Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories.
You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production and fighting enemies. Use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into ingenious structures, apply management skills to keep it working and finally protect it from the creatures who don't really like you.
Join forces with other players in cooperative Multiplayer, create huge factories, collaborate and delegate tasks between you and your friends. Add mods to increase your enjoyment, from small tweak and helper mods to complete game overhauls, Factorio's ground-up Modding support has allowed content creators from around the world to design interesting and innovative features. While the core gameplay is in the form of the freeplay scenario, there are a range of interesting challenges in the form of the Scenario pack, available as free DLC. If you don't find any maps or scenarios you enjoy, you can create your own with the in-game Map Editor, place down entities, enemies, and terrain in any way you like, and even add your own custom script to make for interesting gameplay.
It ain't your internet, I've had the same issue with that video.
I was going to say the same
yip same here. had to download to see it properly
errandel is just awesome
Indeed! To also give credit where it's due, Albert is their main gfx guy and does amazing work as well. Guessing he did a lot of the environment models and graphics for Gleba
As is the entire team. From the art and music to the optimization of the game and how it all work together. Just awesome.
the factorio dev team is basically awesome peopple packet up together
I love the joke from Developers. Gleba in polish language is literally a soil.
Earth in English is soil - well played, devs!
@user-rw3fm9ix3i ziemia, gleba are synonyms, pretty much. And there are quite a few others, too.
the artwork for this planet is incredible. This is probably the best rendition of a fungal world I have seen, usually people just make every thing glow lol
There is giant lichens in Elden ring. They looks more like real lichens, just scaled up.
Gleba looks like they took whoville and expanded it to an entire planet with different bioms.
I would like some monstrous giant monster. Something that will need multiple layers of defense but attacks infrequently enough that your automated systems have time to rebuild.
Agreed, that would be a nice different challenge
Iirc, we can fit nuclear missiles in those new shiny rocket turrets, no? :V
I’d love if it was a single large boss monster that has a territory and defends it, and until you can defeat it you have to manage surviving alongside it. Would be a unique change from biters
you guys were pretty accurate
All this descriptive writing on the environment makes me wish Factorio had the scanner from Subnautica.
same, i really loved diving into all the different ecosystems and reading about the wildlife, it just made it feel so much alive because i knew what role each plant and fish has
AWW YEAH, THIS IS WHAT I WAS WAITIN' FOR! Great video as always! I absolute ADORE the look and creativity of wube here, the biomes feel alien and yet... real. Three things came to mind here:
-I think water will be fully or partially walkable. Not only does it look like you can easily see the lake floor, but Erandel's journey immediately discusses you wading through the water. This then makes sense that we learn to landfill on this planet.
-Additionally, in terms of enemies, maybe we might see something come out of the water like you mentioned, but I think there will be different types of enemy life that we don't normally see. Perhaps biters as casual enemies but then there are non respawning or other types of large creatures we have to deal with. They say it's teeming with life, and they are willing to show massive biodiversity, so maybe there will be for fauna as well as flora.
-The map at 6:36, we only see copper and stone? Sadly I don't see what resource you were talking about on the map. Perhaps we have to constantly harvest from wildlife for oil? But what about iron? perhaps stone is a mixture of regular stone and iron that we must worry about filtering? or maybe there's something else?
Thanks!
Love your thoughts here. Getting landfill on this planet totally makes sense, good thought!
Having some sort of non respawning enemies, almost like bosses would be pretty cool and a change of pace. Whatever they were hinting at near the end does not sound like some mundane enemy the just keeps respawning haha
The resource I thought I saw was the like white stuff. But after looking again, I think it's just part of visuals of the environment and not a resource. Since it's still a WIP, it's quite possible that any new resources aren't added yet actually
looks like there is copper and stone patches (couldn't identify an iron patch in the map image)
I hope next week we get more details: what, if any, new resources are unlocked on planet...as well as new building, creatures/enemies, etc.
Well, I guess this planet is the one I'll be visiting after maxing my military out :>
I'm betting on exploding flora. That could be pain.
Ah yes, a the words of a true Factorio engineer:"huh, this place looks so beautiful and natural. We're gonna nead a lot of napalm and nukes!".😂
hoping for a big fungle bitter. I think flame throwers and the rockets are going to be needed for the big boy thats stopping
Yes!! I love the smell of napalm in the morning 😂
Did they ever say what planet the jellyfish looking thing, when they first announced the expansion, was going to be on? This looks like the planet it would be on.
They didn't. It's entirely possible that the thing they showed way back then may not even exist anymore. But if it does, I'd definitely agree it'd be on this planet.
The music 🔥🔥
I was right! Mystical forest is what I said the teaser music sounded like a few weeks ago when they did the new music fff
Yup, spot it! Definitely feels like a mystical forest type vibe
Hey so I heard that you're dyslexic like me well don't let that get you down because a lot of famous people are dyslexic if you watch Dragon's Den you might know that some of the famous people on their who are investors have stated that they are dyslexic as well.
I really hope that pollution is a major part of this tech tree and that we get machines (or can farm plants) to actively counter pollution. I would love to shift my main base of opperations to here cause it is so pretty, but would hate watching everything die
I believe they were hinting that you may want to start filling in the planet with concrete because everything is sticky and slowing you down
Pretty cool. Maybe on this new planet there could be come kind of mushroom ressource? A mod making some kind of bio/organic-factorio on this planet would be cool. Like mixing machines and plants into something alien and weird and new... Maybe energy could all be solar with plants absorbing the sun rays to produce power? New products/by products, theres potential there for modders with lots of crazy ideas.
A godzilla monster stomping on your base would be great. Imagine if nuking it would give it more power like ``real`` godzilla? A DUNE-factorio mod with a worm coming out from under to swallow entire parts of your base would be epic too... you would need to put thumpers close but far from your base so worms go there instead of your base... pollution attracts bitters... what if the noise of your factory attracted worms??
Gonna bet some sort of organic farming location like some mods use for there later science.
It looks great but I think there needs to be a lot more contrast between the ground/water, cliffs are basically invisible. Feels like a bit too much stuff going on on the ground, even though it looks awesome.
For sure. I mean they did say it's still a WIP and that cliffs specifically are just place holders. I have complete faith the final product will be incredible
Guessing the concrete prevents invasions due to the last line there
Now that's an interesting thought! I'd love that approach actually
Big stompy boy :D
That looks awesome!
Imagine the resources on the planet having to be farmed from a boss fight😂
No thanks
Go go godzilla!
No, the jungle has to be the last planet, to face off against the true enemy of Factorio: Trees!
But seriously, this looks awesome; it looked a bit too normal at first but the constant growth and clutter makes it feel alive. And those swamp textures are gorgeous.
I can't afford to rent an apartment on Gleba.
