Interesting I grew up in Oceanside Tri City area great neighborhood currenty live in the Fire Mt area. One of the best things about The Tri City part of Oceanside is that if you live east of College Blvd you are in the Vista School District. Vista Schoold district has historically had better schools and more school choices. The Tri City Area also is close to everything. Crime is low and there are many long time residents living in this area of Oceanside. Many homes have been renovated and even had a second story added to them if one did not exist already. I wish that you had shown all of Oceanside Your top 5 are very subjective.
Excellent overview! This helped me a lot
Very coooool ❤

Great content, keep it up!!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching.
This video brings back memories when I used to live in O'side and Vista areas between '86 - '98.
Have never returned to O'side since leaving in Sept. '98, but always wanted to.
During my stay in the region, many times I enjoyed walking the pier using crutches while in recovery mode from an injury in '89. During that time of recovery (and before) I would visit the library, as well as walking the entire interior walkway of El Camino Real Mall in Carlsbad, now called The Shoppes at Carlsbad. The OTC transfer point was out front of the mall. What is called The Station Church across the street from The Shoppes at Carlsbad near the intersection of Marron Rd & El Camino Real was the theater.
On my last return to Oceanside in '95, I watched the Ocean's Eleven Casino, which is next to the main post office on Brooks St., as it was being built from the ground up.
There were five places in O'side that I lived:
S. and then N. Ditmar Sts.,
Loma Alta Drive,
S. Myers St,
Apple St off from Crouch St.,
The last place I lived in North County was at a location in Vista that has since been leveled & rebuilt for seniors. That place is called The Grove on Civic Center Dr in Vista across from the road of the plaza where Harbor Freight Tools is part of. PanPan Wok has good food.
O’side has changed! Thanks for sharing.
They did not build oceans eleven from the ground up it used to be mission bowl.

It may have been Mission Bowl, but they tore it down. I know because right after returning to Oceanside, I watched them build the casino in various stages as it went up in its place.
That thin parking lot section across the street from it is where I used to park & wait in my car. I would watch the guys raise the casino as I waited each day for when the mail would be put in the mail boxes at the P.O. That side area wrapped around to the front of the parking lot that used to belong to a department store and was situated *between* the old outdoor YMCA swimming pool (now the Brooks Street Swim Center) and what is, or was, Car Quest Auto Parts along Mission Ave. That building used to be a family restaurant I loved to eat at with some friends.
One of the businesses in that long building called The Grocery Outlet Bargain Market makes me wonder if it is possibly associated with a store called Canned Foods Grocery Outlet that was on Horne St & Civic Center Drive... behind El Polo Loco aka the crazy chicken. The CFGO store with a big rainbow over the entrance would've been where the Metroflex Gym is presently, or was.
love it !!!
Hey Vic 👋
Thanks. Very helpful
Love to hear that!
1. The Stater Bros on Vista Wy closed in 3/2023.
2. you completely missed out on the North Valley and San Luis Rey communities.
"Coastal Oceanside" was the OG town. When the condo tower was built at the harbor, they were having trouble selling them. "Ten thousand dollars for an APARTMENT! What's this world coming to!"
Crazy to think those were going for $10k, now there in the $800’s+!
Didn’t mention the Arrowood community…….also the Coaster train access is fantastic
Coaster access is one of my favs. Where do you usually take it to and from?
Please leave Arrowood off the list. There are far too many renters moving here,,
No Arrowood?
You completely missed the Hidden gem neighborhood in East Oceanside, Jeffries Ranch!!! Come on!
I missed 2 honorable mentions! Both Jeffries Ranch & Henie Hills
How are people with regular middle class jobs paying for 900,000 homes?
Most people started small. They bought many years ago or bought a small condo built some equity now moving up.
We aren't! I live here and a 1 bedroom apt is 1800
Also with higher prices , the averages of wages for regular jobs are higher in the area so with higher pay there are more expenses or they rent out rooms
Was there in the early 70's,,, I remember people being lined up against the sea wall with bags at there feet. Everyone of them selling marijuana & drugs. They would wait till a Federal Holiday when the drug agents had a day off... 😮,, I can't imagine things have changed much
It’s definitely changed a lot since the 70’s. Have you been back since?
Don’t do it it’s a bad city , over priced
