What's should be my next DIY project?
high tech air conditioning in the garage
@@miguelmallari4708 already have A/C in my garage 🤷♂
@@DavidBlodgett hahahahaa
@@DavidBlodgett I'll try to come up with a good one.
Honestly I juss wanna see a quick bike check
I flinched at 12:25 thinking it's gonna fall on him. This is so nice btw, the edits, the music, and your skills bro 🔥. Looking forward for more of your builds.
Why hasn’t this guy blown up from his confidence and editing like I want to see more videos of him transforming rooms into his dream rooms
appreciate it Jake! Just got started with my channel and made this for fun. I will be focusing on making short documentaries for this channel and maybe some more room transformations in the future.
He needs to have a call to action where the views is at the peak and remind the viewers to sub. He also didn't introduce what he and the channel does to new audience (like me) :)
@@RenzzTV Channel will be mainly short documentaries. Have one on a regenerative farmer and drift car driver coming out soon. so I won't limit myself to a niche. Thank you very much for the feedback though :)
I can't believe I stumbled on EXACTLY what I needed. I'm a video editor scanning through all these construction videos and trying to see how I could apply their renovation to what I need and at a fraction of their space. To see you work within such a tight space AND to build something I am intending to build has given me the confidence I need. Awesome video.
The breakdown of the finishes for the desk blew my mind!!!!!! Great video man!
Thank you Mats! if you found that interesting, youll like this video too ruclips.net/video/BSA6mPF7DQw/видео.html
this process is beautiful, and very encouraging to see you planned and did all the work day by day. I truly admire your manual dexterity, I need to learn from you
Thank you! take what you can from the video and let me know if you have any questions
Very inspiring and fun to watch. Want to see more !!
Thank you Tyler, more to come. Focusing more on short docs rather than DIY builds.
Dude I was SHOCKED at the final results, and then shocked again when i saw you are under 1k subscribers! Please keep posting content- you have great filming and editing skills. This was really great to watch!
Much appreciated Jesse! I got a few documentaries in the youtube pipeline
@@DavidBlodgett I'm sure your new space will make pumping those videos out a much nicer experience! Keep em coming dude. I'm hooked.
surprised you don't have more subscribers but you've just earned yourself another, beautiful work on everything you touched brother!
much love! thank you :)
As a Paint manager it makes me happy to see you use the Minwax pre stain.. that stuff is an absolute game changer when you stain wood!
Yes! I did some testing beforehand and it made a big difference.
I like how your video is realistic about the actual cost of this transformation. All too often people will do these renovations but not be honest about the cost of each individual step/item for purposes of youtube relevance. Awesome job and gives me a good idea for myself in the future to do similar of potential costs!
Authenticity is the only way. :)
That is amazing. Loved every second of this.
Great job! Great video editing quality!
Thank you Damir, more to come :)
Absolutely love this! Keep it up!!
Ohh no, you found me
Nice work dude, perfect!
got an acacia butcher block for a height adjustable custom desk i'm working on, really glad this vid popped up on the feed. great stuff, easily deserve more subs!
nice! way better than buying a pre made height adjustable desk! Thank you :)
Very well done. If I may add a suggestion, You could put in some ridged foam on your garage door. I used the 2 in 4x8 sheets to make fake walls in my basement. I primed and painted mine! They
look amazing
That is a great idea actually. Do you know of the ridged foam you put blocks out heat?
Thanks for your sharing, I really like the way you make the desk that will last for a lifetime, especially waiting 30 days for to finish the coat and apply the American made metal legs into it.
You're very welcome. I have a video dedicated to how I built my desk I think you would like!
For a new RUclipsr, your video editing skills are excellent. I like the style.
Much appreciated. Been making youtube videos for years but never for my own channel. I would like to see what you think of the latest video on my channel, since that style of content is what I want to focus on.
Incredible transition!
Thank you Zach it was hella work
Underrated youtuber earned a new subscriber, keep it up!
