it's time it's time it's Vader Time
As I’ve gotten older and stopped watching wrestling and now recently kinda getting into it again, I’ll say that the appreciation and respect I have for Vader has only increased. His induction into the hall of fame is well deserved, just too bad he’s not around to see it.
Awesome, just plain awesome!
This a great interview Vader is one of my all time favourite wrestlers R. I. P. Big feller you are missed
Vader is the bouncer at the Pearly Gates with St Peter. So don't even try getting in unless you have been good.
This is the most professional shoot I've seen in ages. He speaks clearly, doesn't stir the pot, Vader just speaks plainly and truthfully!
I really hope they are wrong. If he can just eat healthy, cut out the junk and maybe just walk a lot he could drop weight and live long I hope.
Nah bud, he passed. I'm sorry
@@yoyo2ma how do you know what the man does?
Screw the WWE for not putting Vader in the Hall of Fame while he was still alive. Vader absolutely should have been provided a proper celebration of his amazing career. Plus his HOF speech would have been legendary.
David R I read, that Vader informed WWE he did not have that much more time. Apparently WWE ignored him.
If a person was to induct Vader, when he was alive, it can be none other than Sting. That is the one man who frequently visited him in the hospital before Vader passed away.
David R yes they should have
wwe is trash. They treated vader like trash when he was there
@@michaelmacdonald880 Especially Shawn Michaels, I have read and heard that Michaels would find funny to mock Vader to the point that he broke him to tears. Tells you much about how shitty Michaels was back then as a human being. RIP Vader, one of the most if not the most agile super heavyweight there was.
I agree 100%
STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON!!!
Crazy ass Wrestler named Vader!!!!
Sykopath BnG Too funny.
Compton California was a middle class white neighborhood. Then the blacks moved in and ruined it. Now Spanish have moved in and crime is way down. That's just facts.
playinragz The fact is you have NO damn idea or clue of what your talking about.
playinragz not that anybody asked you but actually you're wrong.
the CRACK epidemic moved in and ruined it. Now that CRACK is under control and Weed is Legal crime is way down. That's just the facts.
Again people make statements because they can. Internet yoyos don't recreate facts. Sorry ladies
Thank you, Vader. You were the bomb, and one of my wrestling heroes. My wake up alarm on my phone is the Vader Time theme music, and it never fails to get me jacked. Rest well, big man.
Weak.
A lot of these people are just so full of shit in what thwy say in their comments. I can see it in their words.
@@jesselewis525 Vader had his share of fans as well as his detractors like any other wrestler or athlete generally speaking, Mr. Lewis. He was quite an imposing and impressive big man with ability and agility
R.I.P Vader you will be missed
no he wont jim
It'll always be Vader Time.....R.I.P Mr. Leon White, a truly amazing athlete
R.I.P Big Van Vader
Put this man in the hall of fame already
He'll be inducted the year after he dies.
So next year hes in. Fuck this.
@@raider7375 who cares? Vader was a terrible human being. Whether he's in a hall of fame for phony wrestling matches isn't of any consequence.
@@waynediamond7736 thats funny. Most around the business say he was one one of the nicest guys around. Maybe you should take a page from that book and bring less hate into this world.
@@raider7375, I hated Van Vader. Paul Orndorff whipped Vader's fat azz. Lardazz Vader couldn't run with the big dogs.
Growing up Undertaker never scared me. Vader terrified me.
same here
Same here.
The head piece and the steam
Same here, I still remember how he scared me at clash of the champions against mick foley when he put his face in the camera as he was walkIng down the aisle screaming about how he was about to kill cactus jack. Lol. I was like omg, somebody stop this match from happening. Cactus lost his ear in a match against Vader. He’s still missing his ear to this day.
thank you big time Hannibal for this shoot interview!
Big time - Vader time!
You all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Elliot Ramon Instablaster ;)
@Moses Jonathan Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Moses Jonathan it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
I think he would've been a good opponent for Goldberg back in WCW.
That is for sure!
I wonder if they tried to get Vader before bringing in Bam Bam?
The WCW screwed up royally by having the NWO be too strong - unbeatable - back then. Yeah it was good at first but then it turned gimmicky.
