Mine was primarily for phone replacement in my truck. Maps is much bigger and clearer to see when driving. Got 512gb cellular. It’s easy to take with me all the time and also for casual use at home.
I have a pro 11” and recently got the mini 6 end of last year. Guess which one I use the most…my iPhone 14 Pro Max. But my iPad mini is close second. Perfect for travel and use it for both productivity and entertainment.
I love my ipad mini 6. It’s the perfect size for my life. Apple needs to give it a specialized keyboard case on the next launch, just like the other iPads. Why? Because with a keyboard, it’s the perfect mini Macbook Pro accessory or travel size substitute. It’s great for when I cannot bring my Macbook Pro with me due to purse space.
Was going to get one of these back in 2022 until the announcement that the iPad Air was getting M1. At that point I waited for pre-orders to open up and got mine custom engraved 256 GB with cellular in starlight. That M1 chip was a game changer.

There are pros and cons. 256Gb and Cellular. Bought it new to replace the 5 for use on car trips. It's a great GPS replacement. Better than the phone (size) for emails and RUclips. The 'jelly scrolling' has never been an issue for me. I can actually take a phone call with it while driving. However... It would be a LOT better if it was more landscape oriented. Taking a screen shot requires me to reach over the top to touch both the start button and a volume button, both on the left side. Very awkward. You need to perform FOUR functions to turn it off. Quickly. And in a certain order! (Up volume, volume down, push/hold the start button, then slide the power off slider. The 5 was two; way simpler.) For all the talk about the speakers, my phone is still louder. The A15 chip is quick enough, but could be a LOT better with, say, the M2. And there is that foto info popping up unasked, with no shutting it off. The Apple 'seers' (guessers) show no solutions for any of these problems. All in all, I'll prolly not upgrade to a 7.

I visited the Apple Store to do a comparison. The mini had clear issues with ‘jelly scrolling’, all the kids had damaged the edges of many screens and a few had burn in marks on the screen as they are on all the time. I sent my unopened mini back for a full refund. I’ve just got hold of a new 16/2TB iPad M1 11 pro for £50 more than a 256 iPad mini. In a different class, especially with the Magic Keyboard. If there was a pro grade mini with 120 Hz, pro motion, no jelly scrolling, and stronger build, I’d consider but for me a new iPhone 15 Pro Max 512gb for content creation is a more suitable investment. Turn it sideways and it great for reading stuff and has massive battery life.
Too bad the price is absolutely atrocious in Europe. People complain about its US price, but meanwhile in Germany for example the price of the base model (64GB, Wifi only) is 650 euros, and the 256GB Wifi only model is 850 euros. If you want to buy the 64GB version with cellular, it costs 850 euros! And the 256GB with cellular costs 1050 euros. Absolute insanity, and a complete insult to the customers living here.
I have the iPad Pro 11 inch and I honestly can’t imagine any tablet being superior… Even if that size it feels super portable for my needs. However… I can’t get over the idea that I should have an iPad mini anyways. They sure know how to get inside your head! 😅 💵
Haha! Yes, I have the 11" too, and yet I found it was kind of awkward for my Kindle reading... so I got the mini. It is my primary tool for reading digital books. I had the Kindle PaperWhite. Sold my iPad mini 6 and the Kindle Paperwhite Special edition last week. Got a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 which is narrower than mini and better than kindle. Mini is just way too expensive for what it does. I get the similar functionality in A9 but with option to upgrade storage and fits much nicer in the hand. Upgraded storage with 512GB samsung micro sd card for £25
@CScott4k To be fair there was nothing wrong with either the mini or the kindle, but mini felt over priced for my needs, kindle touch screen fetlt like the 2010 touch screens. Tab A9 was cheap as chips and met all my needs in one device.
Great video... which is why I am buying the mini 7! I have been waiting to upgrade my mini 4. Though I feel bad for peeps that recently paid 499.00 for the 64 gig mini 6. P.S. the mini 6 case is on eBay for 25.00. It is compatible with the mini 7. Bought a new one in burnt orange before people twig and the prices shoot up! Then with the money saved, buy a plug which no longer comes with the I pad 😞. I have an I phone 13 USBC plug so can use that.
@CScott4k Me? Nah! Furthermore, I don’t understand the hatred for the tablet with some You tubers out there. Not everyone wants an M4 chip in a huge screen that will not fit in a pocket. Doctors and small plane pilots are two examples that spring to mind. This fits the gap between my iPhone 13 and my Mac. Plus, I get the chip for Apple Intelligence without having to pay more money to upgrade my phone.
it’s just too small guys for realistic use. Your phone already does all that work. I really wanted to love it but eventually selling it for a great deal on the iPad Air 5. I actually need a field laptop worthy device as well so the mini is no go.
