How would this tool compare to Descript? The layout feature is cool but that is the only feature that seems to be different than most other cheaper tools.
Hi Aurelius, I am considering using Tella to record a course I am creating. I will download each module, preferably on the highest resolution and then upload them to a hosting site. Can I do that on going on the basic plan? Secondly. Is the background to your video your home/office? It is light and basic and not a distraction. I do t think O have the light here for that. Is it possible to download a credible background to the talking head? Not like the Zoom ones though, they are terrible. Kind regards.
Agreed! It instantly makes your videos as if it were edited by a video editing expert. It would take much more effort creating those effects in Premiere Pro or the like.

Can you upload videos to Tella like loom? Also, how's the organization within Tella? Because in Loom I can create different folders to organize my screen recordings.

With the Pro plan you get unlimited recording duration at 30FPS but 5 minutes at 60 FPS video. Unless you are recording action videos or gaming videos you won't need 60 frame per second videos. However, if you do need 60FPS then you have to upgrade to the Premium plan.
can you change the color of the frame? like the bubble or square frame etc. and can the frame have like a motion going around the frame like speaker motions while speaking?? @aureliustjin
For the layout transitions are you able to search the transcript for a keyword to highlight where you want the layout to change e.g. if you say "I'll share my screen" can you search for that phrase then set the transition at that point?

Yes, very navigatable because it’s quite simplistic with minimal bells and whistles. It doesn’t have an AI avatar builder.

What webcam do you recommend for your Macbook Pro ?
Honestly, any 4K web cam would do a great job. Otherwise Opal, Elgato Facecam, and Logitech Brio are the better ones.

Is your web cam usually cropped like that or only when you use Tella? From what I know, you can’t adjust zoom level with Tella.

That can’t be done unfortunately. You can only switch layouts with multi-layouts. You can also reposition the layouts.
