  • Alexander Linkowski detransitioned after going through with "bottom surgery" (trans vaginoplasty, otherwise known as penile inversion) and years of taking estrogen. He describes his feelings of instant regret after the surgery, during which his rectum was cut, causing excruciating and lasting pain. He also discusses the complications he has dealt with as a result of medical transition, what it was like growing up as a gay boy in conservative Poland, his reasons for transitioning, and his take on gender dysphoria and transition in general.

I would love it if you could ask Alexander to identify just what aspects of Catholicism caused him shame? Catholicism says to *ALL* people that sodomy is a sin - heterosexual or homosexual. Why? It's because it threatened the healthy procreation of our race (a short bit of a much bigger explanation). They say marriage is between a man and a woman as modeled by the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, because the healthy, long term survival of the human race depends upon stable marriages, natural procreating and raising children in stable homes. Look at what's happened in China & India after decades of interfering with natural procreation.
So, I'm no longer tolerant of someone carelessly throwing out irresponsible statements blaming anything on just, *"Catholic Guilt."*
Alexander's condition seems MUCH more heavily affected by social pressure, low self-esteem and lack of family support. His 11-hour a day obsession with masturbation is blatantly a mental and physical problem that required medical intervention that it appears he never got.
Alexander also seems to mask basic insecurity within lofty, philosophical concepts. It's not a complex, nuanced difficult issue. Had Alexander felt confident in who he was, he would not have had to stay, "in the closet" and he would have been able to speak with the people who could've helped him. It's not how his brain works - it's how HE works.
Unfortunately, if Alexander hadn't had the financial ability to move about different countries and especially pay for whatever surgeries,l he wanted, I'm willing to bet he would've *OUTGROWN* his confused feelings and landed on his feet as secure man, attracted to whomever he was attracted, WITHOUT guilt.
I will pray for Alexander that he finds peace and happiness in his life. I hope he helps many others facing similar gender confusion and considering such barbaric surgeries. But please stop blaming Catholicism. God loves us all, EXACTLY how He made us. Sure, there will always be weak or corrupt individuals in ANY organization, religious or otherwise, that will make some people feel shame or unwelcome . . . *BUT* the MAJORITY are not that way. They will love and support and welcome those who simply want to love God. Remember too that satan is FERVENTLY attacking the Catholic Church, doing his hardest to spread hate and prejudice against Catholicism BECAUSE the Catholic are the one, true Church for EVERYBODY that was started by the Apostles of Jesus Himself! That is why you hear so much propaganda against Catholicism. Don't be a stooge for satan!
      God bless Alexander and yourself.

At one time - late 1800’s - women who experienced anxiety were treated by doctors removing their ovaries. This was a time when women didn’t have the vote, rarely were able to work outside the home. Rather than broadening their opportunities in the world, they sterilized them, eliminating all hormones. (Dr. Bucke, a friend of gay poet Walt Whitman, did this regularly - including to his own wife.)

    • @ojololo
      @ojololo 3 месяца назад +28

I think banning it isn't a solution. I would suggest rather putting more gatekeeping in place because trans surgeries do actually help some trans people to live their life but there are too many detransitioners to keep this policy as is. Going from one "Let's give everyone surgery who think they are trans" to "Let's ban trans surgeries all together" is not a solution and it certainly doesn't help people with real dysphoria. But first and foremost; psychotherapy must be more available for people to try to come to terms with their sex.
Also sex education should focus more to the fact that we are all individuals and there are all sorts of men and women between masculinity and femininity and those traits don't mean you are something else than you were born as. There are too many transitioners who are just feminine men or masculine women and/or even gays and lesbians and later regret ever going to treatment thus deciding to detransition or desist.

@@ojololo I think if they just went back to insurance not covering elective surgeries like this, the problem would mostly take care of itself. People would be forced to think very carefully about all this as they save up for their surgeries, as in the past, when you also had to usually travel overseas. The whole reason they always claim that people will kill themselves if they don't get these surgeries is so they can get past the insurance, which doesn't pay for these kinds of surgeries unless necessary to save somebody's life.

