    Hey Doc! I would really appreciate a video of how worn should the outsoles look in order to change the show for health reasons, like, ok, if they look like this and money is not a problem, you could start getting new ones, if they look like this, definitely you should change them now because it may bring these issues. Past 2 shoes I had I felt like the outsoles still have more to give, but my legs started to get really tense, with tendinitis. As I changed them legs got better, so probably it was too late. I haven't found any good info in the internet on when to change the shoes. Thanks!

    Bought a pair two days ago. Was concerned about fitting in the forefoot & being too narrow. Wore them around the house all day. Actually took a nap with them on. Tonight I got out on the court for several hours. My review. The best shoes I've ever put on my feet. Great cushioning & actually felt propelled in to any steps taken on court. Ran down some drop shots easily with a bum knee. No foot pain like some K-Swiss I've always wore in the past. I had a pair of Lotto Raptors & gave them away after a full day on the court & wearing them to Dodger stadium all day on Father's Day. Highly recommended. I've already bought another pair in white. Thanks FOOT DOC ZACH for steering me in the right direction. Much appreciated. 🎾👍

    Hey Doc, Been watching your review for quite sometime and love your tennis and basketball shoe reviews.
    I live in Tokyo so I already have both the all court and the clay version. I'm loving every aspect of this new shoes from Mizuno.
    I've been wearing the Asics Solution Speed FF for the past 2 years and didn't have any problems except felt a little narrow in the toe area and the tie down of the shoe laces were not so easy. I even put in the PowerStep insoles from your review which was great for my tennis and everyday use.
    Back to Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour, it's light, glove like feel, heel cushion is fabulous. I usually wear a US9 (27.0cm) but went down a size US8.5 (26.5cm) because the tennis shop sales person saw that I had too much toe room with the US9. I tried the US8.5 and I felt that the balls of my feet were at the right place than the US9. I played with the new shoes on the court last week for 3 hours and had no discomfort in the toe area. My first tennis shoes from Mizuno and lovin' it.

    As a podcast idea, how about picking your personal favorite court shoe over the last 2-3 years, like the Diadora Blushield and measuring it up against the newer releases..?

    • @madscientist664
      @madscientist664 Год назад +2

      Yes, yes, yes...
      Without hard measurement data, which is very difficult to do, a baseline shoe or three, to which others are compared, would be very helpful. Without comparative methods, it's just another subjective anecdote on the internet. Bring it to the next level!

    Hey Zach,
    Just an FYI: Tennis Magazine didn't name the Exceed Tour 4 shoe of the year. The title of the entire guide was "Best in Shoe" and an image of the Mizuno was used to illustrate the opener. It wasn't meant to draw special attention to the shoe. The actual edit for the guide was done in alphabetical order, not by ranking. And there was no mention of any award in the review of the shoe. However, the coupling of the image with the title caused some readers to misconstrue that the Mizuno was the best of the bunch. And the reputation stuck.
    Anyway, enjoy your in-depth reviews.

    • @markmoore5981
      @markmoore5981 Год назад +3

      One thing I found very interesting with these shoes was the lockdown of the foot really focused on encasing the ankle to secure the foot, whereas, the Asics Gel Res 9 tries to strap your foot in using it's "DYNAWRAP™ technology" with the straps in the lacing. The Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour system is much more stable and MUCH more comfortable. The Gel Res 9s also feel less nimble that the Enforce Tour. The Mizuno is hands down a better shoe IMO.

  • @markmoore5981
    @markmoore5981 Год назад +4

    Under foot, these shoes remind me a bit of the Lotto Hyperpulse Raptor 100 or the Diadora B.Icon 2 - or perhaps a more slightly more stable Babolat Jet Mach 3 or a lighter Adidas Solecourt Boost (good company to be in IMO). Definitely a more complete shoe than anything in the Nike, Asics, and/or Adidas line now. Much prefer these to the Asics Court FF3 or Gel Resolution 9. Definitely in the TOP FIVE for 2023 - if not #1 overall right now.

    The shoe really feels like it is "vacuum sealed" (as Dr. Zach pout it in his review) around your foot. The ankle collar system in these shoes is brilliant. By far the best shoe I have tried (and I have tried them all) IMO. Cushioning is outstanding with a little energy return. Stability is fantastic. Fit is terrific and runs true to size. Podcast ideas:
    Podcast ideas (could either be done as a minor point in an episode or as whole episodes themselves, depending on length):
    -The difference between getting the right shoe and using shoes as a bandaid for a deeper issue ...e.g. Getting a good shoe for heel pain, but never stretching calves, or investigating WHY the heel pain is there.
    -If you have a history of a foot problem, but with the right shoes and care the problem fades, is it ever safe to go to a more performance-based shoe? Or should you always consider shoes that address a problem you have had in the past?
    -Conversations with other podiatrists and the common problems players of different sports present with, common mistakes people make, etc.
    -If I don't have the money for expensive shoes online, or could only really get what was on the rack at a sporting goods store, what should I look for? (This could also be a really cool video idea where you go into a store and actually walk viewers through the process of finding the right shoes)
    -Ways shoe companies trick people and what kind of language to look out for in product descriptions that are warning or red flags
    -How to properly care for your tennis/basketball shoes
    -The true costs behind getting the right shoe and the wrong shoe (so, the wrong shoe exacerbating an issue could mean you pay for the shoe and the medical costs)
    -Going off the last point: What are the average costs for different issues brought about by playing with the wrong shoe?
    -When to invest in a sport specific shoe when learning a new sport and the arguments for/against. Should new players get the right shoe immediately since their form won't be great and they could take awkward steps and roll an ankle in a shoe with less lateral support? Or should they wait to get a pair until they have the fundamentals down and are moving more and more quickly?
    -Since you play tennis, a good conversation could be had around how much of someone's budget should go toward shoes vs. racket and how often you should be buying new shoes.
    Even if you use none of these, I hope they inspire some other ideas or get the gears turning!

