@@dianapeek6936- Which people are you referring to? If you mean the people in the street, they weren't aware that anything was wrong. If I recall correctly, the suspect dropped the gun inside the pub, where the landlord saw it happen. It presumably wasn't seen by other patrons inside or outside the pub. And at a guess, the landlord probably didn't want to alarm bystanders or trigger a panicked reaction by the suspect by calling attention to the gun.

In the UK it's only legal to hunt on your own land or other peoples land if they give you permission, you can't just walk out into the public owned countryside and start shooting what you like.

For example, in the UK someone could get “life” for murder. But if they are then found to be say “serial killers”, they won’t get much more, unlike in the US where you hear of people getting hundreds of years-long sentences. • @carlyjayne6655

The difference between the poaching and the hunting is that the farmer who allows the HUNTING to cull the deer is heavily regulated and it’s to keep the population from exploding as well as making sure they’re free of disease. Poaching is different because they kill whatever comes into their path such as the dogs that have been killed and it’s not regulated. If the farmer ignored the poachers then the outcome could be the deer populations declining to a point where they are at risk of becoming extinct, if you pay hunters to keep an eye on population numbers and have it regulated then there’s no risk of killing too many, killing pregnant see, young deer, nursing deer or the wrong animals. It’s not about the farmer wanting money from the hunters it’s just that you can’t just go out and kill animals whenever you feel like, wherever you feel like, you have to be regulated and do it legally
