    Cheers!

    IF you can score a Novak ESC, that would be ideal. 😉 They're of course out of business, but they're still out there, and in good nick. Also Reedy ESC... Both were popular options when I Raced, when that was new. 😁

    I’m sure that TOMS is glad to have found you! Those tiny little screws that’s hold the upper belt cover in place always seem to strip out the upper deck so even if you do find them they may not stay in place very well - I’d suggest you find some long enough for nuts underneath but I do appreciate your purist ways 😄😄

      I’ve placed an order for a set of the correct design but looking at it I can see what you’re saying. I’ll try the correct set first but if that just doesn’t work I’ll swap them out for nuts and bolts.

    I cannot give any guarantee but to my understanding the OTW 9 is the applicable body mounts for all LWB car of this series. The part number you mentioned is unknown for me but compare with the OTW 9 parts possibly available on Ebay. You probably need to drill holes in the undertray as well as in the body for the body mounts. This is a Japan produced car and you may pick a Futaba RC setup? (NOS gold shocks are quite expensive)..

    Peak Performance used to make crazy motors back then. No idea the availability these days thou.

    You could wet sand the chassis back and lacquer it with 2 pack lacquer but the original mid chassis was a matt finish as std, not sure how you would recreate that while removing the scratches.

    You will need the rubber cover for the u/s of the top belt cover that goes above the motor

    Looking great. There are new replica shocks sold on ebay. They look exactly the same and are complete for 50$ if i remember corectly. Im a kyosho guy myself although im currently restoring a top force and a vanquish (cause of your vanquish video i dug up my spares!). I suggest a progress or gallop mk2 for a next project? Maybe a maxxam ff? Very interesting designs. I have them lots of fun to restore.

    It my not be proper but I never bothered with body mounts when I was racing cars of this vintage if they had an under tray I usually Velcro the under tray to the chassis in a couple spots and the body to the under tray I raced my Lazer ZX like that and painting the under tray hides any chassis blemishes.
    I’m opposite of you I’ve got a couple Optima mid vintage upgrades (some are long discontinued aftermarket parts) I’m waiting either for a Re-Re to be released or the right complete original to come into my hands
    🍺😎👍🏽

    • @markbruton-young9228
      @markbruton-young9228 4 года назад +1

      True the undertray body mounts used to rip through the undertray, we all used 5-8mm wide velcro the full length of the undertray both sides instead of the plastic mounts.

    Nice to see that things are progressing nicely keep the good videos coming. Where did the repo body come from and is it for a TOMS. The body for the TOMS and the Custom are different shells. The custom shell has a bubble on the left side pod to clear the arm for the manual speed controller. This is missing on the TOMS she’ll. Period ESC may be a futaba 112b or if you can find one a 111b

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  4 года назад

      Yep I have the two designs and I know about the bubble. The Mid and turbo have that design and then the Toms on doesn’t. Not sure about the SE as I don’t have one yet.

    • @markbruton-young9228
      @markbruton-young9228 4 года назад

      @@RCKickschannel I think the SE did have a bubble as it came with manual speedo mount. The best things about the SE was the Ball diffs and the platinium shocks which you could adjust the damping without taking them apart

      I really like the Kyosho rim design. It grabs the tyres really well so no need to clue. The only issue is to male the rims work you need a front part, rear part, black internal band and five screws. As you can imagine with vintage cars these parts are slowly lost to time.
