I like that you're measuring the metarsal and toebox width of the shoes you review. I'm not sure how feasible this is but it would be good to know how much wider the "WIDE" version of shoes that come in wide are. For the shoes that have a wide or 2E model available, it doesn't seem consistent how much width the wide size adds.

Surprising to see this shoe get so much hype by other You Tubers saying similar things as well! Its like finally Yonex have finally made it to the level of Asics and Nike.
I’m so glad I bought these off of your review. These took about 2 matches to open up and bring out their best. Perfect fit woman 7 high arch. Feels like the Zoom Zero ( which was my favorite shoe) rather than the gpt (too squishy for me)! Great bounce but no sinking cushion where you feel stuck. So comfortable I could wear these all day. No heel slippage. Sticky traction smoothed out perfectly after a couple of uses. I intend to get the clay version also. Fast shoe! My favorite since the zoom zero and I’ve tried many shoes. I’m in love 😊
Was waiting patiently for this review, you never disappoint doc! While objectively you scored them the same, who would you recommend the Ad Accel to vs the Solution Speed FF3?
I tended to pronate inwards in the Mizuno Wave Exceed 5s. These look to be a similar shape, would you say the stability is better due to the tech used, or should I stay away from these if I want to avoid that rolling inwards feeling? Perhaps safer sticking with the Eclipsion 5s if I'm looking at Yonex shoes?
Yonex lowkey produces some of the best tennis shoes. I've worn the Eclipsions since the 3 and they get better with each iteration. Now I wanna snag an Ad Accel because there's a wide version available too!
Hey Zach! Really like these shoes but confused by the sizing. As you know, they have a particularly long pointed toe box. I am a natural size 12.5 but play tennis in a size 13 to avoid toe jamming. In the Ad Accel with it's toe box shaped as it is it feels like the shoes are two sizes too large. Do you recommend going down a FULL Size in these shoes to a size 12, or live with the extra room in the toe box (as there is no size 12.5)?
Zach, Interested to know your opinion as to which Yonex shoe you feel is most STABLE? As an a player with flat feet that over-pronates and one prone to rolling ankles, stability is of primary concern. You have rated both the Ad Accel and the Eclipsion 5 as extremely stable. Which would you pick if you had to choose?
Hello from Milos Raonic country! I've been following you since I started tennis in 2022. Thanks to your recommendations, I've had the Asics Court FF2, Lacoste AG-LT21 and currently playing in a sweet pair of Nike GP Turbos. They've all been great so thank you! I'm in the market for a new shoe and was going to get the Asics gel res 9, but this is intriguing. Which do you think is best for me? I'm 6'2, 235, big serve and volley, aggressive playing style. I'm developing big toe arthritis (hallux rigitis?) and some light knee/low back/hip pain and flat feet (normal width). I also looked at Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour and Lotto Raptor but they're hard to get in Canada! The Ecllipsion also doesn't seem good for my needs. Thanks so much!
Current rotation for all outdoor pickleball is GT Academy and GP challenge. Need next pair to be slightly wider and more durable outsole. These are the new Head PB ?
Hey Zach! As always, great review. Terrific shoe! Been wearing a pair since this review first came out and I need you opinion on them though. SIZING?! I normally wear a size 13 so that I have about a half a thumbnail extra room to protect against toe jamming in most other shoes. With these shoes, a size 13 gives me acres of space in front of my toes because of the pointy toe shape of the shoe. Other than that, it fits great. Do you think I need to size down to a size 12 to get a better fit or leave it as it is. A size 12 1/2 would probably easily be possible if they had one. What do you think?
I'm finding that the outsole is wearing quite significantly after only having these for 1 month. is there a similar feeling/performing /better wearing shoe out there doc? Thanks for your great info as always!
Really helpful and interesting review. Where would this have ranked among your best 5 summer 2024 tennis shoes, particularly compared to the LaCoste? Thanks
hey Zach! Great review! The vapor pro 1 shoes are coming back on the market for temporary time, which is exciting, maybe you could review that again like you did the 9.5 shoes! Also, would recommend the diadem court burst tennis shoes, there similar and great! Thanks!
I love my Eclipsion 4s for tennis and pickleball. Only issue I have with that shoe is a slippery tongue I have to constantly reach down to center again. Looks like the Ad Accel wouldn’t have this issue. If I made the switch to this shoe, how differently would it feel than the Eclipsion? Looks like this one has a fairly high heel drop so thinking it may feel a bit different overall. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. How would you compare this shoe to the Lacoste's AG-LT 23 Ultra? I've been going back and forth between Eclipsion 5's and AG-LT 23 Ultra's.
I have all three for pickleball and prefer either the Lacoste’s or Ad Accel’s. I stopped using the Eclipsion 5’s after a few wears because I didn’t find them fast or comfortable. My current rotation is the AG-LT 23’s for max performance (they are superior moving laterally), the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour’s for comfort, and the Ad Accel’s for performance/comfort or for performance over 2 hrs. If I could only choose one shoe it would be the Ad Accel’s because I feel like they have no major compromises. Some shoes might be slightly better in some aspects, but they are so good across all categories that they’ve become my favorites. The Lacoste’s compromise a little midsole and lateral flange comfort for performance, but I have a slightly wide foot so maybe the lateral flange won’t be uncomfortable to you.
@@d_13g0I can’t say yet since I’ve only had them for 2 months, but I am going through the Ad Accel’s tread fairly quickly. I thought I saw someone else experience the same. For what it’s worth, I like them so much I already have a 2nd pair ready.
@footdoctorzachdubbs, you mentioned that you’re only reservations have to do with players who may have some ankle instability or history of rolling. Given that I’m playing with a split tear in my perennial tendon I am very concerned about ankle stability. Would this be a poor choice given that? I’m a fan of shoes that increase my mobility, but not at the expense of potential injury to my ankle even though I wear a brace. Am I better off with a Lacoste AG LT - 23 or Asics gel Resolution 9 as alternatives? I know both those shoes are incredibly stable, but I’m also looking for quickness at the same time for doubles.
@footdoctorzachdubbs, How would you compare with other speed shoes on the market right now that you have tried based on overall performance (outside of the Yonex brand)? I am thinking specifically of the Mizuno Exceed Tour 6, the Asics Solution Speed FF3, the Babloat Jet Mach 3, etc. - how would you rank these with the best of the speed shoes on the market now (specifically in the area of stability and cushioning)?
