    Great series. Very well put together, just the right amount of information and detail breakdown to engage both novice and experienced woodworkers. That none stop product placement is very distracting though. I realize this video is a year old and will PM you with possible solutions that will still get the same product placement without the distraction of it constantly being on screen if I see it in recent videos. Great work! The table looks awesome so far.

    What finish did you use on the base? Was it Odie's Oil also?

    I am currently building a wood slab table out of 8 cm thick oak (350 cm x 100 cm). Do I need to use sliding dovetails or something else to prevent the wood from warping? Thank you Henning

      No if the wood is properly dried once you've flattened it it should be fine.

    Love the videos and the info was paced very well. As a design I think I would have loved to see something more like the top to help it flow? The contrast between the stark square material for the bottom is just not to my liking???

      Hi Pat, thanks for the kind words. For me Live edge furniture is always a balancing act. My favorite thing about this base is it's a classic design that can be modified and embellished to fit many different tastes. We decided to keep it simple with a modern style, this helps the top be the center of attention. The base was also designed with a specific person in mind and was tailored to suit their style.

    Is it only the brass screws keeping the table top on the base? No glue used to affix the table top to the base?

    • @InfinityTools
      @InfinityTools  5 лет назад +2

      Yes, the top is held in place by the wooden clips and screws, This allows the top to expand and contract without causing the wood to crack.

    Are there places that sell slabs? No walnut near me

      There are lots of places that sell slabs, from local saw mills to major hardwood retailers. They can also be purchased through some online retailers just like traditional lumber.

    Andrew, I watched all 3 of these videos. You made me worry about you as are not wearing respirator mask. You started with it when you are flattening the slab. Care for your lungs.