    Hi Doc, I'd like to have your opinion about these Mizuno compared to Asics Court FF2 and 3.
    I'm 50, athletic and play tennis 5/6 hours per week, even more when I play tournaments. I usually wear a custom orthotic insoles due to my feet (overpronation and a kind of low arch), which led to several calf injuries (strains) between 2017 and 2020, until I finally started wearing those orthotics and had no more injury so far.
    I usually wear Asics Court FF2 because of their stabilty, support/containment and responsiveness.
    I wonder if these Mizuno might be even better for my feet/calf issues, more shock absorbing and supporting/containing at the same level of the Asics.
    I'll appreciate your opinion very much since I'm about to change and I'm forced to pick another model now that Asics Court FF2 are almost out of stock.
    Should I stick to Asics and get the Court FF3 or should I go for the Mizuno???
    Thank you.

    Great show, but the ventilation is bad. I put the shoe right up against direct sunlight, only the holes from the top of the tongue can shine through, all other areas remain complete dark. I play tennis everyday, ventilation is important. I just hope shoe company really pay more attention to that, not just tennis shoes. Otherwise, most of the description from Zach is pretty spot on.

    Great review. You are the only source for objective reviews. After watching your review, I headed over to Mizunousa. Absolutely no useful info. So I asked them to please tell me what the drop was. Response was almost immediate - it’s not possible to measure drop on tennis shoes - only running shoes. Being stubborn, I responded. I explained what drop was, and said that I hoped they didn’t need to measure it - they designed it so I assumed they must already know. A couple of days later they answered - 5 mm. Amazing. You actually section the shoe, so it’s dead easy to measure the heel height and forefoot height, so your numbers have to be right. What do you think - are they trying to obscure the actual specs for some reason or does their marketing group really not understand?

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  Год назад

      That’s interesting - shoes are shoes - heel and a toe it’s pretty straight forward- I’m guessing no one’s asked and the people you’re talking to there aren’t the engineers but marketing people who probably don’t know what you’re asking

    Hello Zach, i didn't know your channel..thanks for the information you shared.
    I resumed playing tennis in February, after 6 years of stopping with the old asics gel resolution (of 6 years ago)..tendinitis after 3 workouts. In May i bought the mizuno wave exceed light and fell in love with it, although the tendonitis didn't go away anyway. Now they have already worn out on the sides (they don't have reinforcements like these in the video), and since i stay on mizuno and you talk about it well, i would like to buy this wave enforce tour: do you think they can improve my tendinitis with the shoe as it is, or do you need a specific insole to replace? Thank you

    Hello. Could you please help me with a question? I always used the Asics Resolution size 9US (27cm already considering the clearance for playing tennis), now I want to buy this Mizuno Enforce Tour Clay but here in Brazil Mizuno only has size 8.5 (26.5cm) or 9.5 (27.5) USA. Considering the shape of this Mizuno Enforce Tour Clay, will size 8.5US (40BR) be ok? I'm afraid of buying the 9.5US and it will be too big. I'm going to buy online, near my city I can't find these sneakers in physical stores.

    After reading/viewing lots of reviews from Tennis Warehouse USA, Amazon and RUclips (Foot Doctor Zach), I ordered a pair of Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour, size 7.0, on 31/07/2023 and received it on 04/08/2023.
    I really need a pair of tennis shoes that is comfortable and offers lots of cushion. My excitement immediately stopped there the very first time I put it on and I totally agree with Brett's review from Tennis Warehouse on May 03, 2023.
    Size: 1/2 size smaller than standard size. 5/10.
    Comfortability: No softness out of the box: 6/10.
    Cushion: A bit thicker than New Balance 696v4 which is only 1/3 of its price BUT NOT SOFTER AT ALL.
    Support: Good support. 7/10.
    Stability: Wrapping around your ankle and giving security feeling. 8/10.
    Traction: Great. 8/10
    Durability: I don't know. ???
    Weight: Average. 6/10.
    Value for $$$: NOT WORTH IT. 2/10
    I would return it if I were in USA. 👎👎👎
