Thanks for watching!
Dude, you already had a fishhook. There was line in the lake hut. You can craft tackle anywhere. You bust the ice fishing hole with your knife and fish until the line snaps. Probably get 2 or 3 fish. Stove in the hut. You're all set...lol
A line is one of the first things he found in the prison. I guess Glock is just one of those guys that really doesn't like fish and forgets that it is even an option to eat fish in games..
There's a Hacksaw underneath the shelf in the cabin you finished at. Also you can gather multiple torches from a campfire, extinguish them, and save them for later. With those torches, when the one you're holding starts to run out you can throw the lit torch on the ground before it burns out, equip another torch, and light it using the torch on the ground to travel further with them.
Thats a great tip that i wasnt aware of either. (TBF, Ive only played the game a few times) But thats awesome to know now. 👍
Watching Glock fumble his way through this game is both hilarious and yet eye twitch inducing all at the same time 😂
I just hope he doesn't follow the road into the bear.
I agree. I don't know if I want to watch or not.
He has a nice Glock too
yes I agree on the one hand I love it and I am amused... on the other hand it hurts watching him :D
@@dethwisper It's like watching a driver on the road that you know will cause an accident, yet you can't stop watching.
Leaves blackrock because it's too difficult. Immediately goes to timberwolf mountain. Gotta love blind playthroughs
Just kidding although my first thought of a comment to reply to this comment was... It's totally safe much safer than mountain town right XD
I'm hoping when the channel producer exits the cave if they do which I think they will that they had to the left instead of going forward or to the right. My current run I chose for the first time to go directly forward and it took like three times longer to get everything in that zone.
Apologies for the long comment here if you're still reading but thank you for your comment it gave a good smile like thank you!
Ikr? I was thinking, "Doesn't...Blackrock...empty into Timberwolf Mountain? This, to me, does not seem like much of an improvement."
TWM doesn't really bother me that much anymore...although I DID take a wrong turn there during a blizzard at night (definitely not recommended) in my last playthrough and ended up walking into the bear cave under Echo Peak. Oops.
his play through here keeps making my brain scream NOOOOOOOOOO STOP NOOOO STOOOOOOP NOOOOO NO NO. and i love it.
That's what's known as a G9 experience lol
Especially when hes wasting wood for fire
Hi everyone. Sadly last week we lost Thick 44 of Neebs Gaming to cancer. When Tony first got it Glock here put the word out so I checked them out and wow these guys are funny and play off each other very well I easily have a couple of hundreds of hours watching. Ive only been playing TLD for a couple of months and am really enjoying G9 as a noob here compared to his expertise in 7 Days. His New Jersey attitude is very funny So a big thanks to Glock for not only his excellent content but also Tonys and Neebs Gaming stuff too. My advice on this game comes from real life and hiking camping in the back country. Check your back pack before you head and decide what you need and more important what you dont. RIP Thick you are already being missed.
Glock, did you know that you could put out your torch and re-light it later when you need it?
even pull several torches from the same fire, so you have another one to light when the first one goes out.
@@Firebuck It was a few sessions before I accidentally worked that out myself.
PRO GAMER MOVE!
Or just use the damn lantern that’s already in your backpack…and stop using the lantern fuel to start fires!
@@woebringer7884 Watching this would teach some low survivability TLD game play.
This game is great! My question for you Glock9 is, if you had a lantern, why did you fumble around in the dark looking for wood in the cave. You could have just strolled through it picking items up along the way. haha. Love the series so far!
OMG I know right. It is almost painful to watch him fumble in this game.
For the suspense, I guess!
I like that he kept using lantern fuel to start the fire.. I thought it would have been his hint 😅
Watching you use lantern fuel to start a fire to see in the cave and not using the lantern.... I died.
Hey Glock. Worth bearing in mind that if your hunger gauge drops to 0, you don't instantly die. If your condition is 100%, it'll take you 4 in game days with zero food to starve to death. The fatigue debuff is certainly an added danger, however.
I remember the meta used to be, or maybe still is to constantly be starving and just eat right before you go to sleep
@@TheHamerer Definitely still a very useful tactic when food is low or you want to travel light.
"We've gotta find some food"
...walks out of the ICE FISHING hut
A good strategy is to pull out several torches from a fire and extinguish some. When a lit torch gets low, throw it on the ground and light a new torch with it.
Also, a main benefit of tea is that it can be heated and re-heated. If drank hot, you gain temperature and a buff that slows temperature loss.