Loved mine until I got an iPhone 15 Plus. That phone is much easier in the hand than my old 13 Pro Max (or a 15 Pro Max.) Now I never really use my iPad mini 6 and can't put the phone down.

The screen is kind of awful. That's the only ask i could ask for... OLED and higher refresh rate. Along with no more bezel. A giant iPhone if you will. Other than for watching youtube or movies, it's great!
60hz refresh rate on that piece (iPad mini)😂, Lenovo legion Y700 "hold my beer" 144hz, full VC cooling system, bypass charging, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Full gaming overlays, JBL Tuned speakers, PC and Extended mode, 2.5k screen, etc.. for 399.99 😂
@@CScott4k Lol it seems I must eat a little crow; Supposably IS a word. But there’s more. Supposedly means something accepted as true while supposably means something that could be true. Subtle but distinct difference. So 99% of the time when someone says supposably, supposedly would be the better choice.
Upon further research, supposably is an adverb for possibly or conceivably. I believe the context I used it in fits. On the other hand, I’m by no means a Language Arts expert so I really have no idea 🤷🏼♂️ lol
I like smaller tablets, but phones are too small for me. The problem is ANYTHING else in that category has useless processor making them unusable (I mean 10 sec to refresh page useless) If you want smaller and actually usable for anythin its the only one on the market (android or apple) so much so I ended up handing out 500 notes !!!
It is a little low for the standard today. I’ve been fortunate without any issues. Although, I did get the increase iCloud storage this last fall when it was rolled out!
I've had a Mini 6 since they released. If I try really hard I can get it to jelly scroll, which to me implies it was just a clickbait issue for some RUclipsrs. I use mine daily for content consumption, and when I travel I always have it with me.
Unfortunately, all the iPad Mini 6 I’ve tried using has this jelly effect when you scroll from the left side (back and forth) like when reading an article or browsing through some web pages, or even browsing some videos to watch in RUclips. That is only when you are using the Mini in portrait, but in landscape you won’t experience the jelly effect. And from reading some article, it’s proven that it’s really part of the iPad Mini 6 screen and most people either just don’t notice it or don’t care at all. They said that the controller board that drives the display is located vertically on the left hand side hence the jelly effect. Apple said it’s normal in LCD screen but ironically you won’t experience it in iPad 10th gen and below, and from previous Mini’s.

I don’t see the appeal , I was on the look for a new iPad ( had a 9th gen iPad for years ). Wanted one of these newer ones and ditch the old style, I have a MacBook Pro so I looked for standard options. All of them seemed ok but nothing was really giving me that “ this is worth my money “. Eventually came across this internet frenzy with the iPad mini 6 vs every other iPad 🤣, so I decided to check it myself in store and it was such a ridiculous underwhelming experience. Super slow , laggy , had this weird jelly like effect and the size was horrible , I guess it’s not for everyone but certainly for some but I still didn’t see the appeal because the price tag on it is way too much for what u get. Tested the iPad Air but also felt like it was missing something , ended up buying the pro m2 256g , and I’m super happy with it. Perfect size , super fast. The mini needs serious upgrades in order to be an actual good purchase, makes a good case for a child or someone who barely uses any devices at all besides their computer. This was an interesting video tho
I felt the same way, every iPad gave me boring vibes, so I went with a galaxy tab s9 but I'm also not locked in to apple products, and let me tell you the galaxy tab has more features than I'll likely learn.
@@betbet5606I honestly saw the opportunity to get something non Apple for a second but because I have everything Apple I thought I’d probably end up regretting. But for sure there’s great options outside of Apple at least when we speak of an iPad mini or their other iPads that really need improvements, the pro seems a pretty solid purchase tho , but definitely won’t use every pro feature too hehe , cheers !
The M2 is definitely a monster! Being able to use Pro apps like FCP on M-Series iPads has really appealed to me since its announcement. It’s just hard to justify it for myself for what I use it for.
It’s now possible and easy for Mac users to synchronize files with Android devices. Why bother sticking to expensive Apple ecosystem when there are Android devices which are cheaper and powerful?
Apple is bit really expensive if you 2nd hand at 95-100% battery health at almosy half the price and will last many time than android...and with better apps and games

Same here in Sweden but actually slightly more expensive here. Madness
Wow! I had no idea that was the case. That’s insane!
