Just about to start a tutorial video but had now idea what software to use. I'm glad my search results brought me here. This video is extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing!
this tutorial has been great! you gave a lot of tips and explained it in a simple and easy to understand manner so that even a complete canva beginner like me can follow along
I still have difficulty in following as my screen does not look the same. In the US - changed from the app to the browser and still cannot find the thnumbnail view, duration I have, no thumbnail to even get to scissors. I love your channel, as I have learned so much. Truly appreciate all you do. You are my go to as an authority as both of you (Diana, too) do the best showings of how to utilize all that Canva offers You two are an inspiration beyond words. Many Blessings. Thank you for doing these.
Thank you dear! Your message truly warms my heart Your screen might look different because you are still on the older version of the Editor... which is OK, nothing to do, just wait for Canva to roll the new one to more users. There should be a little arrow pointing down at the bottom of your screen, to get into thumbnail view.
Very helpful Ronny, I have been trying to find a way to fill the whole screen with my talking head for a long, long time!! Also the tipp about making the head transparent to hear only the voice is really helpful for me! So thank you.
Great video! It would also be great if you could have a live view of your camera in the bubble while doing a live virtual presentation. Thanks for sharing!
This is one of the most helpful Canva tutorials I have come across, so thank you. I am struggling to add a bubble video onto a slide deck that I have already created, while being able to talk through the slides, using the animation feature with the words on the slides. When I only use the "present and record" feature, I lose the ability to increase the size of the video, and with that one, it is tiny. Does your course address this?
Hi Martha, The only way to talk over a presentation and have your talking head in a round bubble is via the "Present and record" feature, indeed. While using this feature, we cannot change the size (nor the position) of that bubble, unfortunatelly. I do have a lecture about Present and record in the Canva Master Course, but I don't think what you are trying to do can be done with that feature.
hi, and thanks for this video. i appreciate it. would you please create another video on how to create a video presentation with slides in canva for video lessons? I don't want to show my face bc it's not important at all, i want to create a 15 min video lesson with multiple written slides that shows statistics and all the main discussion points as I'm talking through the slides in my video lesson. i want to know if Canva can create my slides if I input my written script for this lesson into canva, and I also want to know how can i synchronize my talking pace with every slide. i want to make sure the slides don't move ahead of my speech. this would be a great tutorial not just for me but for any business owner or digital creator who wants to create online programs. thank you so much!
Thanks for the suggestion. Canva has the “Preaent and Record” feature that allows you to record your talking head or voice only and go through your presentation, slide by slide. This works in Presentation documents only ☺️
I was just messing around with this yesterday. However, I had a hard time with a couple things: 1. The record screen option, doesn't record any audio, other than what the mic was picking up. Is there an option to get both the audio from my voice and the audio that's on the screen? 2. There was some limitations on the editing of what was on the screen. I wasn't able to, for instance, blur what was on the screen. I know other programs have these features, but I dont want to open yet another account with another program.
Hey Andy, 1/ that depends on your system setting, you need to figure out how to record audio while screen recording ... it's a bit complex (on a Mac), but I know it's doable. 2/ yeah ... Canva is still not perfect for editing videos ... let's hope they keep improving it 🤞 Thanks for watching
Great video. I have unrelated question with regards to the tool you are using to highlight the sections you are pointing to as well as the curved arrow. Could you share the name of that tool?
Your videos are very helpful. I have one question. When I use the Present and Record feature. The cursor is not visible in the resulting video. I want to keep showing things on the slide with my pointer. How can I do that?
Thank you for the kind words about our content Unfortunately, what you mention is not possible right now in Canva (to highlight the cursor when screen recording). Let's hope they come up with this feature in the near futures 🤞
Great feature, thanks for the video. BUT: I tried to do it myself. I can choose the camera, I can choose the mic, BUT there is not the option above, where I can choose between "Camera", "Camera & Screen" and "Screen". What am I missing??? (I am not from India with perhaps your mentioned restrictions but from Germany).
You could do that after filming, yes. By simply adding that animation or animated graphic near or around your talking bubble on your project (I mean once you’ve left the Recording Studio).
Brilliant tutorial. Really informative and great pace. Is it possible in canva to change my talking head to an avatar or speaking graphic so that I don’t show my face?
Hello, thank you for your amazing video tutorials. Do you maybe have any idea why in the top right corner I only have settings with camera and microphone, I don't have the screen recording option although I have Canva Premium. thank you!
Seems like a lot of us are getting the "Your microphone is being used by another application" when trying to set up the recording. I'm in Windows 11. Gave the in-computer mic every permission I could, drivers updated, still have the problem. No solution found on canva or google. Only one reddit thread that shared the same problem, and no real solution there. Ideas? Really good video - made me a new sub. Thanks!
Sorry you are running into that issue with your mic. Unfortunately I can’t really help with system settings with “looking over your shoulder” 😅 I hope you figure it out ✨
I seem to have the older version. There is no "Record Yourself" button in the Upload section. What kind of a project did you start with? Can the "Record Yourself" button be a different location? Thank you.
Hi Team RonDi, I have a question regarding the features of Canva. Is it possible to display the correct date and time in a video presentation? Specifically, I would like the date and time to be shown correctly from the moment someone starts playing the video. THX and keep up the good work.