Having had Vader, Sting, Goldberg, 4 Horsemen etc, etc and letting Hulk Hogan control everything over a period of 2 years was stupid. Waste of talent.
Vader would of shot on him like regal did lol but worse
@@obitosenju4767 someone should teach him. I'm glad regal did.
It's extremely weird seeing Vader without his face mask. Although his mask wasn't a full-on mask where his whole face was covered, it was still a "wall" to his real self. Really cool to see him as a person and not a persona.
One of the baddest (scariest) wrestlers from my youth. I'm upset the WCW didn't utilize him to his fullest potential.
Thanks for the great memories champ!
I agree - the guy was terrifying in the ring. It’s a shame that Shawn Michaels buried him in WWF also.
I love this guy. He reminds me of my dad. Of course, he could have beat my dad to a pulp even though dad was big and could fight, but he reminds me in his mannerisms and how he speaks.
Your dad would've had a punchers chance
Sad to hear about his death.....always enjoyed watching him............June 20,2018.........RIP🇨🇦
He doesn't look like a man with two years left. He looks pretty healthy especially for the type of lifestyle he lead.
This comment didn’t age well...
@@janreznak881 :(
@@janreznak881 It was kinda true though. He didn't look like it, but unfortunately he was.
@@janreznak881 actually there's nothing changed. He said he didn't LOOK like a man with only two years left
Unfortunately very few people realize how big a deal Vader was in Japan. Inoki was the most over and revered star in wrestling ever. He was Hogan times ten, a true national hero. To come over and squash him in 2 minutes was the most shocking finish in history. Massive respect.
@@TurnheadcoughI think Inoki's draw can't be properly appreciated outside of Japan because the type of champion he was appeals specifically to those with native Japanese sensibilities. Hogan was awesome in a far less subtle way; anyone looking at him can immediately appreciate his appeal.
Hogan was, and still is, the greatest of all time. Stone Cold was on top for a far shorter time, and wrestled in a post-Hogan era when wrestling was already huge; he didn't have to do the work of getting it there.
One of the most unrated wrestlers of all time, scared me as a kid when he was a heel in WCW
I don't think he was ever underrated, maybe in the end of his career, but I remember him being the big baddest guy all the time. I think his best run was in WCW, which is probably the reason he didn't get into their hall of fame, unless if he did something to piss Vince off. I looked at the list of HOFers and he towers far above a lot of them in so many ways.
It was a pitty that WWF never used Leon properly.
@@cardboardempire Exactly! Vader didn't win a single championship belt while he was employed with the WWE!!! I personally think Vince did that to Leon (Vader) because he worked with WCW.
@@cardboardempire You got that one right!!👍😟
@@MRWINDYMETHANE I wouldn't doubt it, Mr. Martinez.
Why does WWE always wait till the legends are dead to induct them into the HOF, is it a money thing?
Real name is Leon White. Born in Lynwood. Raised in Compton. Vader is officially just light skinned lol.
Hahahaha. You know who else from Lynwood? Kevin Costner.
Weird Al =P
compton a shithole today.........you have seen too many movies
@@j_obaymaac2886 fuck spider joc gunit 4l
@@j_obaymaac2886 Bruh, YOU watch too many movies... Compton has a lot of revitalization going on and it's been like that for years now
My dad has never told me he was afraid of anyone. When I was watching my first Vader match, he told me as a kid and even teen, he was TERRIFIED of Vader. Man had an undeniable presence.
I honestly think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame
Vader Worries about no man! Kane, tonight, faces his own annihilation, his own destruction, & you & everyone in the world...federation... will know just who the man is. & Sunny I say what time is it? & Sunny I say again, what time is it? I thought you were smarter than that? It's Vader time!
Vader from Compton! Only the strong survive, RIP Bruv.
What a nice man! Such a shame, thanks for the memories RIP Vader!
Slob Vader lied all through this weak-azz interview.
Big Van Vader .....Regards from Bombay, India.
RIP big man you shall be missed.
I know it doesn't mean much but Vader is my WWE champ in 2k19 in a heated rivalry with HBK, call me petty but Vader winning this fued.
RIP Big Van Vader
when your outnumbered, lol. Polite way of saying when theres a bunch of black people picking on a white boy. If your a white boy living in Compton and made it to adulthood, thats bonified bad ass.