Please make a t-shirt with an adorable rabbit on it that says “Snappity Snap!” Please! 😂
The way you go through firewood so carelessly is the funniest part of this series
32:03 then FISH! You’ve got the hook and line. Omg, Glock you’d never survive in the real world lol
You can carry more then one torch at a time. You can also make a snow shelter too out of cloth and sticks. I just don't remember how many of each that you need to make it.
5 cloths and like 14 sticks or so... he probably does not have cloth, though...?
Not sure if you know this but... remaining durability of clothing affects its stats, like if repaired fully the mittens would have definitely been better than the driving gloves. Not sure if you had a starting repair kit... it happens sometimes, regardless they're light and good to hold onto at first.
Some advice: It's worth keeping in mind that you can harvest some items. Let's say you'd like to start a fire but you're out of tinder. If you have a torch (ruined or otherwise) you can harvest it for 1 stick. Then you can harvest the stick for tinder. Also, old man's beard can be taken from trees and you can combine 3 to make a wound dressing. They are lighter to carry then bottles of antiseptic. A good thing to remember is you should eat low condition foods before you sleep. If they make you sick you'll need 10 hours rest but since you're already going to bed it helps.
If I think of more I'll add them but this game is best experienced by making mistakes and learning from them. I have over 1,500 hours in it and I still learn things.
But if you are sleeping with food poisoning you don’t gain health back
@@rhuarkk2138 Yeah, there's absolutely a trade off but you'll have to weigh those options as each situation happens. That's a good point though. Also, having mushroom tea or antibiotics is great too if you do get food poisoning.
One tip for you Glock, Crouching in Stalker is your best friend, crouch up to rabbits or crouch past wolves, yes its slow but it can and will save your life.
The greatest creator playing one of the greatest survival games 🙌
When you have a fire you should take as many torches as you can get out of it. You pull a torch out of the fire and put it out in the snow. Then grab another and do it again. You can have plenty of torches that way while you walk. You can light the next torch with the one that is going out as well, so continuous torch burning as long as a strong wind doesn't put it out.
Whenever you leave a fire and don't plan to return to it, you can loot it for torches (and extinguish them) to recover the fuel you spent in the fire. Later you can use the extinguished torches to navigate dark areas, by lighting the torches off each other on the ground.
Rather than leaving that fire to just burn out, if you take multiple torches then you can extinguish them, and save them for later. Then when your torch is about to go out, you can throw it on the floor and light another one from it. That way you always have a burning torch in your hand which you can use to fend off wolves and to light fires.
Loving this series, only 2 have done this game without me wanting to place blasting caps in my mouth and slamming my head off a wall ! Neebs gaming and now you.
Awesome to see you play this game. I forgot what a struggle it is the first time, especially when you have no idea where you're going. Not sure if you've found fishing hooks, but if you did - it's way easier fishing than hunting rabbits with stones. It takes a bit longer but still...
“Fucking stalks” is something that I never knew I would find funny XD
You can take multiple torches out of a fire. Put them out right away and keep them. Keep the last one lit. Just before it goes out you can light one of the ones you put out earlier.
You have hook & line and a knife, you should be able to break up the ice hole (ha) in the ice house to catch fish.
you should totally put together a hook and line and then go fishing in that little shack on the lake. Now that you have a knife you can open up the ice hole and fish through it. You don't need bait and you can catch oodles of fish.
Pick up those notes! They don't go in inventory, but they do give you map hints
I hope this series is popular enough that you play on interloper, no need to fiddle with loot when you don't have any.
Timberwolf Mountain region has only one cabin and you're in it. A plane crashed there though, and as a result there are several cargo containers strewn around the region. Head right out of your cabin door and keep going... you'll find a couple of the containers (need hacksaw to open them). Or head left out of your cabin door and keep going, and you'll find the rope climb down out of TM region and into Pleasant Valley which you will find a bit easier to survive in. This is an awesome game, I've been playing it for years. I hope you're enjoying it.
The backseating on this game is crazy 🤣 glad I've never played it so I still have the illusion that glock is killing it
Glock forgets he has a torch. And a fishing line and hook. Decides to strike out somewhere else crazy, let's just run - Lives- sounds like Glock. Love it!
Love this series! Hope it stays around for a while. Thanks, man!!
When you grab a torch out of the fire, pick up multiple ones and douse them, except for one, of course
You have a line and a hook and can craft a fishing lure to use in the shack! Also space bar to pull up the radial and you can equip stuff way faster in times of emergency!
