    Thank you for this awesome video! You are a masters level instructor. I have watched many instruction videos relating to the position of the butt end of the club during the backswing. This video and your demonstrations provided me sudden clarity about the meaning of "depth" , and what I have been doing wrong, especially as it relates to positioning over the rear ankle. I immediately saw a difference with my swing. I wish I had come across it much sooner.......

    glad to have found your video. well laid out lesson. I think I've my hands too deep (butt of club traces vertically down a line with my right forearm, elbow, right butt and ends 3-4 inches away from my right heel). but my left arm is across my shoulder, not below.
    happy to see you have many other videos, will be searching for topics on release, p6-p8. awesome to see topics on reducing tension, effortless swing ... extremely rare topic but possibly 3rd most important after the grip & release for me. liked & subbed, you deserve a lot more viewers

      @@kerrodgraygolf just realised you r at Joondalup, used to make a trip there as a group in late 90s-2000s. Been missing it, cant wait to fly over again. Got hooked on golf because of the par 3 over a ravine!
      Personally very interested / confused by the delivery-release. P6-P8 and my hunch to its links to early extension. Coming back to golf after quiting years ago over frustration with the swing.

    Good, comprehensive video on an leaser discussed topic. Without depth, even on-plane backswings are difficult to deliver…unless you’re JT. Thanks for sharing.

    I’m definitely going to try this tomorrow (to see where my hands are/should be, and how much depth I’m getting)
    Great tip 👍🏻

    Matt Kuchar is very deep with 50 000 000$ Prize money so far. Ben Hogan was also very deep. Im too and my HC dropped from 14 to 5 within a few months. I love it.

    Hi Kerrod, very important subject, thank you. To avoid deep backswing, one needs to raise the arms (left arm) to get vertical, less deep correct? Thanks.

    Should the left arm move in against the chest as you swing around or should there be space between the arm and chest?

    • @kerrodgraygolf
      @kerrodgraygolf  4 года назад

      Yes it will in the backswing and then come back off in transition

      Kerrod Gray Golf This is very helpful- the takeaway seems to be taught as a linear movement back with the arms with the depth coming only from the body turn. Do the differences in technique have anything to do whether it’s a 1 or 2 plane swing technique?