R.i.P Leon White AkA Big Van Vader 🙏... "OH ITS TIME ITS VADER TIME!"🕯
Dragon ball z had a Vader rip off and a Shawn Michaels rip off during the cell games if any dbz fan know what I'm talking about and if u don't just go back and watch the cell games
I'm gonna have to look at that
Thank you Leon for giving us Vader. R.I.P.
Arn and Sid not thanking Vader for saving Sid's life and saving Arn from a very long jail sentence made me lose some respect for both of them.
STOP IT
Seriously STFU. It was unspoken, snowflake.
Damn Vader Was from Compton... No wonder he was a Gsta..
The way Vince handled Vader in WWF was CRIMINAL
The last 3 minutes of this is tough to hear as he just passed.
2 hours of Vader shooting. My body is ready!
There is a joke to be made there but I won't do it.
Luke Baer 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hannibal, you made a mistake in the interview and I’m guessing that Leon White was too gracious to correct you. At 11:53 you stated that White played in Super Bowl XXIV (24) against Pittsburgh. The Steelers were not in Super Bowl XXIV. That game was between the AFC Champion Denver Broncos and the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers. The Super Bowl that Leon DID appear in was XIV (14) between the Steelers and the Los Angeles Rams. That game was played in January of 1980 in Pasadena, California and the Steelers won 31-19.
Man he's just a regular guy.
I spent a few days with him and he's not a regular guy at all. Hilarious individual, nice but definitely does some unusual stuff that I found highly entertaining.
Thx for the interview. He certainly comes across like a regular dude.
Sad hearing Vader say he has 2 years to live in this video n seeing it was posted 5 years ago
I live in Denver I should got to Boulder knock on his door and give him a pile driver lol.
Mark Shaw Jr. leave me paralyzed lol lol yeah he'd fuck me up.
Did you ever do it?
I never liked his wrestling persona but I really like the man behind the mask. RIP Leon.
Vader was straight outta Compton? 😂
What I learned from this interview:
1) Vader has had hundreds of concussions, has survived a serious car crash and is now dying of heart failure. Feelsbadman.jpg
2) Vader never uses the words "work" or "wrestle." He uses the word _fight_ to describe his approach to wrestling, which is certainly fitting.
3) Vader thinks Brock Lesnar is taller than him (Brock is actually 6'2.5", 2 inches shorter than Vader).
4) Vader thinks Bret Hart, one of the greatest workers of all time, is overrated.
5) Vader thinks he was 8 years old in 1966.
I think we can attribute the last one to the concussions.
Crazy the doctor tells him he has two years and he dies not even a year later. Rip Vader, The Mastodon.
The man they call VADERRRRR
RIP Vader! Greatest IWGP Heavyweight Champion ever, greatest IWGP Tag Champion, and greatest wrestler in wrestling history.
If Vader would have went back to WCW after leaving wwe/f, it would had been money! Vader/Goldberg would have been better than Sid/Goldberg
Idk what happened or why but right or wrong, you've got to admit; Arn has got balls as big as baseball's for getting in a street fight with Sid Vicious😳😲🤣
He may not have had a choice if Sid brought it to him but either way, my lord could you imagine???
I just shit a little just thinking about it. 🤯💩
Vador... did it all he was even on the old 90s show boy meets world... he out did alot of the big wwe guys... facts or facts
I got to see vader wrestle 3 times live, 2 times in wcw, and in a wwe house show, 1st time in a tag match with steve austin against sting and davey boy smith, then against my favourite wrestler guardian angel / boss man and against undertaker in wwe. All 3 matches were awesome i would say 2nd best match on each show. I only seen him out of character once or twice. With a lot of wrestling often find heels as nicer guys outside the ring. When he first went to wcw i thought he was unbeatable. His matches with sting were amazing for a guy who was nearly 40 at 450lbs doing moonsaults in a 30 min match. Possibly the best big man ever i think.
Never knew Vader was such an eloquent guy. I’m sure fighting off thugs in Compton toughened him up.
This is priceless now.
Yep and one of the best days of my life was chilling with Vader all day that day. Love the guy.
It's Vader Time!!