As an older man who went through an undetermined phase during adolescence (spontaneous growth of tits and delusional ideas about my gender) I can tell you what's different Between the1970s and now is
    1) boys were educated in the idea that one should master his body and impulses by his intellect. If you play with your noodle 12/24 it's not a urges issues. It's a self control issue. All adolescent boys would gladly spend the day pleasing themselves.
    2) there were no confusion concerning what was possible and what was delusional. You can't change your gender, it's purely esthetical. There is no functionality after those surgeries. Fake boobs don't produce milk. Fake bags are not reproductive and do not even function like the read dead for pleasure.
Those interventions were depicted as what they are : cas_tra_tion
    3) instinct of self preservation has disappeared. That's not just a genders issue. Tattoos, travels in dangerous parts of the world, extreme sports, acceptance of experimental mRNA treatments, self driving cars, people struggle to evaluate risks those days.
If you don't behave like there is no tomorrow you are uncool.
This all points to endoctrination and political correctness. When you don't develop self awareness but rather try to conform to social pressure you end up depriving yourself from the correct tools to assess situations.

As an older person (woman) who fell for a lot of the social feminist pressures of the 1970s, I agree. We should start raising kids that broader society, and most individuals don't give "two cents" about you as an individual. Close family are the most likely to care about you long term. And maybe a few close friends you make. Having made divorce so 'easy' society discourages commitment for life to a 'life partner' and eroded the concept of life friendships. All for power, control, and wealth (more dollars) for those in the upper "class".

I believe those "in charge" of our world want a domesticated species of human that will tolerate any indignity. Yes, there is a deeper issue going on, but the internet is absolutely affirming these destructive thoughts. By the time your parents took your access away, the mindset was already deeply embedded within you. It’s like turning off a horror flick after you’ve already watched the murder scene- you can’t magically turn back time; the imagery stays with you.
It also doesn’t help that society is pushing this message that attempting to change your biology is “courageous” rather than a well established form of self-harm. We have outlawed the medical profession’s ability to tell a patient that their desire to do so is indicative of a mental illness and that this destructive thought pattern needs to be properly addressed before lobbing off healthy body parts. Afterall, you said yourself, your thinking was hurting you. That is the very definition of poor mental health, no matter how we may frame that desire today; and yet, we are not “allowed” to talk about it anymore. It’s not surprise that with these limitations on speaking truth, the age-old “grass is greener on the other side” delusion convinced you that what you wanted could actually come to be, and that all your dreams would magically come true.
If I haven’t been clear enough, let me say that, unequivocally, I despise what the doctors did to you. They sold you an impossible dream, and then blamed you when their conveniently profitable “solution” did not work. But I also fear that you are still living in the dream world by telling yourself that one day this will be possible. Said with all the love in the world: No, it will not. The same way we can not “create” a bird, or a fish, or a moon rock, we can not “create” human beings of any kind or inclinations. Learning to accept this truth is a step toward complete and genuine freedom. Like the alcoholic mantra, “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference;” - true peace starts with accepting our place in the cosmos and accede to our own limitations, even if the truth is not what we wish it to be. We must have faith that the builder knew exactly what he was creating and for what purpose, even when we don’t fully understand why.

As a person interviewed in this video, I have to disagree with you on one thing regarding whether this will be a possibility one day. I find it surprising how many people say with certainty that something that is technologically plausible will never be possible. It's like someone 300 years ago saying it will never be possible to travel from Europe to east Asia in 10 hours. We have no epistemic access to the future but considering the growing acceleration of technological and medical progress, it seems strange to me to be 100% certain that we can never achieve this.
I have an impression that a lot of people here believe that I'm saying this because that is something I would like to go through or dream about it. No, I'm happy being a man. I think that's the moral of the story here. My interest in this comes only from the perspective of someone who works with philosophy of technology.

