I have seen this effect on your other videos for Tella with Picture in Picture, and also on other creators channels (like "Popcorn in Bed"-movie reactions), and wondered how this was done. Now I know! Also it is great it is available on Windows and Mac. While Tella is native to Mac, in Windows you can use on the web browser and log on to edit. Thanks for this review! I have already learned so much new stuff in your Crush It videos in last 2 days its amazing! More new software out there to use for productivity. Also today I bought your 30 day Thriving on RUclips courses. Money well spent. I look forward to it and excited to learn!
I’ve also been recording my videos the “regular” way (face and screen at the same time) and then editing them to look like the Tella layouts because they look so polished. Welcome to 30 Days to a Thriving RUclips channel!
@@meredithmarsh Thanks for that tip. I could mimic the Tella style also in either Vegas Pro or Premiere depending on which I use more, as both offer picture in picture (rounded corners on video PIP, outlines) and tracks. If I decide to work with Premiere Gal plug in for effects and animated text, eventually, I may try out the monthly Premiere license. The templates in Tella do look good in style, but you are right they could be created in other advanced programs.
@@meredithmarsh No more Screenflow for screen recording then? Is Tella really that much better than Screenflow?? I hear many people moving to Capcut web version..... ditching Premiere and FCPX
I am binge watching your videos Meredith! Amazing content 👍🏻 One question please: does Tella have a retouch appearance feature (something like smoothing skin), if not, any suggestions for screen recording softwares that do?! Thank you very much
Awesome! Thanks for watching! Tella doesn't appear to having any skin smoothing capabilities and I'm not sure of any that do (at least not that I know of!)
Here's how I do it. 1) duplicate each clip and adjust the layout so clip A has my screen and clip B has my face. When exporting choose the option for each clip to be exported as it's own file. or 2) edit the whole thing in tella with your screen, then export, duplicate the entire project to a new video, adjust layout so it's just your face, export again.
I just got the trial version, but I'm not seeing some of the full version stuff I'm seeing in this video. Also, If I have my own videos I would like to review already on my lap top how do I record myself watching those videos in Tella? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. 🤔 Please help😀👍🏾.
so can I go back and forth between my full face and full screen of a presentation aka recording my full screen and face at the same time and then just editing certain parts to just my camera and other parts just to the slides?
Gosh if you ever wonder if your frame work works...it does. You mentioned Tella in the Best and Worst Screen Recording Apps, and then I'm like hmm let me search for a demo on it... lol... boom here you are...nice work.
Interesting. Always on the lookout for a good screen recording app, as it is I'm just using Quicktime (and spend tons of time in the edit 😅) Audio was a bit dodgy at times, is it trying to do some automatic dodging / noise-cancelling..? You sound consistently better in other videos 😄
Yeah I noticed the audio was weird in some places. I think when I was playing the video the sound was coming through and messing things up for my recording. Or it might be glitchy since I was recording two things at once.
Looks perfect for "Talking Head Plus" videos and at $11 per month worth it in time savings alone. Do you have your camera set up vertically to extract for shorts? How long have you been using this? It looks like you can get away with using it solo.
I've been using it for the last month or so here and there. I don't set the camera up differently for vertical, it just crops it vertically automatically. It's definitely a great tool! Really easy to make polished videos with it.
just what i was looking for lol i been seeing this screen recording layout lately thanx !
Thanks. I will probably try this
Thank you M.

Thank you for the video. What software are you actually using now? Screenflow? Tella? Descript? iMovie? FCPX? CapCut?
Descript, Tella, and then premiere pro to polish things up.

Why are you using dscript and tella? Are these programs not doing the same thing? Sorry for the confusion @@meredithmarsh why

This video helped me. Thank you
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching.
This is like Canva for screen recording. Aside from the camera, I can really do most things from a Chromebook.

Does this have the option of importing mp3 background music and sound fx, or do you have to use a other editor for that?
You'd have to bring it into another editor for that (which is what I did when I edited this video)
Looks like a pretty good in-browser screen recording program. 👍🏻👍🏻💜👍🏻👍🏻
Yes!
I have dual monitors set up Do you know if this will record both screens at the same time
I'm not sure about that, to be honest. I haven't tried that.
Most browser screen recording will need you to specify the one source of the screen recording. I'll have to test that out 🤔

@meredithmarsh_vidpromom - does it allow you to jump from your face on the screen to the main angle without the screen ?
Yes you can edit it that way
Not going to replace screen flow yet then?
so no editing using text like in Descript? I really don't like timeline editing
I would LOVE to see the transcript while I'm editing as well. That would be huge for Tella! Perhaps in the future :)
Hey Kim, founder of Tella here - we'd love to add transcript editing - it's a pretty popular feature request.
