And if you miss life and living, you get VHS tapes. Important tip for a guide grinding skills

Save the vhs tapes for levels 9 and 10 in carpendry, trapping, foraging, mechanics, etc. Because the amount of exp required to go up a level grows expoentially, levels 9 and 10 take roughly the same amount of exp as levels 0-8, but the last books give a bigger exp boost than the first 4. You can read the books then watch the tapes and knock out a huge portion of the final part of your grind

The vhs tapes in combination with the skill books help a lot when u have to spawn a new character a need to give them a solid start far faster than grinding.

An important note I noticed watching the TV portion of the video:
You can find the VHS versions of the shows throughout the world which will allow you to eventually rewatch them when you die for easy starting levels for new survivors.

Nice video but let me add that you also have VHS tapes in multiple video stores with programs like Wood Craft, Car Zone, Survival something... They correspond to the Life and Living programs but you also have programs for Mechanics and Metalworking at least. Each program has 5 to 7 episodes, I think...

what i prefer to do is ignore tv and instead wait till late game to get all the books and to best utilize the xp gain

I've debated doing the same too. I like doing as much as possible while the electricity and water are still on. Trying to catch all of the episodes is time consuming

Spawn in Rosewood and get to the bookstore and school. I got to carpentry lvl 8 by day 9 with only once dissassembling a bit to grt to next lvl and read the next book before the tv episode

It's why you should focus on having a base near a well for the winter. There's a farm in the center of the map which is central but fairly secluded with a well, I really suggest checking it out