Appreciate it :) Short docs coming up!
Man, this video is awesome. Im in love with your music design ❤️

Great job David
did not realize you were a small channel, only after I finished the entire video I realized and subbed :)
Just getting started, thank you.
Awesome work, looks brilliant!
YEEE! Thank you
@@DavidBlodgettmy pleasure buddy. Wish i had the money to do something similar for myself but hey nowadays 9-5 doesn’t pay well nor can i save enough to eventually be able to do something like this. Not only that, the ex-gf stole 30K and put me in debt so been paying that off since 2021 🤦🏻♂️
loved the vid, and such a cool build
Much appreciated Tenzin
clean!! great job
Its a pretty funny coincidence, I'm sitting at a birch desk 30x72 inches, that I also stained in red mahogany, built it back in 2012. Still useing it to this day, though I opted for a gloss polyurethan finish after being unhappy with semigloss and satin. Three coats brushed on, sanding in between, final coat sprayed with an HVLP. Its a bit more complex though, built in drawers and legs and such. Cool build, keep it up.
No way, thats awesome! Great minds think alike haha. Whats a HLVP?
@@DavidBlodgett high volume low pressure, spray gun. Basically a paint gun, I used a cheapy one from harbor freight since I didn't want the urethane to wreck a decent paint gun. Rattle can gets the job done too, but you generally can't get as thick of a coat and cans cost a lot more. If you send your final brush coat smooth and spray that last coat you minimize or remove any brush strokes. Even a foam brush will leave lines here and there and I was being picky,
You know, I will probably use that method in a few years when I recoat the desk because its true, upon close inspection, I see where I readjusted my body when going across the desk. Thanks for the tip.
@@DavidBlodgett no problem, always happy to help a fellow maker.
Amazing video step by step how it should be done.
Appreciate it!
Increíble 👏 hasta ganas me dan de hacer el mío!! 👍

Great Vid. Its funny Im in the same boat, trying to figure out my design for my garage. And we are both in the production world and Live in FL. Lol. Awesome brake down of things also.
BIGGG TABLES! is my best recommendation!!
Love this!!!!!
Nice transformation man. I personally would have done the table with dark legs and kept the original wood color natural with Poly over the top.
Super garage brother!! 💥👌
Thank You! Much love
One of the best transformation videos I've seen on YT
Much love Jay :)

Awesome! Just a minor thing, a mounted arm for the MacBook is super functional and looks a lot better!
hmmm thats a good idea actually. Any recommendations?
the quality of this vid is top notch jesus
Appreciated!
sickkkk garageee!!! 😎
nice build man, hope you plan on keeping the house tho cuz thats def gonna come up with the buyer 😂 still a really nice setup and would do it myself if i had somewhere with covering to park my car besides the garage
The buyer would love it! haha definitely planning on keeping the house.
That was an awesome video
Appreciate it :)
Love that you have the Baja California map at the beginning, im from La Paz area
Yea man! I did a whole documentary on the peninsula: ruclips.net/video/nL6iFdIRyjs/видео.htmlsi=QpyGOv8fGHFiYbJ6
The epoxy floor and that table are amazing...
yea made a huge difference, way easier to clean the floor now and I just like the gloss black look
sweet setup
Much love, thank you. Im going to improve it soon and make another video on it
Great work! love how the garage came out! where'd you get the music from?!
Musicbed!
And hours of listening lol
@11:34 DAAAAAYUUUUMN dude. NICE
Wow, a video on YT where a garage floor coating wasn't completely butchered. Nice job.
fantastic.
Much Love :)
Highly recommend getting a monitor arm for your monitor and your laptop to finish off the aesthetic and add some additional functionality to your desk.
🤔 good idea. Any recommendations?
Awesome transformation! I am considering to convert my garage into an office as well due to limited amount of space and this video definitely has inspired me. I have a question, did you put some sort of insulation foam on your garage door so that the temperature in the garage is better? What kind of foam did you use? Thank you.