Figured out I can craft the fishing tackle after recording this episode and going through my inventory, so that'll be in tomorrow's episode.
@@Glock9 sick, really glad you started this series! Got the game like 10 minutes after watching the first episode and it’s like they turned the first hour of getting started in a new save on 7 days into a game and honestly it’s a vibe
Keep your cloths repaired for a better warmth bonus. If you don't have a sewing kit you can use a fish hook and cured guts for thread, so harvesting guts from those dead animals is good thing. Down side is it takes about 5 days to cure them.
A hacksaw was on the floor and you have everything that you can use for fishing!
I love this game. Few tips for you, you can take a torch extinguish it put it away and take another torch, you can take 1 torch for every 10 minutes on your fire, they will randomly be 20-50% no matter how hot the fire. when one torch gets low drop it and light a new one from the one you just dropped. Also if you can avoid starvation for 3 days straight you get more carry weight. Good luck!
take multiple torches from the fire, extinguish them and put em in inventory you can relight them later
the thing that got me is when he opened the lantern and used to fuel to light the campfire. ^^;;;
U can cancel the action of drinking/eating just to get a decent amount instead of consuming the entire item.
Also u can get ridiculously close to rabbits if you crouch and creep up on them
You can take multiple torches out of fire and sniff them out to carry them with you. Just light them as needed
Since you talked about them in the past and since thick died, I went over to show neebs and friends some love. Those guys are f****** hilarious. Sorry your friend died,Great video Glock
The cabin at the lake is at the bottom of the mountain. The top of the mountain has a plane crash with a lot of good loot. I think you need a hacksaw though.
Love watching you play. But, you are waiting so much food... Helps to starve yourself at first, then get what calories you need to sleep/heal (or when you need to climb or.. run!!). Sure you don't that buff for a bit, really helps manage food in the beginning. I'm sure someone mentioned it already, haha.
(Edit: with my current play you inspired, found you can now make 'improvised crampons', to help climb ropes and steep inclines. Easy to make!)
It's fun watching someone discover and experience the game for the first time, hope you keep this series going.
glock you should take more torches off of the fire, instea of 1 torch take as many as you can until the fire goes out if your gonna leave it for good, then you can get charcoal from it too for maps
PRO TIP: Be starving all the time. Seriously, this is a game changer. Even if your hunger is red all day long, your health will drain by like 1 pixel per hour. It's nothing. Then eat food right before you sleep, and only eat enough calories to be fed for the number of hours you plan to sleep. As long as your food and water are up while you sleep you will regain your health back to full. This strategy saves you a TON of food, because as your hunger sits at zero your need for food doesn't build up beyond that.
I am liking the change from zombie survival to wilderness survival.
Kinda helps im a decent hiker and camper.
The constant threat of hypothermia is cool.
Glock you can fish in the shack with your string and hook you have. Fish gives you decent food
Fishing hook in the little cabin...rabbit guts fishing line
Very funny to watch Glock leave behind a trail of fires that burn for many hours after he leaves lol
From the front door of that cabin, turn left and head straight. Once you find the Landing Gear point, a bit forward-left from it leads to Pleasant Valley (as the name implies, a fairly nice place to live). Edit: when I say 'from the front door' I mean if you're inside the house facing outward, hang a left.
When you get to a cave, pick a direction to turn, right or left and always turn that way. Never go right left, right left. You'll get lost.
Would love to see this series more often
Loving this series so far hope it goes on for a while!
Glock buddy, there is a hook and line in the fishing shack. Break the ice and spend an hour or two fishing. Fish are better than rabbit, they don't run away.
Just FYI in this game up is not necessarily North on the map. If you take a stick and drop it on the ground the stick will always point North and South.
Remember that tea hydrates you, don't need to drink the boiled water to top off first
Pull multiple torches from a fire, douse them and keep them in your inventory :)
Glock has been dealing with bears for so long when he sees one he just yawns.
As a bit of a veteran of the game, it's awesome to see Glock making his way through the landscape. The game simply wants to kill you whether that's slowly via starvation or quickly with a wolf/bear/moose. It's a brutal love affair I have with this game.
you can wrap cloth on that torch and add fuel for it to last longer
33:24 aw oh no lmaoo its lil face
"I slept for two hours, I wasn't planning on doing that" holy shit does that comment sound like my inner monologue everytime I lay down on the couch for "five minutes"
@33:11 No, you need to go fishing in the ice fishing shack, with your fishing hook and fishing line...
I’m so excited for this series
Who you telling !!! cant wait to see how this series go
I live in the county that the Crystal Lake/Vorhees legend comes from, Camp Crystal no longer exists.
