Thanks for the love! Tommy was a great guide & awesome local. Maybe we can collaborate sometime in the near future! Would love to show more of O-side off! :)
If you guys ever want real Mexican Food try El Mundo de Mariscos on Oceanside Blvd. Local and family owned since 1997. They have HUGE burritos, amazing tacos, and the seafood...amazing. Highly recommend the Ceviche or Shrimp cocktail! Family friendly, military friendly, the owners are genuine and kind people.
Lived in Oceanside in 2003. Lived in an apartment complex right across the Top gun house. Looks like everything has changed! Loved getting up early in the morning everyday and having coffee on the pier!
My husband and I are being stationed at Camp Pendleton in June. We are excited to make San Diego our home. Hoping COVID won’t hold us back from visiting all the local spots in Oceanside. Thanks for the guide!
Thats awesome! Oceanside has so many new places to discover... Hopefully by the summer things are a lot better! Just in time for the summer and your move. Enjoy! I appreciate you watching!
Jay, I am veteran and was stationed in Camp Pendleton. I am very surprised how you don't mention how Oceanside has a very strong military presents. Oceanside is a military town. Also you literally passed by the best Mexican joint in my opinion. After living 20 years in North County. Colima's is my go to for my Mexican food. They make the biggest burrito I have eaten. Been going there since my military days back in the '00.
Tony Hawk does not own black plague brewery, but he is partners with the owners. Tony Hawk's son Riley Hawk owns the Steel Mill in Oceanside though. I love Valerie's, but the local Colima's has the best California Burritos. If you want the best fish tacos get some at Sinaloa Mexican food off oceanside boulevard, they are about $2. Oceanside DOES NOT FOLLOW THE MASK RULE. Please be respectful if you come to Oceanside from San Diego or Los Angeles, we share a main hospital with 3 cities.
Shout out Uncle Mike! Thank you for your service. Wow Twins born in San Clemente. Maybe I'll leave the SD city limits at some point and do a video up there for a change!

😃Whoa! Grew Up Here! Glad He Didn't Take You To O'side Hood areas: the Valley area going towards Vista & Escondido; Oceanside Blvd all thru the East side; oh & Cap town...Capistrano Park!!!! 😂😂😂
Hey! I'm probably moving to Oceanside soon and I have a quick questions for a local or someone who knows: Is the area LGBTQ+ friendly and will residents react kindly to a lesbian couple or gay and trans people or the like? Progressives? Is the area safe and generally a "good enough" place to be? Like do I have to worry about myself or my belongings ever? Walking at night? Dangerous places/areas? Comfortable as a woman? Thanks!!
Oceanside is a very LGBTQ+ friendly, very progressive “little” town. It is also a fairly safe place, of course you have your occasional homeless person walking around downtown but for the most part, walking around at night is pretty safe. People love taking late night walks or jogs on the strand & the pier. The pier is always active with fishermen.
I wouldn't label O-Side as "progressive". After all, it is a Jarhead town with lots of Marines running around. That being said, I don't know about many LBGT areas around here. You're probably better off in Hillcrest if your worried about that. No one will hassle you about your sexuality though.
I had my truck shot up (parked on the street right infront of my place) due to ramdom gang activity... In a residential part of South oceanside! I worked by the pier at a bar in my 20's & I saw a really bad fight at least once a week. It's not the most progressive place at least what I've seen. It's got a lot of young military transplants from all over the US and much of the gangs come from inland to n. Oceanside on the weekends (the 76 freeway is a straight shot from the valley to the pier). I moved from Oceanside because the crime. Everyone gets thier garages broken into. I had countless bikes stolen over the years. It used ro be a cheap beach city bit now it's the same price as living in a nicer safer area.
JAYCATION, I AM MOVING TO OCEANSIDE AND I NEED A GUIDE IS POSSIBLE THAT I COULD HAVE YOU SHOW ME AROUND? I AM WILLING TO PAY YOU A FEE FOR YOUR TIME. OTTO
Looks great! A girl I like has been recommending Oceanside to me and I like what I see. Any cheap motels under $50 to stay at within walking distance from the metrolink? I was thinking of going for New Years but it might be too cold huh? By the way, the mask 😷 has been proven to be ineffective. I hardly ever wear it and I never got sick.
Hey! I grew up in Oceanside from 89' - '95 or so... There's ALOT of stuff I've been curious about as far as if it's still there: Is El' Camino Real mall still there? Is North Terrace Elementary still on pendleton? Tan's Doughnuts in the valley?
So El Camino Real was renovated... i believe its an outdoor mall partly now. It's called the shoppes at carlsbad now. As for the others, i havent ventured that way! Where do you live now?
As a local beer lover, was excited to go to local quick market. Super disappointed at selection and attitude of men up front. All standing around as if they worked there but not one wanted to help me. Also, beer selection was poor.
As someone that is from this area . That mall sucks ass! It's renovated but if you walk though most stores are vacant. Lucha Libre closed . The better buzz closed ( didn't last a year ), Pete's coffee didn't last 6 months. Its the kiss of death to even the best buisness. Oceanside is cool just skip the mall