You can tell Vader loved telling that Austin Drinking story with his trunks lol…..its a great story
Absolutely heartbreaking he did not see his induction just his attitude and outlook are hall of fame worthy just shows why wrestlers say the things they do and why he is held in such high esteem really sid vicious before him come on
Big Van Vader is the greatest super Heavyweight wrestler of All time....
Damn Shawn Michaels for screwing Vader over the way he did. He deserved better.
If he knew he had 2 years to live, why didn't he get a transplant? Or was he on the transplant list but couldn't find a donor?
He couldn't have been 8 or 9 watching TOS Star Trek as he was 11 when the show premiered in 1966.
Waaaaaa caw caw
You always bring us such quality interviews. Thanks man!
Just when you think Vader can't be any more bad ass he tells you he was raised in Compton lol
Did Vader talk about that interview incident in Kuwait ?
A cold beer goes a long way.
He seems down to earth and is easy to listen to. I really enjoyed his stories and It's Time, It's Time It's Big Van Vader Time! It was an awesome interview.
Hannibal the king of shoot wrestling
This is a significantly important testament of Vaders career by Vader, shortly before his passing.
Vader says hes not, brother but the people say BIG VAN VADER IS A HALL OF FAMER!!!!!
I love Vader!!!! RIP
WWF didn’t know what to do with Vader as much as WCW didn’t know what to do with Bret Hart. Wish they both stayed at their companies or went to ECW instead.
Terrific interview. Kudos to the interviewer for this gem. RIP big man.
Thanks he was a great guy
Three minutes in and it's already interesting as hell
This is my favorite shoot ever. I watch once every few months. I just love this guy.
@@citizenbeeswax7985 Great wrestler

Moonsault moron
He has a look of sadness when talking about Owen
How is it that Jeff Jarrett was nominated and this man wasn’t?!?!?
I agree. I think Jeff deserves it, but Vader should of been in it well before him.
R.I.P Big Van Vader, you we're awesome 🤘
For a 2 hour interview and vader on the verge according to 3 doctors of dying from his bad heart he done excellent...Go Vader prove those doctors wrong !!! U can do it!!!
Amazing interview rip King Vader!
When he brags he just comes off so very genuine and that is extremely rare
36:08 Vader has to be the most humble guy ever in wrestling.
Bobby Eaton comes to mind for me too. Super nice man and never got the big head even though he was damned good.
Going back and watching this interview makes you realize just how professional and humble Vader was. And also, the praise to DDP just reminds you of how important it is that someone in that industry is there to help take care of their own. Imagine how many of the wrestlers who passed would still be around if there was more Diamond Dallas Pages in the world to step in and help them at their worst.
Great interview, watched it all, didn’t watch Vader a whole lot as a kid… really respect his take on all things. Seems to be very genuine and honest. GREAT interview!! Thank you sirs 🙏
RIP Leon White AKA Vader
Vader was awesome. Definitely one of my favorite wrestlers. This came up on my recommends so I'm going to definitely to watch it.
It’s time it’s time it’s.. Vader Time, time, time 😂😂 I loved that intro back in the day 😂 rip to a true legend of the wrestling game.
11 pound ten oz? Holy fuck!
Great interview Hannibal. Vader is a really easy listen. I enjoy listening to his stories n his analysis on specific wrestlers
Loved this man's work. Was truly an awe inspiring monster in his day.
Straight Outta Compton!
All he wanted before he died was to be inducted in the hall of fame. They knew he had the heart condition and was gonna die and Vince still didn’t induct him despite how unique of a character and how athletic he was for his size.
Man watching back to this interview just makes me smile so big. I'll never forget the first time I seen Vader in person. He was such a larger than life person, and so many were scared of him, but god he was such a sweetheart of a man. He was super awesome and cool to us fans. He signed my 1994 Toymaker edition WCW Vader action figure, and I still have it in a plexiglass case with lights in it and everything because it's one of my pride and joys. I miss you Vader, we miss you brother. You are a legend not only in the ring, but outside of it too!
Rip this legend 🙌🏿
8 months...12lb baby...."yeah I was a big baby". Truer words were never spoken. R.I.P. Leon
Towers over Vader.
Lol