Because your government adds all sorts of taxes. That’s not Apple’s fault
I will definitely buy a new iPad mini. I love the form factor
I have the iPad Pro 11 inch and I honestly can’t imagine any tablet being superior… Even if that size it feels super portable for my needs. However… I can’t get over the idea that I should have an iPad mini anyways. They sure know how to get inside your head! 😅 💵
They sure do! lol
Don’t waste your money. Look at my other response about a still working 10.5 iPad Pro.
Haha! Yes, I have the 11" too, and yet I found it was kind of awkward for my Kindle reading... so I got the mini. It is my primary tool for reading digital books. I had the Kindle PaperWhite. I sent the PaperWhite back and got the mini. Amazingly the Mini is barely any heavier and does so much more.
@@BrianVallotton I bought a used Mini 4 three days ago and holy smokes I love it. My 11” pro has been closed on my desk since then. I’m thinking of getting a Mini 6.
@@JohnvanGurp I hear ya man! I use my Pro mostly at church when I am playing on worship team. I would use the Mini on that as well but I would have to wear my reading glasses to use the Mini! ;-)
Upgraded storage with 512GB samsung micro sd card for £25
Nice. I’ve only ever heard good things about the paperwhite
So your the reason I can’t find any Mini 6 cases one eBay 😆
@CScott4k Me? Nah! Furthermore, I don’t understand the hatred for the tablet with some You tubers out there. Not everyone wants an M4 chip in a huge screen that will not fit in a pocket. Doctors and small plane pilots are two examples that spring to mind. This fits the gap between my iPhone 13 and my Mac. Plus, I get the chip for Apple Intelligence without having to pay more money to upgrade my phone.
@@michaelwoolcock5600 all great points!
it’s just too small guys for realistic use. Your phone already does all that work. I really wanted to love it but eventually selling it for a great deal on the iPad Air 5. I actually need a field laptop worthy device as well so the mini is no go.
Loved mine until I got an iPhone 15 Plus. That phone is much easier in the hand than my old 13 Pro Max (or a 15 Pro Max.) Now I never really use my iPad mini 6 and can't put the phone down.
the only no go for the mini is the 60hz
Each iPad mini 6 video they never talk about how long the battery so I’m wondering how many hours the battery lasts.
Will a new iPad mini come out this year?
The latest rumors I’ve seen suggest a possibility of a Mini 7 in late ‘24. October/November potentially. Of course, nothing is confirmed.
@@CScott4kit’s looking like September 😭😭😭 so tempted to just get the mini 6 now because I have a 12.9” which I never even use as a tablet lol it’s become my MacBook replacement. Now I need an iPad replacement for my iPad haha something comfortable to use in bed
I picked up a Mini 6, from 'Back Market', for $380; that's $49 cheaper than an iPhone SE3, how can I go wrong?
That’s a nice pickup. It’s been a while since I’ve checked Back Market out. I might need to revisit here soon!
Hell yeah it is! Great video pal
Thanks, I appreciate it!
The screen is kind of awful. That's the only ask i could ask for... OLED and higher refresh rate. Along with no more bezel. A giant iPhone if you will. Other than for watching youtube or movies, it's great!
that would be 1.2k minimum
I want it as a bigger phone with sim calling feature.
That’s always an option!
What’s the stand? Link doesn’t work.
@@nicholasremondelli2256 amzn.to/3AAVqmN.
60hz refresh rate on that piece (iPad mini)😂, Lenovo legion Y700 "hold my beer" 144hz, full VC cooling system, bypass charging, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Full gaming overlays, JBL Tuned speakers, PC and Extended mode, 2.5k screen, etc.. for 399.99 😂
Good ipad but with 60hz refresh rate its a no for me
It’s a definitely a drawback for sure.
Hi
Great video
🇬🇧
Thank you!!
I love mine🎉❤
Nice looking production values here. But you should be aware the word is supposedly - no such word as “supposably”😁
🤣 whoops
Upon further research (someone else pointed this out) supposably is in fact a word 😁
@@CScott4k Lol it seems I must eat a little crow; Supposably IS a word. But there’s more. Supposedly means something accepted as true while supposably means something that could be true. Subtle but distinct difference. So 99% of the time when someone says supposably, supposedly would be the better choice.
@@sonofacheron I’ll play it off like i knew what i was saying 😂 I learned something new today!
4:51
“…supposably” should be supposedly.
Supposably is a word, no? Or in the context I used it supposedly works better?