You know I really enjoy your 7DtD series cause you know what you're doing there. I don't find blind playthroughs as enjoyable. However it is also nice to see new a series too.
You people better react and support this series! I love the long dark and i would like to see more of it from Glock9
Watching Glock learn and die would be really fun and a great series. I'm afraid that he will get bored there is such a difference with 7d2d. But listening to him talk about the situation he's in and what he does . . . it would be a great series. So I'm hoping he falls in love with the game and keeps coming back for more. It would be very entertaining.
Lol used all your lamp fuel for a torch and not your lantern I was screaming at the screen "use your lantern bro!!!"
Really enjoying this series
I picked up this game recently. Mostly due to the Neebs gaming series. First run I died after 2 days from 2 wolves. I feel I'm way to passive and bad weight management. Still interesting game and it is entertaining to watch.
Will the Long Dark finally tame Glock's play style of throwing caution to the wind?
Probably not, though it's fun watching.
(Been a while since I've played but I think you can break down ruined torches for a stick)
Was at a fishing hole with line provided and decided to chase a rabbit with a rock😂😂
I've seen this game, never played it. Love glock playing it. I dont know about survival expert, but man its entertaining
You have a fishing line and hook, and you choose to throw rocks at rabbits next to a fishing hut? lol
Having started this game over the summer I see the mistakes and knowing I had made the same mistakes when I started.
When you die being new to the game try starting in mountain town (milton) it is a good beginner starting point.
Now if that was a chicken Glock could snipe it from across the map blind folded.
Hey Glock, maybe try saving a few bits of firewood and coal for later. May make things a little easier.
Loving the series so far, keep up the good work.
Jersey boy in the Canadian wilderness! What could go wrong?
You have a hook and line, you can fish at that cabin Glock.
"Stupid wolves, cant climb a rope!" Yea, get some opposable thumbs why dont ya!?
Glock did you know you have a hook and a fishing line was right there. The hole to ice fish was there also
Another great video, keep it up! Excited for this new series!!
I have been fascinated with this game because it does not have an endgame point in which you are rescues, you just get time for how long you last in the game.
While cooking you could read it also passes time
LOVE THESE EPASODES KEEP THEM COMING!
Grab like 8 torches at a time from your fires and just use the torches to light more torches when they get low. No sense wasting all that firewood by grabbing a single torch at a time. And harvest your burnt out torches for sticks.
wow this gonna be tough, you are kind stuck up in the north east corner of the map. difficulty is scaled by how many locations, how much resources, n enemy spawns, so you can give numbers 1 being the easiest n 3 being the hardest to each region
blackrock (2) connects to Timberwolf mountain (3) n pleasant vally (3). timberwolf mountain connects to pleasant valley and ash canyon (3).
to get out of blackrock and timberwolf mountain you have to go SOUTH.
from blackrock to timberwolf is EAST, from timberwolf to ash canyon is NORTH. so go SOUTH
so once you are in pleasant valley you can go west (the entry way is a bit south then west) to go to a much easier zone, Mystery lake, or you can go southwest which is Bleak inlet which is coastal so the temps lower bc of wind n tons of wolves. if you to south west you will find coastal highway which has a TON of resources BUT more wolves n bears (kinda high risk high reward area. after at coastal highway if you continue SW you will reach desolation point which does have much besides enemies n is kinda the end of the map.
i kinda feel like you should loot coastal highway then go back north n continue west
Glock you gotta start grabbing more torches from your fires. They can be lit with matches remember
You can drop all your stuff off in the hut. The you can come back for it later and won’t be encumbered
You have a hook and line, go fishing!
Love the videos
Hunting rabbits with stones is a lesson in madness.
Hey, Glock! Good morning. Since The Last of Us is everything right now, have you considered playing the first game on your channel? Lots of people have not seen the original gameplay for a long time, and TLOU is on everyone's radar these days. I would imagine that would increase your view count and follower count. Been subbed for a few years and still don't understand why you're not at a mil by now. You're awesome.
This is great. I picked up the game because of these videos and am loving it.
I love your rabbit kill. Ir reminds me of the rabbit kill from last of us 2
So Glock, you know you got a quick inventory radial menu if you hold down the "space bar" right, might be something to consider for the future, also you can harvest animal carcasses with the hacksaw, heck you can saw down fallen tree limbs for fuel as well, oh and when you hunt rabbits with stones, try crouching and move in close, makes it easier to hit.
