- In this video i'll dicuss/therycraft if Shaman SpellHance build in Phase 2 of Season Of Discovery will be the best spec for enhencement shamans. Maelstrom weapon shaman rune will likely make Elemental spec the go-to for enhancement shamans.
Dual wielding 2 spell power weapons and the spec for 10% spell and melee hit might be interesting here. You are going to get so much more out of spell it hit than the Overload, imo. In a full level 60 ele build, you'd have 3% from resto and 10% from DWspec, getting you very close to cap without gear. being the Elemental Melee build, you're missing the 3% from resto but that even more incentivizes using DWspec rune. Also, i think the sleeper in the elemental build will be the fire nova rune, with Call of Flame/Improved fire totems/Elemental Fury. Even on single target fights, even before SoD, using FIre nova totem and then swapping to Magma Totem at the start of a fight is A LOT of dps. now that they can be a single totem that pulses both effects and pushing that damage as high as it can go is going to actually be a higher DPS gain than Maelstrom. Only time will tell...

This is very very similiar to the early wotlk days of spellhance. I did that for the wotlk classic release and the damage was nuts with fire nova even on single target. However, with the massive buff to stormstrike spellhance may not keep up at all.
would be interested in a follow-up video now that phase 2 is out and MSW has been buffed :)

Pure phys DW build is simming around 50-100 dps higher. Although it’s amazing to see how 2H is only around 5% behind DW.
Good video man, and great idea. I had same idea then realized it's fun but much less damage if MW keep same 10 PPM as WLK with simple 2 facts:
1. Even with haste in wlk, Enhancement can't do an instant cast within 8 sec. An instance Lava Burst will take much longer than it's cd. Then lava lash + light chain > Lava burst with enhance gear
2. 30% speed 10% damage, enhanced weapon >>>> 9% crit. Not going to consider the huge 30% speed 10% damge, just a small enhanced weapon provide 93 ap , what does this mean. P1 bis enhance shaman get 135 ish ap from full bis gear.
At the end of the day, I love this idea and hope Blizzard can further buff this like adding ap->sp, or maybe increase MW PPM to 30(well that's too crazy then)
Yeah maybe you're right, maybe deep enhance is going to be the play for phase2. Maybe the hybrid spellhance can come online in phase 3/4 cause then you get the flurry for 30% weap speed aswell as ele fury?
This could be a nice alternative for melee range friendly fights / PvP while not having to farm another entire gear set.
Its not quite viable this phase yet. But will be starting phase3 with 21/20/0.
Dualwield spec, Lava Burst, Maelstrom.
Gearing like an ele for spellcrit without the restriction of needing any hit gear. +most new crit gear BEING BOTH MELEE AND SPELL!!
Spellcrit triggers increased melee crit, that triggers flurry, triggering more maelstrom proccs. Positive feedback loop.
Flametongue on OH for spellscaling and WF on MH for Maelstrom.
Mana wont be an issue either.
Very cool build! Inspired me to experiment with a tank version very similar to this.
I'm no where near being able to start experimenting but I saw that they updated that 2H mace from SM to also have SP with 17 STR. Could be worth looking into
Burnt out on spellhance from WOTLK. two handed enhance is all I need in my life I dont care how bad it is lol
im mad they added maelstrom weapon rune, i dont want a wotlk enhan shaman here in sod, i want a tbc shaman with dual wield or a viable 2h version
Manual Crowd Pummeler, Flurry, 2 hand rune, and the 10% from the new WB will be absolutely insane. Looking forward to trying it out.
Even just 2h rune and flurry will be wild, 60% faster Corpsemaker for leveling? Sign me up
They buffed SS, lowered mana cost and CD a ton. Pure Enh tree should be better.

Curious of its damage with a 2hander as opposed to 2wield.

Man, just going to tell everyone our secrets now XD I think if you go Maelstrom weapon, you need to go two fast spellpower daggers and it will pop off. I think overload will beat out DW spec, but I get what you're saying there. You only lower your hit chance by 17% on your offhand when you dual wield, your main hand is still the normal melee hit chance. If you go power surge on the belt, I think you want the best caster weapon setup you can get and it's more of a straight ele build.
For the 2h version Staff of Jordan would be insane.
I was thinking of something like this for P2 it might not be meta, but I'm sure it's gonna be cool to play
Golden scale gear and migraines might would be a great combo for this.... But you would miss out on stuff trying to get to 2 handed mastery
Btw got cheeky and tried a Fury > SS build in Sunken Temple last week and its BAD; like REALLY bad. You dont realize just how many stacks of Maelstrom you get from Storm Strike.
There could maybe be a possibility of LvB topping LL at 60 but in no way should you not take Storm Strike in SoD.
Yea, since they changed the CD on stormstrike to 6 sec. I think it's always gonna be the play
Stormstrike is now on a 6s cd and 6% mana cost and the debuff limit for the extra 20 nature damage has been removed so yeah with those buffs ss might be the play still but the build could still be good. We shall see next week
where did you see that its a 6 second cd now instead of 20

im not lvl 40 yet on my shaman, i'll make a followup video once i hit 40 and test it in gnomer
With AP not being transferred to SP or vice versa this build will never been anything more than a meme.
current implementation:
Windfury doesn't proc Maelstrom Weapon.
Maelstrom Weapon resets the weapon swing timer, even at 5/5 stacks.
Styles like Stormstrike and Lava Lash do not proc Maelstrom Weapon.
Looks kinda bad for maelstrom right now...
Yeah all of those limitations basically need to be removed for it to be decent and feel good to play
Honestly do this build but all points into Ele. The talent points are just better then any of the enhance talents and you really don’t need them. Also, go for int gear. Would be awesome.
The only problem will be that crowd pummler is going to be too busted

BIS gear list to this build would be very interesting
Now that we know that stormstrike is only 6 sec cooldown, you have to get it, auto reset attack each 6 second is busted

I was doing some theory on this one last night, I think you will be better using the dual weld or 2 hander rune instead of overload to get you more maelstrom procs and hit rating
Yes i also think that is likely, because it's not just hit with melee. It's also hit with spells
@shjelde660 in saying that, I think going into two handed might have an advantage as you can pare with crowd pummeler's buff for 50% haste for 30seconds... and let's face it 39seconds is longer than most fights..
@@shjelde660with the pummlers haste buff and 2handed specialisation you get 80% haste then you can use the void touched gloves too for a further 10% and troll racial ontop of that... then the trinket from gnomes and world buff aswell... all that with windfury... this will be nuts haha
Crowd pummler will have a .4second swing time with just 2 handed mastery and pumler buff...

I'm interested to know if WF proc hits can count towards maelstrom generation. Or will it only be from auto attack hits.

Have you given a thought about tank/spell caster shaman hybrid, cool stuff
Maelstrom weapon also works with healing wave so the amount of self healing will be nuts

maelstrom is just a chance on hit, not a guarantee. might not proc as fast as it needs to to make this viable

Maelstrom weapon at 5 stacks allows casting of a spell to be free. Plus shamanistic rage, mana shouldn't be an issue

I think a mix would probably be preferable. But no way of knowing

this is for pvp? i feel like pve needs a 'mental quickness' for spellhance to be viable
its for both tbh. i dont think we'll get mental quickness. i'd rather that they adjust the runes a bot to make up for the "lack" of spell power, Mental quickness would make gearing borring cause then you would always prio agi/str

If they do something with stormstrike, then I think full enhance mig the best spec. If not, I doubt it. Bet we shall see 😃