Thanks for all those neat tricks, Ronnie! But where is the Thumbnail button? I never saw where you clicked on it. And I don't get a timeline below my attempts at making videos either. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Also, if the video is more than 40 seconds long, the background remover doesn't work and says the clip is too long. Is that normal?

@@TeamRonDi How do you mean? When I open Video on CANVA I don't see anywhere to set up the microphone. I've had my logitec camera set up on the computer and it has always worked with the microphone. But now I get no sound.
@@TeamRonDi 1. How can we switch to the new version of Canva? 2. How can I include more options in the left tool bar? Can’t detach image when talking head is switched to a square instead of circle? 4. THANKS, mucho! 🙏
@@thevickyc1 Usually that happens when you use two separate devices, say a webcam then a different microphone. In that case the video and audio are running from different inputs and those paths in the computer are not always processed equally so audio usually lags the video. If you can it is best to use a single device or some hub that allows both to be plugged into with one connection to the computer. More professional switchers and software have the ability to sync the audio by delaying the video. But I don't think that is a Canva feature. Do a Google search and you'll find more information.
@@TeamRonDi thanks. I want to record myself and the screen while editing the presentation slides, but I can’t seems to do that like you did in your video. When I press record the Canva presentation I’m on goes into show mode only, without the ability to edit it. When I try to use this, it says my camera and mic are being used by another application. I cannot see which! A tad frustrating. I disconnected from USB and reconnected. They are now working but also with terrible lip sync issues. Anyone else?
have you tried opening up your audio MIDI set up and switching your output speakers to your interface or to the headphone jack Right click on the device you would like to switch the output for
@TeamRonDi Sorry, I meant I didn't have those choices. I only had the camera and microphone settings. Then, I realized that screen recording is only available on the web. It doesn't work with the desktop app.

@@TeamRonDi How do you mean? When I open Video on CANVA I don't see anywhere to set up the microphone. I've had my logitec camera set up on the computer and it has always worked with the microphone. But now I get no sound.
@@TeamRonDi I don't see any way to do that. What are the steps to do that?
Screen recording is NOT available in the desktop App on Mac. Been requesting this FOREVER.
I just noticed that too! I hope that comes with the new version!
Yes, it only works with the web version, which is a pity, I agree ☝️
@@TeamRonDi
1. How can we switch to the new version of Canva?
2. How can I include more options in the left tool bar? Currently, I only have 8 options in the old version (dark):
- Design
- Elements
- Text
- Brand
- Uploads
- Draw
- Projects
- Apps
3. Can’t detach image when talking head is switched to a square instead of circle?
4. THANKS, mucho! 🙏
Anyone else frequently finding voice out of sync when recording as talking head? Any ideas Roni? Canva didn’t have an answer
Do a Google search and you'll find more information.
excellent
Thank you 🙏✨
Amazing! Thank you Ronny!
My pleasure 😇
good because I have been recording my audio in Zoom and then bringing it in to add to my videos
There you go, a new thing to try in Canva 😎
Can you do this in Kittl?
I’m not sure, Diana will create a tutorial about Kittl soon 🙂
I can't seem to record myself while editing my presentation. How do I accomplish that?
The Present and Record feature should be available under the "Share" button, unless you are in India (where the feature doesn't exist).
@@TeamRonDi thanks. I want to record myself and the screen while editing the presentation slides, but I can’t seems to do that like you did in your video. When I press record the Canva presentation I’m on goes into show mode only, without the ability to edit it. Is it possible to edit presentations while recording oneself and the screen at the same time?
RECORD YOURSELF isnt appearing on my Canva? Any clues as to what i ca do?
🤔 Not sure why that is ... are you using the desktop web version of Canva?
I was having the same problem until I tried using Canva on a different browser. When I open Canva on Chrome, the option is there. Hope this helps!
Can you use this on mobile phone
I don't think so ...
When I try to use this, it says my camera and mic are being used by another application. I cannot see which! A tad frustrating. I disconnected from USB and reconnected. They are now working but also with terrible lip sync issues. Anyone else?
have you tried opening up your audio MIDI set up and switching your output speakers to your interface or to the headphone jack
Right click on the device you would like to switch the output for
hope someone can help you with that!
I don't have the choice to select camera, screen and camera or screen only
This could be because your system only has one camera?
@TeamRonDi Sorry, I meant I didn't have those choices. I only had the camera and microphone settings. Then, I realized that screen recording is only available on the web. It doesn't work with the desktop app.
Why I am not able to see that little man with option to record camera and screen? I have pro version running on Mac
Record yourself is not available in India, is that where you live?
Nope, I live in the UK
My canva account has no option "Record yourself" though I am using the premium version. I am from India. Help Me Please. Thank You.
Listen to my disclaimer at the beginning of the video about India.
I cannot see where it says "Record Yourself" under uploads....odd. I am in the USA
You should have access to it from the US. Try with Google Chrome maybe 🤔
change shape isn't there anymore :(
Oh really?
Mine doesn't have record yourself button. Please help
It’s not available in India, like I explain in the video.
I have been wondering why I am not seeing this option. It’s not fair
Canva explained it's a legal issue, in India.
somehow record button not available
That feature is not available in India and China, are you in one of these countries?
This 'record myself' button is only visible on google chrome browsers.