Upon further research, supposably is an adverb for possibly or conceivably. I believe the context I used it in fits. On the other hand, I’m by no means a Language Arts expert so I really have no idea 🤷🏼♂️ lol
I never knew supposably was a word til now
I like smaller tablets, but phones are too small for me. The problem is ANYTHING else in that category has useless processor making them unusable (I mean 10 sec to refresh page useless) If you want smaller and actually usable for anythin its the only one on the market (android or apple) so much so I ended up handing out 500 notes !!!
Smaller tablets are the way to go!
Why get an IPod 6?
It’s pretty, petite and pink.
It needs more storage. Mine is 256 and just about full.
It is a little low for the standard today. I’ve been fortunate without any issues. Although, I did get the increase iCloud storage this last fall when it was rolled out!
Did you notice any jelly scrolling issues that others have mentioned
I haven’t experienced any yet. Knock on Wood 🤞🏼
Apple said it’s normal in LCD screen but ironically you won’t experience it in iPad 10th gen and below, and from previous Mini’s.
how about ipad air 4 and 5 ,does it have the same problems?@@jyrjckbrls
i wont get the other ipad because , i want the size of ipad mini ,just perfect for my need , bigger ipad make me so cramp@@jyrjckbrls
I cannot play games with 60Hz (gives me a headache), so my only option is the 11” pro, the 12.9 is too big to hold.
still waiting Small bezels to iPad Mini 7
🤞🏼
Bezels are there for a reason. The bezels right now are perfect for where thumbs rest while using it
Of course I know. But it also has a solution@@itsdtxjd
I have iPad Pro 12.9 m2. Do I still need mini?
Too thick heavy and No home button.
I’ll stick with the mini 5.
No face I.D plus 60Hz that’s the drawback.
I felt the same way, every iPad gave me boring vibes, so I went with a galaxy tab s9 but I'm also not locked in to apple products, and let me tell you the galaxy tab has more features than I'll likely learn.
uh, ok
@@betbet5606I honestly saw the opportunity to get something non Apple for a second but because I have everything Apple I thought I’d probably end up regretting. But for sure there’s great options outside of Apple at least when we speak of an iPad mini or their other iPads that really need improvements, the pro seems a pretty solid purchase tho , but definitely won’t use every pro feature too hehe , cheers !
The M2 is definitely a monster! Being able to use Pro apps like FCP on M-Series iPads has really appealed to me since its announcement. It’s just hard to justify it for myself for what I use it for.
@@Benjaminnook I get it. My sister wants to switch to a galaxy but won't because how much she's spent in apple products, she's too invested.
So much zooming in and out it hurts.
It needs more RAM
More RAM is always good.
I swear I’m listening to a deepfake of JerryRigEverything 😳
I’m not sure if I should take that as a compliment or not 😅
@@CScott4k neither really. It was a clear observation I was making 😉
thank for your video... but i rather wait ipad mini 7
Thanks 🙏🏼. Hopefully we get one this year!
maybe next year October coz iPad mini are refreshed either 2 years or 4years. 2021 then 2023 but no refresh in 2023 so it's 2025
It’s now possible and easy for Mac users to synchronize files with Android devices. Why bother sticking to expensive Apple ecosystem when there are Android devices which are cheaper and powerful?
IMO, the ecosystem is the selling point.
Apple is bit really expensive if you 2nd hand at 95-100% battery health at almosy half the price and will last many time than android...and with better apps and games
pretty nice vid, predicate you.
No haptic motor, waterproofing, 120hz, 500 nits max brightness, 64gb starting storage, massive bezel ratio, not much bigger than a Plus model iphone.
It’s a no buy in 2024.
Haptic motors aren’t needed in iPads 😂 There is also quite a difference in size from a Plus/Max iPhone due to the difference in aspect ratio.
anything other than the air 5 is bad for money ngl
Money rots away in their presence.
Only 3 reason.?? Lol
The ipad mini is great. But the price, it's not worth it tbh.
I think $400 is fair, for a brand new one.
Or...... 650 euro....
I got mine 329.00 on amazon
Love 💕 it
The ipad mini 7 is coming in 2024 why bother buy the old one in 2024?
Must not have really watched the video 🤔
Lose the hat.
lol…did this dude say “supposibly” instead of supposedly? lol…. I can’t believe it.
Are you saying supposably isn’t a word?🤣 Might want to look it up lol
Wherever, that thing is overpriced for what it is.
Nice more apple garbage.
No
I just got one full price and now I’m hearing rumors of a new one coming for the 7th gen 🥹 hope i didn’t make a mistake
It won’t be out until September
Yeah, I haven’t heard much rumors other than the pros for a Q1 release, but it’s definitely possible later this year. Either the way, the mini 6 is solid!