I installed www.homedepot.com/p/Owens-Corning-Garage-Door-Fiberglass-Insulation-Kit-22-in-x-54-in-8-Panels-GD01/202257272 on the the door a 5 years ago. It works great but I also have A/C in the garage
wow.
How did u obtain all this knowledge about doing all this things??
I would feel so confident knowing i can transform shit with my bare hands like you do.
Awesome vid bro
Honestly I was pretty clueless figuring it out and watching a bunch of subpar tutorials on RUclips. That’s why I made this video, bc I wish I had something like this to reference. I’m sure a real handy man could do it better. Appreciate it, much love
Doing this for the past couple weeks. Such a fun project! :) Any tips on leveling a sloped garage floor for a workbench? For context, it would house 3D printers, so the slight mislevel will defo matter. For now, I'm using shims under the printers themselves, but I'm researching some more permanent solutions for the long run.
a concrete flooring company could probably level our your garage perfectly. But thats expensive soo shims should work
I know this was 3 months ago, but your garage is sloped for drainage purposes. Build the workbench legs longer to account for the slope. If its a workbench meant for only the garage itself then that is a permanent solution. You can do either but its a matter of probably thousands of dollars rather than just spending a fraction of the price on just building the legs longer.
Before I type too many more words here, I should point out that I am a 58 year old man, WHO has always wanted a garage and NEEDED a work space, BUT for decades EVERYBODY stood in my way on the topic!! So that said all I have ever wanted WAS a garage, and now with health problems, I have had to give up on that dream!!
NOW first things first, converting a garage to a home office, to me is a stupid idea!! Because these days owning a $30,000 (or more) vehicle IS an investment, and it bothers me, when I see people leave a car in the driveway that DO own a garage!! BUT you have to know too, I was trained as a mechanic, so it also goes against my longing to own old collector cars as well too!!
Aren’t you just loads of fun 😂
The average American uses their garage for storage. While guys like this in the video probably make their income from the computer so having an office is major. While the last group probably works from home. Context man. It's a new day.
Super underrated channel
Much love 😁
no joke this looked bad ass
Thank you my man! Much love
@@DavidBlodgett you as well watching this build and how you redid this entire garage is crazy. I also think you should’ve got yourself a standing desk but that’s just an observation
Very well made video. Thought u had like hundreds of thousands of subs.
Much Appreciated! on my way there haha
Dang that floor turned out super nice! That is what I'd like to do with my garage :D I'm gonna have to check my local hardware and lumber stores and see if I can reuse some of the trees off my property for stuff :D 7k isn't bad, I'm going with less lighting though cause those are expensive but it turned out nice :D
Glad you liked :) .. yea, you can definitely save on lighting with a cheaper brands.
@@DavidBlodgett I did! :D I'd love to have flooring like that for my garage. I move next month so I'm getting ideas put together. I'll have to check for cheaper brands lol
If you dont mind me asking.. this is my first time seeing one of your videos...
What brand of bikes do you prefer? im planning on making bicycling a main form of cardio, cause it gets me out of the house!
Also great job with the editing! it looks very much like a seasoned RUclipsr!!!
SUBBED!
For Mountain biking I love YT and Canyon. Have had mine for 3 years now and it rides like its new. Thank you ! I do a lot of documentary and video work for other youtube channels and brands so my channel is just for fun.
Good job! Hello from Russia!
Im thinking about doing this with my parents guarge as im not able to live alone but still want to have my own space do you have any insulation tips for the doors so that i could keep and use them during the summer but also not have small breezes?
