    I love the Gel Resolution. I've tried many different shoes including those from well-known tennis gear brands. I've found this specific Ascis product line is best for me. It's comfortable and safe.

    Moved over to asics gel resolution 9 after trying nike and adidas. Absolutely love them and durability is excellent

    The hypercourt express take is right on. When I came back to playing I tried several options and they just didn’t “feel” as confident in the fit as I did in this. It did remind me the traditional fits I used in college.

    Agree on everything you said about the Ascis Resolution line as I had a set of Ascis Resolution 7's - and upgraded to the 9's recently. Ascis managed to keep the same characteristic feel, support and performance while improving everything just that little bit with the updated models. Even though the Resolution's come at a premium they are well worth the price point, mainly because of the performance they have on tap and the crazy durability they have - some shoes I've tried the soles have not even lasted a 1/3 of the play time the Resolution can endure.

    • @elchanclascocina
      @elchanclascocina 7 месяцев назад

      You didn't get to use the Resolutions 8? Used them and definitely lasted a lot but also had a pop in the uppers which lasted for many months and really hated it (many complained about the same)

    • @jamieleong9381
      @jamieleong9381 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@elchanclascocina I didn't go to the Resolution 8's as I wanted to see what the market had to offer. Inbetween I tried the Wilson Pro Ace's - which were utter garbage in terms of sole durability. Also tried the Kswiss Hypercourt Express which had reasonable sole durability, a playable amount of support but they shine in terms of their comfort. Probably the best of the bunch for anyone looking to take care of their feet/joints. After going through these I went back to Ascis and probably won't shop around until Ascis messes with the Resolution's formula

    Good roundup! What do you reckon is the best replacement for the Nike GP Turbo ie plush comfort type shoe?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  6 месяцев назад

      There is an evolution of that shoe coming out in the near future but I haven't gotten to test it. The New Balance CT-Rally is surprisingly plush so maybe give that a shot, but really nothing feels like the Turbo.

    Great video! Wish I watched this vid right before I bought my Vapor Pro (first gen) 2 days ago! I got them for $70 though so it’s still a good deal!
    From reviews, it seemed like Vapor Pro 2s were a completely different shoe from the Vapor Pro. Did you find it an upgrade? Are they even comparable?

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver

  • @gregbishopmav

    Back story, I wear 2E, most brands don't even offer something that fits (cough: Nike)
    New Balance 806: loved them except the toe stitching rips pretty fast so they are done for within a few months. Went through 3 pairs before tiring of that defect.
    K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 2: run big (only brand I've had to drop down half a size). Fantastic space in toe box. Suuuuper uncomfortable on the bottom - like my feet have never actually hurt after tennis in any other shoe like they do with these. I don't use aftermarket insoles (yet) so that might be a quick fix and still be a cheaper overall solution for how cheap these kicks run.
    Asics Gel Res - nailed it when you said toe box was slim. Even with 2E, I got blisters on my big toes and had to wear silicone toe protectors (yes it's a real thing and works great but it's an extra pain to have to do). Otherwise, totally fantastic shoes.
    New Balance 996v5 - it's next to try!

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  6 месяцев назад +1

      It's a huge part of why I can't really wear the Gel-Res, or at least prefer other shoes. Give the 996 a shot! You may want to stick with a D width; I'm not kidding when I say they are gargantuan D widths.

    I'm currently watching the video. I must say that the most confort and safe shoes I tried are the Diadora, I choose the fly 4. Tried Asics gel, Nike vapore, Adidas, no one got the same comfort and locked toe like the Diadora. Willing to try next year also Lotto.
    P.s. what I dislike of modern tennis shoes Is that are made 100% plastic material the Will last very short time from my standpoint.

    • @RacketsRunnersVancouver
      @RacketsRunnersVancouver  7 месяцев назад

      The rubber actually helps them last a little bit longer because it holds up better on the abrasive court material, but it does make for a slightly different feel on foot.

    Probably 10 years ago a friend bought K-Swiss and pretty much said what you said. Except for the fact that the shoes lasted barely 2 weeks. He played 3x a week so his not at all cheap K-Swiss were destroyed in 6 days on the court. Seriously unusable, finito, morte, kaputzski. Yuh huh so I can't in good conscience even consider trying on a pair. Yes even 10 years later, sorry Luca I have my standards.
    I will say however leather uppers on a New Balance shoe sure sound interesting. Poofey Tongue? I had to listen 3X to understand what you were on about! Had you not grabbed a Poofey Tongue by the fingers I would still be wondering where you partied last night! 😂

    Let's be honest. The best tennis shoes are Asics Court FF3 Novak with this specific own "sock". Yes, it's a bit harder to slide foot into it, and that's a shoehorn is must have in tennis bag, but after all they are absolutly best shoes out there with top notch comfort, quality etc. The price is "top" too, but good things must cost.