There are four weeks in a month, one of those weeks are spent having a period. The week before that is spent building up to getting the period, so I'm emotional, cranky, weepy and unstable. Then the remaining two weeks of the month, I'm feeling okay and just the normal levels of emotional. I’ve suspected for some time now that much of the trans phenomenon, in addition to involving social contagion, involves a deeper contempt for, disgust with, etc human, biological limitations in general, including mortality. When humans don’t have healthy ways of coming to terms with these limitations, whether that’s with religious and spiritual belief and practice or even secular, cultural methods of recognizing them and integrating and accepting them, they may start to drive people crazy. He touches on this first thing in this interview, that a general, persistent dissatisfaction and disgust with his own biology and being bound to and limited by biology preceded a more specific gender/sex dysphoria. At the risk of sounding like a committed Jungian (which I’m not necessarily), there may really be something to the idea that transcendence of the sex binary is associated in the psychology of humans with transcending human limitation and becoming more godlike.
    Edit:
And in the comments I see that the guest is calling himself a “radical transhumanist”, which checks out.

I personally grew up in a small town, and I had such a hard time just accepting myself as gay that I didn't even confront it until my mid 20s. Back then the trans thing wasn't even a thing, but had it been, it would have made things even more confusing. You manage to find some very well spoken people, and people who just went through some utter horror in life, who by all means should not need to explain themselves to anyone who likely would never appear on other channels who do similar interviews. And you speak to these people in such an easy and understanding way. No overbearing loud voice, no trying to force any topics for any reason, and being truly respectful to the emotions, feelings and experiences of the people who are finally willing to actually speak about these things to a large audience. That takes some real courage from these people to do. Keep doing these interviews Sasha. The surgeons are not allowed to question the “realness” of transgender thoughts and feelings. It is a crime to suggest that a persons trans feeling are a mental health condition. The surgeons are being forced by trans activists lawyers to do what the patient asks of them. Who are they to question your feelings? They are no longer allowed to say “No” to a request for surgery as far as they see it. They dont want the patient to feel “unheard”. perhaps patients need to be less judgmental, and kinder to those surgeons who are simply doing what you ask of them. Try being less judgmental.

He doesn't look or sound too effeminate Infact he is very attractive
Body parts are there for a reason and the body a complex and amazing system which should not be messed with
Definately there should be more councelling and exposure to case studies such as his to make these drastic alternatives less attractive and the possible negative repercussions known before it is irreversible
There is a lot to be said about being healthy and functional None of us I am sure are completely happy with what we are dealt but the old sayings be careful what you wish for and things could be a lot worse come to mind

This, too, is delusional thinking. You have to change a person’s chromosomes/dna in order to change their gender. Changing chromosomes/dna would make you an entirely different person. It’s not possible to remain you. YOU would seize to exist. A new person would REPLACE you. Remember, you would have to get the opposite chromosomes/dna from somewhere. They won’t come from you, they’ll be donor. But, they won’t be you at that point.
You cannot change a fish into a bird. Only God can do that and you are a humanist. Therefore, not possible. Not even in the future.

    • @alexanderl9721
      @alexanderl9721 3 месяца назад

@@elizabethtovar3603There is no concluding evidence that the continuity of one's conscious identity is tied to one's DNA. It is a phenomenal process kickstarted once the brain starts to produce the electromagnetic discharge current. Post-natal changes on a chromosomal level won't necessarily disrupt the conscious experience. We are more than our DNA. Besides, post-natal gene therapy is already happening. We are able to replace parts of our dna without damaging the whole structure. If everyone thought "only god can do this" no progress would ever be made. A more interesting question to ask is whether chromosomal changes would in any way relieve the patient from the dysphoria. Hardly anyone feels dysphoria towards their chromosomes since we are so removed from them on a personal level.