Im in the same boat. I used this insulation kit on the garage door amzn.to/3H9Yl5X but I also have the A/C connected to the garage.
nice 👍
thank you :)
Cuban coffee my friend 🎉good job
Always the right move
SUBBED JUST bc of this vid
Thank you man! I got a few documentaries coming out on this channel in the pipeline.
to anyone watching: do not fuck around with garage doors. especially if they have a spring in them, there's enough tension in the spring that as you saw towards the end, it can launch things (and itself) and is dangerous enough to lacerate and kill you just from popping out.
they are stupidly fucking dangerous to DIY with. it's the best couple hundred you'll ever spend to get someone professional to do it. or amongst the best.
Agreed! that was scary
that face when you removing the screen protector lol
wait i love that desk i need that
I have a video showing you how to build it. ;) check it out
What paint was used to do the garage door railing? Didn’t see it in the list
Behr Premium Plus Exterior Flat Deep Base 4300 (Black)
wowww awesome
Americans really love their garages it seems like it haha good work
We do! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
How is no one mentioning this man not only went god like on this but also while looking a whole lot like Tom Holland - Spider-Man?! 🤔GG bro!
LOL ive gotten that comparison a bunch and thank you
Next time you stain something, sand with 220 grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain. It'll make the stain look and apply a lot better.
Thank you ! and yes I did that, might've not shown in the video since i started with 80 and worked my way up to 220 for the black bench and for my desk, I just used 220 since it already came sanded at 150.
@@DavidBlodgett Sorry, I meant to say in between coats! Anyways, it was a nice video. Thanks for the reply and I hope you enjoy your new office space!
@@sebbykaiser6466 ohhh yea i did 220 after the first coat, 600 after the 2nd. You can see in my desk build video. Thank you sebby :)
hoping you see this just curious what your speaker setup is for your mac in this video
Im using the KRK G5s
Curious why you chose three coats of oil based poly over spar?
Just watching a bunch of wood worker youtube videos, I saw the most recommended thing to do was use poly. Why do you think spar was a better option?
The floor transformation was intense
Also realized from the entrprnr sticker on the desk who you are. Used to watch those vlogs!
noooooo wayyyy. that is soo cool! yea its been a journey. Sold Entrprnr, started making youtube videos for other brands and now I started my own channel. I'm determined to do clothing again. This video was just for fun and to teach my self davinci resolve, I want this cahnnel to focus on short documentaries. Much love Aleesha!
Those videos hands down were the most inspiring thing to me as a young business owner. Keep killin it!
was the curve on the table for design purpose?
Ha! It was actually a mess up when we cut it to size. But I ended up liking it because it kinda looks like a live edge.
If I ever get a house, I want to do the same thing, but with 3D printing, and a mini-split. I would need a 3 car garage, since I'd still like to store at least my car inside, so I'd also have to build a wall.
Sounds like the start of a great youtube video
WHAT WAS THE SONG DURING THE LUXURY WORK BENCH PART I NEED TO KNOW
How I feel by Jawberry
what a cool project! but is it cold in the garage on winter?
I live in Miami, so I look forward to the winters. Also Have an A/C vent connected to the garage
Wow, do you have a Polygon Siskiu?
Yes sirrr.
dat is pretty great result, but why the hue was included in the total budget of 7000$, but the apple studio display is skipped? :)
Good question, I guess because I already had the monitor and computer. And lights really do transform the space and add to the renovation of a room.
@@DavidBlodgett but why then u show the unpacking of a brand new apple studio display? like a macbook, speakers and ur other equipment, u just put them on the table or the racks (w/o boxes), but there are shots with the brand new apple box and with the brand new screen cover peeled off :)
if the video is called like 10k renovation, it would still be the good stuff on the same scale. Understand me right pls, it is just the box and the screen cover, not the display itself. It looks brand new in the shot and was not included in total budget like all other brand new things.
No offense, the job is great
Thought I recognised the garage from the clothing brand ENTRPRNR remember seeing your how to start a clothing brand! LOving this content. what happened to the clothing brand?
you found me! Sold the company back in 2018, focused on filming for a few years and now back at for a media brand, maybe clothes again later
