The US Air Force decided to send me to Germany in 1986. I had somehow come across a Tower Hobbies catalog a few months before I left. I decided to take on a new hobby to keep me busy during my tour of duty, so I ordered a Turbo Optima and radio. Halfway through my tour (of 3 years) I found out US radios used an illegal frequency in Europe. I put my Optima away until I transferred back to the States.
Fast forward to 2024 (I'm 62 years old now). I just ordered a Turbo Optima, a Kyosho 240S brushless motor and 240S ESC. Can't wait to put it all together and relive a bit of my youth. Peace out.

    Hey fella!
Just found your channel, first time viewer.
Beautiful job you done there, love the green addition to the body shell, works really well! (is that top force green?)
And, great job on the driver detailing, I left the driver out of mine due to a lack of space..... I fitted the ESC on the top deck next to the receiver, this combined with a deans to tamiya adapter lead left very little space!
Your neat wiring puts mine to shame in all honesty!
Nice to see you running a proper vintage motor, like you, I prefer brushed in my vintage cars.
I went with the tamiya super stock rz, works well for what I'm after.
This buggy is a joy to build, and runs really well for a design that's nearly 40 years old eh?!
Kyosho are doing a great job of their legendary series.
Got up a couple of videos of my one up on our channel @ Green Hawks RC if you are interested at all.
    Anyway, great video fella....

What can I say that hasn't already been said here? That was a masterclass in detailing an RC buggy and video production! Really enjoyable and informative. You are going from strength to strength, Damian. I know exactly what you meant at the end, feeling the pressure of wanting to do a good job because the car was a gift from the RC Elf. I just went through the same experience with the Gray Edition Clodbuster from the Elf, too. But you more than did it justice, mate! Sorry I'm late but I didn't get a notification, usual RUclips problems... also some of my comments are being removed (again, arrrgghh!) so I hope this one sticks.