I am sorry about Alexander's experience; much of it was self-imduced as he was persistent in his belief in front if evert practitioner he met; he didn't listen to his own intuitive self-talk, if he had he would have been truthful and disclosed his inner turmoil, hesitency, and significant self-doubt. Agsin, I am very sorry, especially regarding the psychological outcome and that of the surgery.
To always jump at opportunity to blame the practitioner is deceptive, as choice is the option allowed to client
To say that money is always at the root of this is not entirely tru, if it was the therapists and Psychologists would have convinced him to continue therapy for as long as possible; they don't make money on clients they no longer have. With the amount of information available and the ease in which research will provide answers these days, makes it almost an assumption, that people are well informed, especially in relation to something so serioue as altering one's body.
It was fairly difficult to find honest research and outcome testimonies in the 1990's and early to late 2000's when I transitioned, but not impossible.
I too had surgery done in Bangkok, probably the same place? It doesn't sound like it though from his story. Where I went the nursing staff were outstanding in their care and compassion, the surgeon too extended that same ethos; the hospital experience was professional, and I was not discharged before I could prove my bladder-urinary tract functioned normally; I was, per facility recommendation, there for one month so as to allow for regular checkups. Post-Surgery, for me, was uncomplicated and with marginal, non-critical pain.
I just want you audience to know, Alexander's story is not everyone's story. I benefitted, Alexander didn't; but that was evident at nearly the beginning of his journey, as he admits now, and very late. His is a valuable lesson for those who are thinking, of a certainty, that they are suffering from Gender Dysphoria rather than Gender Dysmorphia and maybe some degree of Autogynophelia.
This is a very worthwhile interview, but again, I hope you and your audience don't think that all transitions are equal and that some actually benefit, psychologically, from the transition. Is it an absolute cure? No. But it is another step in one's life toward self-improvement, for a very small number of people.
    Thank You Both

First and foremost, I'm happy to hear he's doing well but I'm a little disturbed at his thought that penetration is overrated. I realize the pain and suffering he's been through and like he has said in the video he doesn't like to be touched down there so I can understand his thoughts on that subject. But, with that said his partners may not agree with a non-penetrating lifestyle as he may be experiencing with that pushback. It's going to take years of healing emotionally and physically from what he's been through, and I wish him all the best.

Hi. Yeah, you're right. Partners will not always agree with that lifestyle. The key is finding someone who is ok with that (not everyone likes or saves penetrative, whether giving or reciving) or even better, finding someone who's OK with getting their intimate needs met elsewhere. I'm not monogamous so it's not an issue to me.

As soon as medical transitions starts, the money stays pouring in, often for decades. How is it possible none of these patients have realized WHY they are pushed so hard to transition by the medical establishment? Hospitals are a BUSINESS. They are ran by administrators, not doctors.
A typical bottom surgery for female to male costs 500K plus, due to all of the complications post surgery. It’s not uncommon for one phalloplasty to bring in 1 million dollars in the 3 years post surgery.
The surgeons are getting PAID. They are buying yachts by sterilizing you for life. Elective surgery is the best surgery. Everyone gets rich. The money is astronomical.
The biggest pushers for these medical interventions are large corporate hospital administrators. That alone should be a red flag.
The entire system is taking advantage of vulnerable young people with obvious mental health issues, and using politics as a means of avoiding responsibility or repercussions for their evil.

The social contagion part IS important. Even though he had dysphoria the internet absolutely plays a role in encouragement and the idea of acceptance. The need to accept his own self instead of erase himself to become something else needed to be discussed with a therapist (not an affirming one) and he already admits he had made up his mind and didnt want his mind to be changed despite it being very detrimental. I do agree itnisnt ONLY the internet of course, I dont agree that it isnt a factor for the many who weren't gender dysphoric before they determined they want to be called *trans*...really interesting experience to hear, thank you for speaking about it.
