thank you so much for this video. I had laser removal treatment on my chin hair over the course of a few years about 10 years ago. The hair was very light and nonexistent for a while. It immediately grew back when I got pregnant. Why would that be?
Any hormonal changes can and will affect hair growth. Puberty, pregnancy, menopause. If you completed treatment, you can go back for maintenance.
Good morning or afternoon Dr Idriss!! 😊
Can we exfoliate with loofah to be treated area few days before appointment?
Is it a myth then that going over successfully treated areas stimulates regrowth?
Dr. Idriss, Thank you, could you please recommend list of products for after care? When it comes to waxing. for instance. I'm big fan, thank you for your videos🤓
